No need to put a positive spin on this locally owned business. This place provides an excellent service and a friendly environment. Anabel has altered many of my outfits from designer wear to everyday wear. She is good with all materials, silk, linen, polyester, denim, cotton, and more. She has altered three gowns for me, a suit, many pants, shirts, and repaired garments. She is always smiling and takes great pride in her work. Her prices are more than fair for the service she provides. She finishes the alterations in a reasonable time frame, has never missed a deadline, and sends a reminder text when they are ready. I can't say how the fees stack up to other alterations shops, and I don't care because what Anabel provides me is confidence and completion. Custom fit clothing is always better! I happened to see this location while driving by on San Marcos Blvd. I went in with a pair of jeans and a formal satin dress to have altered. Anabel greeted me with enthusiasm to help! She made sure I felt comfortable with sizing and talked through my needs. All the while she was so genuine and conversational, it made the experience that much better. 4 stars for quality of work, 1 star for customer service and how I was treated by one seamstress. :( Overall, I don't recommend this business as a tailor you can trust to get the job done in time or to treat you respectfully. I'm disappointed because their shop is so cute and I found both ladies very friendly the first two times I came in. I brought my dress in for the first time in January, and asked them to do two things: remove some of the fabric from the underarm area of the dress where it was rubbing me. and move the straps from the top of the dress to be off-the-shoulders. I went back in April for my next fitting, and they had taken out some of the material from under the arms nicely, but had not moved the straps at all and didn't seem to remember that I had ever asked for that. I was disappointed but figured it was okay because my wedding is not until mid-June, and they pinned the straps off-the-shoulder how I wanted them, and said they would do that for the next fitting. I came back today (June 2) for my last fitting, and I was disappointed again to find out that they had still not move the straps. When the one seamstress came back, I told her very calmly that they had not moved the straps, and she turned very nasty towards me. She said the straps were originally off-the-shoulder, and then they moved them to the top, and now I wanted them to move them again off-the-shoulder. I told her that I had pictures from both previous fittings, that they had never been off-the-shoulder and that they had agreed to move them and pinned them for me. She continued to argue that that wasn't true, but she said to take off the dress and they'd move the straps right then for me. It only took 15 minutes for the other seamstress to move the straps, and she treated me very nicely. However, the final job wasn't exactly how we'd talked about (and how she'd pinned the dress) at the first two fittings. It would probably have taken her more time to do it the way I wanted, but I didn't have time to wait today and honestly didn't trust them to actually do it if I left the dress with them again, as my wedding is in two weeks. The second seamstress showed me how to use fashion tape to have the straps sit right in the back, so I think it'll look good enough for the wedding. . . If it were just an honest mistake that they twice forgot to move the straps and had apologized, it would be frustrating but I wouldn't have minded that much. I'm only upset that the first seamstress gaslit me and treated me so rudely and unprofessionally. They had also originally said they would steam/press the dress for me before the wedding so it would be wrinkle-free and ready to go, but today they just gave me the dress back, and I didn't want to leave it there anymore anyway. I paid $200, which would've been fair had the alterations been done how we had agreed and had they steamed/pressed the dress for me, but I feel like the final product was not worth it and the experience was very upsetting and stressful. The second seamstress who worked on my dress was nice and treated me politely. I hope the first seamstress's customer service improves for the sake of their business. If you do go here, I recommend having them *write down EXACTLY* what you want them to do and have your own copy also. read more

Did not honor quote. Raised price $50 . Then refused to fit or pin the dress properly. They didn't want my business since they had gotten busier and were horribly rude and unprofessional. They laughed and said go elsewhere when I simply asked why they didn't pin for the hem. I did go elsewhere and was treated with respect, was fitted properly, saved money and got earlier delivery of the bridesmaid dress. read more

Amaxing Fit makes you feel at home and comfortable. They are the sweetest ladies ever and make you feel like the most beautiful person in the room. Their quality of tailoring is unquestionable. They tailored my wedding dress for me beautifully then I changed my shoes and had a Last minute crisis with my dress being too long THE DAY BEFORE my wedding . I called them in panic and they calmed me down told me to bring it in. I brought it in around 11am and they had it done the next day at 10am... and it was PERFECT . I literally wouldn't be able to walk in my wedding dress if it wasn't for their help. read more

These ladies are not only fabulous at alterations, they are a joy to work with. I've known them for over 10 years, met when they worked for another alterations company, so glad that they have established their own business. Love the decor, very well designed and with ample space, has the feel of a boutique, and no problem finding parking. During the years, I had multiple dresses and jeans altered, all coming out exactly how I wanted, from simple hem alterations to making complicated adjustments, always pleased with their workmanship. Would not go anywhere else or trust anyone else with my dresses or jeans as they are mostly on the expensive side. So glad I found these ladies again!! read more

Anabel and Cece have been helping me with my alterations for over 15 years so when they started their own business I couldn't have been more happy for them! Cece altered my wedding gown perfectly and hand stitched hundreds of Swavarski crystals on the bodice to give it the extra sparkle I wanted. We had a wedding gown emergency and Anabelle did an AMAXING job fixing the shoddy work of another tailor. She saved my daughter's wedding day. My daughter bought her beautiful gown pre-Covid and it sat at ANOTHER tailor's shop for a year, after being fitted and pinned. When she picked up the altered gown 5 weeks before the July 2021 wedding--it was so skin tight, it looked terrible. The lovely crepe and lace material was supposed to skim her hips, not be plastered to them. It was so tight, her pubic bone showed through the fabric and the material puckered at the hips and made the straps gape. The tailor said there was nothing she could do--and even insulted her by saying my daughter must have gained weight (she did not--medical records can prove it). We then went to two reputable tailor shops and were told they couldn't help us because the first seamstress trimmed the extra material. We were then referred to Anabelle at AMAXING FIT--who immediately calmed our frazzled nerves and said she could help us. Anabelle and her assistant worked their magic and just days before the wedding, when my daughter tried on the re-altered gown, it fit like a dream. Anabelle's adorable shop is new and nice and clean and she has the most wonderful personality, service and SKILLS!! And her prices are honest and reasonable. I plan to return so that she can re-make the favorites from my closet after losing weight. read more

All I can say is wow! I ordered a skirt from amazon and the zipper was broken and it was too late to return it. They replaced it and even put a clasp on for me. The zipper blends so well with my skirt. My zipper then broke on my favorite pair of jeans and they replaced it with an even better one for my big booty lol. Phenomenal little spot. Owned by two very funny friendly women who are extremely charismatic and knowledgeable on fitting. I took a sweater four slacks and a zipper repair sweater fits perfectly, slacks look like million bucks and the new zipper they put on looks better than the original. Plus they color matched it.
