It was the PERFECT wedding venue and our coordinators, Ashleigh and Victoria, made it the best day ever. - Definitely recommend hiring coordinators for a wedding. They are so organized and will make the month of so much less stressful. Ashleigh is very responsive and has lots of experience and connections with vendors, so things happened much more efficiently than if I were to plan alone. - Beautiful, large space so you can get creative! And if you're not creative, the coordinators have lots of ideas so it'll be beautiful no matter what. - Loved the freedom we had to book any vendor! This is a huge deal... other locations give you a list of 3-5 caterers you must go through and they are usually overpriced. We went with Phil's BBQ and paid about $10,000 less for food! - No curfew! Worst experience, horrible staff and would not recommend the venue. Yeah it's okay but really you are in a parking lot. No pictures will help that (use google satellite view). There are too many wonderful places in San Diego to get married and this place isn't cheap, the contracts are horrible to deal with, the staff we worked with was terrible...so really why put up with this? We had an overall great experience working with Brick for our wedding in March. We booked them as our venue, and hired Victoria as our coordinator. The venue itself is gorgeous, and it is a total blank slate. Which is great, because we were able to make it totally our own (but that also means you need to figure everything out on your own). Enter Victoria. She did an amazing job helping us decide on vendors, coordinating with all of the vendors leading up to event, working out the schedule, and running the show the day of. I felt super comfortable with her--she was awesome. There were a few hiccups on the road to getting settled with Victoria, which were at times very frustrating, and during the event there were some issues with folks being too cold inside. But overall our wedding was amazing, Brick was beautiful, and Victoria kicked butt! read more

The flexibility offered - from choosing your own vendors to designing your own event hours and flow - is priceless. The real value comes in with the BRICK coordination team - we're talking Superwoman (Ashleigh) and two Wonderwomen (Chantal and Victoria). While you're technically hiring 'month of' coordinators, they are by your side right from the moment you sign the contract, and are an invaluable resource along the way (especially for those of us who had ZERO idea what they were doing when it comes to wedding planning) - from assistance with reviewing contracts and navigating a complex web of vendors, to helping manage vendor communication and offering 'bride therapy' on a regular basis. They took a bride's blurry vision and dozens of boxes of stuff, and I walked into the wedding of my dreams - I honestly still don't know how they did it, but I am eternally grateful. As icing on the cake, they will go the extra mile for you in any way they can - and in my case, that was making a homemade aisle runner that I was unable to find the time to make myself. I can say without hesitation that they are the best investment you can make alongside a wedding at BRICK, and I will consider them my wedding superheroes for life! read more

Located walking distance from the Public Market in Liberty Station, BRICK is an Event Space/Venue. I came here recently for a wedding and I've got to say that it is quite a spacious spot. The wedding I went to had 300+ people and so the space was a little bit cozy in my opinion but still able to fit that many people. As I entered BRICK it was decorated beautifully with high ceilings and it had a very industrial modern feel with string lights above and exposed "brick" walls and structure beams. There were 2 bathrooms inside and additional nice port-o-potties outside (there was a nice trailer truck). The sky's the limit in terms of event planning here as you can choose whatever your heart desires. There is plenty of parking here although when we came for the wedding we did have a little bit of traffic since there were a ton of people who were going to Liberty Station as well a Rock Church event going on. There are a lot of parking lots around the area. A great venue especially if you are looking for a spot to hold a large group of people. read more

BRICK is awesome and everyone had a blast at our wedding! While our ceremony was at the North Chapel, we had our cocktail hour and reception at BRICK. The service, communication, and support from everyone at BRICK was amazing- their team is reliable, knowledgeable, and responsive. Victoria was assigned as our main point of contact. Be sure to hire a month of wedding cooridnator or the BRICK in-house coordination package. We hired Melissa Reinke and loved her. The venue does requires you to bring in all of your vendors, but this means your day is much more personalized and unique. Plus, you can save money, especially on food and booze (BevMo has great options and deals). For flowers, get a quote from TessFresh Flowers. For Mexican food, use Gringa's Tacos company. For bartending services, use RG Bar Services. For DJ, use Jeremy Hersch. For photographer, contact Ashely Streff photography. For video, contact Emma Lynn Cinema. Definitely rent BRICK's photo booth (you'll get all digital downloads after event), select option to print photo strips, use brick walls/windows as back-drop, and bring in your own props. Our wedding was in February and it was about 70 degrees, so it did get warm inside the building around 730pm, but we opened the garage door to let in the cool air and nice breeze! This is truly a one-of-a-kind venue--and the absolute perfect choice for my daughter and her now husband for their wedding reception. The only limitations are what your imagination can inspire. It was truly remarkable and lovely and well, perfect. Of course, tying this all together would be impossible without super, incredible people helping out. We booked the venue a year and a half ago, and throughout all of that we were blessed to have Victoria as our contact at BRICK. We know she went the extra mile for us. She was so professional, yet personable and we loved her ideas, her patience, and her attitude. The space was gorgeous, the natural light was great and the size of the space allowed us to shoot a ton of photo and video footage. For what we were looking for, we really couldn't have asked for a better space. Tim was on time both days, super friendly and made sure we had what we needed. I recently attended a wedding at Brick and was very impressed with the venue. It's a large industrial space inside a very nice building (as are all the buildings in Liberty Station!) The bride and her family chose to decorate with large hanging ferns. An excellent choice. The weekend was extremely hot. Belly tables were set up outside on the lawn but it was nice to be able to duck inside to get a break from the heat. Not sure if the wedding party or Brick provided the very plush portable restrooms, but they were a nice and very important plus. My only suggestion is this--as we sat through dinner, the room became oppressively hot. I have parked by Brick in the past and noticed that the "garage door" on the south? wall was open. Because the caterers were set up outside this door, it couldn't be opened to provide ventilation. Not sure if there is alternative parking for the caterers, but prospective customers of this venue might want to take that into consideration. Otherwise Brick s a great venue! read more

I've been meaning to write this review but time flew by after getting married for almost a year now. The Brick was love at first sight. My fiancé who is now my husband knew that it was the one because I cried after talking about it while we were there. It was just convenient because it was central. Lots of parking and places to go to before and after. It's nice for those who want to be creative, personalize little details but still be classy. I love following them on Instagram because every event is different and gives you inspiration. It's spacious and we loved the market lights. We didn't even need to do much with the decor because the venue itself already does the job. I would recommend that you find a nearby place for your wedding rehearsal so it's not an inconvenience for your guests to leave the area. Most of all, we had a great wedding coordinator, Ingrid. We loved her and so did our family and guests. She was on top of it in a way that it didn't seem like work but even fun. Ingrid was very detailed and when little things came up she had a plan and was ready. Our special day wouldn't be possible if it weren't for Ingrid and her team. read more

This review is long over due; I had my wedding here in June! And it was by far the best decision I could've made. I love the fact that you have the whole place for 24hours; other venues you only get the place for like 5-8 hours; with everything a wedding intel's ceremony, first dance, dinner service those 5-8 hours will go by so quick. I wanted to be able to enjoy my time with the guest; and make sure I had a couple hours to dance, which we did. They also offer a client concierge/ day of coordinator. We had the honor to work with Mallory; she was amazing. Though out the whole nine months of planning my wedding, I was in constant contact with her, every week, and towards the last three months everyday. She was very prompt to reply. And she always offered the best advice, on any questions I had; regarding vendors to choose from, most of my vendors were from their "epic vendors " and they're on there for a reason. Out of all the vendors, her services was money well spent. She gladly re did my floor plan for the wedding at least five, six times. She was present for any meetings I had with other vendors in the venue. If you want to enjoy your special day; with no hassle, no stress. Book Brick, and get Mallory as your coordinator she is gem to work with. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about both the location and staff at Brick. My husband and I had a very long engagement but that didn't stop Ashleigh Glod and Victoria LaHood from being available every step of the way. They are impressively detail oriented and organized. They have a very balanced approach of asking you for your opinions and also making decisions when it comes to questions from vendors (for the record, I trusted every single one of their decisions- they have impeccable style when it comes to big events!) They were in contact with all of my vendors, created a beautiful timeline (complete with pictures of my husband and myself), and went out of their way to make me feel relaxed and excited about my wedding instead of stressed and scrambling. I would (and already have) recommended Brick and their coordination team to any of my close friends or family planning a wedding/ event. Brick, itself, is a centralized location with a ton of good photo-ops close by. It's layout is so open that I felt like I was with each of our guests the whole night. Incredible space run by wonderful people! We couldn't have asked for more with BRICK. My now-husband and I were struggling to find a space without a curfew (we wanted our wedding reception to go to at least midnight) and one where we could make it our own (use the vendors we wanted to support); BRICK was perfect. We had our cocktail hour and reception here on 6/12/16. We did our ceremony at the hotel where everyone was staying and transported people to BRICK for the party portion. Christina Werner is above and beyond wonderful, as is the rest of the staff we encountered. Our guests were struck by BRICK's uniqueness, and we could create the look and feel we wanted. I would definitely suggest hiring a full wedding coordinator for this space, unless you're a professional. We couldn't have done it without ours. The staff's attitude toward events and this space is really next level; if you want to work with positive, laid-back, flexible people in a space that can really be all that you want it be, look no further. Hopefully, this is the future of events. There's a reason why BRICK is so booked up; grab a date while you can and enjoy! We couldn't be happier with our choice. read more

Very impressed with this company! 828 Events was organized, personal, and incredibly easy to work with. I personally wouldn't go with another company for planning an event. 828 Events helped me plan an entire event for about 150 college students. My husband and I got married here last month. Our experience was everything I wanted and everything I expected. I chose the venue obviously for the looks, but mainly for the BYO vendors aspect. I just couldn't envision myself having a wedding where I couldn't really select the people I was working with. But BRICK solved that remedy. Clearly, many brides feel similar to me or else BRICK wouldn't be booked out through next year! With BRICK and their staff, what you see is what you get and that's the kind of gal I am. We just got married at BRICK last month and absolutely loved it- they were very easy to work with and our coordinator, Ingrid, was very responsive throughout the entire process! It's an added step to contract all of the vendors yourself but if this is the type of venue you are looking for, it's perfect. Our caterer brought the tables too and we brought in the cross back chairs and some vintage furniture through other vendors. You can be as creative as you want with the space and it's very open so it does not feel crowded. We also had the pipe and drape across the south end of the room and our caterer was able to set up there, which was very convenient. We had about 140 at our wedding and the 2 bathrooms were sufficient, didn't really have any lines throughout the night, which I was worried about. Everyone loved the Photo Booth, which we rented through BRICK. It allows you to fit as many people as you want which makes it more enjoyable! Definitely would recommend BRICK for any weddings or events! read more

We held our company's 20th Anniversary celebration at the Brick San Diego (828 Events) venue last Thursday. It was a complete success, due in no small part to the incredible ambiance of the Brick facility. The brick interior and hanging lights contributed to the theme and gave us a great starting point to decorated the space. We were able to design the space to include seating for the main meal, a photo booth, and a bar/lounge area for relaxing and mingling. Christina and Ashleigh gave us top-drawer service, including helping us with suggestions for using the space, checklists for vendors, and a website that allowed us to make a downloadable floor plan for everyone to use. We had an opportunity to attend an open house at the venue prior to our party, and took advantage of this time to walk the space with our caterer and photographer so that we were all on the same page. The parking, access, and requirements are all very accommodating, with minimal restrictions. The ability to "bring our own vendors" helped us save money so we could provide more "fun" for our employees. We highly recommend this venue for your event.
