I came here on Saturday 4/11/26 for a private appointment to find my wedding dress. My bridal assistant was the lovely Dolores. I showed her my wedding dress inspo/visions and she delivered. I put all of my trust in her. She was absolutely fantastic. Coming into this appointment I didn't know what to expect and I didn't expect to leave with a dress purchase, especially since it was my 1st ever wedding dress appointment! Funny enough, I did not like any of the dresses that were on my vision board, due to this Dolores figured out my style rather quickly. She was kind, understanding, and she listened to my needs and wants. She asked me my budget, my bra size, pants size, tops size, etc. I felt extremely comfortable with her I could go on and on about how fantastic she was. When I found "the dress" she put veils on me and crowns to try and also gave me a bouquet to practice walking down the aisle. It was such an amazing experience. Absolutely amazing! From the second we walked in we were greeted by Danielle and she was very helpful and accommodating! We were able to get a same day appointment. I was paired with my amazing Bridal consultant Alyson. Not only was she a pleasure to work with but she read the room and fit mine and my bridal party's vibe instantly. From answering all of my questions to being attentive was everything I could ever wanted in a bridal consultant I walked in with no inspo and she took her time to work with me and show me all the dresses that could fit my style and took me out of my comfort zone to try new things. When I look back in the years to come, Dolores will always be remembered as the fairy godmother behind my wedding. I came in on a Friday night, an hour before closing, asking if I could just browse the racks. I was told there wasn't an appointment available, but that someone could show me around. Within a minute of meeting Dolores, she pointed out a dress that was exactly my vision. When I told her that my wedding was a month away, on an expedited timeline due to medical issues, she immediately sprung into action and put me in a fitting room, assuring me that she would help me. Cue the sobbing from me and my mom. I don't know what Dolores was supposed to be doing at that time, but I do know that I never felt like I didn't have her full attention and expertise. I truly felt like it was fate that I met her. Immediately, she pulled dresses that fit my *very specific* vision and had me trying styles on within minutes. Earlier that day, I'd been trying on dresses I'd ordered online that were too small or unflattering, and had never felt worse. In every style Dolores pulled for me, my body looked better than it ever had. We found my dress (with some additional magic - read: permission - from the store owner) *and* Dolores and the alterations team were able to get me in for a fitting within days. It was a whirlwind, filled with tears and sighs of relief, and it was all thanks to Dolores. Her compassion, her empathy, and her kindness. Great selection of dresses for plus size queens! This was my third bridal store I went to to try on dresses and I was not feeling optimistic but boy am I glad I went! They had a huge variety of designs and fits and not one dress I wanted to try on was out of my size! That's a huge plus! Dresses are customized-able so if there's something you don't like they often can remove it and alter to your dream dress Their dressing rooms and area for guests are so comfortable and cute , they truly made it a great experience, I had Carmen as our sales rep and she was AMAZING! She heard all my needs and brought dresses to match them perfectly She helped this experience so much and I truly appreciate her, They told me about all costs and time frames right in the beginning so there was no surprises. I did find just one dress I found TWO! Loved this place! The customer service is amazing and so is the collection of dresses in stock in MY size. Carmen was my stylist and was absolutely amazing. It was my first time so she allowed me to try on sooo many! I didn't want to make a decision just from my first shop. Absolutely loved my experience at Brides by Young! I have been following them on Instagram for about two years & so excited they were opening a NJ location! I love how interactive they are on social media-part of why I started following them! I work two jobs and they were very accommodating helping me change my appointment 4 times. The location is ideal-right on 17 in Rochelle Park. The space is absolutely stunning. Clean, spacious, gorgeous, comfortable and relaxing setting. The music matches the mood-soft singable songs about falling in love. The workers are amazing!! I came in alone today & was assisted by stylist Novie. She picked a great selection of dresses based off our conversation about me and my wedding and knocked it out the park! Absolutely stunning dresses all that fit me perfectly. The selection of dresses is extensive! The most I have ever seen in a bridal shop. The best part was I felt beautiful and comfortable the entire time. just nowNEW I will start this off by saying I had a wonderful time shopping for a gown here and I had the pleasure of working with Carmen. She was nothing short of excellent. She made the experience fun and exciting and helped me find the gown of my dreams, or so I thought. She deserves 5 stars however the store does not and that is where my amazing experience with Brides by Young NJ ends. I live an hour and a half away. My dress shopping appointment was on a Saturday. Fast forward six months later, I was informed that my dress was ready to be picked up; it was at that point in time that I was told I could not come in on a Saturday. I work full time so I had to take time off from work to pick up my dress. It was also then that I learned no alterations could be done on weekends. It was disappointing that this store was not willing to try and accommodate me for a weekend pickup/alterations. After much thought and consideration, I chose to have Brides By Young do the alterations on my dress (because I thought it would be perfect.) I was told the alterations would start at $850. As if this is not excessive enough, during my fitting appointment, I was informed this particular dress would be a minimum of $1,000. No one told me about that when I was trying it on originally. Nevertheless, I paid and finalized everything with the gown. Unfortunately, it did not turn out the way I hoped and I am not looking forward to wearing it. The sleeves actually look like they were cut by a child. It seems like once they completed the sale and took my money, they were no longer interested in assisting me as a customer. I advise out of state brides to make sure they have the time (and money) to be able to come back during the week only and expect to be informed of monetary increases while you're there. As I said initially, I was very pleased with my gown shopping experience with Carmen at Brides by Young NJ. Last weekend I went wedding gown shopping with my mom, sister, cousin, and bestie in New Jersey and New York. As a plus size bride, I did some research to make sure the shops I went to had sample sizes that would fit my body... especially after I went to one shop closer to home where the woman told me to put the gown up to my body to get an idea of how it looked . We went to The Curvy Bride, Kleinfeld, and Brides by Young. Every single shopping consultant was wonderful, but Delores at Brides by Young... she was just special. She asked me what I wanted, how much I wanted to spend, and made sure she got my feelings first before considering those of my bridal team. We walked the floor and she showed me some ideas and then asked me to trust her. Well, I'm glad I did because the first dress she brought me was the one I ended up picking in the end. When we tried my final selection on once more Delores got me a bouquet and prepared a veil she thought would compliment my gown nicely. I was shocked by how beautiful it all looked. I easily tried on 50 gowns in total between Friday and Saturday before finding MY gown at Brides by Young. Before that one, there were a bunch that I liked and some that I loved... but MY gown- she made me cry tears of happiness that I never thought I would feel when seeing myself in a wedding gown. Delores was amazing, attentive, supportive, and became a part of team bride instantly. Even since I selected my gown, I have called to ask questions and she has been there 100%. From the very first phone call, I knew this was the place I needed to go to find my dream dress. Other places I called sounded rude or made me feel like I was bothering them, however Brides By Young was the complete opposite, the happiness and positive energy I was able to feel just through the phone. They told me they only cater to plus size brides and have the largest selection out of any other store I would come across. I made an appointment with them last month and went with my FMIL and 2 of my MOHs. From the moment we walked in, the staff made me feel like a princess. Alyson was in charge of my session and she was an absolute superstar. Being a plus size bride I never thought I could feel this comfortable and she put me at complete ease throughout the entire experience. My mother was not able to go due to covid (she lives in SC) so they brought out a device which they placed the cell phone on so she can see the entire experience with us. I gave Alyson the breakdown of the kind of dresses I was interested in and did an amazing job pulling out all the dresses that fit my taste and the style I was going for. Eventually I said yes to a gorgeous dress and I couldn't be happier! She also pulled a beautiful veil to match with my dress and I just felt absolutely amazing. At the end of the experience they gave me a bottle of champagne since we couldn't drink in the store due to covid which was very sweet. My first dress shopping experience at another store was less than ideal so I was nervous going into this appointment, especially as a plus size bride. Turns out I had absolutely no reason to be! From the moment I contacted the store everyone was warm, professional, and so excited for me to find my dress. They checked in regularly before my appointment to answer any questions and make sure the dresses I wanted to try were in stock. Danielle was so helpful with this process. When I got there for my appointment, Rebecca was an absolute ANGEL. Right away she totally understood my aesthetic and vision and pulled the most stunning, flattering gowns. I've never felt so beautiful. She made the whole process fun, relaxing, and memorable and really helped me figure out which gown was for me. Had the most amazing experiece at Brides by Young. Once I got enaged I knew right away I wanted to go to them. For years I would see the beautiful dresses online. Once I arrived to the shop, I was asked what I wanted to try on that day. I told them I want a train for days and no simple dress please. &&& boy did they deliver! They put me in the second dress and I simply fell in love. I tried on other dresses but they knew I was in love with that dress. I didn't want to say yes to the dress beause my mom wasn't there. I was originally very pleased with the whole process of finding a Mother of the Groom dress here, but that turned bad quickly. I tried on a size 18 gown which fit except alittle tight in the midsections of the gown and was offered if I liked the dress and I loose alittle weight I could take the gown home with me. I decided to order the size suggested after being measured just in case I didnt loose the weight. Unaware of the size ordered because I took the "professional" opinion of the person helping me and the Manager Danielle. I paid for the dress in FULL upon checking out that day in order to have the dress ordered and left the store. A few weeks later my dress was in, excited to go try it on I made an appointment to go for my fitting and also asked about making an appointment for the streamstress as well, and Dolores advised me that the seamstress if ONLY for the Brides, but she will ask the manager to make an exception. I picked up the dress VERY UNHAPPY on a Tuesday, on Saturday after NOT sleeping for days I went back to the store with my dress and asked to try the one I tried on in the store. I tried it on in a size 18 as I did one day 1, the dress fit great, then I out the dress that was ordered for me a size 24!!!! I looked like I had a hefty bag on and if I didnt hold it up it would fall right off. I had asked the manager if I could swap the dress ordered for me for the one in the store and she told me NO SORRY we dont do exchanges and you signed for that dress the day you ordered it, that is YOUR DRESS!! Mind you this was on her recommendation that the size 24 was ordered. I then asked if I could purchase the dress in the store ($575) and I was then told yes for the $575 PLUS $100 restock fee which was NOT an option on day one if I wanted to leave the store with it in hand. WEll at this point she then told me that she was confident the seamstress could make it fit and look fine and the she wouldnt allow the alterations go over $500 WTF!!!! I left the store with an appointment on the following Thursday with the seamstress. On Monday, I call the dress designer directly Color Dress in Moonachie NJ and asked them for websites that they sell their dresses to so that if I ordered one I am positive I will get their dress and not a knockoff. I was given a few websites. I ordered the dress in my size from NEWYORKDRESS.COM at $395 much cheaper than the $575 I originally paid. I had the dress altered to fit perfectly from a local Tailor and am VERY HAPPY!!! I never went back to Bridals by Young in Rochelle Park, NJ and never will again. I am now stuck with a $575 gown that I can NEVER wear and have to try to sell on my own. BEWARE of this store, that is my bottom line. My daughter got engaged in July and we scheduled a bridal appointment at a small boutique near me. I just will say it was less than expected and quite disappointing. The opportunity to find a gown that fit a larger size bride was easy at Brides by Young. Allison did a fantastic job with the try own, the ultimate selection and the gown. The challenge came with the alterations. They were very expensive, as she needed a lot done, and they were not done to our satisfaction. But we were 3 weeks away from the wedding. We took the dress home and needed to have it altered again prior to the wedding. I would suggest you find an alternate seamstress if you find a gown there. I will say I really wanted to like this place. I had seen them about a year before I got engaged on IG in one of their 2 midwest stores. I remember wanting to fly there because they had 400+ dresses for plus size women starting at size 12. I really liked that because being plus size, I wanted to make sure I had a positive experience in this department. So, the cheapest dress in the store is $1800 I believe (or very close to that number). They tell everyone alterations start at $750-$850. A basic hem and strap alterations ended up costing me over $1000. They are swindlers. When I bought my gown, Young herself fitted me and told me I wouldn't pay more than $500 for simple alterations. So I was promised by the OWNER of 3 boutiques (who is also a designer), that I'd pay $500. Fine with me at that point. That's about the going rate. When I called to make an alterations appointment, they told me alterations then started at $750. Annoyed, I just went with it. Then I had to cancel and reschedule due to COVID, and then the next time (5 months later), they said $850! It was a different number every time I talked to a different person. Then...I suck it up, go for my alterations and that day 1, the seamstress cut my dress (while on me) before I even agreed to pay for my alterations when I got it done. So I had no choice but to use them. And then it was $1000. Everyone was a liar. Also, my dress came 2 months late. Thank god we had to postpone because of covid, but it would have been almost too late for alterations because of the 2 months late. (Took 9 months total to get it). Allure Couture dresses are not super rare...I do not recommend this place. I went to other bridal boutiques and my experience was better. I never felt swindled at all and they were all cheaper for designer gowns. I blame myself for getting caught up in the facade of plus size dresses only store and not going back to the other place that could get a dress in my size and would have saved over $1000. I paid more than some girls even pay for their dress in alterations and I still feel terrible about it. **I will say the people who work here are super nice to your face at least, and it's a good body positive experience for sure, so it's not the people who make it terrible, it's the experience start to finish as a whole that made this terrible with the lying. read more

We got engaged in July and had our wedding in February. When I first called to make an appointment, they immediately informed me of the price point of the boutique as well as the fact that it was a plus size bridal store. That worked out well for me because I'm plus sized! LOL. The actual consultation was fabulous. Allison helped me find a gorgeous gown. Almost everything she pulled looked good on me - it just came down to a matter of style. I did not feel coerced into buying a gown; however, I wanted my future mother-in-law to be there for the final seal of approval. At that point, I was told I wouldn't have much time since it was already September and the wedding was coming up and I should buy ASAP however, if I were to come back, there's a $150 fee for their time. I thought that was ridiculous because I was not looking to try on other gowns. I was sure that I found my dress and I wanted everyone who was most special to me to be there. After talking to the manager, she said she would waive that fee as long as I do buy my dress from there. As expected, I came back and purchased the gown. I also ordered a bra/ corset and was pretty happy with my overall experience. My mom, sister, mother-in-law and myself were told their alterations are UP TO $750 because I'm a tall bride and it might even cost less. Once we got my gown in December, the seamstress who already cut the gown within the first 2 minutes of our fitting said it would cost $900. The manager (who is great) came back with Allison who immediately said she insisted that they "start at" $750." She then said "sorry if I misunderstood." I guess we all must have misunderstood because all four of us heard the same thing. I even asked pricing questions and we talked more at length about it. I felt it was really condescending and let her know that. I don't care what the cost is but did not appreciate the lack of transparency. The seamstress was nice until you ask her a question or challenge if something might look better. She gets very defensive of her work. When my dress was clipped when I tried it on, it was much tighter and had a different shape. I think she left my gown a little too loose around the waist and breasts (see 3rd photo). I did voice that but then was told when I sit down, I'll have back fat. If that's the case, that's fine but then don't clip it one way if that's not what it's going to look like. I actually think it would've looked better without the corset too because it sucked me in and left the dress a little empty and I'm pretty sure the corset is what would've created the back fat since I don't have any but whatever! I looked beautiful in my dress, had a wonderful wedding and married my dream man. My overall experience was so-so. Just thought this review might be helpful to someone. read more

I had been to other shops that do not even come close to comparing to Brides by Young. My first visit was when the shop first opened in NJ. Alyson was just amazing in helping me find my dress. Nailed it the first try! And Young was just so kind and went above and beyond to customize my dress to my needs. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone needing a bridal dress. They carry bridesmaid and many beautiful occasion gowns also. My sister's maid of honor dress is stunning. My dress came in beyond perfect! The in-house alterations are also beyond five stars! I never imagined such a wonderful experience. I just love my dress, which is now all ready for pickup. Including a mask to match from the extra fabric. Truly such an amazing experience! I first reached out months ago to set an appt and then I had to put it off a few months--they always followed up but never pushy, really gave me my space. Well, I finally went in a couple weeks ago and have spent every single moment since staring at photos of me in my amazing dress. I worked with dolores who was absolutely such a gem. I was there with my mom and my two aunts. I specifically did not want pricing discussed in front of my aunts, and everyone was great at that. Dolores did a quick intake conversation with me and then brought me so many beautiful dresses. She said she had one particular in mind for me--and you better believe that's the one I bought!! Everyone there made me feel so beautiful and like such a bride. As a plus size woman, I was terrified for this day. I had the most AMAZING experience at Brides by Young! My mother and I traveled about 2 hours away from south Jersey and it was SO worth it! From the moment Delores from the shop called to confirm my appointment I knew it would be a great experience. The customer service was impeccable. EVERYONE we encountered was so friendly and welcoming. The ambience of the building was remarkable and the space was so clean. My consultant Rebecca was such an angel and so sweet! She took the time to get to know my needs and wants for my wedding day. She was patient, took pictures for me, allowed me to call anyone I wanted after saying yes to my dress and even videoed me in my dress on FaceTime for my future mother in law. She was also so creative and got me "out of my shell" to try on different dresses and added pieces for the look I desired. I was also so appreciative that she helped me in and out of every dress and provided me with under garments when trying on dresses. One thing that stuck out to me that Rebecca said when we first met and she was getting to know me after me telling her my awful experiences at prior bridal shops was, "You are home now". I loved my experience at the New Jersey location. Literally all of the entire staff were amazing and made my day. Delores was honestly the best consultant i could have been paired with. She was patient , helped to pick the right dress and ultimately made me feel magical. She made it her business to make sure i had the best experience . My sister came here for the first time. Her first experience trying on dresses wasn't great... But this place changed all that. They are sweet, funny , very talented . Although we had one lady assigned to us all of the beautiful ladies there were helping. They were very respectful to us and to my sisters needs they all pitched in offering advice on how to resolve any concern my sister had. After several unsuccessful attempts to find a Mother of the Bride dress, I stumbled across and add for Brides by Young in NJ, so I called. They were so friendly. My daughters and I went there in July and Alyson helped us find the perfect dress for my daughters February wedding. She is AMAZING!!! She knew exactly what I was looking for. Last night I went to pick up the dress, it was stunning. I felt like a princess in it. While there, I asked if they had any time for me to try on some additional dresses, because my second daughter is now engaged and booked a 1/22 wedding. Alyson was like OF COURSE. She helped me pick out a second Amazing Dress!! I recommend her to all of my friends. I wish I could give Alyson 10 stars, she is absolutely the best. I said yes to the dress yesterday! It was an experience I had never dreamed or thought of as a child but glad I was able to fulfill it. From the minute I walked into Brides By Young, I was at ease. The staff-- I have no words for how AMAZING the staff is! I worked with Renee and she hit it out of the park with selections. After making my bridal crew comfortable, she walked me around the store to see what dresses spoke to me. Some racks I walked right by, others I stuck around, but there was definitely a clear vision I didn't realize I had. Renee told me later that each rack she walked me by was a different designer and she was seeing which I was gravitating to before she made picks. I had photos of dresses I showed Renee but she explained because I wasn't set on a specific style (I really wasn't, it was about fit and price for me) it made her job more fun because I really could try on anything. And did I?! Three ladies brought in 2-3 dresses-- by the time they were finished I had 9 beautiful dresses to try on; all in size 34! Even when I was walking around the shop with Renee I noticed that many of the dresses displayed were size 28 or 30. And the dresses within the store windows were shown on plus size bodies! It's the little things that make the experience!!! I tried on the first two dresses and they were misses. But what I liked about Renee was how she worked up the the third one... she listened to the comments I made and then decided from there the next step. It was truly an appointment that she and I were running; I didn't feel forced to try on or go in a certain direction. The final dress I tried on and the one I will wear on my wedding day-- that moment will live with me forever because of how magical it was. I cried. For anyone who knows me they know I'm not a crier. Especially over a gown! But I did. I cried a cry of relief! Throughout all the planning of our wedding all I truly wanted was to feel and be treated like any other bride. I'm a proud plus size woman but once you say that you're getting married it's shocking the comments people make... when it came to finding my wedding dress, I wanted to be like everyone else! Have the say yes moment, be surrounded by me loved ones, be the center of attention for as much as I could handle it-- hearing "you're beautiful" as a plus size woman is still hard to hear. Hearing it yesterday felt special. Felt right. Felt like I need to demand that type of treatment more! I can't say how much the staff made me and my crew feel welcomed. At one point I got really excited (I screamed) because I found out my dress had pockets-- everyone came running because they thought something was wrong. It wasn't. But the fact that they all dropped everything to check was so sweet. I left with a bottle of bubbly and a timeline to come back and pick up my dress. For those reading who are budget strapped-- they definitely will work with you to find the perfect dress! I purchased my dress, veil, and a couple of accessories for well under my total cost I had for my dress. I'm telling you-- the staff there are genuinely lovely people! Please, if you can travel to the NJ shop run there! Don't waste time anywhere else if you're a plus size woman. I know the ones in IL are great too but I have first hand experience at the one in NJ-- Renee and Kim (she's the manager) are people you want by your side during this experience! Can't say enough about them or the store-- I won't post the photo of the dress I picked but will share in the comments the ones I didn't. Never thought I'd be able to try on dresses like these! So excited to be a Brides By Young Bride, that's where it ended after the first visit! Bought a $7,000 dress and they measured everything EXCEPT the one thing they were adding onto the dress and should have measured...the sleeves! It arrived and everything needed to be taken in except the sleeves they were way too small, no problem said the seamstress except it was. 4 visits later she quietly asked if I had something else to wear as she had to add fabric to the sleeves which added a visible seam the front and looked awful (she knew it did and frankly couldn't come up with anything better. Hmmm $7,000 for the dress, $1,200 for alterations and now I needed to start looking for a new dress!?!? Lucky enough I found one off the internet from BHLDN which was fine, yep it was fine...Honeslty, it was the saddest moment of my life. When I called to explain everything, I was not offered an apology, compensation or even a hey I know where you can sell your dress, I was told "As long as your happy", ha! BEWARE MAKE THEM MEASURE EVERYTHING AND IF IT DOESNT FIT AND THEY CANT FIX IT...THATS YOUR PROBLEM NOT THEIRS!! read more

Best experience! Alyson at the NJ location is so helpful, sweet and thoughtful. The salon is very comfortable and all of the staff were great. I had been to several other bridal salons and was having trouble finding a plus size wedding gown that felt modern and flattering, Brides by Young had the best selection out of the several salons I had visited. Atmosphere: This was a wonderful experience. I went with my mother in law, my mother, and my grandmother! Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The place is very spacious and clean! They offered us water as we waited and were super kind and easy to talk to. We walked in and spoke to the stylist Renee where I showed her my venue and we discussed the type of dress I was looking for! She was amazing! She let me go and walk around the store picking out some ideas of the type of dresses I liked! Then she came back with a wonderful selection of dresses! They have so many beautiful dresses one better then the other! Renee was so patient and truly cared about me finding the right dress. She was so helpful picking out accessories and trying to make sure I absolutely loved the dress I chose! She was wonderful and very easy to talk to! I truly felt like a princess today. I fell in love with a dress and said YES! Extra: They also have an amazing collection of strapless bras and corset sets which are amazing and can be used for anything! I definitely will order one! They also carry bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses which are beautiful! Shipping : I can't wait to get my dress, my wedding is in July, so it is super close and they truly went above and beyond to get my dress here on time! And show me dresses that not only were in my budget but would be able to get here on time! If you are looking for a dress fast this is the place to go! Alterations; They do provide alterations in house! Overall, my experience was amazing and I recommend this bridal shop 100%! They truly make you feel beautiful!
