legit Detriot type Pizza.... trust flavor profile that the fried pickles, and other strange topings...on it!... it works!

Went here Friday 3/25/22 around 6pm. We came right on time where there was plenty of seating options because after 6:30 the restaurant was starting to pack. Parking is tricky as you have to park out on the street in a residential area and walk to the restaurant. It's a hipster vibe with tv around to catch some games going on. We were a group of 2 adults and 2 kids. We ordered the side portion size of the corner salad and really glad we got that because their regular size salad is massive. The side portion was plenty to share between me and my husband. Beautifully presented salad, fresh ingredients and great tasting vinaigrette. It also came with a side of toasted pizza crust that tasted great! There isn't a kids menu so we went and ordered the OG cheese pizza for all of us to share and it was plenty for the 4 of us. Kids got their slice, me and husband ate two slices each. It was my first time trying Detroit style pizza and absolutely loved it, the crust was crunchy and puffy, red sauce very delicious. We decided to order the cookie skillet for dessert. The cookie was a little burnt but kids enjoyed eating it with their ice cream. Great pizza place. Recommend and will be back! read more

This is one of my FAVORITE pizza places by far. The pizzas were damn delicious. I normally don't care for Detroit style pizzas - and maybe because I hadn't found a great place until now, but this place is awesome. I've been here a couple times and have also done takeout. The crust has a nice crisp, and the cheese and sauce balance is perfect. The portions are big but the reheated leftovers were still tasty! I was also surprised by how good their Caesar salad was- most pizza places don't have the best salads. Loved theirs! My husband and I love Detroit-style pizza - a love that we recently found while living in Denver - so, when we stumbled upon Bricks while visiting friends in Salt Lake, we insisted on going! In all honesty, Bricks had a lot to live up to, as our favorite pizza place of all time serves Detroit-style pizza in Denver and has won so many awards. So we had very high expectations when we decided to go to Bricks. We arrived at around 9:00 PM on a Saturday night and were seated & served immediately. I ordered the Rosemary Gimlet on Rox - a refreshing, strong cocktail - and for food, we split mozzarella sticks (AKA the Importance of the Fried Cheese) among the table, and my husband and I split the Cheesy Mushroom Afgoo. The mozzarella sticks were divine - this is a must order as these were truly the best mozz sticks I've ever had! The pizza here is like nothing I've ever had. The actual crust looks crispy like Detroit-style pizza, but it's super light tasting - literally tastes like air! The toppings were amazing though - those mushrooms & cheese - yum! But unfortunately, it was not the Detroit-style pizza we were expecting. Food is delicious and the portions make it worth it. The leftovers were just as good. The service was our only complaint as they seemed unhappy to be there (understandable, but not enjoyable as a customer) it also took a bit for the food but it was worth the wait. Environment is super enjoyable, family friendly-- but also perfect if you want to grab a beer and watch a game. Definitely recommend!! read more

I've never heard of Detroit-style pizza but anything deep-dish is a fun surprise in Utah. The crust was really good (super crunchy and crispy on the outside) and I loved how they pile the fresh toppings high. I know, I know - who orders salad at a pizza place? But I loved my wedge salad with the balsamic drizzle so much that I'd totally order again. The location is tucked into the neighborhood and there are just a few spaces in their tiny parking lot. Leave a little extra time to find parking as you might need to walk a half block or so. Pretty good service and seems popular. Only thing I wish is that they stayed open later! Who doesn't love some good pizza? Bricks is more of a pan pizza, lots of bread and cheese and while it's not my usual choice for pizza it's so so good! I went a cheese pizza, and ordered to go. It was very busy when I picked up. Parking can be a bit tricky and you may have to park back in the neighborhood and walk a bit but luckily if you have a take out they do have a couple spots for pick up right out front. The pizza box seemed on the smaller side but don't be fooled. You get 6 square pieces. I only managed to get through 2 pieces before calling it and saving the rest for left overs. Inside was busy, and there seemed to be a bit of a wait for a table on a Friday night. But I will say it would be worth it! Or you can always order ahead and take it home. Came here and got the Brick House pizza. It was really good! I liked how thick the bread was. The server was good and she was able to answer all of the questions we had. One pizza here can definitely feed 2 people, maybe even 3. The ambience was fine. I think the tables are a bit small, since the person sitting across from me kept bumping legs with me, but overall not bad. read more

Wonderful food tonight, but even better service! In town for a few days and chose Bricks Corner for our last dinner. We encounter a grumpy customer on our way in, so we were a little worried even though we had plenty of time to eat. Rachael quickly put us at ease and did a great job. Very customer friendly, made sure to visit us from time to time. The drinks, salads and pizza all can out well timed and sooner than we anticipated given it was a fairly active Sunday night. Everything was delicious. Ate way too much of the Salty Sweet Pig pizza. Our only regret was not having any room for dessert. They all seemed like good choices. We ordered takeout from Bricks based on the awesome reviews. The pizza was *extremely* oily. But what's worse is there was a long, black hair in the pizza. I messaged Bricks just to let them know (and sent a pic), and never heard a peep from them. I wasn't expecting to be refunded or anything, I just wanted to let them know and would've appreciated them acknowledging it. But nothing. If you love this style of pizza and can handle the greasiness of it (and maybe a hair), great! We didn't enjoy it and ended up throwing most of it away. read more

I am always in the mood for pizza and for some reason I've been craving Detroit style specifically lately. To my surprise I actually found a spot in Salt Lake City of all places! There is a very small parking lot only for carry out orders so you'll likely end up parking along the street in the neighborhood. There is a bar area and there is also an outdoor patio along with the tables inside. I ordered the brick house ($17) since that seemed to be one of the more popular pizzas here. The food took a little while to come out (about 25 minutes) but when it did come out it was an amazing entrance. The first thing I could see was just how big the pizza was! The portions are huge and there is just a lot of food that one pizza could feed two people. In fact, I only ate about half of it and took the rest home for leftovers which could last another meal. The pizza itself was really good and I loved the cheesy bits on the crust. Speaking of cheese, there was a lot of it all over the pizza which is just heaven for me. The pepperoni was good too and the dipping sauce was a nice touch. For the amount of food you get it is a pretty good price and the food is pretty darn good too. read more

Dang the best Detroit style pizza I've ever had. This thing was huge for $20. I usually don't like Detroit style because of so much bread to it, but every bite to it was just the right texture and amount of toppings. It was nicely caramelized and cheesy. Little did we know... the pizzas are massive, like thick massive with lots of cheese, but oh so delicious! The crusty bottom, but chewy center, and the crispy cheesy sides, we loved it! We ordered the squash and brussels appetizer, and it was so yummy! The pizza's we ordered were the sausage king of Chicago, add mushrooms, which was so delicious! The roots pizza, amazing with all those veggies, and the garlic confit! The cheesy mushroom, it was good, but needed more flavor, more mushrooms. Last but not least, our favorite, the sweet salty pig with bacon, bbq pork shoulder, and those bread and butter jalapeño chips, so much flavor, so freaking good! I'm into it, for sure. There's a lot to like here. First, let's start with the location. You'll likely park on the street to the east, as the lot just has pickup parking. Inside, they've done a really nice job of making it nice, but not too nice. Urban, but not too urban. A bar, but not like, you know, a bar bar. And Instaworthy but not like, you know, obnoxiously so. There's no real gimmick here and whoever designed the place had a lot of fun, but showed some restraint. It's got character without intruding on what the main show is. The food, at least on my weekday lunch visit, was the main show. And it's front and center. We went in a small group, and decided to start with some tots. And boy howdy, these were tots. I wasn't the one to make the order, but whatever the one with cheese and peppers and pulled pork, that's the one. It's a melty, messy, tower of a heap of a mound of a dish of tots and it's not apologizing to anyone. Many of us went with a lunch deal, which had a pizza, a salad, and a drink. I opted for the artichoke one, and it was a massive, messy pile of artichoke, white sauce, cheese, and that Detroit crust that feels like it was baked in a dish with oil and butter and the dough licked it all up to be delivered to my lips. The salad is not the star of the show, but does make for a nice break from the hot plops of pizza. I ate three slices (squares, to be more accurate) plus tots, plus the salad, and didn't eat again for a day. I didn't see the bill--but with tots and tip it was $20 but again, that had me covered for a day. One of the table got a burger, and I'll say, it looked okay but do yourself a favor and get the pizza, that's really the star of the show. Our server was nice enough and friendly, and knew also that a bunch of fellas who hadn't seen each other since pre-pandemic and were now safe to dine out would want space. If you want a drink, do get one. I just sipped my lemonade and was happy about it. Lots to like here. There's room in this town for all types of pizza and this is a nice addition to our city's pie scene. read more

We didn't realize the pizza was big enough to share between two people, so Everyone in my group got their own pizza and liked their flavor, even the carrot and Brussels sprout one. Entered the building at 645pm seated by 652pm The two bartenders were Nicholas and Goose Busy Thursday night I'm seated at the bar, I ordered a Amaretto Sour, and a Coke. Sat waiting for 5 minutes to get my drinks and then ordering food. I ordered a cracked tots and a Sausage King of Chicago. Order for food was put in at 657pm. Appetizer arrived at 714pm Main course arrival 721pm. Atmosphere is loud, seems to be the happening spot, there is some kind of event tonight not sure what it is... The event tonight is a team trivia, which I had no idea or plan for it. The pizza has nice crispy corners, red sauce above and below the cheese large amounts of pepperoni and sausage chunks, the pizza has 6 slices and they are deep dish and very filling. I consumed 3 slices. The cracked tots are very nice, they are seasoned with salt and pepper with basil. The sauce is unknown to me, it tastes something like thousand island dressing but it's a house dressing. I rather enjoyed the food and the atmosphere here, I did speak to many people at the bar to socialize and this was a good night for me in a meal destination while in Salt Lake City, Utah read more

Full disclosure I am a thin crust, New York slice girl-so the deep dish Detroit style pizza was a little bit too bready for me, albeit very delicious. That said, I thought the pizza choices here were really good and I loved that you can choose any type of pizza for the special they have. As a heads up, there is no parking for this restaurant, except for a couple spaces for order pick up, besides that you will need to park in the neighboring residential street. I would really like to try this restaurant again and maybe go for appetizers. The vibe inside is super cute, there are a lot of tables considering it is such a small space. When we got there, we were immediately seated, but no one came up and addressed us for about 20 minutes. I felt really bad for the girl working, she was the hostess, waitress, bartender, and table busser. She was working her tail off and the place was absolutely crowded. If you like deep dish pizza, this is the place. Personally I prefer regular crust, but I have to give credit where credit is due. The flavors were delicious and the crust didn't feel heavy or greasy. The pizzas are quite large and can be easily shared. The patio is nice and not too loud, even being near 700 E (they also have large garage doors that open up fully when weather allows). Brick's corner sets the standard for good Detroit style pizza in SLC! The crust is perfectly cooked and has a good bite to it. It isn't too hard, nor too soft. It is not hard to the teeth, nor is it like drinking the pizza. They use what I think is a proper, fresh Wisconsin brick cheese on the pizza, as there are two noteworthy qualities about the cheese. First, it is piled on there THICK! Seriously, after three slices, a cheese brick will form on your stomach! Two, the cheese touches the edge of the pan they cook it in, creating a nice crust made of browned, crispy cheese. This provides an extra kick of tangy flavor to the pizza. The sauce is quite good. They pile it on high and in globs over the cheese, true to the craft. It's clear that they add other ingredients to the sauce to give it some extra flavor and to cut its acidity level down. However, its flavor is a little too heavy on the tomato profile. If there is one minor thing they could do to make the pizza better, then I'd suggest putting in a bit more garlic in the sauce, and putting some more whole onions into the sauce during the simmering process. That said, Brick's Corner barely gets a 5 star rating. 8/10, very good pizza! I will 100% be back to try other options on the menu! read more

The pizza was great and loved the way they made their deep dish cut in fours and placing the sauce on the top. I ordered the convo which was a smaller size pizza and came with a salad. A must try in SLC! We had a large party and they were actually able to seat us immediately, on a Friday night. Service was good, not great. We had to ask for things like silverware and napkins. How true is it compared to a true deep dish Detroit style pizza...idk. But it was super yummy. One down side...parking was terrible. You'll need to do street parking. We came on Sunday, the place wasn't pack...but parking was still very hard. And their parking lot is only for people who are doing take out. All the pizzas we got was super delicious. My favorite pizza was the brunch pizza. It had everything a deep dish pizza needs and more. But I do recommend sharing. It is a deep dish pizza so it's a lot of food. The appetizers are also very yummy. Highly recommend getting some. Something I don't recommend getting here is their mimosas. It's $4 a glass, more orange juice than anything. The glass is also tiny...and if you're not careful you can rack up a lot more than you expect to spend but ordering a bunch. read more
