I honestly found it difficult to find vegan lunch at a restaurant in this area. --There was a Publix nearby and that was nice because I could purchase lunch foods there, but the nicest thing for me was that during the Work conference I was there to attend, I went into Bright Ice instead of lunch one day and had a waffle cone with some vegan Oreo ice cream. The ice cream was really tasty, and the two workers in the store were very attentive and quick to serve us. I was not displaced with my choice. The lady working there was so patient and kind -- she let me sample several flavors since it was my first time visiting (and I couldn't decide because everything looked amazing!). This has become one of our favorite spots for ice cream - the flavor "oat of this world" was made for people like my husband and I who love oatmeal cookies - it's such a great ice cream flavor. This location is small and doesn't have much indoor seating, but we always manage to sit and eat our ice cream there. I was able to sample 4 different flavors: cookies n cream, marshmallow cookies and caramel, vanilla, and blueberry with cinnamon. - Cookies n cream was my favorite. - Marshmallow cookies and caramel has a lot going on but delivers a unique taste & texture that I enjoyed. - Vanilla was decent, it's not your basic old vanilla and you can tell based on the taste and description. - Blueberry with cinnamon was probably the most interesting & flavor intriguing flavor based on its description but it was just okay. I'm glad that Bright Ice has made it over to Tampa, but the location is difficult it you're not in downtown/Harbour Island based on the parking situation. I love Bright Ice. Their roasted strawberry with balsamic is sooooo delicious. I do think Chill Bros does a better ice cream, but I love the flavor profiles at Bright Ice. On this visit, I tried the Florida Sunburn, which was key lime with mango jam and some sort of pepper (habanero?) that gave a kick at the end. It was delicious, but the texture wasn't quite right to me. I sampled only a few flavors but I ultimately went with the strawberry with brown sugar and balsamic ice cream, which was an interesting combination but it worked. It was soo creamy, soo smooth, and not overly sweet. The flavors of the other ice cream l sampled were true to their names and also very good. The ice cream in this shop also has a "clean" quality to the flavor of their ice cream, meaning that it felt like the flavors were more natural and free of artificial flavors or ingredients that change the quality, mouth feel, and aftertaste of ice cream, and are things that you might get from cheaper lower quality ice cream out there.
