Awesome place. The atmosphere of the place was amazing and the pizza was too. They have a great variety of pizzas and if you don't like any you can build your own. You get a lot of pizza for your money but the only thing that kept this place from being 5 stars was that our pizzas were not cooked for the same amount of time. Pretty good late night pizza spot to grab a slice after a night out for some drinks. I didn't pay so I can't tell you the price, but our group of 3 enjoyed our slices. They only have two kinds if you're buying a single slice, but I can't really complain because they're open late at least. I had two of the cheeseburger pizza, don't remember what the other one was. Cheeseburger isn't my favourite kind but it was still good. Will definitely keep this place in mind for my next night out. read more

It's one of the few places in the city that is open late, but that's about the only redeeming quality. The pizza is thick, doughy and the middle is soggy, while the outer crust is dry from sitting around at room temperature for too long. They do, however, have a small but notable selection of local craft brews on tap. Also, the staff appear to be visibly annoyed when you try to actually order something and take them away from a conversation they were having with their friends. It's like walking into some sort of private hangout that while technically open to the public, they'd really prefer it if you didn't come by. Stop by if you're really hungry for pizza and want good beer on tap and don't want to break the bank, but if you're looking for any sort of ambience or service, I would suggest going elsewhere. read more

The pizza is delicious and the portions are large, unfortunately the service ruins it for me. Absolutely terrible. Im waiting in line behind a man who has already paid but is apparently friends with the girl working, and they are chatting. She looks at me a few times, so I know she knows I am waiting but her conversation is more important. I just want the hot pizza,, while its hot. After I final get her full attention and my pizza I sit to eat, and watch as after she has no more customers to attend, she pours herself some of the draft beer into a coffee cup and joins her friend at his table to continue their conversation. :( read more

Good place to have a slice and beer. The atmosphere is relaxed with loud bumping music and the crowd was mixed. Pizza was ok, better than the majority of pizza places in Vic and the beer selection is limited. Brickyard would be perfect at a university campus. read more

LOVE their pizza! Usually stop here when I'm craving cheesy goodness - its my go to place for pizza. This last time I went, I ordered a whole pie and it was delicious. I normally don't like the crusts of pizzas as I find them too hard on the outside and doughy on the inside but I love the crusts on these. Its not too crispy and not too doughy - its like eating the bread given to you at an Italian restaurant. Yum! When dropping in for pizza it can be hit and miss depending on their demand and when the last pie was made. There has only been on occasion where I was disappointed by what they had left. You can always ask them to warm up the slice for you - it tastes so much better. read more

No hand washing = gross. As I was walking in to the establishment there was a young woman outside on the sidewalk smoking a cigarette only to later find out that she was the cook. Staff do not clean, staff do not wash their hands and what's worse, they show no effort to hide this fact as everything is made right in front of patrons. I watched a staff member handle cash then immediately start preparing two pizzas in a dirty pan without washing her hands and even started licking her fingers continuously in between grabbing different ingredients. Pizza is pretty good. Nothing to write home about. Service, however, is usually crap... From the dead-eyed counterperson taking your order to the cooks going up and down the stairs nearly knocking you over if you happen to be walking by. Service is super slow, too, even if there's no one in there. I only go if my partner wants some pizza before a movie. A decent price on pizza and fair beer specials. Just don't expect a super hot meal during the week. The pizza is really good when it's busy, but during slow times their meals are often a bit cold. I spent just under 3 months in Victoria and outside of my residence I spent more time at the Brickyard than anywhere else. My roommate worked here and I would go and hang out there because there were tv's and they serve beer. I've had just about every kind of pizza from this place and it's some of the best pizza I've ever had. The beer is reasonably priced and I watched everything from Jeopardy to Toronto Raptors on their tv's. Definitely worth hitting up. read more

If you've had a few drinks and you need some grease - head here. Though I'm certain that a big, fat slice of this pizza is far better when you've had a bit to drink and it's piping hot from the oven. A slice is $3.25, but huge. And it seems less greasy than Ali Baba's. It's not quite Golden Boy (in San Francisco - where I used to live), but I'll take it. read more

Been here a few times They have soy cheese which makes me happy. Overall lackluster flavour for pizza but the calzone we had was good. It's close by with decent prices (compared to other places in the area) so we will still go but not sure I can give it more than 3.5 stars (4 because yelp doesnt do halves) for anyone who doesn't live within walking distance. read more

First impressions are huge, and to be quite honest this place fell short in a huge way. We walked in and the ambience was awesome. Music was great and vibe was good. We were then greeted by a extremely rude member of staff asking what we wanted to eat. After asking a question about if there were other options of pizza aside from the ones that were in front of us there was rolling of eyes and then pointing us to what was in front of us. After we got the pizza it was mediocre on its best day. The pizza was doughy, crust had no real crunch and the meat choices didn't work with each other. My wife didn't even finish her piece. Brickyard was good in overall terms, my exception to this is I ordered a pizza, roasted chicken and bacon. My first bite into a slice had a bone from the chicken. Not a great experience. My partner was craving pizza on our recent weekend trip, so we trekked out to the Brickyard for a few slices. The hours (open 'til Holy Crap Really? a.m.) and beverages (beeeeeer) were perfect. He enjoyed both the atmosphere of the place, and the taste and size of the slices, and wanted to go back. Sadly, I gave the restaurant a second chance, and on both visits, my veggie slices were lukewarm, with rubbery cheese and spongy crust. The pizza tasted like it wouldn't have been much better when freshly-made, and the place was depressingly dim and weirdly claustrophobic. It's probably best to think of the Brickyard as a dive bar that happens to serve pizza. read more

This place was amazing many years ago, but I have no idea why anyone goes to Brickyard anymore. It's seemed clear for a while now that staff are selected on the basis of looks/being friends with eachother and not because of any culinary/customer service background or ability. This results in a profoundly unprofessional atmosphere wherein it seems as if the quality of the food is last priority, judging by what's on offer every time I've been in in the past few years. The main way which this issue manifests is that the pizza sucks, and if you walk in here at any time that's off-peak, there will be super unappealing, cold, congealed pizzas in the window. Unless you ask, I generally find that they won't put it in the oven when this should be a given at that point. I haven't personally eaten here in a while but accompanied a friend here last week and found that not much has changed. If you like really doughy pizza, I can see how if it's actually hot it could be alright, but it just never seems to be. Legacy restaurants, especially those in prime locations get away with mediocrity all the time in this city so it's not shocking this place is still open - but to be somewhere in-the-know people actually go to eat in a circumstance not involving alcohol, or at a time of day when there's other choices, would require a dramatic shift in the culture here that doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon. read more

The Brickyard has quite a relaxed atmosphere during the earlier part of the day, but basically turns into a club on Friday and Saturday nights. It's a great place to come after a show if you still feel like drinking and eating pizza! Pizza, pizza, pizza! The staff are friendly. It can get loud in there. Beats be bumpin. Hands down the best pizza I've ever had! All the employees were amazing and so helpful. The blue eyed boy was adorable and made me feel like a billion bucks. The girls cooking pizzas were cooking up a real storm! The best sausage I've had in my life!!!! Brickyard is awesome if you need a quick slice on the run. Cheap, big slices, and nice toppings. The catch? You have to endure some of the worst service in town to get it. Take the usual snooty millenial crap service you get at every service or retail place in town. Now add a hangover, a burnout from hi test weed, recent news of a rent increase, and soul crushing disappointment that your fav tattoo artist just moved to Edmonton. You start to get the idea. This one is tough, the pizza is ok at three stars but the service and such is two star at best. This place looks to be a pie by the slice joint. They sold pies "BUT" there was not a list of what?? The slices were ok if you like really thick dough, toppings were normal and passable. They didn't heat slices so your best bet was to wait for new pies. We wanted a salad but were told "no go" because they didn't have time because they needed to make 12 pies, under staffed! read more

Over priced mediocre pizza. The Brick pizza was passable but hardly worth the $28 per pizza. Bland aside from the meat flavour. Couldn't taste the flavour of any of the other ingredients. The California pizza was like a ghost of a pizza. Barely any flavour. Probably one of the worst veggie pizzas I've had at a Victoria restaurant that I had reasonably high expectations for. I guess it's good they serve beer, because The Brick Yard is like a lot of pizza places that seem to cater to inebriated patrons who are too wasted to know the difference between decent food and crap. This, quite simply, is THE place to go for pizza if you're in the downtown area. Everything about the brick yard screams quality, from the focused and attentive staff behind the counter to the smell of rising dough sitting on the counter. Once you see the 25 cent arcade games in the back room you slowly begin to realize you are in a classic pizza joint. Now, I have to confess, I'm a huge fan of carbs, and these pizzas do not disappoint. Big, thick, perfectly cooked crusts await your carb cravings. Freshly chopped veggies, spicy sausage, wonderful mozzeralla, you're stomach will be so happy you'll just have to smile. If you don't mind a bit of a wait try a specially made calzone, tailored to your specifications. I've been going here for years and have yet to have anything but an excellent slice of pizza. If you're into catching a game on TV I can't think of a better place to stop. Gotta say, I love their pizza. Big slices, fresh and incredibly tasty. So I wasn't shocked when I rolled in one night to a 40 minute line. What got me was when I finally made it to the front we patiently waited more because no more slices were available and fresh pizzas were coming out. During my wait some guy decided that he would budge in front of a massive line that we've all been waiting in to offer the girl working an amount of money for the whole fresh pizza. Leaving all of us without a choice. Good on her for cashing in on money but customer service would suggest that he stay in the back of the line and the 30 somewhat people behind me get served first.
