My future wife and I reached out to this company to cater our wedding in December. We both love coffee and thought this would be a unique touch to our reception. They were also highly recommended by our venue. I reached out to the owner, Marianne, to see how we could go about booking the company and she was very responsive at first. Then email communication died down, but I figured she was just busy. I called her a few days later (her phone number was provided in her email signature) and when she answered, she seemed excited for my call. I reminded her of our date, let her know how excited my fiancé and I were to have her present, and asked for a contract to be sent over. I never received the contract. Texted and emailed again - nothing. I'm not sure if this is a case of someone not wanting to do business with a same sex couple or just poor customer service, but either way, a Nespresso will do the same job just fine. read more

We just hired Cupa Cabana AGAIN to provide a gourmet coffee bar for our daughter's graduation party!! Little did we know that they could also provide pastries AND a chocolate fountain for our dessert and coffee party. They provided everything we needed from personalized cups to all paper goods, outrageous chocolate (we were eating the leftovers out of bowls) delicious dippers and everything in between. The service was EXCELLENT. Marianne (the owner) is such a pleasure to be around and so professional and helpful. Luis made a mean cappuccino and was also extremely helpful. Marianne is just AMAZING - I know she is in NJ - but she came to NYC to cater an event for my whole office - everything was beautiful, delicious, and timely. We had 6 different desserts on display that she helped me chose what i wanted and then a coffee/ hot coco bar. We worked with Cupa Cabana for a corporate event and everything went great. Every barista was not only knowledgeable but also very friendly with customers and guests. Marianne, our main point of contact, was very attentive to all of our needs and a great person to work with overall. Even though they are based in New Jersey, Marianne personally came to NYC during both days of our event to check how everything was going. We hired Cupa Cabana to serve specialty coffees during our daughter's wedding of 236 guests at the Ashford Estate. Our decision to hire an additional coffee service came rather late in our wedding plans. So, when I finally made the call to describe what I needed, owner, Marianne, was gracious, efficient, and took charge. I knew in one call that she was very good at what she does and our wedding was in good hands. We decided to have the coffee bar all throughout the reception so guests moving from cocktail hour into the reception hall could get a quick cup of espresso. The bridal party was especially grateful for a specialty coffee early on in the evening after being up so early that day. Owner, Marianne, knows her business and has extremely hospitable staff to execute well. Her baristas are talented and very personable. The coffee is delicious. Unfortunately, they don't honor their pricing through their partner venues. The contract was signed before pricing went up. When we asked them to honor their price, they balked. When we negotiated a middle ground, they kept saying they would call us back in a couple of hours with a new contract and never did. This went on for weeks. Highly overpriced as well - the vendor we went with was much more reasonable and responsive. We worked the original vendor down to $1K - $10 per cup of coffee with a nicer booth - but we found a very good vendor with organic coffee and chai tea for $500 that was responsive and worked out well in the end. If they didn't want the business, they should have just said that up front instead of dragging it out for weeks being unresponsive. You don't have time for this in wedding planning. read more

These guys are AWESOME. We hired Cupa Cabana to make espresso's and coffees (especially iced coffee's as it was July in NYC, so middle of summer) for the recovery event after our wedding. In fact, our wedding caterer - Neuman's Kitchen - highly recommended them, so we knew we were in good hands. Everyone was very worse for wear after dancing until 3am the day before, so having Cupa's incredible coffee was greatly appreciated, and helped people survive the day! Also, many of our guests were from Melbourne, Australia - so they prefer Italian style espresso coffee (lattes, cappuccino's etc.) and they were excellent. The staff were extremely professional, gracious and attentive - and were also a recently married couple - so it was meant to be! They set up in the common area of our apartment building, they didn't need much space at all, and were super clean and efficient with both their setup and cleanup. We highly recommend them. read more
