I am always in the mood for pizza and for some reason I've been craving Detroit style specifically lately. To my surprise I actually found a spot in Salt Lake City of all places! There is a very small parking lot only for carry out orders so you'll likely end up parking along the street in the neighborhood. There is a bar area and there is also an outdoor patio along with the tables inside. I ordered the brick house ($17) since that seemed to be one of the more popular pizzas here. The food took a little while to come out (about 25 minutes) but when it did come out it was an amazing entrance. The first thing I could see was just how big the pizza was! The portions are huge and there is just a lot of food that one pizza could feed two people. In fact, I only ate about half of it and took the rest home for leftovers which could last another meal. The pizza itself was really good and I loved the cheesy bits on the crust. Speaking of cheese, there was a lot of it all over the pizza which is just heaven for me. We enjoyed their food. I got the Corner Margherita and my spouse got the Brick House. We should have only ordered one, because these pizzas be thiccc. However, we were like okay we can have leftovers. BAD MOVE PEOPLE. The reason this was a bad move is because they brought us styrofoam containers to take our leftovers in. We had 4 pieces of EACH pizza to go home with us. The reason this was such an unsavory situation is because styrofoam encourages condensation. The next day when I wanted to eat said leftovers, the pizza was soggy af. Huge bummer, especially for how expensive this joint is. I'm into it, for sure. There's a lot to like here. First, let's start with the location. You'll likely park on the street to the east, as the lot just has pickup parking. Inside, they've done a really nice job of making it nice, but not too nice. Urban, but not too urban. A bar, but not like, you know, a bar bar. And Instaworthy but not like, you know, obnoxiously so. There's no real gimmick here and whoever designed the place had a lot of fun, but showed some restraint. It's got character without intruding on what the main show is. The food, at least on my weekday lunch visit, was the main show. And it's front and center. We went in a small group, and decided to start with some tots. And boy howdy, these were tots. I wasn't the one to make the order, but whatever the one with cheese and peppers and pulled pork, that's the one. It's a melty, messy, tower of a heap of a mound of a dish of tots and it's not apologizing to anyone. Many of us went with a lunch deal, which had a pizza, a salad, and a drink. I opted for the artichoke one, and it was a massive, messy pile of artichoke, white sauce, cheese, and that Detroit crust that feels like it was baked in a dish with oil and butter and the dough licked it all up to be delivered to my lips. The salad is not the star of the show, but does make for a nice break from the hot plops of pizza. I ate three slices (squares, to be more accurate) plus tots, plus the salad, and didn't eat again for a day. I didn't see the bill--but with tots and tip it was $20 but again, that had me covered for a day. One of the table got a burger, and I'll say, it looked okay but do yourself a favor and get the pizza, that's really the star of the show. Our server was nice enough and friendly, and knew also that a bunch of fellas who hadn't seen each other since pre-pandemic and were now safe to dine out would want space. If you want a drink, do get one. I just sipped my lemonade and was happy about it. Lots to like here. Full disclosure I am a thin crust, New York slice girl-so the deep dish Detroit style pizza was a little bit too bready for me, albeit very delicious. That said, I thought the pizza choices here were really good and I loved that you can choose any type of pizza for the special they have. As a heads up, there is no parking for this restaurant, except for a couple spaces for order pick up, besides that you will need to park in the neighboring residential street. I would really like to try this restaurant again and maybe go for appetizers. The vibe inside is super cute, there are a lot of tables considering it is such a small space. When we got there, we were immediately seated, but no one came up and addressed us for about 20 minutes. I felt really bad for the girl working, she was the hostess, waitress, bartender, and table busser. She was working her tail off and the place was absolutely crowded. Brick's corner sets the standard for good Detroit style pizza in SLC! The crust is perfectly cooked and has a good bite to it. It isn't too hard, nor too soft. It is not hard to the teeth, nor is it like drinking the pizza. They use what I think is a proper, fresh Wisconsin brick cheese on the pizza, as there are two noteworthy qualities about the cheese. First, it is piled on there THICK! Seriously, after three slices, a cheese brick will form on your stomach! Two, the cheese touches the edge of the pan they cook it in, creating a nice crust made of browned, crispy cheese. This provides an extra kick of tangy flavor to the pizza. The sauce is quite good. They pile it on high and in globs over the cheese, true to the craft. It's clear that they add other ingredients to the sauce to give it some extra flavor and to cut its acidity level down. However, its flavor is a little too heavy on the tomato profile. If there is one minor thing they could do to make the pizza better, then I'd suggest putting in a bit more garlic in the sauce, and putting some more whole onions into the sauce during the simmering process. That said, Brick's Corner barely gets a 5 star rating. 8/10, very good pizza! I will 100% be back to try other options on the menu! read more

The pizza has nice crispy corners, red sauce above and below the cheese large amounts of pepperoni and sausage chunks, the pizza has 6 slices and they are deep dish and very filling. I consumed 3 slices. The cracked tots are very nice, they are seasoned with salt and pepper with basil. The sauce is unknown to me, it tastes something like thousand island dressing but it's a house dressing. If you like deep dish pizza, this is the place. Personally I prefer regular crust, but I have to give credit where credit is due. The flavors were delicious and the crust didn't feel heavy or greasy. How true is it compared to a true deep dish Detroit style pizza...idk. But it was super yummy. One down side...parking was terrible. You'll need to do street parking. We came on Sunday, the place wasn't pack...but parking was still very hard. And their parking lot is only for people who are doing take out. All the pizzas we got was super delicious. My favorite pizza was the brunch pizza. It had everything a deep dish pizza needs and more. But I do recommend sharing. It is a deep dish pizza so it's a lot of food. The appetizers are also very yummy. Highly recommend getting some. Something I don't recommend getting here is their mimosas. It's $4 a glass, more orange juice than anything. Get the basque cheesecake! So creamy and the burnt top is remarkable. I've been here a dozen times and the food is consistently great. The only complaint I have is the parking. It's neighborhood parking. You may have to park a block away but the food is so worth it. We love family trivia nights and watching games at the bar. Their outdoor patio is covered but bring a jacket because it can get cold at night. The service is great but you need to wait longer because every pan pizza is baked in their steel pans. It is totally worth the wait. They do have keto and gluten free options. I usually get the cheesy mushroom afgoo or the brick house. The cheese baked on the bottom of the pan is nice and crispy. Bricks Corner recently opened and it is quite a nice gathering spot located in the neighborhood close to Liberty Park. They serve Detroit Style pizza and have a full bar available with both indoor and outdoor seating options. What is Detroit style pizza I wondered? It's a square pizza cooked with cheese around the edges so when it comes out of the pan it has a tasty crunchy cheese crust. We had the Brick House pizza and one pizza was just enough for two people to share. Also they have a couple of options for tator tots appetizers on the menu and we had that for a starter. They have a full bar with options for beer on draft and bottled plus many different cocktails. They are taking some precautions for Covid 19. The tables are distanced apart with plastic dividers between the booths. We visited on a Saturday night so it was pretty busy but we still felt okay dining in. Parking is extremely limited so expect to park on the street and walk a little bit. Definitely we will be back to Bricks Corner to try some of their other varieties of pizzas and handhelds. read more

The cracked tots were alright. The seasoning and truffle on the tots wasn't strong enough for me to taste a big difference. In my opinion, they tasted like normal tots with a bit of truffle on them. The sauce provided gives them lots of flavor though. The sweet salty pig pizza had delicious flavors. The barbecue pork, the ranch, and the grilled onions paired perfectly together. Very solid meal consisting of wings, sweet pig pizza, crack tots, and corner salad. I give the tots and wings 5 stars, the pizza 3, and salad 2. The tots could have been hotter with the shaved parm not very melted. Really good flavor though and is was the only dish I kept sneaked more of after done with what I wanted of everything thing else. Wings are how I like them being seasoned rather than drowned in some type of sauce. The guy I was with thought the pizza was fantastic, but it was too sweet for my liking. If consistency is a restaurant key to success and Bricks Corner should be around for a good long time. I've frequented this gem since their earliest days and my latest experience was, as usual, great. Always innovative but never failing to make sure quality is present throughout, Bricks made me a chicken piccatta pizza that was absolutely gorgeous. Tender chicken slathered in chimichurri with a tang of tart lemon. The crust was chewy and every bite was savored. Yes, their more traditional offerings are good, like the Sausage King and the margarita, but I think they really shine when they think outside of the box. The chicken piccatta pizza is proof. One thing I also should mention is that their cocktail game is decent and their beer selection is also fairly robust. A good pizza deserves a good companion. Last but not least, I'd like to mention the staff and their attentiveness on this visit. It was a pre-holiday evening and they were busy. Normally, on a busy night you can get a seat on the heated patio area in just a few minutes. This night, they had a private party booked and we had to wait about 10 minutes to get eight adults a table. They couldn't have been nicer about it and were incredibly attentive. Because we're family, we wedged our party into one of the larger booths, but they offered to move us if we needed more room. We declined, but their attentiveness was truly excellent and quite nice given the stress of the season that can overcome us all. Great food. Great service and great people. Killer Detroit style pizza!! I ordered the mushroom pizza and the corner salad, everything was delicious. The salad was fresh with lots of classic Italian salad toppings but the star of the show was the pizza fry bread, that should be a menu item all on its own, so buttery and crispy and GOOD! The mushroom pizza was yummy, it's a lot of pizza but great leftovers. Can't wait till I'm in town next and can try some other items off the menu.
