We moved out to Henderson, NV 6 years ago from Savannah, GA. I have been to several salons and I hadn't found a stylist that I was comfortable with or trusted their skill level or knowledge. Today I visited DeTour after calling and speaking with Stephanie who was kind enough to fit me in the same day. I had been coloring my own hair after giving up ever finding stylist but I had taken my hair too blond and the color lacked any depth it was just one color. Stephanie discussed with me what I was wanting and she did it without judging me and my home color job! After discussing the colors she thought would go best with my eyes and coloring. I put myself in her hand and went with her suggestions and am so thankful that I did. My hair looks amazing and the color is perfection! Stephanie even gave me a couple tips for touching up my hair color when the time comes. I will be going back to her she is wonderful and I finally feel like I found a stylist I can trust. One thing difficult to find is a good hairdresser. Believe me I know I have had several since I moved here. No more, if you want a nice salon with a fabulous Stylist go in and see Stephanie. Hidden gem! I found DeTour on Yelp after a long search for a hair salon close to home. When I called, I was able to get a haircut appointment that was convenient and same day. Stephanie (the owner) did a shampoo, cut and style for me. She made a point to ask me what I wanted out of my visit and made helpful suggestions regarding choice of style and hair care tips relevant to my hair complaints. Stephanie cared about what she was doing and it seemed like she was truly interested in taking care of her client's needs. The salon was clean and has a cute shabby chic look to it. Stephanie is amazing with my hair! I came in with it broken and damaged, ready to chop it all off, and she convinced me it was able to be saved. It was back to its normal healthy state in no time! Susan Stoker, owner of Detour Salon, has been my hairdresser and colorist for a couple of decades. I was so excited while she was planning this salon and it turned out even better than the vision in my head. Detour has been open for a few years now and it's as comfortable and pretty as the day it opened. The operators (hair and nails) are the best you'll find anywhere. It's a little out of the way (College Drive at the Boulder Highway) for some of us, but well worth the ride. I have been to Detour Salon twice now and Stephanie has been my stylist both times. She did an AMAZING job both times. My first time was for a trim a bangs. Stephanie made me feel comfortable and was so personable. I have really long hair which is almost down to my waist, and in the past when going in for a trim I usually walk out with getting a whole much more chopped off than I expected. She cut off just the right amount, added some layers, and gave me blunt bangs. The second time I came is which was 2 weeks ago I did more of a drastic change. I had Stephanie trim and color my hair. I have dark hair and never went any shade light. I wanted a ombré look with the bottom almost close to blonde. I was a afraid my hair would come out orange or streaky but it did not! Stephanie did such an amazing job with blending it and making it flow very well. She is definitely my go to stylist from here on out! read more

Go see Bridgett!! Absolutely amazing! Totally saved me from a major hair disaster! On friday I had my hair done by my "usual" person. I'm not sure where the communication went wrong but somehow I ended up with very purple hair. I was pretty blonde when I walked in. Needless to say after I came out of shock, I was devastated. Not to be too dramatic but I was freaking out. I called Bridgett in hysterics and she got me in today for a fix. Not to brag but my hair looks better than ever. I can't say enough about Detour Salon. From the adorable welcoming way it is decorated, to the fun loving cast of characters who work there. For me, it's like going to Dolly Parton's salon in Steel Magnolias. I have been going to Susie Stoker for about 20 years now and always leave happy with my hair. In fact, I live way up by Centennial Hills, about a 55 minute drive from the salon. Yet there I am, every 6 weeks making the trek to my favorite salon and hairdresser. I used to love the atmosphere of this salon but it's just not the same. So sad... It's not the same as it was the past several years.

I moved out here a little over a year ago from Orange County. LOVED my stylist I had, a bit expensive, but always did a great job. When I moved here I actually found Stephanie's salon off of here. When I got to Stephanie my hair was so unhealthy from my previous stylist always using bleach on my hair. I have been going to Stephanie for the past year, and with the hair dye she uses and products she has offered to me, my hair is immensely healthier. Even she couldn't believe how much healthier it was in just a years time. Stephanie always does such a beautiful job with my hair and ensures I have left her salon completely satisfied with my hair. On top of being a very talented stylist, every time I get to the salon I feel so comfortable. Stephanie is very personable, always offers coffee or water, and makes sure that I have a very pleasant experience. It's like having a close girlfriend do your hair! Detour Salon is modern, relaxing, and clean. Stephanie is very genuine and has always wanted to give me the best result as her client. Couldn't ask for more from a stylist! read more
