A well kept venue. We walked into a grand hall with a grand piano. Our banquet is on the second floor. The stairs led us to another grand piano upstairs. I guess the owner loves the piano a lot? The service was very warm and friendly. The dinner was typical: salad, dinner rolls, penne vodka, chicken francaise, beef tenderloin tips. Everything was tasty, but a little bit on the salty side. My wife and I got married at Bridgewater Manor 2 weeks ago. From the moment our tour finished with Stephanie we knew it was where we wanted to get married. She was extremely professional and super friendly. The venue handled a lot of the large, stressful items and made the most difficult decision be what to choose for dinner because there were so many goos options! The day of everything was amazing. Our Maître d' for the night, Adel, was extremely attentive and sweet, anticipating everything from keeping our drinks refreshed to having a napkin at the ready after feeding each other the cake. The pictures turned out great with the gazebo, fountain and well maintained gardens providing ample settings. Our wedding could not have been possible without Bridgewater Manor. Pat, Maryanne, Erin, Carissa, and Adel made everything run smoothly and seamless. Words cannot describe how Bridgewater Manor went over and beyond to make our day feel special. My husband and I were on a tight budget and had been disappointed with many other venues we had seen. Bridgewater Manor was willing to accommodate our budget. They personalized all our details and recommended the best vendors. We had out of state guests attend our wedding and Bridgewater Manor provided us with 2 local hotels that would be able to assist us. We were able to reserve a block of rooms at Bridgewater Marriott at a great price, thanks to Bridgewater Manor. From picking a date, finalizing our menu, to the specific details of our day, the team at Bridgewater Manor was there every step of the way during the planning process. Every question was answered and every detail checked to make sure we were happy. Erin, Carissa, and Maryanne were always responsive whether it was by email or phone. As half of our bridal party was coming from out of state, Maryanne was able to accommodate our needs during the day of the rehearsal. Aside from the budget, another main reason why we picked Bridgewater Manor was the outside grounds for our photos. It was cloudy with a chance of rain on the day of our wedding. We were able to do the first look outside and take some beautiful pictures before the ceremony started. Because we weren't sure if it would rain or not, Maryanne was able to setup both the inside and outside of the venue to see where we would hold the ceremony. It wasn't until 20 minutes before the ceremony started that we decided to go with an outdoor ceremony. I'm glad I went with my gut instinct. There was not one drop of rain during the entire ceremony! My husband and I barely had time to try the food during cocktail hour, but the few bites that we did take were absolutely delicious! All our guests from California were shocked at the abundance of food during cocktail hour and the reception. We received compliments all through the night on how delicious the food was. The cake from Palermo's was phenomenal. I had a lot of people asking where I got the cake from because it was absolutely delicious. Adel, our maitre'd, was a pleasure to work with on the day of and paid so much attention to all the details. He pulled us aside before the reception started to show us our room. We were overjoyed as to how they transformed the Imperial room. Our centerpieces and décor, along with lighting made the room feel grand. We were astonished at how beautiful it was. Adel was with us the whole time and made sure all our needs were catered. He let us know exactly where and when we had to be at all times. I attended my cousin's wedding here last weekend and was pretty impressed. I was a wedding planner for a while, so I have a pretty keen eye for what makes an event work and these people had it down pat. They had 4 events going on the evening we visited, 3 big weddings and a non-profit fundraiser, and you honestly wouldn't know it. Leaving our banquet hall to go to the restroom, we didn't run into a line or many other people at all. (Although it was weird that the restroom was so far away from our banquet hall.) The cocktail hour was stunning, with an incredible array of food, from a quesadilla bar to hand-carved roast, tortellini, mushrooms, calamari, a huge veggie/fruit/cheese spread and passed hors d' oeuvres. Very impressive. The bar was a rolling bar, which is pretty standard for these types of places. The bartender that was closest to us was a bit surly, but I sort of forgave him when I thought of the number of these events he does on a yearly basis. Ugh. The decor was fine - fairly standard "faux-fancy" decor with pretty standard dusty silk flower arrangements and wobbly collapsible cab tables, but the low lights covered most of these flaws. The walls and ceilings were well designed, with nice architectural details and crown molding, not unlike an upscale hotel. We moved into the banquet hall, which was 20 or so tables (8-10 tops) surrounding a giant dance floor. The centerpieces were giant martini glasses with glass pebbles and an LED light in them, with the arrangement on top. They were fine, but used alstromeria and wax flowers, which are pretty cheap, along with 5 or so too few lipstick pink roses, which was the color of the bouquets. I'm not sure if the Manor did the flowers or not. The meal was a giant 6-course meal that lasted 3 or so hours, with dancing and such throughout, which I thought was awesome. I have been to a lot of weddings, and was impressed that this was the first one where I felt like I truly experienced the whole thing and wasn't looking to leave before things were really done. The food was delicious, not remarkable, but very good, and the cake (not sure if it was done by the Manor) was one of the most delicious wedding cakes I've had. For an all-inclusive location, I'd say this place is pretty great. A few nitpicky things: if you're going to have your servers wear tuxes (which I liked) make sure they FIT. Our server was dragging his cuffs on the plates it was so big. Also, if you're going to offer valet, don't make the people that don't use it (and can handle walking 50 feet) feel bad. read more

We had our wedding in the Somerset room at Bridgewater Manor and it could not have gone better. The reception and cocktail rooms were beautifully lit and so classy. So many of our guests commented on how stunning it was. The ceremony grounds are also so gorgeous, especially for pictures. There was so much food and it was delicious (my fave was the short rib), with so many passed hors d'oeuvres and specialty stations just during the cocktail hour. My guests were stuffed but still indulged in the ice cream sundae bar after dinner. Alyssa was my event manager and she was great, really responsive and accommodating, especially in these challenging pandemic times. Danielle stepped in to help toward the end because Alyssa could not be there the day of my wedding, but I was in great hands, as Danielle was lovely and made me feel so at ease. Jesus, our maitre'd, was such a professional and really guided me through everything. He was there to hold my train as I walked down the aisle, make sure I ate, gently instructed me where to stand, and even helped pack things up at the end of the night. I am so happy I picked the Bridgewater Manor. Erin, from the beginning, was so patient and willing to answer any and all questions. Anything she could accommodate, she did. The cocktail hour food was AMAZING, so many people were complimenting it (and several people were foodies like myself). Dinner was amazing, the service was good, and the dessert hour was just awesome. Thank you for a wonderful wedding! As to the cake, this does not come from the Manor but from Palermo's. The cake was amazing and I will be reviewing them as appropriate. I had no issues with my suite, no issues with getting into my cocktail hour room (it was to open at 6:30 and it did), and no issues at all in general. The one thing I will agree with other reviewer's is the lack of private bathroom for both the bridal suite, and for the Imperial Ballroom. We shared the bathroom with another wedding, and I had made a cute bathroom basket. My guests tell me the other wedding did not (mine was the only one in there), and there was nothing to stop their guests from using my items. At the end there were many things just missing that I doubt were completely used. Perhaps having an attendant may stop that from happening. read more

We came to Bridgewater for my wife's friend's wedding in which she was a bridesmaid. What may appear as just a white building in the middle of nowhere is a wedding mega-palace. Once you walk-in you'll notice the grand staircase that just cries photo-op. You can have your ceremony outside under a grand gazebo overlooking a pond (complete with live swans) or indoors where the space is smaller. The set-up for cocktail hour was extravagant, complete with an ice sculpture, roasted pig, various finger foods (hot and cold), and of course, an open bar. Wherever they order their food from, I have to give an infinite number of stars. If they have their own kitchen and they prepare the menu themselves, even more stars. The appetizers were a meal in itself. I couldn't even eat the main course they served because I was so full. There is plenty of private parking for the attendees. The main reception room is spacious and elegantly decorated where it can probably fill upwards of 300 guests. The wedding was very lively and people were enjoying themselves immensely late into the evening. This is a testament to great wedding planning and the accommodations afforded by the facility. read more

I recently attended my little sister's sweet 16 birthday party here...and I have to say that this place is a great venue if you need to host a nice birthday party. We were in the upstairs area, and my dad booked a DJ, catering, the works. I was really surprised by the quality of the food above all. The service/staff was also excellent. They made sure to keep everyone happy and did as much as they could in terms of looking after the kids while they partied. I'm more surprised that none of my friends came here for their sweet 16 birthday parties back in the day...but maybe this place wasn't open yet. Recently attended a wedding here - a lot of fun! To make it simple, here's a list of pros and cons... Pros: - Great appetizers, which were quickly replenished by the attentive staff - Bartenders were a lot of fun, and recommended good drinks (but I was sad they didn't have Bailey's, which I guess isn't their fault). - Beautiful venue - classy and charming all in one! - DJ/Host was a whole lot of fun! Cons: - Bathrooms aren't as nice as expected given the decor of the rest of the building - As mentioned above, I was disappointed they didn't have Bailey's at the bar - I had the steak for entree, it was only ok, I expected more given the amazing appetizers Overall, still had a great experience there. My daughter had her wedding there October 14th and everyone thought the place was beautiful. Really pretty venue. Nice and clean. The outside landscaping made for a perfect ceremony and fantastic pictures. The cocktail hour had plenty of seating and the appetizers were great. The dinner was delicious and cooked to order which was really nice for the beef dish. There were no long lines to get a drink because the bartenders were fast and very efficient. Many thanks to the staff. It was a wonderful wedding and I heard no complaints, only compliments which really made me happy. Actually, if I have one complaint, it's that it was over too fast. This was one of the many places we visited while trying to find our wedding venue. It was a "best of" on the Knot, so I figured the place must be good. The website is nice too. Only thing is, there are no pictures of what the hall looks like inside. I should have known.. The outside looks nice, but then you walk in. The inside had a really weird smell to it and everything from the rug, the walls, the stairway reminded me being in a hotel auditorium. We met with the BM who was very nice, the price we could get, around 80 bucks a plate, was well great, but then he took us on a tour. The outside area is nice if you wanted to have an outdoor wedding but we weren't. The larger room, where we couldn't have it because of our guest list number, was just plain ole blah. Outdated and kinda cheesy looking. So then he took us upstairs to the room that holds smaller parties. I literally walked into a 2x4 with NO WINDOWS, a tiny, tiny dance floor and then this huge, front and center door that leads into the kitchen. The best was that the bar was not even located in the room. You would have to leave the room and walk into the hallway to what looked like a bar on wheels. Huh? Anyway, this room reminded me of a souped up Knights of Columbus and since we were paying way more then what I would have been charged there, we passed on booking our wedding here. I can't comment on the food, as I've never been to an event here... This place is good if you aren't picky with the atmosphere and have a tight budget. read more

I was interested in having my wedding here, but I never even made it to the venue thanks to the guy I spoke to on the phone. I called to get some basic information (guest min req, price per head, dates available) and I could barely get out sentence without being interrupted (he was clearly in a rush to get off the phone). He would cut me off and say something like " Ok what else do you need?" after each question. I suppose I could understand if I had this guy's ear for 45 min, but I had only gotten through 2 questions before he rudely asked for my email address to send me more information. I get it, he was busy, but transfer me to someone else who can help or politely ask if you can return my call. It's not that hard. And to top it all off, I never even received the email so I guess these people don't care about booking a wedding. read more

I am the Director of Events at ROI-NJ and we recently hosted our inaugural Champions of the C-Suite program at Bridgewater Manor. As it always is with a first-time event, we had quite a few changes leading up to the event and truly appreciated how accommodating the staff we worked with was. Alyssa, our main contact, was fantastic and always checking in to make sure that we had everything we needed. The little reminders, recommendations and reassurances that everything would be set up perfectly were very appreciated, especially during the last few weeks before the event when we experienced some unexpected internal organizational changes that affected our operations. I would also like to thank the staff, especially Mercedes, who were all courteous, professional and really added to our relaxed atmosphere for the night. Mercedes introduced herself right away upon my arrival and was there every step of the way as we set up for our event. She coordinated the staff to help us pull everything together at the venue a couple of hours before registration began, setting up centerpieces and accommodating last-minute table changes. I would highly recommend Mercedes as your Maitre'D for corporate events. We had 200+ people in attendance, mostly high-profile c-level executives in NJ, and all the feedback we received regarding the venue and event has been positive. The food was delicious, the drinks were good and everyone had a great time. We also remained relatively on schedule, despite traffic delays, thanks to Mercedes and the Bridgewater Manor Staff. We attended a family wedding reception here that was very well executed. It's a big facility, well organized and designed for receptions. We had a fabulous dinner in a perfect room. I got married May 25, 2019 and it took me a quite a while to write this review because I didn't want to write one based on my current emotions. Now that I had time to reflect on my wedding day, I come to realization that my wedding was a bit of a disaster. Mercedes my "maitre d" was very unprofessional. She never introduced herself to me, (the bride) and was very rude to my mother in law in front of our family. She would say absurd things to my mother in law referring me as "the girl".. saying "the girl doesn't want to cut the cake now, so it's your problem on what happens with those pictures" KNOWING that the food didn't even come out yet. Instead of BEING A MAITRE D she was just more concerned on the photographer. My husband and I NEVER got our food, in fact my husband had to get up and get it himself for the both of us. I had very high expectations for this place because the planning was very good and Carissa was very nice and professional. But also I mean, you pay thousands and thousands of dollars and spend almost TWO years planning this day just for a lady to ruin everything, it's just not right. We did go in and explain what happened and got a $200 gift card for a restaurant but it's just not right that after almost two years of planning and $15,000 put into it, that it's just a disaster the way it was. read more

Was in a bridal party here. Pros: Food was good at cocktail hour and wedding. Friendly and attentive staff. Cons: The decor is showing it's age. So is the parking lot. If you're going to where heels here, be careful when walking to your car. Bridal suite didn't have a private bathroom. So we had to walk all the way down the hall when even when guests were there. The Bride held her bladder after a certain point. Also there wasn't any circulating air in the suite, so we had to keep door open most of the time. With 14 people in a small space, the place needs a fan or windows that open. Had to wait for 3 hours from photos to ceremony due to a double wedding booking. Had no idea why... both weddings barely saw each other and had different photographers. There was no food/drinks for us until closer to ceremony time. Wedding cake was dry and way too sweet. I hosted a buffet luncheon here in February and had a great experience. I wanted a venue centrally located for my guests that would be traveling from across NJ and eastern PA. I don't live locally, so all arrangements were made over the phone and email. Any questions I had were answered thoroughly and promptly. The day of the event, everything went smoothly. There was plenty of food and it was all great tasting. Many of my guests complimented the venue and food choice. My husband and I just had our reception at the Bridgewater Manor on June 27th. Everything was excellent. From the first time we went in for a tour of the facility to the night of our wedding, the service was amazing. It was very reasonably priced, especially for the amount of food and alcohol that was included. The wait staff was great - very attentive and pleasant. The Maitre D was awesome - he met us out at the limo to get us set up for photos and then helped us throughout the entire night to make sure that the order of events went smoothly and that we knew what to do. He worked with our MC to ensure that everything was correct, and because of him, we didn't have to worry at all about the different components of the reception - we could just have a great time. The food was excellent - so many of our guests told us that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. There was a ton of food at the cocktail hour and all of the food for the sit-down dinner was great. My husband is a sous chef at a country club and he even said that the food was excellent. It was easy to work with the staff throughout the planning process. The wedding coordinator was available to answer any questions and provide recommendations to us. The last week or so before the wedding I had to call her a bunch of times with last minute questions and she was always pleasant and helpful. Lastly, the room was beautiful and our vendors had a very easy time setting up and breaking down. The outdoor area for photos was stunning - beautiful fountain, flowers, gazebo, benches, etc. Great for all wedding photos. Overall, we are thrilled that we used the Bridgewater Manor and would recommend it to any couple looking for a venue. Excellent facility, service, food, alcohol, etc. My husband and I say that it was the best decision we made for our wedding. A few of our guests were trying to guess how much we paid for the reception, and there estimates were three times as much as we actually paid! Left a good impression on our guests. read more

Beware! Food allergens Went to a function and had been told they could provide gluten free options (I have celiac disease). At lunch there was nothing out so I asked a server. Was told the chef was making me something. Halfway through eating my wrap, the server asked me to bring my plate to the kitchen and the chef told me he'd given me a regular wrap! Chef apologized but owner did not take it seriously. Said it was just a "mistake". It's my health! And I think about this attitude for others who may have an anaphylactic reaction. He said they do a great job but somehow a GF package of wraps was not opened. Was also told the chef wanted to save money because no one ate the GF muffins at breakfast. Please don't listen to these people if you have celiac or other food allergy!!! They saved $2 in a wrap but I've been very sick since Friday afternoon! Don't trust! read more

Our daughter, Karen just married the man of her dreams, Matt @ the Bridgewater Manor on 10/4/13. The venue is amazing, the food is delicious and the staff is beyond excellent. Beginning with Michael C as we booked the facility, Erin Grant the event co-oridinator to Adel our Maitre' D. They, as well as the whole staff went above and beyond our expectations. They're professionalism and concern for our daughter & new husband's day was wonderful. This is the 3rd time we have been there and if we had to choose again, this would be the facility, hands down. As the mother and father of the bride the day flew by, we can't wait to see the videographer's work, to jar our memory. My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Bridgewater Manor on 8/18/18. Pros: Maryanne, Erin, Pat and the office staff are excellent and extremely organized and will answer every question and attend to all needs. they were helpful when we were unsure if it would rain for the ceremony (and it did!) but we were able to hold the ceremony outside. The food is EXCELLENT and our guests loved their meal and the food. Cons: The entire bar situation. my guests informed me that during cocktail hour the line was extremely long and the solo bartender was overwhelmed and "couldnt mix drinks" (although I asked for 2 bartenders). some guests said they didn't get to try a lot of the cocktail hour because they were waiting on line so long. finally another bartender came but my guests said he was very slow and also was overwhelmed. the maitre d had to step in at times to help the bar because the line was so long. it got worse. they ran out of several vodkas and beers that night and guests had to order other drinks. when I asked the bartender why they were out of vodka, he gave me an attitude and said "thats managements issue." i spoke to my maitre d who assured me the vodka was on it's way but I'm not entirely sure if it ever came. my guests weren't on the dance floor during the reception because they were waiting on the bar line. my guests had to result to ordering two drinks or beers at once so they wouldn't have to spend so much time at the bar. towards the end of the reception, I went to the bar myself to get the brides signature drink and the bartender made it completely wrong. like, really, hello I'm the bride!? I just walked away and didnt say anything because I didn't want to have an attitude at my wedding reception. i am bummed because it did put a damper on the evening and I didn't find out how bad the situation was until after the wedding. if I knew I would have addressed it then and there. I had emailed the office team prior to the wedding to let them know I needed at least two bartenders because I knew the type of crew (guests) I had but I guess they didn't believe me or gave me the worst bartenders on their staff. read more

I just wanted to tell you that the shower went beautifully. The room looked beautiful and our hostess for the event (I can't remember her name!) was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! We never once had to ask for anything and she was always right on top of everything. Everyone raved about the food and the way the fruit was displayed as well. While the price was right and the Hunterdon room was perfect for our occasion, the staff was very unresponsive from day one. I had a hard time booking the place because no one would get back to me and that should have been the first sign. It wasn't until we dealt with Pat directly that it started to come together and he was very accommodating to the things we requested prior to the event. The night of Pro's - food was surprisingly good. Con's - drinks weren't great, one of our chafing dishes and the cake were incorrect and they forgot to put my favors out all together. Although they compensated me for the cost they were less then apologetic, which was very frustrating. When I proceeded to pick up my edible favors I learned the staff had eaten half of them. Once again the staff was not at all apologetic. Yes they reimbursed me, but the staff was rude the entire time and they weren't even sorry. Sometimes money doesn't fix everything! - Whatever happened to taking responsibility for your staff? Don't expect this from the Manor. read more

I recently attended a wedding at the Bridgewater Manor. The cocktail hour was awesome. Endless delicious food and drinks. I believe the room that we were in was the Somerset. Great room connected to a large patio. Dinner was great start to finish. Had the carved Chateaubriand. perfectly roasted. Overall great experience. read more

Bridgewater Manor recently catered our wedding (off site), and they were a pleasure to work with. Our guests repeatedly remarked on how fantastic the food was and how professional everyone was. Our concierge (Adel) was attentive and phenomenally friendly, and the set up by the staff was done in less than an hour. We attribute much of the success of the event on the fantastic work performed by Pat and Erin and their amazing team, and we would highly recommend using their services, even if you don't plan on having your event at the Manor itself!
