BRICK is fantastic. We opted to pay for wedding coordinator services with BRICK very early on in the process of planning our wedding. We were lucky enough to have Lindsay as our coordinator and we have nothing but good things to say about her. Lindsay was imperative to making our day a success and really keeping all vendors in line all the way through the end of our wedding day. She was so funny, helpful and readily available for any random questions that we may have had. Lindsay! We love you bro! BRICK as a venue itself is so so great, it's open and ready to be made into whatever you want for your special day. Pricing of the venue is also great in comparison to other venues that we looked at. Parking is ample and location is unbeatable. We would highly recommend using BRICK for any special occasion!

My husband (still getting used to that!) and I had our wedding at Brick on 5/23/25 with the help of Cassidy's expert coordinating and Sabrina's top notch staff. It's impossible to imagine anything better than our experience at Brick! The setting, the ambiance, the care and support of preferred vendors: everything was perfect. Even the weather which showed off in true San Diego fashion! We will cherish our wedding memories always thanks to the incredible team that brought it to life!

Gorgeous venue! I attended a wedding Friday and this was a lovely space! It seemed like it would fit a decent amount of people. I want to say this wedding was maybe 100 people. It was big and spacious and I loved the brick element and the garden lights up top. It seemed very customizable to what every couple would want. We had cocktail hour outside - next to traffic was slightly weird but still nice with the band the couple hired.

Wow!! BRICK was awesome. The location of the venue was perfect. Close to the airport, hotels, brewery, restaurants, and a karaoke bar. It made the entire weekend very enjoyable to plan different events for our guests. We opted to pay for the month of coordination at BRICK and worked with Lindsay. She was great!! We met often, and she was very thorough with all the details. We often changed details about our timeline, and were very particular about specific dances and videos we wanted played on the projector screen. She was able to make all of our dreams come true. We were blown away when we entered the venue the evening of our wedding. It was beautiful! The ambiance was incredible with the brick walls, string lights, candles, and greenery throughout. It felt so magical. We also booked all of our vendors through the recommendation list BRICK provided. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants to custom build their venue. It's such a great spot to have a romantic ceremony and an epic party! 10/10!

Pros: * Amazing Venue; love the brick decor * Plenty of Parking * Easy to Find * Open House showcased a lot of great vendors Cons: * Time limit on parking; according to Brick employees, it is not strictly enforced Extra: * Great Wedding Venue option

We used Brick for our wedding venue in February 2024 and I can't say enough good things about the venue or the team. I really liked that we could take the space and customize it exactly how we wanted. It was more work on our part than going with a venue that had preset vendors but the entire Brick team made the process seamless and super easy to navigate. It also made our special day more "us" because we chose the vendors we wanted and not every vendor is going to match every couples needs/personality. I definitely recommend doing a planning service with them if you choose this venue as the attention to detail is impeccable and takes alot of the pressure off the couple. From day one I knew that the team had it handled and would take care of any issues that came up throughout the planning process and the day of. They clearly communicated what needed to be done, kept us on a timeline to make sure everything was completed on time and made sure the day of that everything went seamlessly. They have a great list of vendors they provided which allowed us the option to choose what worked best for us and suited our needs. We couldn't have been happier with the vendors we chose and all in all everything came together exactly how we wanted it too. Thank you to everyone at Brick for your hard work and dedication to making our wedding everything we imagined and more!

If you're looking for a blank canvas that you can design any way you wish, BRICK is for you! The entire team at BRICK is professional, communicative, organized, and a pleasure to work with. Our guests loved the venue location, the venue itself, and the bartenders. We honestly don't think that we could have found a better venue for the price that we paid. We definitely recommend paying to have Lindsay as your wedding planner because she made the entire process stress-free! We worked with Lindsay for about 1 year and she was the absolute best to work with! We were iffy on getting a wedding planner at first, but it ended up being the best investment we made. We planned everything through virtual means (Zoom, email) which means we didn't have to physically be in San Diego, which is huge for us since we live 2 hours away! Lindsay is like the fairy godmother that magically makes all of your wishes come true! 10/10 would recommend :)

I am so happy I chose BRICK for my wedding. They made everything so easy and the location was perfect! My guests loved it and the whole vibe of the building was amazing. Lindsay really helped with making sure everything ran smoothly! Picture credit is Roses and Reeds photography

The employees have been very nice, which helps when you're trying to navigate shows as ADA. You email to let them know you're coming to a specific show. And sound is decent, but definitely bring ear protection if you're going to be up front near the stacks. We go to a lot of punk, metal, hardcore, etc and that gets LOUD. Concessions isn't too bad. The snack bar only takes cash for sodas, candy, etc. But you can use a card for alcohol at the bars. Go figure. And now the not so good. First of all, a weird layout, because it used to be a small movie theater in the old days (hence the exit stairs and pairs of windows super high up along the wall, lol). This makes for some strange pockets where getting out of the up-front area becomes almost impossible for a sold-out show. A not so comfortable seating option for ADA. Small folding stools aren't comfortable for more than a short period of time. (I know someone that's an ADA consultant for venues and festivals, and he would love to work with you guys, just saying....) The womens bathroom is always horrible. Two of the stalls always seem to be flooded, and I feel like the first stall hasn't locked in years. Seriously, it needs a lot of help. Don't park in the handicap parking places, because you will never be able to get out when everyone is leaving. And if there's police activity or tons of rideshare, they'll block you in. The parking lot definitely is super torn up and needs to be repaved, but I'm not counting that against them because it's not up to them. So do we come here? Yes. Are we excited to? No.

We went there to check out a newer dark wave band called Ultra Sunn on a Friday night. Upon entrance, the place wasn't too crowded yet. We were briefly searched upon entering, as most concert venues do, but I was surprised as venues this small typically do not. Brick By Brick shouts out dive bar vibes, but as you can see from the drink menu, they do not offer dive bar prices. Anyway, when we walked in, we checked out the venue. There was a swag area in the back, along with a water cooler and cups, which is always a huge plus. When we went to order drinks, we were served quickly. I had a couple of margaritas that night. One bartender was definitely more skilled than the other, but I guess it all depends who's working that night. As the evening got more crowded, we were still able to get a good vantage point to watch the show. However, this wasn't a sold out show. I think sold out shows could definitely pose a problem at this venue. The positioning of the bar sort of creates an L shape, meaning that if you end up having to watch the show from far back, you would miss the portion of the stage that is blocked by the bar. Interestingly, our show ended just before 12:30 and, as soon as it was over, the house music blasted "closing time" and bright lights came on. They definitely didn't want anyone hanging around. That said, I wouldn't make a point to specifically go to Brick By Brick, but if there is a cool band playing, likely tickets would be reasonably prices, and the the venue is decent enough.

She had complimentary tickets ( usually a $10 cover) to The Shout House, a dueling piano bar. We almost didn't go and let me tell you, that would have been a sad mistake. We walked in and while it was a little loud for us older folks, we looked around and took in all that was happening. There were people there much older than us as well as people barely old enough to be in a bar. The pianist (s) were hard at work a the drummer was rocking out too. We sat down. Let me tell you, that was the most fun we have had in a long time! All three musicians played multiple instruments, piano, harmonica, sax, and drums. The songs were everything from Slim Shady to Elton John and everything in between. Slips of paper were placed on the piano, a nod was given and off they went. The crowd sang along and we all laughed! Some of it was silly but ALL of it was fun! Highly recommend. About 10:30 the older crowd started making their way out, us included, early morning flight but we would have stayed until closing time. We might have paid for it the next day but had we not had a plane to catch we absolutely would have stayed. It was fun to see multiple generations having so much fun together and the music was incredible. We had just eaten so we didn't order food but what we saw on other tables looked good. Go!! Guess they do a lot of events here live music parties, etc. actually quite a cool freaking place. Service: fast friendly and fun not only because I was here for the game but because they decorated up for the Redskins and literally had like 40 to 50 Redskins fans. We hosted our wedding here in September, and from the first tour, we knew there was no better…read moresetting. The venue itself is stunning- light-filled, elegant, and perfectly positioned overlooking the bay. It offered everything we were looking for aesthetically and logistically. Overall sentiment: This is a gorgeous venue that makes an incredible first impression. However, the experience with the venue's coordination and communication didn't live up to the beauty of the space. If you're detail-oriented or able to stay on top of planning logistics yourself, you can absolutely make it work, but if you're hoping for hands-on, consistent support from the venue team, you may want to budget for extra help. 2) Pros Beautiful location: The ceremony site overlooks the bay between palm trees, truly breathtaking and perfect for photos (though note in Sept the grass was pretty brown/dead- it's maintained by the city of San Diego, not the Point). Gorgeous interior: The reception space is full of natural light, with beautiful wooden tables (no need for linens) and a chandelier draped with greenery and lights, which helped us save on décor and flowers. Flexible vendor policy: We loved that we could choose our own caterer and bring in our own alcohol, this flexibility gave us creative control and helped manage costs. Spacious and well laid out: The venue comfortably fit around 150 guests, with smooth transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. 3) Cons Customer service inconsistencies: Communication often lagged, and we had to double-check details multiple times to make sure nothing was missed. Frequent staff changes: Our main contact kept shifting. Different team members joined calls without being fully briefed, and we occasionally received conflicting information. Day-of coordination issues: We weren't introduced to our "day-of coordinator" until a week before the wedding. She left after our grand entrance and handed us off to someone we'd never met, which felt unprofessional and confusing. The event timeline fell behind, the grand entrance was delayed by about 30 minutes, and no one notified us so we could adjust. From that point on we were late on the whole timeline, and we ended up missing "golden hour" for sunset portraits. I wish she would have approached me at the scheduled time for the grand entrance to check in with me on making it happen. Last-minute changes: Floor plans were delayed several times, and even at the rehearsal, staff were suggesting new tweaks instead of finalizing details earlier. Parking challenges: Guest parking was extremely crowded, and we weren't warned this could be an issue, which led to confusion and delays. No bridal suite/bathrooms: There is no availabiltiy to get ready on site- they don't have a bridal suite and the bathroom is a small one toilet room, or a group of stalls shared by the Mission Bay Acquatic Center- you will have to get ready offsite and then sneak into the venue through the catering entrance in the parking lot. In summary: This is a truly beautiful venue. But the organizational side could use improvement. If you're someone who can stay on top of the details (or hire a planner to help), it's absolutely worth it for the setting. Just be prepared to take the lead on coordination to ensure your day runs smoothly.
