It's time to update my review again. Brick Oven has made me really go back and forth on my opinion of them over the years. Is it the best pizza I've ever had, no. Although, it's a unique spot that a lot of people enjoy. A crisp, crunchy crust with fresh toppings! I still love their quesadillas! Really happy with their salad portion size and the almonds as an addition to the house salad. Price for the portion size and quality of their pizzas is still out of range in my opinion. I've had a lot of mixed feeling about their food over the years, and usually don't feel inclined to go back. Our waitress brought our check at the beginning of our meal and to go boxes as well, which is proactive of course, but we felt rushed and confused. We never got to even state that our checks were separate, not together. Our appetizer was brought after we received our meal which was stated to be a mishap with a new chef, but we were not asked if we even wanted it at that point. We were also charged the full price instead of the lunch menu price for it as it should've been. Honestly, it would've been honorary to not be charged for it at all under the circumstances. It was just strange. We all have our off days, but it just added to my distaste for Brick Oven. I wish I had a consistently great experience with them! Here's to hoping for better experiences! A hidden gem in Abilene! Never in a million years did I expect to find such great pizza in Abilene, Texas! We started with the spicy sticks as an appetizer. They were so good that I didn't have a chance to take a picture. These are breadsticks with jalapeños (just the right amount), mozzarella, garlic butter and Parmesan Romano cheese. They are served warm and toasty and with the perfect amount of flavor and spice. The pizza was the "Bubba's" all meat pizza. The crust was a perfectly thin and crispy one that allowed for the variety of meat. Often times, the crust becomes soggy with all the meat, but not here. It was a 10/10 for sure! This was our first time here, so not sure how busy it normally is, but it was very busy this early evening. We waited 5-10 minutes before anyone noticed we were seated and then a few more minutes to get drinks, but nothing to write a negative review over. The food was worth any wait. read more

Never been here before and just passing through town. The place was very busy so I sat at the bar to wait to place an order. The staff were very quick to take my order and even keeping my drink full. They messed up on my pizza but caught the mistake before handing it to me. They offered to make a new one at no cost and even the cook came to the bar to apologize. My hats are off to these folks. This place was packed. They were moving around and about taking care of all the customers, found mistakes and took extra time to make it right to the customer. Once I got the pizza back to my hotel room, it was better than most places that I've been through out the states. Great job to all and please never lose customer appreciation attitude. read more

This is a hard one. You can swat your self BUT the sign is in a spot you don't see so 1st timers just stand there looking dumb lol. And the atmosphere was just weird! No welcome in no one to come by and say one second. We didn't know we never had been. It took a little to get service we almost got up and went to Abuelos no lie. But we got the lasagna dip and it was amazing to recommend 10/10. The pizza was awesome wished would had a little more sauce but it was still a 10/10. The service was horrible to start out BUT ended pretty dang amazing. The atmosphere was ok it could use a good deep cleaning for sure it wasn't filthy but it wasn't spotless either. Was meeting friends here they gave the name of the place, but the name is not on the building so it took me 15 minutes to even find it! The lady behind the bar was belittling other people and talking bad about staff. The food was not worth the price. Everything smelled old and dirty. Would not recommend eating here read more

Two words. Hot. Garbage. Haven't been more dissatisfied with a pizza in all my 37 years. I'm a little snobby when it comes to pizza but if your $50 order of two pizzas comes and it's literal undercooked Ritz cracker crust...RUN! I've been to this place before in-person and was also underwhelmed. Just don't. If you're willing to throw out the extra money, save it and go for Domino's or Pizza Hut. In my humble opinion . 02/07/2023 02/26/2023 Both visits were about the same as far as service goes.. We got our table-(seat yourself) and had to wait for a server. Service isn't terribly slow. But it isn't quick either. We ordered and the pizzas take 20-25 minutes. It's really good pizza. So I don't mind waiting. And you can do 1/2 n 1/2 on them. In the first visit we did taco/ bubba. The Bubba half was way better than the taco half. On the second visit we did Bubba/Margarita. I loved the margarita half. So good. Pizzas are about $14. We also ordered the mushrooms. Atmosphere: quite a bit of seating in a strip mall type environment. Several TV's around for easy viewing. We had a big group and it was easy to just pull some tables together to accommodate everyone. 1 Star Service: You basically just walk in and seat yourself and then wait staff will come take your orders. We were early so there wasn't much of a crowd and it was easy to pull some tables together. Staff was cheery and happy to serve us. We have been here several times and I always tell myself that "maybe it will be a bit faster this time." It wasn't. That's the only real downside to eating here. I don't think it's ever been less than 30 min from the time we order our pizza until we get it. 1 Star Food: Having said what I did above about the wait, let me counter that with, the pizza is always delicious. I've never had a bad pizza here and I've tried several types. Have also had sandwiches and calzones. All were top-notch. So if you want really good pizza and don't have anything to do for an hour, then this place is great. 2 Stars Overall: Great pizza, sandwiches, and calzones. We had a few items with our order today but our main issue was the service!! we spent around 80 dollars, upon picking our order up the young girl that cashed us out was rude with us. she went thru our order because we requested ranch and marinara sauce. Well we get home and we are missing our salad, and we call to let them know we are missing that item and instead of getting an apology we were meet with attitude and told they could not do anything but give us a refund and that was it. Wow ok well all we wanted was the salad we ordered minus the attitude and being very rude!! Well I am truly disappointed after hearing all the great reviews of BOP. Saturday we had come down for lunch and got a 1/2 and 1/2 pizza. Very tasteless and not even exaggerating. The best part was the crust, which was delicious. Today we ordered the large Italian sub. Once again it was bland and tasteless. The service is great, the ice tea is great, the dining room clean! But the food has no taste to it. Reminds me of being on a restrictive diet where you can't have any remotely spicy. You expect Italian food to be full of flavor and memorable. The food was over all pretty good and the pizza was still hot when I got it, which is a huge plus, and the staff were sweet but as my daughter was walking out of the table we were eating at she slipped on a small piece of pizza from the ground. Im in Abilene for business, working on base for a month. So I'm always looking for new places to go, I looked for restaurants on yelp and found La torcía brick oven. It was highly recommended and looked good. When I got there I couldn't decide what to eat, I decided to try something besides the pizza so I could try the Mortar salad, spicy stuffed mushrooms, the bread sticks, and the Italian sandwich. Everything was on point , authentic great taste and presentation. I would definitely come back and tell others. read more

Awesome. While the wait took a little bit, I can tell that the appetizers are part of the experience in making sure the timing is intentional. Nathan, our server, was one of the best servers I've ever had. He prioritized hospitality, comfort, and made it such a pleasurable and affordable experience based off of some miscommunication that the kitchen had. Used to be a great place to get pizza but the last few times it's been getting worse and worse. Ordered a cheese for the kids and a double trouble for the adults and both were half ass cooked like rushed out of the oven the crust was half cooked and the double trouble had like 20 pounds of pepperoni on it. Went to La Torcia Brick Oven Pizza today! got the creamy chicken and spinach quesadilla and the BBQ chicken luau pizza. Sooooooooooo good. Definitely would just get pizza next time because the flavor was just so much more amazing. Quesadilla was still good though! We thought the medium was two small for the two of us (it looks like a personal size), but we didn't even finish it. Even if we didn't have the quesadilla we would not have finished it. Our 16 month old got a quesadilla kids meal. He loooooooved the quesadilla so much, and he had Lays for the first time (it comes with original or bbq), loved those too! Each time I come in I either wait 1/2 an hour to get my check, can't find the waitress for refills because she's on break (?), or get stuck on a seating waiting list while other parties who come in afterwards are sat before us. Got an ad for a bogo. So I came in to get it. My first time there. Customer Service - I had wonderful assistance with getting the bogo off my FB messenger. Also she was very friendly. The only issue was the service was lagging a bit. I did give some consideration to the fact that there seemed to be computer issues and issues with something else which was a deep conversation behind the counter which delayed me getting my drink and I was very thirsty. I just didn't feel like hollering so instead I just kept trying to get eye contact. Though my to go pizza did get put in without me having to say anything. - 3 stars Food - Spinach dip was delicious, can choose between chips or pita chips. Supreme has canned mushrooms but figured that there's a reason. Still tasted great. The smoked ham on it gave an amazing flavor. Both pizza's were awesome and just as good heated up later which is hard to find pizza to meet the reheat. Overall, both pizzas were delicious.
