I was instructed to arrive when the store opens, and theycould have my pants ready by the end of business day. I was referred to Primo Alterations by a friend who had her wedding dress altered here a few years ago. Just picked up two formal dresses that needed alterations and they now both fit like a glove! One needed to be let out and the other needed the straps shortened. Lua altered both dresses and is sweet, personable, and talented. She finished both dresses well before their expected date. Carolina and Joseph, the owners are friendly and you can tell why their business has been around for awhile. I had my wedding dress consultation with Isis. Today I arrived with amazing service and welcome with a smile . Mr Joseph and Lua was very professional and very clean establishment

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Not only do they intentionally rip brides off and overcharge, but they will absolutely RUIN your clothes!! A few months ago I went in to have the length of my wedding dress taken up. Keep in mind that this was a very simple dress, two layers of tulle that didn't require a hem, and two underneath layers that needed a hem. That's it. I arrive at Primo with my dress, my husband and step son's dress slacks and my husband's white French cuffed dress shirt. All brand new right from the store, never worn. Mind you, the shirt was a $70 custom ordered shirt (we paid $60 because they had a 4th of July special when we bought it). I put them on the counter, telling the woman helping me that I just wanted them pressed. Went into the dressing room to put on my dress and after coming out, I was told that the alterations for just the hem would be $660 and another $180 to press the dress (which I never asked for). I literally was in shock!!!! That was more than the cost of my dress!! Never in my life (and this was my second wedding) have I ever heard of alterations being that much for a hem!! WTF. I literally quietly walked back into the dressing room in absolute tears and told them that I could not afford that. It took me a moment to stop sobbing before heading back out of the dressing room. But when I came out, both women that were helping me were for sure hiding in the back. I would be too if I had just quoted someone such an obscene price. Then I walked to front to where I had left my other items to get pressed. The man at the counter said to me "is Wednesday okay?" And I said "yes, I just want these pressed". He handed me the ticket and I left. Wednesday rolls around and I go to pick up the two pants and shirt. The items get hung up next to the register and as I'm paying I look over and notice through the plastic that the dress shirt has hard line wrinkles in it. The cuffed sleeves were unfolded and laid flat and I pointed the wrinkles out to the woman. She offered for me to leave the shirt and her mother would touch it up on Friday. I told her I'd rather take it to someone else and she refunds me the $4.80 for the service of the shirt. I get home and take the shirt out of the bag to get a better look and what do I discover?! THE SHIRT IS RUINED!!!! Literal burn marks/yellow stains all over it, weird fuzz or hairs, and fine and hard wrinkles pressed into the shirt!!! I was in disbelief!!! A brand new shirt destroyed!! I contacted Primo immediately, left a voicemail and sent an email. The shirt also smelled sour. I DID NOT ask for the shirt to be "dry cleaned" if you could even call it that at this point but it was clear that's what they attempted to do. Also, how does a place that specializes in cleaning, altering and caring for clothing, not even understand how to press French cuffed sleeves either! Insane. I told them they should replace the shirt or the cost of the shirt because this was for my wedding, that was in 2 1/2 weeks and I probably wouldn't have time to get a new custom ordered shirt. So the response I get from the owner was insane, unethical, argumentative and disrespectful. He completely tried to gaslight me and basically told me that I should be glad I wasn't charged for the cleaning of the shirt, that the shirt was in better condition than when I brought it in (how the hell is that possible when it was a BRAND NEW NEVER WORN SHIRT) and that I told him I wanted it dry cleaned. Not true. He said that it was inspected when it arrived back in the store (which means they send out customers clothes and don't even do it themselves) and that it looked perfect. Not sure who inspected it but they clearly are blind. Anyone could see the very obvious complete destruction of the shirt!! (Don't worry I have photos - which do not even do it justice) You see, the owner of a business should be accountable when they ruin someone's items. And I gave them an opportunity to do the right thing, but they refused and acted like this was my fault. Back to the dress alterations. I take my dress to another shop that was recommended to me by multiple people. As I'm telling the woman about my experience, she says "where was this at?" And I tell her "Primo". The look on her face said it all. She tells me that she has had several brides tell her an almost identical story, some of them being quoted $800-900!! She goes on to tell me that she had just sat next to the owners of Primo at a convention and was so angry she had to move seats because they were sitting there laughing and talking about how easy it is to rip people off and overcharge brides because "brides are desperate and will pay whatever you tell them". INSANE. I got my alterations done and decided to add a bustle and the total was $280. That's a reasonable price and the woman did a great job and was so sweet. I was very happy with I went with her services and not Primo's. Moral of the story is this: DO NOT GO TO PRIMO!! read more

They have done simple hems and complicated alterations - all fantastic quality. Lua always helps me figure out what the garment needs to look best on me. For the dress in the picture (which is a fully sequenced and has a thick inner lining) it needed hem on the sleeves, skirt, and taking in quite a bit. She made it perfect! I would also like to add that when i called, a Karolina or Caralina answered and quite rudely shutdown my inquiry about if they do short turnaround service let alone cut me off and hung up on me when i simply wanted to ask a further question if they did know any cleaners locally that could get my dress white jumper top rocker sewn and dry cleaned within a short turn around. this business certainly seems like it has potential and other good reviews but this interaction and call certainly isn't a good look, hopefully this was a one-off incident and not a culture issue within this business. Excellent work on our altered garments for my son's wedding. My son suit fits him very nicely . My dress was expertly shortened. The Tailor also added few stitches because the leg slit was too deep for my taste. She fixed a stitch on the spot, that came out while I was trying on the dress alterations. My husband was also pleased with his alterations which was shortening his sleeves on his jacket as well as altering and hemming his pants. I would recommend primo alterations to anyone. It was more expensive than we originally thought it might be but I also wanted a lot done and they were completely transparent about price, there were no surprises! Without going into too much detail, I took an heirloom shirt in, which I had found discarded, rumpled, with parts falling off and covered in dog hair. They were incredibly understanding and kind. $27 later, I had a completely renovated shirt in pristine condition which I can keep for posterity. My brother was a champion bowler in 1980, and I found his bowling shirt from that era 500 miles away in a thrift store. But it ended up in that condition and I was heartbroken. But I took a deep breath, trusted them, and it was worth it. I've had terrible experiences with tailors before, but this one exceeded my expectations. I'm super happy . It was a bit pricey, but the quality made it worth every penny. The lady was nice and efficient, and I was in and out quickly. However, what almost threw me off was her initial hesitation in figuring out how to tailor my dress. At one point, it made me feel uncertain, as if she wasn't confident in her ability to do it. But she took on the challenge and ultimately did a great job - I was happy with the result. When I went to picked it up they had asked if I wanted to try it on but I trusted them enough to not try it on and I was not disappointed.
