My friend and I had dinner at Streetlight Kitchen restaurant on Sunday, October 19. The restaurant is located in the Holiday Inn hotel. My friend and I had the cheesesteak egg rolls as our appetizer which were very good and tasty. The crust was nice and soft but had a nice crunch to it. I had the Pan seared Atlantic salmon, and this was on a bed of rice with a nice sauce and topped with broccoli rabe. The salmon was cooked to perfection the way I like it, and was so delicious. One of the best salmon entrees I have had in a long time. I do wish Streetlight restaurant was closer to New York City because I would love to have the salmon again, it was that good! For dessert I had the brownie sundae and my friend had the warm apple crumb cake, both were very good and yummy!!! Thank you Streetlight for wonderful meal. What a hidden gem! Streetlight Kitchen & Bar is located off the beaten path and a perfect spot for date night, catching up with friends or watching a game. The outdoor patio has 3 TV's, a bar, ample seating, beautiful botanical walls and fire pits. It's truly a cozy vibe. We had the pleasure of having Branden as our server and hands down, he's awesome! Great personality and attentive but not overbearing. He explained the bartender was backed-up and let us know it was going to be a little wait for our cocktails. I appreciate honest communication and setting of expectations. What We ordered: Buffalo Shrimp - the shrimp were Jumbo and they had a pleasing presentation and taste. They were room temperature as if they had been sitting but we still njoyed them. Calimari & Shrimp - These were hot and delicious Cheesteak Eggrolls - These were hot and very flavorful. We were guest in the hotel and ordered food for pickup from this restaurant that is in the Holiday Inn. First of all, two of the items we tried to order from the menu they were out of stock, one being chicken wings. Is there a supply chain problem with chicken wings to restaurants , it's not 2020. My girlfriend and I sat outside on a nice night and had great service, even though inside was a bit busy. We started with the parmesean brussels sprouts, which were absolutely delicious. Flavorful and a healthy portion. She had the black bean burger and I had the bacon ranch handheld, which were both affordable and good eats. It took me 2 months to finally get to this place.. and I must say. I was pretty amazed. They have an amazing patio and bar area that can fit a nice size crowd. Went to streetlight last night with a few friends and sat outside on the patio. First impression was that the patio was beautiful. It's secluded and has a beautiful plant wall. The was the best part of the restaurant. 5/5 for the ambiance. Food was a solid 2.5/5. I was with vegetarian friends so we got the brussels sprouts to start and asked for no bacon on them. It was clear immediately that the bacon is what brings a balance of flavors to the dish, as the sauce was just... sweet. Like sugar water. You'd think if folks get them without bacon that they would add salt or something, but that was not the case. Asked for salt and that made it somewhat better, but the sauce was just way too sweet. We also ordered a blush garlic pizza. It was fine. Probably wouldn't recommend it as it was mostly tasteless. However, the dough was good. Everything was a little pricey but the portions were large, so it evened out a bit. I don't mind paying more for food as long as the food is good. This didn't really hit the mark. Service was a 3/5. Our waitress was very nice, but I think they had her a bit overworked and she barely checked in on our table. One in our party asked for a straw and never got it - she had to eventually get up and get it herself. The wait times for things like ordering were very high. We were there almost 15 minutes before even asked for our drink orders. There were only about 4 parties at the entire restaurant, but I believe they had our waitress doing some cleaning in the back which prevented her from being able to check in more. Overall, I had a nice evening with friends, but we would try a different location in the future. read more

What a great find! We stayed one night at the Holiday Inn where this restaurant is located and decided to eat dinner there rather than venture out to look for something else. The food and plating of the food blew us away! Our dinners were so good! My husband hand the tuna dinner and I had salmon - both amazing. When we told our waiter - also excellent - to give the chef our compliments, he asked the chef to come to our table ,so we could compliment him personally, which we did. I loved the patio, but it's a small outdoor area. The drink I had was great but was $15. It felt unnaturally high, but it was made with top shelf liquor. I think they should do a happy hour cocktail. A Terrible Experience! I'd just like to say that I witnessed one of the most horrific, terrible and most unprofessional customer experiences I've ever encountered from an establishment at (Streetlight Kitchen) on 7/3/2021. The so-called (StreetLight Kitchen) "supervisor" whose name I fail to remember yet she was an (older Caucasian woman/Hostess) that works every Saturday night and her newly appointed co-supervisor ("Anthony") were the worst!!!!! I arrived at a wedding party that a friend of mine from S. Philadelphia invited me to just to enjoy the event and catch up with her briefly. Yet later on in the evening around 11:20 pm, I was approached by a staff person named "Anthony (co-supervisor)" who told me to exit the party/premises because it was a "private-only affair"!?!! At first, I was taken aback by his unprofessional approach the way he spoke to a me (a guest)...yet instead of making any type of unorthodox scene I removed myself instantly to the hotel lobby to gather my composure. After a moment of gathering myself, I went & spoke to a few of the bar staff that knew my face and relayed to them what had just transpired. After which, I felt some type of way and I felt it necessary to address "Anthony/co-supervisor" on how inappropriately he addressed me outdoors. Suddenly, he felt the need to contact his "so-called manager" (Caucasian lady/Hostess) into the conversation. From there, I explained to them both that I was invited to the establishment by my friend from South Philadelphia (whose name was Cat) and that I understood it was a special affair and that I had no problem removing myself from the outdoor festivities. However, I didn't appreciate how (Anthony/Caucasian Supervisor) spoke to me in a disrespectful fashion the way they did as a guest, individual and a man! Let me be clear, I frequent (Streetlight Kitchen) on a periodic basis because I live in Drexel Hill, Pa and I'm actually personally acquainted with the GM of the Holiday Inn from meeting him socially at a nearby establishment (Tavola/Springfield Country Club) in Delaware County, Pa. Furthermore, he was gracious enough to tell me to come to (Streetlight Kitchen) whenever I'm around to have a cocktail on him based off of his generosity! However, I just want to say that I will never go back/frequent that place ever again!!!! Truly, it's ashame too because I very much like the bartending staff (Mark, Sam & Shameka) because they are very attentive, courteous and wonderfully professional individuals. However, when you have inexperienced, unprofessional & disrespectful "so-called" (hostesses/wannabe management) and "ill-trained supervisors" that ruin dedicated customers that patronage local establishments in the neighborhood it leaves a very bad taste in your mouth... Being a frequent traveler in these covid times, this is a hidden gem. It's located in one of the nicest Holiday Inns and has a chef that creates from scratch flavorful food The bartenders Dale and Shanika are wonderful, personable and professional. The food is top notch and definitely worth stopping in for a bite to eat. A night out for cocktails comes next on the list. I had the lamb chops, house made pizza, gourmet burger, oven roasted wings and did i me the lamb chops. I'm sorry. I loved the hotel it was beautiful and everyone was welcoming but once we got to the bar it was a whole other story. For starters it seemed that they didn't have anything! Every drink we would ask for we would get a return of....sorry we don't have raspberries, we don't have that beer, you can't order that entree broccoli is recalled, nope still don't have that drink, that menu isn't updated. I'm pretty sure this is a new restaurant and they already don't have an updated menu??? What is going on?? We even heard people next to us trying to order a standard jack and coke and they didn't even have Jack Daniels! At the end for us instead of being upset we found it more comical and were taking bets on what they would or wouldn't have if we asked for something. The staff was another thing in itself. When we first sat down it seemed like we almost had to beg the bartender to take our drinks and once we did we got the response up top. She did not seem friendly or happy to be working there. She would repeatedly in front of guests take out her phone and start texting completely ignoring that people were waiting for refills or to order another drink. It seemed no one got along with anyone. There was a server trying to do her job and the bartender was being very nasty to her kind of made us feel bad for her. She let the manager know what was going on and it seemed he even knew how the bartender was and tried to shrug it off and tell her to ignore the bartender. It's a very nice and quiet spot. I've been here twice. Once for lunch (the lamb chops are fantastic) and once for breakfast. I was expecting to get the breakfast menu that I looked at online (and already decided on what I wanted to get when I got there) but was disappointed when I got there. They only had a breakfast buffet and weren't allowing orders from the menu. I feel like there should have been a choice for the customer to make, between the fresh menu items or a stale buffet breakfast. The waffles were not good and they were cold and the rest of the buffet items were the same. I settled because I drive all the way there already. And I paid $14 for it all. Not too happy about that, honestly. I will be back for lunch and dinner, but I would like to see the fresh breakfast menu accepted more often. I would love to try it. read more

Excellent food and service. Pleasant environment. Now one negative comment - I was going to return however, one issue. I asked if I could bring my own roll for a sandwich. I have Celiac. All the other restaurants I dine at allows me to do this. One exception, Tank and Libby's but that is ok - that restaurant has gluten free bread (a good brand too). Joined another couple for a Restaurant week price fix menu. My wife and I went with special menu as did one of the other guest. The other person opted for regular menu. I'm not going to speak of others couple opinion just ours. My choice was Brussel sprout app,Lamb chops, And an apple desert that sounded interesting but were told that they were out of {really 6 PM on a friday nite restaurant week and one of the 4 featured deserts your out of?]. My wife had a shrimp app in Asian style bun, short rib calzone, Crumb apple pie which was substitute. Although we eat out often this was our first restaurant week foray. Now lets get to it. Lamb chop was described as such what was served was lolly pops, Brussel sprouts were not as described which I may add that their tricky to get right, Brownie sundae was enormous but tasted old, ice cream was a 10 very creamy and flavorful. My partner shrimp app ok, calzone ok,dessert apple w/ ice cream enormous. Let me add that dinner was enjoyable but [ friends make everything },however as restaurant week goes we felt dinner not worth the hype. Here comes kicker, we told waiter in beginning two separate checks, being one person chose to order off regular menu, no problem replied. We gave to credit cards he left came back an informed us that there's a problem. Appears management won't allow split checks during R week because of mandatory 20% gratuity on price fixe. So I suggested to put the fixe tip of hers on our bill. He said fine came back with two checks which made no sense at all. Never been to a restaurant where they wouldn't split check especially when told we couldn't in the very beginning. Lesson to be learned when establishments start gouging because of pandemic be aware. Also when ordering lamb chops you are suppose to get chops not pops, service was acceptable, although short comings of having to ask for more water but that comes with experienced wait staff and work force being retrained. read more

Dinner with friends turned into a 4 hr night - the bar was out of a certain liquor so instead of letting us change the order, we were left for 45 min at the table waiting for drinks ( while server waited for bartender to decide what to do?) we ordered food and still waited for drinks. Food was mediocre at best / greasy & two of us had stomach issues later that night. When we finally got drinks - one was so strong it wasn't drinkable. Bartender delivered our drinks & commented the cherries were 3 weeks old - soaked in rum- not what you want as a garnish! Sadly we had high hopes for this restaurant because it's close to home- however it was practically empty and the music being pipped in was too loud- trying to imagine how loud it would be with a full restaurant.
