This place is top notch. Really good prices on everything and amazing quality and freshness. The staff are super kind and helpful... Shout-out to Megan who's a server, always consistent and speedy (which is nice when you have little ones). Speaking of kids, they have coloring and dough balls for the kids to stay occupied. Chris is also great behind the bar! Be sure to always ask for the specials, amazing choices that rotate regularly so don't miss out. The meatballs appetizer is crazy delicious, 3 lacrosse ball sized meatballs in a rich marinara with ricotta spooned over the top. Order two pizzas as well and I don't care how hungry you and your partner is, you'll have delicious leftovers that reheat well in a toaster oven or on a stovetop. Speaking of pizza, some of my favorites are the shrimp scampi (although I miss the mixed seafood pizza they had a few years ago), the Philly special, and the chicken bacon ranch pizza is a favorite. The NMA and I recently ordered delivery from Sam's, more or less on a whim. We hadn't had their food for a while and we wanted something different from our "usual" takeout. We ordered the Parmesan garlic fries, hot wings and a pepperoni & bacon pizza. Everything was delicious. NMA was especially impressed with the bacon on the pizza, I agreed the flavor came through well. My only concern was with the fries - they were so underdone that some tasted raw in the center. Fries are challenging as a delivery item, admittedly so I wasn't expecting just-out-of-the-fryer fresh. These needed more time to cook. It was disappointing. The Parmesan fries are addictive - the dipping sauce makes it taste spectacular. I think maybe this is a dine-in only item. We'll be back, of course, and likely get delivered too. read more

Called in my order, and it was ready for pickup 10 minutes later. I'm not sure if that was a sign of slow service or immaculate skill. I will order those next time. My Dad got shrimp scampi which he said was really good. Pretty empty, except for a few tables, and a very loud table of four drunk and obnoxious older men. The men were talking extremely loud about such things as pussy and secretly taking nudie photos.... Instead, the one man came to our table and screamed that I was a cunt and a pussy and how dare I approach HIS TABLE. On the evening of April 18th, I went to Sam's Brick Oven Pizza for dinner and for karaoke. I ordered a caesar salad and chicken fingers. I was unhappy with my meal. The caesar salad dressing was not to my liking. Actually, it tasted awful! I didn't even finish it. And, I was under the impression from the menu listed online, that the 3 chicken fingers I ordered was $4.00, but turned out I paid $8.99 (children's menu) for it. I called Sam's and spoke to the manager about being dissatisfied with my food order. He cut our conversation short, saying they were busy and said he'd call me back...He NEVER called back!! The huge windows that open, the dark wood, and the just right lighting; it all comes together to make me feel comfortable. CUSTOMER SERVICE- My afternoon bartender was exceptional and my Friday evening bartender was very good even though she was swamped. This is impressive as they have only been open a few days. ADULT LIBATIONS- You're going to be surprised. They've taken a shot a hitting all three categories and I think they have succeeded. The beer list, wine list, and specialty drink list are all very nice. FOOD- I found it not bad at all especially as they are so new but it needs work in a couple of spots. We're talking a full menu from sandwiches to entrees of mostly Italian fare. On my first visit, while I was waiting for my food, I was served bread along with oil & herbs for dipping. It was completely FORGETTABLE and it scared me a little as it's a 1st impression and that counts for a lot. This needs to be fixed. They redeemed themselves with a very good Escarole Soup ($4). Next I enjoyed a Meatball & Ricotta appetizer for $9. It was quite tasty but similar to what I could find in lots of places. Both items I could easily order again. On my second visit I went with a White Pizza with Italian Sausage & Mushroom toppings ($13). Note, they serve only 12" pies here. The pie was cooked beautifully with a very tasty crust. Unfortunately, the Italian Sausage used was incredibly mild. I expected to taste those wonderful Italian seasonings and that didn't happen. So for me the pie was just barely OK. I suspect this these folks are going to be a four star place. I like it a lot. For now, I'm going with three stars and I'm betting I'll be changing that to four in the coming months. read more

Went to this place to eat after an event. As we walked in the door. Monica opened the window and asked if she could help us. (Kind of rude tone but I didn't say anything as my partner was already in the door and she's the one that invited me) my partner tells her that we would like a table. She rudely asks "do you have a reservation?" (Not what she said but how she said it) and we stated that we called to ask about dining and were not told about a reservation. She stand there for a second and asks Christopher to clean a table off for us. Then she rudely says "you have 90 minutes" and shuts the window. Now I'm standing there like "she didn't say hi, thank you, welcome, please, nothing!!!!!!!!" We were seated with No silverware. We ordered, still No silverware. The food runner brought 2 Caesar salads, we asked him for silverware, he said sure. No silverware came. A server then showed up with 2 Tortellini dishes, No silverware. We asked her for silverware. She then said I'll get my manager. The Manager showed up and didn't care that we weren't given silverware and said to us there's the door. Wow, we all couldn't believe that's what he said and then he said it again. He didn't give one shit that we couldn't eat the food, his restaurant was serving. Finally, silverware came. And then the 2 pizzas we ordered came. We decided we weren't going to stay and asked for boxes and wanted to return one of our pizzas because of how the Manager spoke to us. They brought the bill and insisted we pay before we got boxes... What were we going to run with the food? How ridiculous. We were told the manager would come over again but failed not to. We paid and the server brought our boxes. We had to pay the hostess BCS she told us that the server was done with us but guess what, she's the one who brought the boxes. I've never have had such an awful experience over silverware which you need to eat an establishments food or told there's the door, which I was surprised they even presented us with a bill. Believe me, I will do my Best to get the word out how awful Sam's Servers, manager and staff really are. Word of mouth travels fast and can be negative on a business. First the taste was excellent. The quality and prep, superb. It gets 4 stars, but non traditional. However, being a chef this meal of chicken Marsala and Escarole soup are both non traditional. If seeking traditional, see Pica. They take short cuts, but it's difficult for a non profession nal to know. It does have good taste and texture. I need say clients here wouldn't notice it. Did not get any tracking info, lead me to be concerned. Not know how to use the system? So delivery was on time orbit or early. What is not acceptable doesn't notify the customer of the delivery. I had the margarita to drink which was probably a mistake, I would've ordered wine if I had noticed they were a wine bar. I saw after, they had a decent selection. Earlier this evening I went to Sam's, a neighborhood place that I had been to many times in the past few years. Good food and usually a great time. When walking in around 5:30, my daughter who was visiting from out of town and I walked past the full bar and into the dining room, waiting for someone to pay attention to us and ask about seating. The wait staff were very young, seemingly in high school. No one paid us any attention. Finally after standing there (they had to walk around us) I motioned to a girl at the back of dining room who was standing there. She walked over and told me there were no tables. I asked about us waiting. She said that once the tables were empty they had reservations so there would be no tables. I asked several times (she didn't seem to understand ) if that meant there were no tables for the rest of the night-she finally said yes, there were no tables. Again, I asked for clarification and asked if the dining room was closed for the night, and finally, she understood and said, yes, the dining room was closed. To be fair. she did offer us one of the high tops in the bar area but we would have had to muscle our way through the crowded bar and fight for attention, food and beer. I live in the neighborhood and have been to Sam's many times over the past five years. I couldn't imagine that the dining room was closed for the night except for reservations-if this was the case, why wasn't it noted somewhere? Why weren't we told that when we walked in? I still find it very hard to believe that the dining room was closed. Anyway, we won't be going back. And I would urge others to not go, either. The wait staff were not very friendly and forth coming, and anyway, unless you make reservations, you can't eat there anyway! read more
