I visited this location today an hour before closing time. The store was very calm and I was only shopping for something quick as I had a gift card that I had recently received for a birthday gift. I ended up going with the Morrocanoil Frizz Control Conditioner and the Soulfood Nourishing Mask. I was glad to be shopping on my own as I could hear the opinions of other shoppers nearby which ultimately led to my purchase of the Soulfood Nourishing Mask. None of the employees seemed irritated or rushed with anybody in the store, despite the approaching closing time (I know this can often be a grievance for employees). The cashier with the butterflies near her eyes was very nice and welcoming. She took a relaxed pace but was smooth and intentional with our interaction. I definitely appreciated this, and she made sure to mention my birthday gift so I would not forget. I was able to select the Keratase Hair Care which I am excited to try. Why is there no one over at the register? and I say no ( I had already been standing at the register for 5 minutes waiting for them to come over) so she walks me back over to the register and tells me that I need to wait for another sales girl that's checking someone out at the back of the store no where near the register. The worst customer service I have ever received. I purchased the Sephora eye brow pencil. It only lasted a month. I only used a small amount each day. When I went in to explain something was wrong, I was told the product doesn't last that long! Maybe it should be written somewhere. All products I purchase from Target, CVS etc last at least 6 months to a year. I'm a manager at one of the stores in the District and couldn't believe I wasn't offered any solution other than that. I would have explained to the customer the reasoning and then offered a replacement. This would have given me the knowledge of the product, and I would have known not to purchase the brand again, but in the meantime had a replacement. I will not be returning. read more

This is an honest review because really there is no other way to do a review. I never liked Sephora because they're expensive and I thought it was gonna be another Ulta-- strong, fragrances, and fake people. Like going to high school all over again and talking to people that you really don't have anything in common with just to try and get your end goal. So, when my daughter would go in, I would always wait outside and a few times I went in I had the prior experience and it was just so daunting to even want to be in the store. But recently, my stress has increased 1000% no joke. And my hair was suffering because of it primarily my scalp and I went in to my hairdresser and tried to figure out what was going on and she used Moroccan oil products on me and while I loved the smell because it's absolutely incredible. I loved the feel of my hair, but I don't like the fact that Moroccan oil uses synthetic argon oil because regular Argan oil is extremely expensive but I was on the right path to making a better choice for myself, I just didn't realize it until I spent endless hours which it seemed to be in Sephora talking with the two ladies I'm about to mention. I went into Sephora and spent three days back to back talking to one specific girl by the name of Gabby. My life changed for the better. Every time I talk to her, it felt like an hour it was probably closer to 30 minutes. I retained so much knowledge of what she said that by talking to her it made the trip to Sephora while still stressful for me because of everything I was dealing with a bit better to get educated on how to take care of me, yet again. We never take care of ourselves we always take care of everybody else- that was about to change-- fingers crossed. The three days for the 30 minutes each day I talked to Gabby I felt like she actually listened to me, was insightful, and tried to put herself in my shoes it was game changing. She also mentioned on the third day that another great resource to talk to is her store manager, Emily. I actually thought that Gabby was trying to push me off because she didn't wanna take additional time to talk to me, but sometimes in terms of your maturity level, it's good to talk to other people to get a second opinion. The first day I came into Sephora, I had already taken all the knowledge I had from Gabby and I felt decent with my new regime. However, I talked to Emily per Gabbys suggestion, and that too was game changing. Because of Gabby's advice and it was probably a 15 minute conversation maybe 20, I have a new hair regime and I can't thank her enough. read more

We went to Sephora on Sunday to pick up a Christmas present for my daughter. I do use a cane to get around so I asked an employees if she could show me a product. So she pointed at it and said it's over there . After I went and got my product, she was doing credit card purchases on the side not at the register. Ask her if she could ring me up and she told me to go to the register cause there wasn't a long line.. Then she walked off and stood around until she decided to help a gentleman. I was @ the restaurant Bella next door awhile back & saw the sign on this building saying Sephora was coming & I was super excited cause it's one of my favorite stores! I happened to head to the District today to hit some of the sites & parked close to Sephora wHen I noticed it was now opened. I was greeted right away when I walked in the door. Funny thing is I walked in alone & the girl said "welcome guys!" lol I went in to buy some mascara but was open to any brand. Another girl had come up to me to ask me if I needed help in finding anything. I told her "no thanks, I'm just looking around." This Sephorra looked like all the other ones. It's always so interesting to check out how come of the employees do their makeup. Some get really creative. When it was time to check out there was only one cashier. There were 2 people in front of me & 2 behind me. Not sure why they didn't get another girl to come help ring everyone up. Though this store only had one cashier counter. The cashier didn't even offer to tell me how many reward points I had on my account or ask me if I i was interested in turning them in for a small gift and I know I have points cause I didn't redeem them on my last trip to a Sephora. To preface, I don't use makeup and I wanted to start learning how to use it. With that said, I came into the store on a mission to check out their tinted moisturizer and blush. An employee named Lola helped me out, and she was so helpful and knowledgeable about the product! She started off with a skin examination by scanning my forehead and cheek with the little camera device they have. She then walked me to the areas of the recommended tinted moisturizer and blush products and explained to me what they were, what they do, and even how to apply them! I told her I didn't know how to do my makeup, so she informed me that they offer makeup lessons and gave me a pamphlet explaining more details. Seems like a commonality with low reviews are the same, racism at this location. I came in on a week day when there was only one other person in the store. I smiled and said hi. The employee looked at me then back down at her phone. I stayed in the store for about 20 minutes being ignored. At the end I told one employee this was the first time I had been in a Sephora and completely ignored the entire time. She just said "oh, sorry". Please retrain your employees that just because a customer may not appear like the other usual customers in this area you should treat them with respect. They could be a physician ready to spend ALOT of money on new makeup and perfume . I had such a wonderful experience today that it turned around a rather terrible one I had at the Town Square location. The wonderful staff at this location were prompt in providing service, informed me that the promotion I was seeking had finished, and offered additional help. They seem to be well staffed at this location and have knowledgeable individuals providing product recommendations. After being ignored at the Town Square location, I had a delightful interaction with staff at this location. Mary helped find exactly what I needed and helped my mom select the appropriate gift sets. Although I've scaled back my makeup purchases in recent years due to the pandemic, I'm more inclined to shop in person at this location because of the wonderful experiences I've had here. I came in on 4/2/24 and was extremely upset with the management and the employee. Usually when I'm here I'm being bombarded by employees asking if I need help. This time nobody came up to me. I had to ask the first person I seen. The lady I asked simply said "somebody else can help you." When I went to go check out I asked for a manger. I told the manger what happened she already knew who I was talking about and said she wasn't clocked in yet. In my professional opinion the employee simply could've told me that she hasn't clocked in yet but ensured me she would come back to help. But NO. All I got was somebody else can help you. I felt dismissed. I was there maybe 30-45 minutes I ended up having to go in the drawer underneath myself because it was too much for somebody to help me. One of THE worst experiences I've ever had at a Sephora! As a rouge member who spends a lot of money at this location I was extremely disappointed in how I was treated by the manager Glenn. At first i wanted a fragrance and i felt like i was being followed by him to the back because he was at the front door and when i headed straight back there he turned quickly and was right behind me. I started looking for what I wanted and was smelling different testers while he lingered nearby. I found what fragrance I wanted and needed someone to get it for me. At that point no one was nearby that could help me so i walked around getting shampoos i needed and was looking on a lower shelf when he came out of nowhere and asked me very rudely if i needed help with anything. I grabbed the bottle and stood up and said yes actually I'd like to get a fragrance i saw on the app and just smelled. He then rolled his eyes and said I can check but the app is probably not correct. He walked off and helped someone else. I literally waited close to 15 minutes for him to come and let me know if the product was in stock or not. I watched him come out of the back and go continue helping clients while I was still waiting. I finally approached him and asked nicely if it was in stock and he said ," oh I forgot to tell you we don't have it." With total attitude and then walked away. I thought wow that's a terrible attitude and continued to shop. I found a few other items I wanted but I felt like I was being followed throughout the store by another employee and was asked if I needed help several more times than was necessary. I felt very uncomfortable by my entire experience at this location. At checkout the girl who was checking me out was very kind and when I asked about the gentleman who had helped me originally she said "oh he's our StoreManager." I paid for my items and left. I will not be returning to this location anytime soon just because the store manager was a jerk. I felt profiled because i was in sweats and my day off clothes, i also felt like i was inconveniencing the staff by even walking in the store (which wasn't busy at all). I will gladly take my money to the Summerlin location. As someone who owns several businesses in this area I couldn't believe that a Store Manager would act this way. Myself and my employees would never talk to customers in this way. I guess some people just don't know what actual customer service should be.
