The Office on Signal Butte has a staff that are smiling and happy but it seems to be a problem with the scheduling. I speak for my own experience, I had my temp crown on and water on a call from the office to schedule me when they have my crown ready. When I didn't get a call I figured to follow up up and call. So, the person who answered the phone said oh yeah ( it has been here with). In my mind was thinking why I didn't get a call to finish the work? However, I just wanted to get it done and ignored the comment. This caused me to lose trust on the front office process and if it wasn't for the doctor, I would have gone to a completely different office. The doctor did a great Job treating me ( I get it is not a specific person fault but it is the office problem to follow up and prioritise appointments. read more

**Suspect billing practices**. First let me start off with the service and care are in line with industry standards. However, my concern comes from the billing and lack of transparency in their billing practices. I have tried to call to get it rectified on multiple occasions at this point and left with the "we will resubmit to your insurance for a fourth time" response. I have a DHMO family plan and this is my assigned provider, I have received my EOB from the insurance and even called them to verify my coverage. Under the plan the provider agrees to a discounted rate to be considered a network provider, the insurance paid the allowable rate for each service per the agreement. Now the provider's office is billing me for the "discount" directly and even sent my bill to their external business office to act as collections. The office even quoted a different amount for non-covered services than what was billed. $86 for fluoride that I was told would be a $5 up charge? read more

I have really loved coming here and everybody's so nice. However they cancel my appointments very often and I am so busy that it takes me months to reschedule. This is not good for my teeth and it is definitely bad business. I would love to give this place a great review because they are nice but with being canceled like five times the night before in my time there is just unacceptable. It's not like somebody is absent tomorrow. They just said they were trying to move up some of their appointments since they had cancellations. I hope it was worth it for them to lose my business after a decade just because they want to go home a few hours earlier. This is so inconsiderate for their customers. I love the doctor. I don't know what is wrong with the office staff but I'm getting really tired of being told I owe them money when I go in. My insurance company says no attempts have been made to access my orthodontics coverage which is more than enough to cover my care. There's a new equally stupid excuse every time. My care has been delayed and my braces have been on far longer than they should have been because their finance people can't get it together. I am on the verge of ripping my teeth out of my head just to get a break from these stupid things. And to go in after not being able to get in for months and have people make jokes about "I know you like your braces but we should get you finished up and get those off" as if I'm just skipping appointments for shits and giggles is absolutely infuriating. Currently, I've got exposed wires tearing up my cheeks because something came loose and I can't get in. I am so over it. So I'm throwing a tantrum because I'm frustrated and can't do much else at the moment. I have an actual deformity they told me they could correct and I was so hopeful and I'm just getting jerked around by people who don't know how to do their jobs and being nice has not gotten me anywhere. I know it's not just me having issues My sister paid them off and they tried telling her at her last appointment that she owed them money. Even though no mention was made of that at the time and the reason they gave for the surprise $500 payment made absolutely no sense. Somethings very wrong. And I'm over it. read more

I tried this office because of their location and my first visit was almost two hours for xrays and a cleaning. I never saw the doctor because I couldn't wait any longer. I have been going to the dentist for over thirty years and have never had any issues with my teeth. When I went to this office I was told I needed a treatment for gingivitis and it would cost me about $200 out of pocket, so I made an appointment, but later canceled my appointment and went back to my previous dentist office. They continue to say I have healthy gums and teeth. This office just wanted to make money off of me for a treatment I still don't need to this day. read more

The one star this place got was for the dental assistants and hygienists, that were always delightful. I wish I could say the same about the office managers and Doctors. My experience started when I needed an office that would take walk ins for a bad tooth that needed attention quick. Bright Now on Signal Butte was able to get me in right away. I was told I needed a root canal, and I scheduled that appointment. I was disappointed to find out that appointment was pretty far away in Chandler. I was early to my appointment, but that didn't matter. They were hours (yes hours) late getting me into my appointment. The girls in the front office were seemingly annoyed and generally unprofessional. To their defense, the main employee who worked the front office had walked out and quit the day prior. The original dentist I saw at Bright Now gave me an advisement for my treatment plan, and provided multiple options. Together we had agreed on a certain treatment plan, that I was going to complete over a series of visits. In the meantime, my bad tooth that had received a root canal and had been crowned never stopped hurting. I went in, and it was discovered that the root canal wasn't done right, and I had to go back to Chandler again. This was done at no extra charge, as it was their fault. Unfortunately the tooth was already crowned, so they had to drill through the crown and fill it. A while later, I returned to the Signal Butte location that had a new manager and dentist. The new dentist began to advise me what my treatment plan should be, and it was different than the first dentist. I kindly told her that the other dentist and I had already made a treatment plan. She rudely snapped at me, and told me to listen to her when she talks. Ultimately, we went with the treatment plan that was already laid out. Due to cost and finances, I financed all of the services through Bright Now's financing company Smile Brands. The manager gave me an "estimate" of what the total bill would be and asked me to sign on a random line drawn on a piece of paper. I should mention that I was reclined in the patient chair with the apron chained around my neck. I said I wouldn't agree until I had an actual amount, and not just an estimate. I later agreed to what the manager said was the actual amount, and that if it would be anything different, it would be cheaper not more expensive. I agreed to the treatment and financing. One of the treatments provided was a partial denture. That broke within 6 months. I paid every payment in full and on time. Always. As I was about to pay the last payment, months later, Bright Now sent me a statement saying I owed them almost $500. I called to inquire about the statement, and was told that was what insurance didn't cover. I went into the office, and the manager never showed me a break down of what insurance paid and didn't pay. Instead, she said I agreed to pay any uncovered amount when I signed the new patient packet. I asked her to show me that packet, and she did. I had not initialed that specific section of the contract, but she didn't care, because I signed the last page. She was unprofessional, and offered no other explanation or solution. Just confirmed that o owed the amount on the statement. I never saw a claim from insurance showing an unpaid amount. I said I would work with them when they could prove I owed that amount. I then started getting phone calls from Smile Brands attempting to collect payment. I told them the same thing, and always requested that a manager contact me to come up with a solution and explanation. This never happened. Nobody ever proved that I owed that amount. Not once. It was always just statements and phone calls. Eventually I was sent to collections, and paid collections a reduced amount to satisfy the "debt". The real bummer is that the root canal still didn't work, and my tooth still hurts. My partial denture broke, and I paid through the nose for those things. It was an unbelievably frustrating experience from beginning to end. read more

To say the least They are Insurance Mongers here the Dentist they had Dr Jim Pierillo did work that was not needed , Maureen who's in charge of Insurance there is a scammer , glad to say after my insurance caught them for doing unesseary work to me he was let go , if you have insurance and pay cash they will rip you off , I had crowns put in that were not needed ,a simple fix was all it needed , it took a while but they were caught ! My insurance co caught them and would not pay for the crown and Bright ate the cost ! This place I would run from if I were you ! This is the truth , PS Also Crystal the desk clerk is a trained scammer taught from Maureen to botch up insurance and collect cash , no receipt unless you ask ,then it will take a while for them to make one up for ya ! read more

After sitting in the chair for 2 hours in pain and after a hygienist coming in to see me, and after she told me she'd have to get a supervisor to get me assistance with my pain, I still was left in the chair and ignored! I finally got up and just left. If they treat a new patient like that I guess they don't want patients to return!! I wasted well over 2 hours there and STILL went back home in pain! read more

Went in for a two fillings and a cleaning. Appointment was at 1:30. Showed up on time and was in the chair promptly, so good start. However I waited for the dentist until almost 2:30. No big deal, right ? I moved on and let it go and the doctor did the first filling. He went to do the second in which I felt pain so he gave me another numbing shot. He said I'll be back in five mins to continue. If I had waited for 10-15 mins that's not a big deal but I was there for 30 minutes while he was next door with another patient. I began getting frustrated because I could feel the numbing started to fade and I knew I'd need another shot. Had he came back in the 5-10 mins like he said he would I think I would have been okay. So I got up from my chair, went next door and said I'm leaving. The dentists didn't say a word nor did the dental hygienist who walked me up to the front. No apology, nothing. The front desk was super nice and understanding but unfortunately there are many dentists to choose from and that was enough for me to look elsewhere. Maybe next time if you can't meet your time hack, you at least apologize to the patient. read more

I scheduled a next day appointment, it was nice being able to get in right away. The hygienist made me feel comfortable and explained things to me as she was doing them. I love that they offer before hours, after hours and even weekend appointments. I scheduled my daughter a Saturday appointment to not conflict with school and sports. My husband and I both went today for exams and cleaning. Neither one of us were impressed and will not be going back. Hygienist barely touched our teeth; NOT a cleaning and the female dentist wanted us both to have extra unnecessary work done. I only went there because they were within network for my insurance. Stay away! Needless to say, we won't be going back. They also tried to collect a $30 co-pay from each of us. I questioned that because we had never paid a co-pay before. I called BCBS from there and they said I do not pay co-pay. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. High pressure salespeople. read more

I wanted to like the place The employees are warm and friendly and seem quite knowledgeable. The dentist was thorough and friendly and presented a good plan for what I needed. So, the problem? They did not present a sanitized environment. A place can be simple, older and still clean - right? All who touched me had gloves on. The problem is I saw the gloves touch many surfaces ( keyboard, wall, under chair, files, pencil, pen, adjust stool, hand mirror, switch, mouse) before and during them being in my mouth. Even after my gums were bleeding from the normal poking around. I asked for a antibacterial rinse but was just rinsed with water even after explaining my concerns. I brought this up to the folks and they were good about my comments but had no offer of how to better the situation I even made an appointment to return but after telling my friends about the experience every one of them said to not go back. Sometimes I have to listen to the majority and just hope that it changes now. The overall energy is one of having given up, not sure what that is about. A fantastic experience today at Bright Now Dental in the mall on Signal Butte, Mesa! A fun fact: no wait! On time, friendly, efficient! Dr Shah, Roger, Liza, Brittney & Sabrina are a true team dedicated to patient health. And there was no attempt to do unnecessary work. Dr Shah even explained about a much lower cost repair for a gum issue versus sending me off to a Gum Specialist for surgery. I had the fillings done & voila' procedure complete. I wasn't the patient my bf was but from my point of view and interaction this isn't the best place at all. We had to get his wisdom tooth removed because it was impacted and infected. This was one of the only places that excepted his "insurance." When we told the lady at the front desk that his insurance wasn't going to cover what he was having done she said "we have a great discount plan for cash pay patients" ...come to find out there is no actual "discount plan" we were technically paying the exact same thing we were quoted. Also on his first visit he was just going in for the one tooth because it was causing a lot of pain, they told him it needed to be removed (which we expected) but also made sure to tell him the other 3 HAD to be removed! They aren't causing him any pain or problems at all...why does he have to have them removed you ask?? well my guess is because it cost $600 per tooth and times 4 for a cash pay patient...well that's a nice little paycheck just because! Anywho....getting to another thing that I was really not happy about. When we left the office it was 3:45pm. We got about halfway to the pharmacy when we realized we didn't know when he was supposed to remove the gauze from his mouth. He didn't want to pull it out too soon and have issues with bleeding but we didn't want to leave it in too long considering it was bothering him too. So we checked the papers they gave us, which only tell us what to do the next day and from there on out. Fine, no biggie I will just call them. So it was 4:15, the sign on the door said they closed at 5, cool I didn't miss them. I call and ask my question, the lady on the other end says " I don't have is information I can't answer that question" (she didn't even tell me it was the answering service so I thought I was on the phone with the office) I said we were just in his info should definitely be there and probably even within arms reach. She says "the office is closed no one is there I don't have his info I can not answer your question"...I ask "no one is there? im confused, arent you there?" she says "no you have reached the answering service i suggest you call back when the office re-opens"...............really lady?! that's 3 days from now its friday! ...........so needless to say we figured it out on our own and he's doing fine today! But the service we got from them, and the answering service was awful. I did not feel like they truly cared about there clients. It more felt like everyone was there as a paycheck. And actually while I was waiting for my bf in the waiting room there were 2 other clients that were at the counter complaining to the girls at the desk about some bills they had that were outrageous, unnecessary and for work they hadn't had done!! My advice....don't go there! read more

This location is awesome! They have a great staff and are. Garcia is the sweetest! I have a horrible gig reflex and they take that into consideration whenever working on my mouth which I love because sometimes people don't care. The front desk woman, Amy, is so nice and is always there to help people out and answer any questions you may have. She never makes you feel like an idiot! Repeated phone calls to their billing department and they agreed I didn't owe it but after many months they kept sending bills and threatening collection. My daughter came in for her orthodontics appointment and we were 15 minutes late. I understand that we were late but our appointment was at 4:00 and we had to wait until 5:30 to be seen. We didn't end up leaving the office until 7. My daughter informed me that during the appointment the dentist kept blaming her for being late, and giving my daughter a hard time. I expressed my frustration with the office manager and the dentist was eaves dropping and interrupted the conversation the office manager and I were having. She had complete attitude and was very rude. We were not the only ones who had an issue. There was another mother with her daughter who was also upset with the wait times she has been experiencing with this office. I will be calling he district manager to further my complaints tomorrow. read more

This is NOT the place to get quality dental care. It's over priced as well. My story: I visited this location right before Christmas and was advised by the dentist that I needed a tooth pulled. We scheduled the extraction for the 28th of December. I asked the dentist to manage the pain until that time. He said its against his personal policy to prescribe pain medicine. He ended up prescribing 7 pills but there would be a need for 14 because it would take one per day with ibuprofen. He refused to prescribe the additional 7. I went to another dentist and he prescribed me the additional 7. I get that controlled substances can be abused but when it interferes with the quality of care there's a problem. I also found out that the tooth extraction and bridge build was $300 cheaper just around the corner. Don't go there folks. You're paying for the high priced retail locations their located at. In particular, stay away from the Signal Butte location because their care is horrible. read more

I have been going to Bright Now Dental for two years now and they have not only an excellent front staff but a superb back office staff. The office is always clean, neat, and organized. They always call me to confirm my appointments and the prices for treatment is always reasonable. I never have to wait long to get seen, and the exams are very through with xrays, pictures, and the hygienist also takes measurements of the gums. The dentist is very nice and educational and takes time to explain treatment that needs to be done and the assistance are gentle and kind. The office even has an orthodontist 2 times a month and he gives free consultations for braces. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone. read more

I would like to add a positive review for this company. 1. Appointment same day, which was amazing since others were days out. 2. Staff was amazing when i came in. Wait time was approx 15 minutes. They emailed me paperwork to fill out prior so i had all that completed. 4. Staff was professional and i had the extraction done immediately. Price was fantastic ans lower than i expected. This sort of practice deserves recognition and im not sure how these other reviews are bad but i just thought i would share my experience. Service was adequate until husband had dental abscess-dentist looked at x-ray and diagnosed need for root canal on opposite side of mouth. Called after-hours emergency line when pain and swelling worsened, was initially told need for antibiotics "was not an emergency." When I insisted I needed to speak to a dentist, was told there were no dentists on-call. Husband ended up at urgent care for antibiotics, and saw a (non Smile Bright) dentist who is fantastic. No one from Smile Bright ever contacted me regarding concern. read more

Walking in this office reminds me of a sad nursing home environment. It is evident this company is only concerned about the bottom line and not creating customers who want to return. the dentist kept telling me how perfect his work was for cosmetic crowns.. i had planned to do other work with them as well.. luckily i asked to have this one crown done first.. sadly it looks like a big wad of gum and does not resemble a tooth at all! there is no biting surface. it is so thick that when i chew i keep biting my cheek!.. unfortunately it is in my mouth now.. when i went back to voice my dissatisfaction the dentist said " oh, i have a crown like that too" and there was nothing he could do about it!! besides that ... all he tried to do was to get me to spend more money by offering me the "best" of treatments.. i would never go back there and i suggest you don't go either. read more

The dentist and professional staff do superficial exams and cleanings. But they aggressively recommend costly unnecessary treatments. It's clear that the staff has a predatory view of patients. This has been the worst dentist I have ever been to. They kept telling me my kids needed braces because their teeth were perfect but not exactly perfect. What a joke. Also they called me over and over trying to convince me that they needed them. Went into this office yesterday and mind you I hate going to the dentist. Its a very uncomfortable experience for me regardless. But this tops the books. From the time I came in to the office none of the staff even acknowledged me and said hi. They never asked me for my ID to verify me either. I arrived at 3:30p for a 4p appointment in which at no point did the staff ever tell me, hey its taking a bit longer but you're next or whatever the case was. at 4:25p I went to front desk and politely told them my time is valuable and what is the hold up. Imagine that, two minutes later I'm being taken back for my xrays in which the tech was nice but she was touching a switch and machines and then putting her contaminated gloves on the mouth pieces that went into my mouth. The actual dentist was okay but never shook my hand which is a minor detail but shows lack of bedside manner. The hygienist was soft spoken and not rude in any way. But she was very critical and completely had a lack of comfort to her explaining to me that I have really bad periodontal gum disease. Now mind you I'm 24, brush floss and listerine daily. I dont deny I have neglected cleanings in the last few years but this seemed a little harsh to me. I would not recommend this place to my enemy. Worst service and tacky professionalism if you can even call it that. read more
