A plus size girls dream!! I had gone to a few shops in the Buffalo area where I live (even the fancy ones), they don't carry enough larger sizes so trying to imagine what they will look like is hard to do when they are TOO SMALL. Most were strapless and I am busty so strapless was not going to work, most of the other shops kept telling me I could add straps (which didn't feel like they would give the support I needed). I started a google search for plus size dresses and found one from MORI LEE that I loved online, I found that Bridal Belle had it in stock in a larger size than I needed but at least it wasn't smaller. When I went in my sister had a list of others she found online (as did I) and we gave them to the Consultant. The dress I came for was good, but not "THE ONE" however my sister and I both had another style from Mori Lee on each of our lists!! And as it turned out that was "THE ONE". Travelling the hour back and forth to Buffalo wasn't a big deal, they were always very accommodating and their location is right off the I390 so that made it easy. When the alterations needed to be done they made sure I was totally satisfied with every aspect of how the dress looked. I feel because it was a smaller non fancy shop they catered more to me then their needs. One of the fancy stores I went to made me feel like I didn't belong there (Like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman). I am a big girl and probably didn't fit their idea of a bride. But Bridal Belle was awesome from the first time I walked in, to the last day I walked out with my beautiful dress. read more

This was my first experience wedding dress shopping besides watching it on TV, which makes this experience even worse. My friend is getting married next year and the 4 of us went here so she could try on dresses. The day was already dreary and rainy but walking into this place probably made it more depressing. The warm welcome wasn't as warm as we expected, the cabinet full of dolls kind of creeped me out but that's besides the point. My friend explained what she was looking for and her price range and then we were told to sit in the corner and wait, so we obliged. She eventually walked out in a pretty decent dress (not the one) but when she was going to stand on the pedestal they brought out this little round stool for her to stand on. We were afraid if she moved she was going to fall off and rip it! Really? You don't have actual step up areas that you can at least feel secure if you turn around? There was no music, no fuzzy feeling to the place. After talking to the wedding specialist, I wanted to go because she didn't seem interested in helping her since her budget was on the lower side. The woman didn't even ask if she wanted to try anything else on with a slightly higher price range or do anything to encourage her to keep looking. She tried on 3 dresses and then it was well your price range is kind of small sorry about that, good luck. Don't visit, there are probably better places in the area that feel more warm and welcoming. read more

My best friend is getting married, so this is one of the stops we made in our search for bridesmaid dresses. It is a small store on W. Henrietta Rd. When you walk in, they will ask you to take off their boots so salt doesn't get tracked in. You should call and make an appointment, because it is a smaller boutique. They offer an array of sizes, and if you have a bridal party that is larger, they do carry some plus sized options. If they don't have the dress in the color you want, they will bring out swatches of the other colors the dress comes in. The seating area is nice for the party of moms and friends that come with you. This is way better than getting crammed into a room like David's. I think that the associates are very respectful of the given price ranges, and in our experience they didn't try to sell up. read more

This is one of the three stores in Rochester that carries the brand my sister picked out for her bridesmaids dresses. I wanted to do some pre-shopping before everyone actually picked out their dresses to purchase so it was easier to make a decision. This place was pretty easy to find and has ample parking. It is a good size for a small locally owned bridal shop. I walked in and there were a few associates willing to help me out right away. I asked them tos how me the Jordan dresses and was a little disappointed seeing that they did not have a lot of dresses in that brand in their store. I wound up going to the register with a sales associate to see what dresses they had in the store in the fabric my sister picked out. The store did not have any in that fabric so I left without trying any dresses on. The sales associate who helped me out was very nice and helpful. The store is very clean and open making it easy to find dresses and search through the racks. They also had a lot of dresses to look at. Other than not having the dresses that I needed to look at, the only negative that I can think of off the top of my head is that the person helping me was chewing gum which is fine but it is not fine to chomp on your gum like a cow chomps on grass. I thought it was gross and rude. If you need to look at bridesmaid dresses, this is a great option if you would like to stay away from chain stores. They also have bridal gowns but I didn't look at any so I can't give any advice towards that. read more

I am getting married!!! I have my dress but I needed a place to get my ladies their bridesmaid's dresses. I asked the Facebook group Rochester Area Wedding Swap for some advice and I was directed to try this boutique. I called them and let told the lady how many and what day I was interested in. I let me girls know and we were so excited. The day before our appointment I called and asked if we were allowed to bring champagne. I was told no because they don't like risking a spill in their shoppe. I was sad but it was a fair statement. So once we came in for our appointment, I was greeted by the manager and she asked for my information. She left and came back a few minutes later to tell me that I didn't have an appointment so they weren't prepared for my group. Shocked, I asked if they could still accommodate and they said yes. I feel like when they made this mistake they shouldn't have told me this and made me feel unwelcomed. They should have handled quietly among their staff and acted like nothing was wrong. After looking around, I realized they had nothing in the style I wanted. Nor the color. Half way through searching the manager told me that usually before the appointment someone calls the bride-to-be and asks them for more details of what they're looking for. So if they had wrote down my appointment, I would have gotten a phone call, learned they have nothing in stock that fits my wedding, and we never would have wasted two hours there. I love this place. Adrianne is amazing! This is a family run business and they have been doing it for years :) The quality of the service is outstanding! When I first contacted Bridal Belle I wanted to know if they had a dress in stock that I thought I loved. They did not have it, but they did let me know of a borrow program that the designer did so that I could try on the dress. I would just have to give a $50 deposit, but that deposit would be taken off the balance of a dress I ended up buying there. I didn't end up doing the borrow program because I ended up trying on dresses in CA and loving one, which Bridal Belle had in stock for me to try on here. Bridal Belle was the only place I called that let me know about the borrow program [and trust me I called many different places!] When I went in to try on dresses at Bridal Belle I had an idea of what I wanted. Adrianne did an excellent job of pulling similar dresses and of helping me feel comfortable. Another thing, while I was there I did not feel rushed at all and there was not pressure to buy the dress that day. Most of the dresses are somewhere out of your sight, meaning they go pull the dresses, but you can look through discontinued ones to get an idea of what you what to try on. My experience with all the staff members was extremely positive. They are nice people and really looking to make sure that you are happy with your purchase. read more

You should have an idea of what you're looking for prior to making an appointment to try on gowns as they don't let you browse through the racks... The staff is super helpful though, and are willing to let you know the designers of the gowns they sell - which is tough to find from other bridal boutiques in this area. read more

Cannot say enough good things about this place!!! Had two amazing experiences. Went the first time and was welcomed by the owner herself. We had a discussion about what I had tried on so far and what I had liked and not liked. She brought several dresses that she thought I would like. I tried on a bunch and found one I really liked. I went other places after but couldn't find the one and came back to the dress I liked and confirmed it was the one. The customer service was just spectacular. Every other place I went was honestly so bad. My company never had to put in me in a dress and I didn't have to look around at what I thought I wanted to try on. I cannot say enough good words about this shop. After having terrible luck (and terrible service) at several other shops, I stopped in here on a whim with my MOH at her suggestion. We had no appointment and were close to closing but they took us anyway with no complaint. I found a dress I liked very much and they promised to keep it on file for me. I called and ordered it a week later and asked for a black corset string rather than white and that charge WAS a little steep at $40. They also ordered me a black sash rather than the white it came with at no charge. My dress took awhile to come in (which is normal) and they called me immediately upon its arrival. I asked to speak with a seamstress about some custom alterations to it. They listened attentively and quoted me at around $450 for all alterations (tentatively, they would need the dress in front of them), including the hem and bustle. The dress arrived and it was perfect with the colored accents and when they pinned the dress down to my specifications (altering the neckline to a sweetheart and dipping the back down a little) it was exactly what I wanted. They had received the wrong sash from the dress company but it ended up working even better than the original, so they let me keep it! The alterations ended up only being $300, with the dress being just $650. I paid LESS THAN $1000 FOR A ONE OF A KIND DRESS! With my alterations and color accents, nobody else has this exact dress, which was important to me because I typically hate wedding dresses because they all look the same. Through all this, the staff was friendly, knowledgable and quick to insert their opinions when asked- for example, I brought in my jewelry and a pair of gloves that I was debating and they all happily threw in their opinions about the gloves. I was extremely disappointed with this shop. No one was smiling and no one greeted me when I walked in with my family and friends. This is supposed to be a fun occassion! I was handed a clipboard to fill out - all information I had thought I previously supplied. We were not allowed to look through the dresses - just the consultant, whom didn't even introduce herself. This is definitely not a positive for me, since I think my family knows my style better than a stranger. We were rushed in and out in 45 minutes, even though the website stated a normal appointment lasted close to two hours. I had an appointment on their books for over a month. Truly disappointed. I was the groom and my wife and myself had a very bad experience here. Had to return 3 separate times to retake measurements. Each subsequent visit produced bad results. On the day of the wedding the alterations to the dress length and the shirts that were ordered for the groomsman were still wrong. Additionally I chose a higher price fitted pants and ivory shirts. In three visits they never had the pants and shirts in, so I did not get to see them until the wedding day. On the day of the wedding none of the pants or shirts were the more expensive options. half the pants and shirts were xxl My groomsmen pitched in and I borrowed the best fitting pieces to make one acceptable suit for myself. It is too much to go into here, but every single detail was wrong. When I asked to see Stella she would not come out of the office. Finally when I went to pay the suits were $40 each than what we agreed upon. At that point I payed the extra for all the groomsmen, because hey it was the day the wedding. This place very nearly ruined a wedding that we saved over two years to pay for in full. No apologies, no refunds. Beware you have been warned. read more

I just stopped in to the bridal bell shop on Monday to look for gowns. I had not set up an appointment but Bonnie had me all set up in a matter of minutes! The dresses were a little bit pricier but definitely worth it with lots of choices. (It's not just what you see in front) Bonnie took both family suggestion pulled a few then set aside time with just me to truely listen to what I wanted for MY big day, And pulled some beautiful gowns based on just my preferences as well. She was very fun and bubbly and obviously has a a ton of experience on which ones look just Right! What a wonderful experience! read more

We did NOT have a good experience there. The bridesmaids picked out a dress style and color, but they only had it in one size. Everyone was measured to determine the size to order. The "consultant" then insisted that the dresses ran small, so they were talked into ordering a larger size than they normally wore. The dresses came in and were the wrong color. No one complained, the wedding was a month away and it took 2-3 months to get the dresses after the fitting. But, you guessed it. All the dresses were too large and they needed major work to make them fit. Besides the dress cost, which was high, each bridesmaid had to pay an extra $85 to take them in. One dress had to have about 5" of material taken out. Needless to say, the dress did not really look that good when remade. Oh but, additional adjustments would cost more $$$s. I must say walking into the store I didn't see many dresses that caught my eye. When my consultant asked me what i was looking for she said I know exactly what you have in mind and pulled 3 dresses for me. To make a long story short I found my dream dress that day, it was maybe the 4th dress i tried on. I added cap sleeves to the dress and they came out absolutely stunning, they have made me feel extra special every step of the way. read more

This was the creepiest and most hurtful shopping trip of my life! I went here to find the dress with my mother and aunt. There was another girl there as well who was spending between 2 and 4 thousand for her dress. She was a bigger girl like me so that was comforting as I thought there would be no trouble finding a dress that would fit. She got to use the room with three ceiling to floor mirrors and a cushion to stand on so she could really look at her dress. They even had a separate room to go into for her change. Everyone in her party got to sit comfortably in chairs and had a good time. Now, let me tell you about my experience. When we got there we were made to wait 20 minutes to be seen. We were then ushered into a room, a dirty, dark, ugly room and told to wait there. Oh, and did I mention that they wanted me to get naked and stand there with everyone else in the room? I felt like one of those poor women in 18th century England on display at the surgeons college! I was then asked my size and budget. When I told them the ladies looked horrified and said,"We will see if we can find something that will fit you..." How rude! I just saw a girl twice my size having the time of her life and you treat me like this, just because I don't have thousands to spend on a dress?! Well they came back another 20min later with dresses which wer not what I described, way out of my price range and told me to try and wrestle into one. Oh God the horror! I got into all of them but had to look at myself in the dirty, ill lit mirror with everyone else embarrassed and upset behind me. The whole time they pushed these dress and and accessories on me acting like getting in my underwear in front of my mother and aunt shouldn't bother me. I left early and had to cry in the parking lot! Fortunately David's Bridal swooped in to save my day and I purchased my dress from them. read more

Shopping with my step daughter for her gown. Had an appointment here for 2pm last Saturday. This will be the third shop we have visited. First impressions, the shop is outdated. The dresses which are visible look like something out of the 80's. Bride to be chats with consultant (woman maybe my age) gives her some info about herself, her tastes, her preferences, etc. Okay, they go back to pull gowns. After an eternity they come out and the look on my step daughter's face says it all. The gown is enormous and even with the "clips" they use to make it fit, looks like a bad dream. Material is awful, style is completely unflattering and my step daughter just looks crestfallen. We all talk some more, they go back. After about 20 minutes they come out again. Dress #2 is no better than #1. And the bride's face is telling me that she just does not feel good about herself. This repeats several more times. I tell the consultant that bride has liked the strapless full ballgowns she has tried on. At which point the consultant tells me "well, she said she wanted sleeves so that's what I brought her" Fine, no need to get defensive. Just switch this up and put a smile back on bride's face! This does not get any better. Consultant basically just looks at us and says "oh, well, sorry we couldn't help you". Yet at NO POINT did she actually try the style we asked her to show us! I know my step daughter. She was going to take this experience and mull it over in her mind for the next week or longer. She was going to believe that it was HER that was the problem and not the gowns. It is now after 3 pm on a Saturday and other salons close at 5. From the car we desperately try to get her another appointment somewhere else. Luckily we did. And we BOUGHT a dress!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!! I got my bridemaids dress here and I let my girls pick their own style. They called me and informed me that one of the dresses would be off in color. I drove all the way up to their shop (which is about 40 minutes from me) and went thru the colors. The girl there assured me that the two colors i had chosen would be VERY close. She said that it wouldn't be noticeable in difference only if you were looking for it since two of the other girls would have a mix of chivon and satin it would all blend. the dresses came in (2 weeks before the wedding and i was informed by postcard) and the one dress was WAY off! like 4 shades lighter. I called them to inquire what had happened and they were snotty telling me I would have to talk to the ordering person. She called me back (2 days later) and proceeded to tell me why I was wrong and they were right and the things her girls said to me they would not say. My MOH also called not knowing that I has spoke to them and they told her on the phone (which we recorded) that I was lying!! ARE U KIDDING ME??? worst service DO NOT GO THERE! TRUST ME if there is a mistake they will not help you and it will be too late now I have no choice but to have a bridesmaid that is going to be off... read more

I am the maid of honor in a wedding that just too place yesterday and I have to report our horrible bridesmaid experience! ALL of the girls (there were 5 so this is not a fluke) who were in the wedding had issues with their dresses that used the seamstress at Bridal Belle. First of all, they order your dress about two sizes too big so you HAVE to have your dress taken in. What kind of scam is this? We didn't know it at the time, as we thought maybe the dresses run small. We all paid good money, $78 or more, to have our dresses hemmed and taken in. The first time you go to retrieve your dress, surprise, surprise they aren't ready. Either they forgot to hem your dress or they forgot to take you in. When I went to pick my dress on after a second visit, the ladies were almost surprised that I wanted to try mine on and I'm glad I did! When I tried it on I found that my top was not taken in at all. It was like they had actually forgotten to take the dress in. The seamstress' solution? Sew a button to my dress and my bra and snap me in! I told her I still felt uncomfortable, but they hustled me out the door. I should have stood my ground but at the time I felt like maybe I was making a big deal out of nothing. Fast forward to the day before the wedding with two bridesmaids who had just gotten in to town. They go to pick up their dresses and lo and behold they don't fit. The tops again were way too loose. They fell completely off the girls' bodies! Luckily, the "seamstress" was able to work on it the night before and the girls had to pick them up the day of the wedding. Are you kidding me? One girl was completely missing the snap at the back of the dress and we had to use a safety pin so her back wasn't completely exposed! I ended up calling the store on the day of the wedding to complain on all of our behalf. Celeste, the manager DOES NOT take any responsibility. I explain that I am very unhappy, that the work was shoddy, that we all had issues. She does not apologize, reimburse or do anything a manager would normally do in this type of situation where the customer is unhappy. Instead she puts the blame on me telling me that we should have gone back a 3rd or 4th time to get my dress. Really lady? How about you do the work right the first time? I will never ever go back there again! My advice? STAY FAR AWAY from this place with the horrible quality dresses and customer service. read more
