After being under the care of a wonderful dentist in Georgia, I found Bridgetown Dental and came here because of the reviews. That was a mistake. I have been double charged and overcharged. When I ask questions about the charges, I'm met with gaslighting and confident confusion. The integrity of this place is VERY, VERY low. After months of unrest and KNOWING I've been bamboozled by Ziad and this practice, the least I could do was leave this review for the future me. Unfortunately, too many people like me will go by the reviews and not realize that the lack of integrity, not so great work (if I'm honest), and business practices of Bridgetown Dental are very shady. I have not had issues with their customer service ever, but I called today to learn about their Smile Club Membership, as I used to be a patient (about six months ago) but my insurance changed and they do not take my current plan. I was calling to see what treatments are excluded from the ten percent discount in the Membership, because I know I have some things I need done and need to determine if it's worth this membership or just staying in network. Yea they do not have any clear understanding of what is excluded, and could not provide an explain of what was included. Furthermore, I was treated like an idiot on the phone, as if my requests were unreasonable or an inconvenience. Mind you, I'm a medical case manager. I do this day in and day out. I am not impressed with whatever receptionist I just spoke to. Bummer, because the care it's self has always been great, and any other admin I've spoke with have been really helpful and kind. read more

It's very hard for me to not write a negative review so I'm just going to write a word of advice for anyone considering this dental office. Make very sure you understand the way dental insurance works. Ask for a printout of the expected charges prior to doing the work. If the dentist is a preferred provider, they must only charge you the rate that the insurance states. Meaning the dentist cannot charge their own higher rate. Even if the maximum on your policy is maxed out; they have to submit a claim to your insurance plan and bill you at the rate on the insurance policy. In Network rule: Dentists who are in network are prohibited from balance billing because they have agreed to accept the insurance's negotiated fees as payment in full (excluding co-pays and deductibles). Non covered services: If a service is not covered by insurance, the dentist may bill the patient for the entire, undiscounted amount. They cannot balance bill you. Be sure to check your dental claims after they are submitted to be sure it's been approved or denied and follow up with the insurance to have a clear understanding if it is denied. Your insurance provider can help you if you have any problems with the claim as the dentist is under contract with them. Incompetent receptionist did not understand all shim had to do was turn insurance card over for dental information. As a result, I was informed Bridgetown Dental did not except HMO cards. Duh, as if a person would attempt to use an HMO card for dental. I sincerely hope the receptionist is trained to turn a card over to access dental information. read more

Scheduled appt where it was confirmed dental insurance was accepted by Bridgetown Dental. Insurance info was given at that time. When I arrive at the appointment, a rude, dismissive, uninformed receptionist looked at my insurance card and stated it was HMO and not accepted. Had he not been so rude, dismissive and uninformed, all he had to do was turn the card over for the dental info. The front of the card is HMO and the back is PPO, which my insurance lists Bridgetown Dental as a provider in the network. The receptionist needs to clean toilets and not be at the front desk. He gives Bridgetown Dental a MAGA reputation and POC need to seek dental care elsewhere, which I do not have a problem. Any office does not want to give proper service to all, is an office I prefer not to frequent. read more

Melanie is a delight, always helpful in booking conveniently overlapping appointments for me and my husband. Even as new patients, we were able to see Dr. Kaady quickly. Staff: The team is friendly, professional, and cares for their patients. They thoroughly explain procedures and frequently gauge comfort levels. There is a sense of mutual respect and camaraderie throughout the office. Bonus: everyone quietly sings/hums along with the radio while working. It's very charming. Procedures: After my first visit, and seeing the scans from their impressive technology, it was clear that my previous dentist adopted a "wait until it becomes a real problem" approach. Before the appointment I received several texts warning I would be charged $100 for missing an appointment. That should have been a red flag. My appointment was for an exam and cleaning. The hygienist said that despite my having made the appointment for a cleaning, because the appointment was made online through Zocdoc, i wasn't told that I may or may not actually receive a cleaning. She denied that the office had any affiliation with Zocdoc or any control over what information was given to people making appointments through them. After the exam I was told that no cleaning could be done due to my having infected gums, and that a deep cleaning was required but that they could do it it more inexpensively than a periodontist. However, the office manager said they could NOT do it there and I would HAVE to have it done by an expensive periodontal specialist--one that she used to work for! Despite claiming that the cleaning couldn't be done due to infected gums, I was prescribed NO antibiotics for said "infection". Instead I was told that it would be "unethical" to do any much needed cleaning to alleviate the infection. Throughout the exam, I could hear another patient receiving a sales pitch for a sleep study and a CPAP machine! When I objected to not receiving the cleaning I made the appointment for, the office manager proceeded to lecture me sternly, raising her voice and saying that if I couldn't trust them, it might not be a "good fit". This necessitates my having to pay for another exam elsewhere, as my insurance was charged for my yearly one here. Do NOT recommend! If only patients could charge THEM for missed services that they make appointments for! read more

I have an almost pathological fear of the dentist, to the point where I need to get gassed to get my teeth cleaned. I have never had a particularly awful trip to the dentist; it's just always been a terrifying experience for me. With that said, it should come as no surprise that I have avoided anything dentist related for a few years. Then my wisdom teeth started coming in, and my overall teeth sensitivity was becoming unbearable. I learned, no surprises here, that I had a few cavities that were caused by teeth grinding. I set up the appointment to get my teeth fixed and let Oxsana know that would be something I would need. This is where the story takes a freaky turn: when I arrived, Oxsana somehow made me feel so comfortable, and I agreed to skip the gas AND, even though I had to get six teeth fixed on one side, I almost fell asleep as they drilled and scraped. Seriously. I could not also feel the Novocain shot - which usually is incredibly painful - and even the discomfort of keeping my mouth wide open for an hour did not bother me nearly as much as I thought it would. The entire time Dr. Kaady and the person assisting him (Dental Assistant? Hygienist? I have no idea what the title is) were attentive and direct, which I appreciated. I asked them to forgo any explanations of what they were doing, and they obliged. The individual assisting Dr. Kaady also is super good at figuring out what people are trying to say - which comes out in grunts when your mouth is propped open - which was incredibly calming. It took about an hour and more than a few shots because my mouth is so sensitive. I was concerned about the slight swelling the next day and the pain and emailed Oxsana (who I LOVE) about it. She responded within minutes with a reminder that I had six teeth filled and some swelling, and of course, residual soreness and pain, is entirely normal. Two days after the appointment, the swelling is gone, and the soreness has subsided. Highly recommend this dentist and greatly appreciate their down to earth staff. read more

I had a horrible experience with BridgeTown Dental. In November, 2022, Dr. Ziad Kaady informed me that I needed a crown. I asked Melanie, the office and billing manager to schedule the appointment after January 1, 2023 when my new Providence Enhanced Dental plan would take effect. She told me that my then current 2022 Basic Plan provided the same 50% coverage as my new Enhanced plan. I relied on her information and scheduled the dental service on 12/1/2022 which she recommended, instead of Jan. 2023. Months later, I received a Notice of Denial of Payment from Providence which stated that my old Basic plan in 2022 did not cover 50% of the service as Melanie had claimed. I also received a new bill from BridgeTown Dental for $393.86. Both Dr. Kaady and Melanie insisted that I was provided with just an "estimation" which stipulates that I was liable for the costs the insurance did not cover. I pointed out that what Melanie informed me was a fact, not an estimate. She clearly told me that my old insurance covered 50% of the crown---that's a fact, not an estimate---and she was wrong. Then she based her estimation on the wrong fact, resulting in an inaccurate estimation, leaving me holding the bag for $393+. They refused to budge; Dr. Kaady accused me of trying to "take food away" from his plate. Melanie kept repeating that what she provided me was just an "estimate." I believe that I should be able to rely on Melanie as a professional manager to provide me with a proposal based on accurate FACTS about my insurance coverage. It is truly unfair that I had to pay an extra $393.86 on top of the $544 I already paid due to a factual mistake that she made. She did not even apologize for causing me so much stress and financial hardship. I have found a new dentist that I can rely on for honest and reliable treatment. During my first visit as a new patient, he spent over 45 minutes going over all my x-rays, unlike Dr. Kaady, who was in a hurry and spent about 10 minutes total. The x-rays taken at BridgeTown were no good, so a complete set of new x-rays were necessary. My new dentist also found 4 cavities that Dr. Kaady made no mention of. As for my crown, Dr. Kaady did as good a job as I would expect from any competent dentist. However, I am worried that after 9 months, I am still experiencing sensitivity to hot and cold foods around the crown. In conclusion, I wish I didn't have to write all this but I am doing so to prevent others from being misled by BridgeTown Dental and from experiencing the distress and hardship that I was subjected to. read more

Well, after reading such a glowing review by Rochelle L. (and given the fact that I've avoided seeing a dentist for 4 years), I screwed up my courage and went... And had a lovely experience. Everyone, from Oksana the receptionist, to Dr. Kaady, was courteous, pleasant, and efficient. It was a beautiful, clean, modern practice; from start to finish, filling out forms to dental x-rays to cleaning to sealing a couple of cracks, I spent an hour and a half. While going to the dentist isn't as sexy as checking out a new cocktail lounge, this was a pretty stellar experience, and I highly recommend it. And I didn't even have any cavities! Yay! read more

Just a quick update for y'all! I continue to visit Dr. Kaady and his staff for restorative care. Following my ultra fabulous introduction to Bridgetown dental I started out with a root canal. Wahooo! Well, not really. However, it wasn't nearly as bad as I had anticipated. Dr. Kaady worked wonders on my poor decrepit tooth. I am now the proud owner of a beautiful porcelain crown. Seriously, I've been known to show ppl my amazing smile and make them guess which one is the tooth-imposter! ;) They're never right btw! I had a great experience with Bridgetown Dental. I had accidentally only scheduled a check up instead of also scheduling my cleaning, but they were able to accomodate me and slide me into their schedule last minute. The check up was a very good experience. The doctor is very kind and the check up encompassed more than just my teeth. He wanted to know about my general health and asked many questions. I felt very well cared for through the entire visit. The cleaning was great as well. Cleaning is never a particularly pleasant experience, but the hygienist made it very painless despite doing a very thorough job. read more

TLDR; Skip Dr. Kaady if anxiety is something you deal with... But if your tooth hurts more than your anxiety and you need a quick check up, then go for it. Don't expect any help calming your anxiety with him though. I made an appointment to see Dr. Kaady because my tooth was aching so bad at night. I have a dentist in my hometown but since this was an emergency, I needed to see someone in town immediately. My family and I have seen the same dentist my entire life and we have built a trusting relationship with each other. I was really hesitant to see a dentist in town but alas my tooth wouldn't let me. I chose to give Bridgetown Dental a call because of their stellar reviews on Yelp and other platforms. I spent days sifting through Yelp reviews and google reviews to find a dentist to cater to my anxiety. I did my research and even looked at their website. Under Dr. Kaady's "Our People" section, the first sentence about himself is as follows: "Dr. Ziad Kaady is dedicated to making sure his patients are comfortable and in control of their own dental care." We both know that was a fluke... I have to say I'm really disappointed in Dr. Kaady. While his staff is extremely patient and understanding Dr. Kaady lacks empathy for people dealing with anxiety and I also got an extremely condescending vibe from him because I was uncomfortable and told him I was an anxious person. I felt really really rushed. I understand he has a lot of patients to see, but my anxiety is something that's a huge deal for me and I'm really disappointed I wasn't able to feel comfortable and well taken care of there. The hygienist that did my x rays and initial check in was really friendly and I'd probably give a go at getting my teeth cleaned with her... I paid almost $100 out of pocket to see him as I do not have insurance. It's not a bad deal for an emergency check up at all, but considering the level of service I got, I'll probably go somewhere else next time. Still not really sure what's going on as he rushed me out. But at least I've gotten a referral to see an endodontist... Giving two stars because 1) his staff was able to get me in quickly for an emergency appointment and 2) his staff was so super friendly Edit: 3/30/2017 This is in reference to my recent experience with Bridgetown Dental. I have gone to Dr. Kaady for many years and have been very happy with his care. I had no plans to change dentists until my recent visit when I learned that he had not been vaccinated against Covid-19. He was taking a "wait and see approach" and felt that he was young and healthy and not at risk. Dental services are high risk because you cannot wear a mask and his position seems inappropriate. He is a medical professional and should understand the threat of infection to his patients, even though he doesn't feel in danger himself. This makes me question other decisions he makes. Highly recommended!! Until yesterday, all I've had done was regular cleanings. Bridgetown Dental has all the newest technology and their people are very friendly. The hygienists work with precision and always offer good advice for proper care and health. I receive reminder text messages for appointments, which is a great way to communicate something simple quickly without being interrupted with a phone call. Yesterday I had my last wisdom tooth removed. Dr. Kaady has a very special talent. He only used a local anesthetic and I felt absolutely nothing for the 15 minutes it took for the "surgery." Afterwards I only had to take ibuprofen once for mild pain, but overall he caused no trauma and I never needed any stronger pain meds. I was fully functional right after I left the office and ended up doing work around my house for the remainder of my day. Past experiences have put me on a couch for 3 days full of pain and Vicodin. Day 2: I'm still amazed I have no pain and require zero pills! If you aren't impressed with your current dentist, do yourself a huge favor and go to Bridgetown Dental. read more

I share some of the same experiences as some of the other reviews. I am a college student with no dental insurance. I am 21 and have never had a cavity in my life. Over Christmas break this year I did not have a chance to see my dentist I have been to my whole life in San Diego. The last time I was at the dentist was December of 2011. SO I did some research and found Bridgetown Dental. I told them very clearly that I am a student and do not have insurance, hoping they could help me out. I went in for a cleaning and came out with a diagnosis of SEVEN cavities and THREE other areas that need to be filled. I left after paying them $265 out of pocket and an estimate of $1,100 for the fillings. I was shocked. With my spring break around the corner, I decided to go home to my regular dentist for a second opinion. He told me that I have ZERO active cavities and took more x-rays for free. With that all said, I feel that Bridgetown Dental tried to take advantage of my situation. I highly recommend NOT going to Bridgetown Dental. Although they are very pleasant people, I feel scammed and disheartened that a local dentist office could try and take advantage of a young college student. read more

I've always taken care of my teeth and have gone to the dentist regularly. Some cavities now and then but nothing major. Imagine my surprise when I showed up to this clinic and was told that my mouth was a wreck. I was told I had multiple cavities and needed a root canal and multiple crowns done immediately. I couldn't afford to pay for all of the work at once (I have insurance but paid about $1200 out of pocket at that visit already) so I elected to do the root canal and cavities on one side and save up for the rest. Dentist told me I only had months to wait or the areas he was recommending be crowned would get worse and I'd need root canals. I couldn't afford to fix anything and through a loophole in the insurance exchange I was able to buy an extra dental policy. I had to have policy for 1 year before they'd cover the crowns so...I paid my premiums and waited. One year later here I am, with a new job that offered a different dental policy that Dr. Kaady doesn't accept. I had my appointment today and the new dentist was shocked to hear that I'd been told I needed so much intensive work as she didn't see a single thing she needed to treat!!!! Makes me wonder if I ever actually needed any work done at all. So, I would suggest getting a second opinion. I think they come up with treatment plans based on how much $$ they can get out of you and NOT on what you actually need done. Also- I had a cleaning here while covered by TWO insurance plans, BOTH of which cover cleanings at 100%. I paid an office visit fee and then got a bill from them in the mail a few months later trying to say my cleaning wasn't covered. Nice people but completely shady. read more

I did not have a good experiece with this office. I was basically told that my teeth were in very bad shape and needed work immediately (I get the impression that he uses this line often). I was quoted almost $900 just to work on my bottom right! They only offer composite fillings, which my insurance only covers 60% of, making my total out of pocket cost $360. I decided to get a second opinion. I went down the street to Dr. Fischer and she filled my two cavities for $80! Dr. Kaady's staff was very nice, but but that doesn't make up for the $300 overcharge. read more

Awesome dentist with a friendly and accommodating staff. I would recommend Dr. Kaady to anyone and everyone. Oksana is great, she greets you with a genuine smile and is always happy to work with my crazy schedule. Dr. Kaady is very patient and considerate. I am fortunate and have had very little need for dental work outside of regular cleanings. During my dental exam Dr. Kaady informed me I had my first cavities caused by sealants that had been placed on my teeth when I was young. I was petrified and in disbelief. The process of having the cavities treated was painless and much easier than I expected. Dr. Kaady clearly explained the procedure and took pictures of the cavities. He put me at ease throughout the treatment. I've been to other area dentists who offered paraffin hand treatments in their fancy, elaborate offices. Along with those luxuries, I received a giant bill and a dentist who spent only minutes with me. I don't want a back rub, I want an honest and compassionate dentist. Luckily with Dr. Kaady, I have found a great dentist, who genuinely cares about his patients and does so at a reasonable cost. read more

Visit #1: Complete and thorough dental exam. The assistant dentist and Dr. Kaady spent considerable time explaining while showing me the X-ray detail of each tooth enlarged as big as my hand. Very instructive, caring and professional. Visit #2: Cleaning and filling of one tooth. Again, the hygienist was very instructive, listening to my every comment with full concern for my past history. The company is very proficient in giving complete attention and care to the patient's comfort and time. The keep in touch and the hygienist administered and numbed my tooth so I was good to go for filling without waiting. Overall Impression: Top of the line. Professional dental care, efficiency at it's best, informative, warm and friendly ambiance, each tooth revealed in "hand sized x-ray format, revealing honesty and integrity in the work that needs to be done. (Dr. Kaady saved me $1000's) by being truthful. The best experience I've ever had at a dentist's office. (I've used 3 since I moved to the area a few years ago.) No pain! When I told my friend where I was going to the dentist, she asked, "Why would you drive that far?" The answer is simply this - I would rather drive to a great dentist with a great staff than a mediocre dentist who is less than five miles from me. Working as a contractor, I limited my health insurance to not include dental. Two years without a cleaning, and I was questioning this big mistake now that I was (a) employed full-time, (b) had great insurance, and (c) heading into the office for my appointment. Worries aside, I wound-up being late to my appointment due to traffic caused by the heavy downpours. The staff was polite; service was efficient; and the dentist and I discussed veneers. Surprisingly, he didn't recommend veneers for my entire mouth or more than was needed - been to dentists who wanted to get as much as out of you as possible. Dr. Kaady was kind as was his hygienist and front office person, and they were efficient but didn't make you feel rushed - they obviously know and enjoy what they're doing. So, in conclusion, yes, sometimes it IS better to go a practicioner who is more than 30 minutes away from your house, especially when it is evident he and his staff care about you and provide the care and service that seems lacking these days. read more

I really love coming here. The wait for an appointment is never very long, and the office staff is phenomenal - professional, organized and genuinely kind and caring. Dr Kaady always takes the time to show me things with my x-rays, educate me about what was going on and discuss options of what to do with which teeth. Recently I decided to get some cavities fixed.. After just two appointments my teeth are PAIN FREE! His expertise with the Novocaine needle is fantastic. The fillings were done quickly but no rush. And he took the time to make sure that the surfaces of the teeth were smooth and shaped to my liking. He even invited me back at no charge if the surfaces needed further smoothing. One did, and it was a fast appointment and he fixed it in about three minutes. The cavity fillings have all been pain free and strong for six months. This whole practice truly is a class act. read more

Dr. Kaady and his team are wonderful. He's restored my smile (thin enamel was destroying my front teeth), and saved many of my teeth. While it's true as others have pointed out, that they don't use cheap materials, going cheap when it comes to the functionality and image associated with your smile isn't worth it. With insurance coverage, it was reasonably priced and the end result is great (I can actually smile with confidence now and I haven't had any issues with them since). I've had x-rays, fillings, crowns and cleanings performed by him and his staff. The process is always as painless as possible. I trust him with my whole family's dental work. read more

I originally chose Bridgetown because it was so convenient (I live within walking distance in St. Johns), but after my first cleaning earlier this year I have to say they continue to impress me beyond belief! Everyone there is SO nice - Dr. Kaady was personable, Oksana was wonderful and gracious, and April was really helpful and informative without making me feel like a complete jerk for not having seen a dentist in over three years (I probably deserved a good scolding, but they focused on making a proactive plan for the future). It was also the first time I left a dentist's office without feeling as if my gums had been gouged out. Their use of technology is impressive and makes the experience of a dental cleaning much more pleasant. I did have one cavity that needed a filling and they got me an appointment quickly and easily, and gave me an estimate ahead of time. I have my next 6-month cleaning tomorrow and I'm actually looking forward to it. Who knew? read more

Bridgetown dental is first class all the way. The technology is very impressive. You get to see your teeth on a computer screen from the chair and then a detailed explanation of your recommended treatment. And that's what makes me such a big fan- I understand what's going on, Dr Kaady recommends a treatment, gives me options, and then I get to make the decision. My final bill is never more than what the estimate is, and it's typically lower. Dr. Kaady is smart, super cool, and does an all around outstanding job. Oksana is wonderful, and very enjoyable to talk with while waiting for an appointment. The hygienists are always sweet, and good at their jobs (gentle and efficient). I recently moved from California. I always had the same dentist growing up, and he was our family dentist. Great guy, knew everything about us and our whole family. Finding a new dentist here in my new home was a daunting challenge for me, so I kept avoiding it. Finally my wisdom teeth started wiggling and causing pressure in my mouth, If that wasn't a sign to go to the dentist, I don't know what is! I randomly choose Bridgetown Dental because it's so close to where I work. I called to make an appointment, and they were able to get me in the next day from a cancellation. Much to dismay, I had a flat tire after work and had to take my car. I felt awful for calling to leave a message and canceling my first thing in the morning appointment. Their office called me later the next day and didn't make me feel horrible for canceling at the last second, which is great, because I felt really bad about it. The receptionist was very sweet and made an appointment for me the next week. I really liked the homey feeling of the office. Not stuffy and sterile and cheesy like most dr's offices. They saw me right away with no wait. I had x-rays, a teeth cleaning, and a mold made for my teeth whitening. All of the staff was so nice and friendly and gentle. Dr. Kaady was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain things and answer all of my questions. I had two cavities. I went in a week later to get my cavities filled and more x-rays of my wisdom teeth. The cavities were weird, but not as painful as I imagined. I did have some sensitivity while he was drilling, but he was very gentle and apologetic about the tenderness. It was fine, I survived. The dentist in general has always been slightly scary to me, so having a nice supportive, and informative staff is so helpful to me. Overall, I had a great experience. They already scheduled my next cleaning in 6 months. read more

Dental technician seemed inexperienced, she was friendly but extremely rough with the polish tool. I have never had issues with dentists in my life but this was not a good experience. Dr Kaady showed up for probably 30 seconds or so and basically said my mouth was a wreck which was surprising considering other dentists have not raised such issues. Decided to go elsewhere in the future, Dr Kaady should work on his interpersonal skills. read more

I had not gone to the dentist in a long time. Like many people in their 20's with student loans and a job where you're clearly on the bottom of the totem pole, I chose to spend my healthcare insurance money on different essentials (pesky things like rent and food). So when I finally got the opportunity to afford insurance, I found myself in the market to actually go to the dentist. Looking at the reviews for my work area, I saw that Bridgetown dental had pretty good reviews. Taking the leap (and really hoping I didn't have a bunch of cavities), I made my first appointment. Having survived my initial appointment and one follow-up let me say that I LOVE MY DENTIST!!! Both times I visited Bridgetown, I arrived around 2-3pm. Walking in you're greeted by the front desk who greets you and walks you through the entire process, which is great for a dental newbie like me. Then you sit in the little waiting area until the dentist is ready for you. Everything is clean yet comforting, not the cold hospital feeling I was expecting. My only complaint is that I should've had some of the coffee that was available. I may not have had time to drink it though, since they were ready for me almost exactly at the appointment time. The dental assistant clearly and concisely told me what they were going to do today and which services were optional. I didn't feel any pressure for anything unnecessary, which was pleasant. Both the assistant and the dentist proceeded quickly but pleasantly, always taking the extra second to make sure I was okay and comfortable. Afterwards the dentist recommended that I come in for a quick check-up to make sure my gums were improving but no pressure on the decision. Oh, and as a bonus, when I was leaving they asked if I wanted to feed the fish. So I got to do that as a bonus before going back to work. When I was stuck in traffic and had to reschedule, they made this process easy and stress free. They were exceptionally accommodating. I never have to wait to be seen and the entire staff is knowledgable and friendly. They make the experience stress free; which for me is no easy task! I just picked up my bleaching trays and whiting. I am always so pleased with the experience, the friendliness of the staff and the expertise of Dr. Kaady. I highly recommend them! read more
