I take everyone who comes to visit me to this place. The food is consistently amazing and every new item is always as enticing as the rest. Their drink options are off the charts- from oldie but goodies to twists on classics and new creations. It isn't a super great place for kids though their pizza is delicious. The wait can get VERY long because the dining room is small and they won't seat you until your entire party is available. When nice, the seating outside is a good option, except for when the store nearby is doing construction work. The waiters and waitresses are knowledgeable and friendly. Although many people are packed in the small and tight area, the waiters and waitresses do not panic, spending equal amounts of time at each table showing no sign of franticness. This is one quality that especially impressed me, as well as them frequently asking to see if the customer needed anything. The waiters and waitresses don't only take care of the ones seated however; they also assist the customers waiting in line for a table. While waiting, the server updates the party as to how long until a table will be available. After being seated, they quickly take your order and delivered your appetizers in about 10 minutes. I would highly recommend ordering the Poutine, a savory duck confit, immersed in gravy over a pile of salty French fries, with more than enough for two. On top of this pile of tastiness is a gooey cheese curd plopped every couple of centimeters. Each element of the appetizer complemented the other parts, without one overpowering the other. Another dish I would recommend is the Brick and Brew Burger. If you believe that restaurants always overcook burgers, then you probably order them rarely, but if you travel to Brick and Brew, I assure you that the burgers will be cooked to perfection. The only problem with this plate, is the relish overpowering the other ingredients, but other that, the burger with the semi-soft muenster cheese, and the toasted bun was amazing, and I would highly recommended it to others. In addition to those two entrées is an Arugula Caesar Salad. Although dressed perfectly, this particular Caesar Salad replaced its croutons with extremely dry pieces with chicken, making this Caesar Salad unlike any other. Overall, this menu served a wide variety of meals, from chicken wings to mussels, all reasonably prices as well,with prices as low as 8$ to as high as $14. These prices are well worth the 30-40 minute wait as well as the tasty food. The only questionable price is the $13 Poutine which was fabulous, but a bit on the pricy side for the portions given. Brick & Brew isn't just known for its great food, but also for its décor and furnishings throughout the restaurant. The interior of the eatery is very rustic, with a touch of modern style, including an electronic jukebox and an ATM. I would not recommend those that are claustrophobic to go to the Brick and Brew, due it being densely populated. The noise level is very low, with calming music in the background, and the sound of the occasional bellowing laugh as well as the constant clinking of a glass. One aspect about this restaurant that I have mixed feelings about is the indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating provides more tables, but also allows insects and an infrequent breeze to sweep throughout the restaurant catching the customer by surprise. All of the utensils and glassware are very clean, with no smudges or imperfections. Plenty of supplies are fit for the unisex bathroom that only has slightly tacky floor, and a relatively clean look and smell. The Skinny: I would recommend the Brick and Brew to ages 12 and up, due to the bar at the front of the eatery. The place is clean, prices are reasonable and well worth the portion of food on the plate. I think that this place earns 4 stars because of some entrées were not very good or overpriced. Adding it to our list of "go-to" places!! Love the atmosphere, the smell of the wood burning oven, great beer list, cocktails looked good (although we only drank beer), food was delicious, staff & service friendly and attentive. We went on a Tuesday and only had to wait 5-10 mins before seats at bar opened up. Completely disappointed. My family and I walked to Brick n Brew for dinner, excited to try the new place in town only to leave dissatisfied. I will start off with the few positives that allowed me to give two stars. They renovated beautifully, the place looks great! The soup and hummus we ordered as appetizers were tasty. Upon arriving we were seated outside and overheard another table complaining about having to wait a long time for their food. There was only one waitress for both outside and inside tables so we figured things were probably a little hectic, no big deal. However, we had to ask the waitress to take our entree order after ordering apps and A FULL HOUR went by from the time we got our appetizers to when our small personal pizzas were put on our table. We had our two year old son with us, to make matters worse, normally when we're out to eat food will get brought out earlier just for him. Also, I should probably mention another family sat down after us and were complaining about waiting extensively for their food to come out. Hope they get their service, kitchen issues situated sooner than later. The pizzas were just okay and truly over priced. The sausage, egg and potato pizza you pay $11 dollars for didn't have the "meat for the money". We also ordered margaherita and tomato pizzas, nothing special. I'm still bitter about the amount of money we spent which was close to $80 and the size of the portions and the quality of food. We eat out A LOT, 2-3x per week, in the city, in Delaware county and we don't hesitate to shell out for quality service, quality food and what you would EXPECT, to receive for your money. Just yesterday, we had lunch at Guiseppi Trattorias in edgemont. It's my Favorite place, and we said look at this pizza compared to the one we got the other night.....AND it was cheaper AND tasted better. Totally misses the mark. read more

I have been to this place two times since they opened and my experiences were a mixed bag on both occasions. I love the concept and the decor... really cool little joint. The first visit was a date night with my boyfriend, we waited at the bar for 15 minutes until our table was ready and it took the bartender all of 10 minutes to acknowledge us. I understand it was busy, but even a "hey guys I'll be right with you" would have been appreciated. When we were seated, our server was really nice and professional. I have no complaints about him, he was great. The food wasn't anything special. My boyfriend really disliked his sandwich and my pizza just wasn't up to par with what I had anticipated. We weren't in a hurry to return. On the second visit, I met a few girlfriends for a drink and my experience was slightly more positive. The place was still really busy but we were able to secure seats at the bar after waiting for a few minutes. We were approached shortly after sitting and were able to order drinks and I also ordered some wings. The wings were awesome! I wasn't expecting it, because of my previous experience but I would definitely go back for these. That being said, I still had issues with the bartender's level of service. It took a while for her to ask us if we wanted another round, and when she finally did ask, she only asked my friends which I found really strange. Even though I was seated right next to them with an empty glass, I was not offered another round, even when she returned with my friends' second round. I decided not to get one after trying to get her attention for about 10 minutes and just asked for my check when she returned to offer everyone a third round (was charged for a second beer when I got it, but she took it off without any issues). I will definitely give this place one more shot, but as of now I'm not in a hurry to return... maybe when I'm craving some wings! read more

Great food, great drinks but absolutely the hottest bar I've EVER been in. It's so warm in there that we refuse to go back until whatever air conditioning issue they're having is fixed. Who the heck wants to sit in a pool of their own sweat while they eat? In the past, I've called twice and asked what the temperature in there is before going. The last time I called, the employee who answered said it was cooler outside. IT WAS 90 outside!!!! I'd give it 1 star for negligence if their food and drinks weren't so good!!! What a shame! The excuses I've gotten have been the pizza oven heats the place up and that it gets crowded.. If they ever decide to fix their issue, I'll be back! If you had asked me last year how I would rate this pub I would have given it 5 stars. However, I feel like their food just isn't as good as it used to be. Somethings are amazing and somethings are just so so. I usually try the specials when I go, usually a few times a month. Some items are a hit and some are a definite miss. The staff is friendly. I am a huge fan of Craft beer and I have been looking forward to getting to this place since it opened. We went on a Saturday about 6PM. It was busy, as is expected for most places in Delco at that time. We went with another couple and we both brought our kids, 7 people in all. This is not a place for a large group, and I what I mean by a large group is over 4 people. The owners were very accommodating and tried their hardest to make us comfortable. We eventually got a table. The wait staff was awesome, definitely earning their money. The craft beer selection was good, their specialty cocktails were good as well. The American Tapas is a very cool idea. I had the Philippine chicken pita, top notch in my opinion. The pizza was a hit with the kids, I would definitely get it again. The wings were hot, almost too hot, but that is what I liked about them. The homemade ketchup should be sold, I would buy it! I had a burger, the wife had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. Good is how I describe them. I would have liked more flavor, not sure how, but more is better. The place seemed to have a bit of an identity crisis, is it a bar that serves food or a restaurant that serves beer and cocktails? I would like them to be a restaurant with that serves great craft beer and cocktails and continue to mix up the menu. I will definitely go back, sans the kids. read more

I really wanted this place to be great. The decor looks great. And it's a pretty cool concept. However, my girlfriend and I had a horrible experience. First. We sat at the bar for 15 mins. The bartender didn't even look at us. We were not offered a beverage or a menu to look at while we waited. After being seated, our server "Brett" went over the specials with us. I ordered the pork fingers. Horrible decision. Burnt on the outside, raw in the middle. Obviously the fryer that they had been cooked in was turned up too high. It also tasted like the fryer hadn't been changed in a while. My girlfriend ordered the autumn vegetable pizza. You would think there would be some butterbut squash on there. .. or some roasted pumpkin etc... nope. Chopped up sugar snap peas and plum tomato. Thats it! With a pool of grease in the middle. I ordered the frenched chicken sandwich. Nothing short of embarassing. I shall not be going back. Management team needs to really reconsider how to approach this pretty cool looking place. Stopped in last week...sat at the bar and ordered some take out....it took over 60 minutes for the food to come out( 60 MINUTES)....I had a few drinks and the bartender was very nice...I ordered a pizza and a chicken sandwich...the pizza was the terrible....I would compare it to bland dough with ragu and small pieces of mozzarella on it....not good at all...the best way I can compare the chicken sandwich is to chik-fil-a...thats what it is....extremely fried....I like many had high hopes for this place and I will go back in a month or so as I really hope this is just growing pains....but for now I wouldnt waste any of your money there unless you are going for drinks... read more

Visited for the first time and was really impressed! Restaurant is small but has a cool vibe. Great selections of beer and ample menu. We had an appetizer of fries with prosciutto and cheese. Followed by the most interesting wedge salad I've ever had with radishes - delicious! The pepperoni pizza was terrific - kid and adult friendly. I think I'm in love! Everything about this place was just perfect; not a single area was lacking. We started out with a couple of appetizers. The chicken wings were tender to the point they almost fell apart, and they were all meat....none of that gristle. I've had brussell sprouts cooked a lot of different ways, but the beer battered version served here is a new favorite. The cheese fries were pretty decadent, but they are a must order. Instead of cheese wiz, these are smothered in provolone fondue, and topped with prosciutto and carmelized onions. Somehow, after all that, we still managed to eat some pizza. We had the ariabiatta, which was just slighly spicy and topped with rabe & thin slices of pancetta. Needless to say, we walked out with a lot of leftovers, all of which reheated nicely. We would definitely order any of these items again, but we're looking forward to trying something new next time. The menu has a great selection and everything sounded good, from the apps and pizza to the salads and sandwiches. We didn't have any cocktails, but they sounded interesting. The beer selection was pretty varied, and I tried two different pumpkins beers, both of which I enjoyed. Prices were reasonable for craft beers. The overall decor and ambiance was warm and inviting. Lots of exposed brick and old wood. It used to be a firehouse back in the day, and the Brick & Brew has embraced that. I would be just as comfortable going here for a few drinks as I would for a sit down meal. And their customer service was on point, especially our waitress Allison. She was always around but never hovering. She was very informative, and gave us some great suggestions regarding food and drink choices. read more

I really wanted this to be a 4 or 5 star visit. I took my wife for lunch. The lunch menu is more limited than the evening menu which is totally fine. We sat in the bar area and the bar maid waited on us. The service was great. They have a decent beer selection. Overall, the food is VERY average to maybe slightly below average. This is my third trip and the food was no better than before. My wife had the Shrimp Po Boy and I had the Crab PLT. Very strange consistency and taste on the crab. Nice addition to the neighborhood. The drinks are great -- Rum Runner, Miami Rose, and especially the Gatsby. Pizza and burgers are pretty good. Arugula Caesar salad came with a whole chicken breast. I like to visit a place more than once before writing a review. So since I've been here twice now, here you go. First visit: The place is small, very small but overall a nice environment. The first time we sat a one of the high tables. The chairs didn't feel all that sturdy but it was ok until we had a staff member squeeze between our table and the wall to get something out of a closet. The food was pretty good but there's not many options. We got there right before the crowd so there was no wait but on the way out we could barely squeeze by to get to the door. Second visit: we sat at the bar. The chair was not comfortable, but others seemed to be fine. Food was ok, I had the same thing I had last time but it was really salty this time. Even the person sitting next to me commented on the saltiness. Again the place was very crowded and sitting at the bar was a little tight. Overall it seemed like a good night until one of the bartenders made an error on a drink order. The Server brought it back to the bar and then the whole experience became very unprofessional and uncomfortable. The Server clearly and openly made it known that the bartender had screwed up in front of everyone except the one who made the drink (they had stepped away). While he was talking to a different bartender another Server came up, put a straw in the drink to pull some of it into the straw and TASTED IT right out of the class the customer had drank out of! Ewe... Then he began to chime in on it's bad taste right in front of other customers! The bartender who made the drink returned but no one said anything other than the other bartender who was remaking the drink. She just said it was made wrong, she remade it, the other bartender watched and all seemed okay. Again... Until, the Sever walks around to the side of the bar where the other bartender was and yelled I just put another drink order in, don't let her mess it up again! Yes, in front of all of the customers who were in ear-shot. Keep in mind, it was very crowded and noisy and he's standing in back of customers sitting at the bar and in front of those eating at tables shouting this! Very unprofessional! I felt bad for the bartender and could not believe that this had just happened! I so wanted to give this place a positive review but after that.... I've been to places where orders, drinks were wrong but never seen a reaction from the Server or other staff, like that! read more

I went with my son last night. MUCH BETTER than my last visit. We ate outside, had a terrific server. Menu has more variety and the food was good. We didn't try the pizza, which has received mixed reviews. Son had wings for app--he liked but they were very spicy! Then he had the burger, which he also liked. He mentioned he would have appreciated a little less "bun" but liked that they used a toasted sesame bun. I had Havertown pretzel for app--it was good but didn't like the mustard it came with. I was looking for the beer/mustard taste but instead it was just really really strong Dijon. Had the filet/Brie slider--VERY tasty. Overall, a much better experience than my first trip here with hubby. He had actually refused to return but now after hearing about our experience last night he is willing to give it another shot. Lastly, we went around 4:30, so before the big crowds hit. Give it a try, folks. They are improving. read more

Finally stopped by to check this place out, for a quick beer lunch with a friend. I love the interior, warm with lots of dark wood. Casual but a lot of attention has been payed to details. The waitress was efficient but a little pushy, trying to get us to order more. (Personal pet peeve/turn off) The beer selection was great, I had 18 + taps I think, lots of strong choices, and the whiskey menu was tempting. My bison sliders were cooked to well done which was disappointing. (They didn't ask. I know sliders are tricky, and bison is lean, but I almost had to send them back.) The toppings were good. I asked for greens instead of fries and was told it was $2 up charge to sub with the side salad. I said that was fine. It was not a side salad, it was a small handful of barely dressed lettuce:-/ No way there should be a charge for that. My LDC's soup from the weekly specials menu was great. I will go back, for the beer and ambiance, and try something else from the menu. read more
