I we got a bowl of Ramen and we got a plate of beef and rice and Samosa. Everything was hot and delicious. You need to get cups from the restaurants and the water station is hidden in a small nook. It's delicious. We went back the next day. The beef and rice was still amazing at the Mongolian place I think. I got a caramel tres leches at another place and I was not a fan. This underdog food hall located in the Granary District has some hidden gems, and serves as a gorgeous gathering space. There was an awesome jazz band playing when we visited for my friend's birthday, and we got the best seats in the house. There are so many food options to choose from, from sushi and pizza to burgers and ramen; there's truly something for everyone here. A couple friends ordered burgers and said they were delicious. I tried my friend's tonkatsu ramen and was in awe of the flavor of the broth, and another friend and I split a Mozz pizza. The crust was great - not too thin and baked with a perfect finish. I must've said 5 times that the ranch served on the side was the best ranch I've had. Something for everyone! Food - 5 stars How can you order the wrong thing when you have so many different restaurants and cuisines to choose from?! The first time I visited Woodbine I enjoyed an incredible Korean fried chicken sandwich from BokBok Chicken, and this time I tried some black shoyu from Yakuza ramen and a Kimcheesy from Deadpan sandwich. Both so tasty, I'd definitely have them again. Service - 5 stars This is a walk up to the counter, order, pay, then go pick up your food when it's ready type of affair. Everyone I've interacted with behind the counter of each business has been so kind and helpful. There are napkins and utensils in a common area, and you clean up after yourself when you're done. Ambiance - 5 stars Sometimes I think I'm going to the wrong address when I route myself here with GPS, but once you enter the parking lot through the little side street it is very apparent you're in the right place. You will be welcomed with beautiful graffiti artwork all over the buildings surrounding the dedicated parking lot, there is a large outdoor space and many large interactive games and spaces outside, and the inside has a very high ceiling with shared table seating down the middle, with other smaller tables and chairs for smaller parties. There is often like music here. This time when I went for dinner there was a small band with a large base and a trombone among other instruments in the corner, and I was so surprised that music wasn't too loud and did not echo off all the surfaces in such a large space. It was just perfect, a really pleasant addition when live music can sometimes be too loud and hinder conversation. Some other tips - I like alcohol with my meals sometimes. Not every restaurant serves alcohol, BUT I like to hit up Mozz Pizza for a serving of wine or beer. Utah law is so hinky around boozy stuff, but our convoluted laws do allow for you to purchase alcohol from this establishment as long as you purchase food from any other restaurant in the food hall. Wooo! There's a club here (or next to the food hall in the same building)! Like a nightclub type of situation. I've never been in but it looks like so much fun, and sometimes they have events and there's a little music audible from this neighbor. This really is an everything destination! Mostly card. Some businesses do take cash but do not always have the change to break larger bills. Love, love, love. Always ready to go back to this wonderful spot! read more

Solid venue to get some grub, chat with friends, be with the "in" crowd without having to be all fancy or hipster. Woodbine offers several food and beverage options from sushi, soup, burgers, cookies, BBQ (we were here for Salt City BBQ, YUM!!!) and pizza. Each restaurant has their own little spot to cook and vend with a commune for eating. Think "mall" without the crappy stores, just amazing food. There is entertainment and movie nights here, an outside patio area with games like sidewalk chess for the smart kids and cornhole for the less smart kids (it's me... I'm the less smart kids.) There is a bar / lounge area at the front of the building that looks fun, we have not tried it yet. read more

I would've never guessed that there'd be a food hall in this part of town if it weren't for a recommendation. My dining adventure took place on a random Tuesday evening in April. Lots of options to ranging from pizza to sushi to beer to ice cream and treats in between. After browsing up and down, I opted for the sushi and a tea leaf salad from Shwe Letyar Sushi, which was very delicious (especially the tea leaf salad). Woodbine is located in South Salt Lake. We went to get dinner before going next door to Granary Live! They have so many choices from pizza to ramen to burgers and dessert. Everything I've tried here is delicious! I love that they had live music playing because it created a nice ambiance. They have lots of seating but it still feels intimate and creates a great atmosphere. I love that it has outdoor seating as well. There is ping pong and corn hole outside which is always fun! Very cutesy place. It reminds me of food halls from where I'm from. Didn't know it was here either since the neighborhood can look sorta desolate. The food was good. We would return. One reason I can't give 5 stars is the confusion with how to get your food after ordering. I would prefer they streamline this process a bit- 4 restaurants and 4 ways to get your food. A friend chased her burrito all over the hall before getting it ‍ I also regret tipping so highly for the fast casual when they didn't offer any service (bringing food,bussing tables, cleaning tables). This place is hidden away in the industrial side of town. We parked on the road and then walked towards the signs on the sidewalk which guide you towards their main entrance. I tried the curry ramen and takoyaki from Yakuza Ramen which I enjoyed. I had to trade my niece dishes because she ordered a Hot Philly Pork from Deadpan thinking it would be more of a heated up sandwich, like Quiznos. Only it was a spicy hot sandwich. It was good. Had a nice spicy kick. I wish it had some sort of crunch to it. The soft, shredded pork and soft broccoli had great flavor, but texture wise let me down. I'd return to try their other sandwiches for sure. My partner and brother tried Taste of Louisiana. My brother really liked his gumbo. My partner didn't enjoy his fish and grits. He said it tasted like a frozen fish that they deep fried and he didn't enjoy the grits either. He also tried The Taco Lady and he loved the tacos. I finished off my meal with a Cortado from 3 cups. This food hall is literally a hidden gem in the industrial area. Our original plan is to try out the ramen and eventually ate almost everything in the food hall. The Mozz pizza is freshly made, literally the best pizza I ever had so far. The Bok Bok fried chicken serves super crispy Korean style fried chicken. The candy garlic flavor is super garlicky and a bit sweet, the side dishes of fries and cole slaws are unexpectedly super tasty. Gonna come back next time to try out the gelato and the ramen. What a lovely spot!! After my not-so-great visit at Hall Pass recently, I took the suggestion of my co-worker and paid Woodbine Food Hall a visit. I'm so glad I did! While I would have loved to try Mozz Pizza, 3 Cups Coffee, The Taco Lady, and Yakuza Ramen all in the same visit, I knew I had to pick just one for dinner! I decided on the Taco Lady because I love birria tacos. My birria tacos super affordable (score!) and packed with flavor! Best birria tacos I've had in SLC so far. I'd love to try the flan next time! While I was killing time at Woodbine, I stopped at the bar connected to the food hall for a glass of wine and to get a bit of work done. The staff was very welcoming and I had a great time! I look forward to my next visit to Woodbine and to see how this food hall grows even more over the next year or so! read more

Food halls or food courts are an up and coming answer to supporting local food vendors that may not have the capital to start up their own brick and mortar location. Several of them can come together and share a building that gives them their own dedicated space, but because of the co-op nature of the setup, draws larger crowds than they might on their own. For the customer the appeal is having so many options in one place. Woodbine is rather new-so they are still filling in some of the spaces. The building is old and full of character and has plenty of parking outside. It's bright and light with a good amount of seating. You can even arrange to reserve a table for large groups. Attached, there is a bar where you can order cocktails. Make note that you can't take your cocktail out to the food hall, but you can take your food to the bar. There's also a neat rooftop area in the bar. The next time I go, I might get my food first, then get my drink and sit up on the rooftop patio. read more

So far so good. We checked out Woodbine this week. We both decided on Mozz for pizza. I had a delicious Serrano, Salami drizzled honey pizza! So good. Just enough heat. We also ordered some chocolate chip cookies which I enjoyed as they are like a home baked treat. There were a few other spots open. A coffee counter, A Taco Shop, Deadpan Sandwiches and a ramen spot but that seemed closed when we went. There is also a pretty large bar on the front of the building. This place is great! Anywhere -- you can get a little bit of anything for anyone is an awesome place. I have had the ramen, which honestly is not the best ramen I have ever had but it wasn't bad. It definitely needed a little bit more flavor or spice but they provide an array of hot sauces sriracha, etc. I also had the California burrito from the Taco Lady and it was so good! Definitely not your typical california style burrito as it had chunks of potato in replacement of the classic fry -- but it tasted fresh and the salsa was so good. Woodbine has a lot of places to sit. I think it would be a great place to work or come to hang out with friends and play some of the games outside. read more

Came here last night (Friday night) with a friend and we both had a rather good time. The atmosphere was relaxed but alive. Walked around checking out the menus of the food vendors, order I meals and listened to some local artists play music while waiting for our orders. I ordered the Cajun Fries and a side of Greens from Taste of Louisiana. They were really good and greens were nice. My friend ordered the Pork Ramen from Yakuza Ramen, it must have been good she didn't speak a word and finished way before me, which is unusual for her (take note in the food pic that her bowl is already half empty and we just sat down at our table for maybe 5 minutes before I took the pic...lol). When we both had or food we moved to the bar and sat at a table ordered our drinks to go with our meals; a gin and tonic and a blackberry sour beer. Everyone that served us was extremely polite and friendly. My experience, with the two servers at the Taste of Louisiana was fantastic, they were both lively, upbeat and extremely friendly. In the end it's definitely a place to go if you want a relaxed meal with friends (especially if they all have different tastes or appetites) and still feel like you're going out for the evening of entertainment. read more

The first food hall that I'm aware of is called Hallpass (located at Gateway mall). Woodbine food hall is located in the outskirts of downtown SLC and has limited parking spaces nearby the building. The best thing about food halls is there are a variety of food options to appease the palette. Think of them as a food court at the mall but without all of the retail shops. The main focus is food! This food hall currently offers the following shops: -3 Cups Coffee (limited hours) Coffee and some baked goods -Mozz Pizza - stone oven pizza -Deadpan Sandwiches - classic and eclectic sandwiches -Yakuza Ramen - Japanese inspired ramen noodles. -Taco Lady - Mexican inspired cuisine -Taste of Louisiana - Creole Cuisine -Vuture Food - Vegan Cuisine Our party tried items from of a few of the shops. Mozz Pizza - The Serrano Honey packs quite the heat! We ended up needing to pick off some of the Serrano slices because our mouth was on fire. Recommendation to lessen the Serrano. We also tried out the garlic bread and it was pillowy soft. The real winner from Mozz Pizza has got to be the housemade ranch dressing. I'm so glad the staff recommended the sauce. Our party kept going back to the container and dipping almost everything in the delicious dressing. I need that recipe! Deadpan Sandwiches - We ordered the grilled kimcheese sandwich. The thought behind the sandwich sounds delicious but execution of flavor was okay. The bread was toasted perfectly but my recommendation is to update the house made kimchi recipe. My guess is thick collard greens were used for the kimchi (caused unpleasant bitterness). I would try using traditional Napa cabbage as the choice of vegetable instead. It is better since it has a natural sweetness and won't be bitter. I would also lightly stir-fry the cabbage prior to adding it to the sandwich. This will help tame and tone down the sourness. Taco Lady - We ordered the chorizo burrito and loved the flavors. It was packed, wrapped nicely, and didn't fall apart while eating. The only issue is that the burrito was pricey. Before tax it was almost a $15 burrito. Yakuza Ramen - Ordering ramen at Yakuza ramen is an introvert's dream. The ordering system is at the front of the counter and doesn't require interaction with the staff. Only one person was managing and cooking at the restaurant. The ramen came out fast and was delicious. Overall, Woodbine is a great place to try-out if you're hungry but you don't know what to eat. The food options are great but be aware that some shops are pricey. The food hall is quite spacious and offers indoor and outdoor seating. I hope more food options are to come. There were a couple of empty stalls. Unfortunately this location is out of my way but I would be interested in stopping by again if I'm around the area. Would you go? Let me know. They're trying hard and I'm wishing them well. There's a lot to like about the rising of this neighborhood and there will certainly be more rooftops and more company in this west side corridor, so hopefully Woodbine grows into itself. Food halls were all the rage just before COVID and we'll see if they come back or if they go the way of the cupcake. We stopped by and perused the offerings. I love that there are many different choices to be had, and if you want to go to the cocktail bar you can go in there (though I'm not 100% clear if you can order food there, or bring in your food, or definitely not bring in your food... I didn't really look into it.) I don't love that you're buying fast casual and paying premium prices here. The pizza place is probably the cheapest, but we went for the southern/cajun food and spent $40 on a very small dinner. It was tasty enough, but just like their food truck brethren, a food hall booth is not the lap of luxury so the pricing seemed off all across the board. High rent? Someone has to pay the live music. They're working on creating a vibe and a scene with the games on the screen and the aforementioned live music. Hopefully they keep finding their rhythm. read more

Super fun spot tucked into the Granary District right off the freeway with lots of parking. Beautifully decorated with lots of cozy seating and a rooftop bar with a gorgeous view. Amazing spicy pineapple margaritas! They also have a really great Sangria that has ginger beer in it. The Purple Plane was also super delicious and I love that the bar is attached to the food hall. It's super easy to scan the barcode and order food. They even bring it out to your table for you. We tried the pizza and it was wood fired perfection. I'm so excited to see this place grow! It's a wonderful space with five different food vendors - Mozz, 3 Cups, Deadpan, Yakuza Ramen, and TacoLady. They also have a back cocktail bar that is separate from the food space where I believe you can bring your food to eat. I checked out Mozz, a spot I've been dying to check out but have never made the trek to Provo. I got their cauliflower pizza and it was delicious. Wood-fired and cooked to perfection. The pizzas are personal sized pizzas and are a little on the pricey side, but are delicious and use fresh and high quality ingredients. The cocktail bar has a speciality cocktail menu and is dark, moody, and cozy. There was a large party the evening I went that were watching a football game and were taking up the cozy couch and chair seats. A great spot to watch a game that's not too busy, or to grab a yummy cocktail with some friends. I got their Ay-Yo Miss! cocktail that was a vodka based cocktail with some lemon, elderflower, and champagne and it was light and refreshing and wonderful. There are a couple empty vendor booths in the main Woodbine space and I'm excited to see who eventually moves in. It's a wonderful space in a growing area and I'm excited to see them grow. read more

I love food halls and Woodbine doesn't disappoint! I've been two times now and it's never been very busy but will likely pick up once it gets more exposure. I've tried Dead Pan Sandwich, Mozz Pizza, Taco Lady, and the bar area. All were excellent but my favorite would have to be the pizza. The Sopressa was excellent and the crust was delicious! The tacos were flavorful and the meat in each was tender. Just an FYI their birria is not the crispy version but is in a delicious homemade soft tortilla. The schnitzel sandwich was buttery and crisp and I'm looking forward to trying their other unique menu items. The bar is modern and relaxed with friendly staff and good drink options. Love Woodbine for its many food options. Great for going with a group of friends so everyone can find something they'll enjoy. At a food hall, like Woodbine, if you have a bad meal, it's kind of your fault. After all, there's a plethora of choices and you maybe went all-in with a single vendor. Maybe a good strategy, but a food hall invites experimentation, and we were not disappointed. We started with a fermented tea leaf salad from Shwe Letyar Sushi and it was honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. Salty. Spicy. Vinegary. The peanuts added some crunch and it was good from first bite to the last. We decided against having it over rice and next time we have it, we'll try it that way. It might drop the saltiness a tad, which could make it even better. Their moniker contains the word sushi and we didn't even try it. If it's as good as the salad, and I'm betting it is, it's on the menu for our next visit. Truly excellent food. We wandered over to Deadpan Sandwich and ordered a Grilled Kimcheese and an Oh Schnitzel, which we went havsies on. Now, this strategy is rife with danger if you happen to order the better tasting sando, but still have to give it up to your partner because a deal is a deal. However, we both came out winners here, as both sandwiches were really tasty. The touch of fresh dill and the crispness of the kraut made the lean, tender Schnitzel really shine. Depth of flavor throughout was lovely. The Grilled Kimcheese also satisfied and was just slightly darker in color and crispier in chew than the Schnitzel, which I prefer. A crispy texture on a grilled sandwich is a plus in my book. The second half was packed with kimchee, but wasn't overpowering, working well with the melted American cheese. Yet another offering that was as good as the end as the beginning. I like the Woodbine Food Hall and they've done a great job with look and feel. Luckily, they've also put in serious consideration to gathering really good, high quality vendors. Next time: Korean fried chicken, an artisan pizza and definitely a Taste of Louisiana. read more

We saw an add for this place and decided to stop by. As we walked up to the place it looked promising, but after walking through, we decided to leave. We like to eat on the healthier side and it looked like everything was fried. However we stopped at the Woodbine Tavern, so glad we stopped by, nice place with a laid back vibe and they were playing 70's vinyl. I had the Waterhouse Old Fashion with Sugar house rye, excellent. We mentioned to the server that we really didn't see any healthier food options and she mentioned Mozz Pizza and Taco Lady. We ended up ordering a Cauliflower pizza with Smoke Gouda and Goat cheese. They brought it to us in the bar and it was one of the best one's we've had. Hadley was outstanding and helped us turn what we thought was a bust into a great evening. Came with extended family for husband's birthday. Great for groups because you can make a reservation, and everyone can pick their own meal. I rarely post reviews online but I feel Taste of Louisiana deserves all the attention it can get. The service here is prompt and genuinely caring. You can feel Mama Helena's passion for her craft! I normally eat little, but the bacon cheese grits were just too damn good to only get once. If I had to describe the food in general I would have to say perfectly seasoned and not overwhelming: The sweet tea was refreshing and flavorful without being cloyingly sweet; The bacon cheese grits were creamy and cheesy but not greasy; The beans were only slightly sweet, which I loved. I have never had po boys this good. And on top of all that you get live entertainment, with local jazz bands playing while you eat. I went to Woodbine for the first time with my adult son and his wife and had great food. Unfortunaltely, the food was slow being prepared and due to Utah law we had to have the server bring our beer to our table when they got around to it. After dinner, we thought we would check out the bar. My daughter-in-law is an immigrant and the manager refused to take her permanent visa (Green Card) for an ID and said they needed her passport with the visa stamped in it. She is 27 years old and the visa has all of the necessary identification on it. It was terribly embarasing that they were discriminating against her/us and blaming Utah law. We went to another bar in the district and they had no problem accepting the permanent visa after reading it. I will not return to Woodbine since I can find good food and be treated better at other places. read more
