Came here twice for pizza while visiting someone at nearby Royal Jubilee Hospital. Great wood fired pizza oven. Both times the service was quite good. Fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. When I dithered about which wine to order the waiter offered to bring me samples of each to help me make up my mind. That was really kind and unexpected. You can watch the pizza being made if you are so inclined. I found the Margarita pizza to be short on salt but the pepperoni was really good. Finished off with the flourless brownie, which was one of the best I've ever had. Not mushy, like a lot of them are, but rich dark chocolate cake with structure. Very impressed. I find this thin crust pizza best eaten hot and fresh from the oven. Probably won't get takeaway, but I'd gladly eat in again, in fact, I'd go back just for the brownie. read more

Rustic wood fired pizza. Crust isn't super thick, nice and thin with just the right amount of cheese. The pizzas here are on the pricer side ($16-19), but it's not your typical fast food chain pizza. You get to sit down at a nice restaurant and enjoy pizza with fresh ingredients. Service was speedy and food came out fast. We went for lunch and there weren't a lot of people seated in the restaurant. The ambiance here is set up for a great place to meet up friends for lunch/dinner. read more

A fabulous find. Naples style pizza, wood fired oven. Salad starter with a honey balsamic vinaigrette. Loved the surprise crunch of a salt flake. Tomato, prosciutto, mozzarella, arugula pizza for me. Tomato, sweet red pepper, caciocavallo (a smoked cheese), mozzarella, salami, red onion, banana peppers, and chives pizza for him. And he drizzled house made hot oil in top. The latest location for Prima Strada is just as excellent as the rest. Located in a quieter neighbourhood than the Cook Street location, you can expect to get a table without the tremendous waits of the older locations. The seating is comfortable and you can still get a great view of the action in the kitchen from the bar seats. The lighting is cozy and comfortable, great for a date or an evening with friends. As with the other locations, you can expect some great thin crust pizza wood fired in a brick oven. The food is consistently delicious. When this location first opened the pizza could be over cooked, but the staff has a good handle on things now. Be warned, if you've never had this style of pizza before, it's not loaded with cheese or encumbered by toppings. It's a nice experience and the staff has done a good job of retaining the same quality of service and food as their other locations. read more

Delicious pizza -- crust is just the right balance of crisp and tender. I also really appreciated that they made a plain crust with just olive oil for someone in our group with dietary restrictions. (Which, by the way, with sugar sprinkled on it would make an amazing warm dessert.) Service was fast and responsive. This was our first visit but we will definitely return. read more

Got takeout tonight and got home sadly to see not only the toppings mixed up on the pizzas, but it wasn't up to the same standard as the Cook St location. This was the worst pizza I've ever had. The place was packed so we thought: it should be good. Pizza was soggy, and covered in oil. Ok ... so about an hour ago I had the best pizza I've ever had (and I say that having spent a week in Rome, and 3 weeks in Italy in the past couple of years). I've alway loved 'American' style pizza ... lots of meat and cheese and tomato sauce... and never really understood why people sneered and considered it to be inferior. WAY OVERPRICED! $20 for a tiny 6 slice pizza that was soggy and had almost no toppings on it. $3 for a can of pop or a coffee. I wish I could rate different aspects separately, because the service was excellent, and the pizza was actually tasty, but I nearly cried when I saw it, and when I picked up a slice, the toppings slipped off onto my shirt. Ordered a pizza Quattro stagioni for pick up, at this new location. Pizza was not ready at the pick up time, took another 15 minutes. Pizza was cold when it came out late... How can that happen. The pizza itself had virtually no toppings, some slices were practically just the pizza crust. The pizza "crust" was soggy. I don't know about the other locations, never went to those. Inedible $$$ We were looking forward to a lovely evening out at a new local pizza place. Atmosphere is great, we enjoyed the open pizza oven. The wine was lovely but the pizza was terrible. One of us ordered the Salsiccia e rapini because we both love fennel sausage but it had a horribly strong bitter taste! One piece and it was pushed aside - inedible. I ordered the Panna e pancetta and we agreed it was very expensive cheese bread. 5 teeny pieces of pancetta with bland cheeses. We thought the waitress was so gracious in offering to make a different pizza (Pepperoni - it was good) in place of the inedible one until we saw the bill come with all 3 pizzas charged. Yes, we should have asked but she should have told us. So... $80+ later and we had a good pepperoni pizza, cheese bread and 2 glasses of wine. We certainly won't be back. read more

First of all, super disappointed in this place. I ordered a funghi pizza and my bearded waiter forgot to mention that he was gunna load the thing up with mushrooms. Ew I hate mushrooms. Second of all, I was charged full price for a pizza that I entirely ate. Everything about this place is backwards, not only do you get what you order, but you are charged full price for it. Quite simply, I don't enjoy being charged for things that I eat. Third of all, when I asked for a box to take my remaining zero pizza slices home with me, I was denied. The waiter claimed I had finished all my pizza, which was true. If you are going to eat here, be prepared to eat pizza and pay full price for the pizza that you ate. This place is lit though. My favorite pizza place in Victoria , true wood fired pizza and great sides to share. They opened one on foul bay in Oak bay at the beginning of the year we go to as it closer to home but love the Cook St location also the original one we found. Staff are excellent and always friendly. Ambience in both locations are excellent. Small Outdoor sitting at cook but not in Oak Bay. We will continue to return again and again. read more

The first few times I went there I enjoyed the food. They have a limited menu but that's ok, they do it right. There is really nothing on the menu as far as individual portions go but there is nothing better than leftover pizza for a midnight snack. Now, why I will never go there again. I went in and was seated and I noted the cook doing pirouettes behind the counter, he had a beard and makeup and I thought that was so cool that someone is able to express themselves without being self conscious, I immediately admired him. There weren't many people there, which was a bit unusual, I was served and was enjoying a delicious calzone. About half way done I saw the cook look around furtively and quickly put his hand in his armpit and then to his nose. Happened pretty quickly, and I could overlook it if he washed his hands after, but he didn't, just started kneading some dough. Anyway, I got a take out box immediately after and tossed it out before I got home. Have never lost my appetite so quickly. read more

Worst Pizza I've had in Victoria. The service was very poor, I was forced to wait an extra 40 minutes for takeout, the pizza was cold and absolutely drenched in tomato sauce which took away all of the flavor. Prices were extremely high for the small amount of pizza. By far the worst pizza place in Victoria, I will not be coming back. read more
