Today I had two wisdom teeth (visible/erupted) removed. It was smooth and almost painless. The extraction was done directly, without surgery, and it was much easier than I ever expected. Dr. Cheung and his assistant were absolutely exceptional. They understood my phobia and anxiety and knew how to help me stay calm. Their patience, clear explanations, and reassuring approach made all the difference during the procedure. Staff demonstrates Weaponized Incompetence & Entitlement. I have had a good experience with Dr. Cheung. However, I needed some simple x-rays of my teeth and either the x-ray holder was TOO BIG for my mouth or the "hygenist?" was placing them incorrectly and they wouldn't go in. I said, OW. YOU'RE HURTING ME. So she shoved harder and started fussing like a 2 year old. I said, STOP. THEY DON'T FIT. DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. She stamped her feet, fussed like a baby and said, so you are refusing the procedure? NO, i said. IT DOESN'T FIT. DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. She called in another staff member to complain that i was Un-Cooperative or something. This staff member did NOTHING USEFUL. Didn't even speak to me at all. 1st woman- then braced herself like she was pushing a bolder up a mountain and began SHOVING the appliance back into my mouth. It still didn't fit. I was in so much PAIN that i nearly jumped out of the chair. Almost to tears, the 1st highly trained and skilled "hygenist" finally brought in Dr. Cheung. I told him the appliance didn't fit in my mouth. Please do something different. He immediately told them to do the xray a different way. No problems. It was done in a moment. Professional. I DON'T BELIEVE that the xray film would not fit in my mouth with the application of even the slightest professionalism or patience or that ANY of the fussing and violence to my mouth associated with getting the x-ray was even necessary. Any person even remotely interested in actually getting the job done- would have accomplished this simple task with almost no trouble at all. This female hygenist and the staff in general are Stunningly Brave, absolutely Beautiful, perfect in Every Way and are obviously being oppressed. Please don't change a thing. have been using them for years and the dentists are good but recently told i needed a root canal. At the beginning of my appointment was provided with the billing information. I agreed with it and paid upfront for the service of a root canal, crown build up, and crown. Upon completion of the root canal "which ran late". I was scheduled for my next appointment where i was presented with an additional bill for the crown and build up. The charge was an additional $1000 more than agreed upon and paid for initially (with signatures confirming). The original payment made was signed and dated making it a legally binding contract which they refuse to abide by. Upon bringing it to their attention they refused to complete the services and cancelled my appointment to complete the services. If i were informed of the billing prior then i would have been able to have it pulled instead of them forcing me into a procedure of over $1600. Do not use this practice unless you want to be hit with charges after you have paid for services in full. They will refuse service. read more

I had extreme tooth pain and they got me in to see the Dentist immediately (even though I was not a patient there previously). I had neglected my dental care for many years and was terrified, but the tooth pain was so extreme and unrelenting I had no choice. Dr. Cheung was awesome. He worked around some of my other health issues and relieved my pain that very day. I cannot recommend this dental practice strongly enough. I do not recommend this place at all, solely because of the dentists. The other staff is great, but the doctors. Oh boy. My family and I have gone here for years and we finally had enough due to them constantly doing poor jobs, missing stuff, overall not a good quality. For starters, my little sister who was 6 at the time, got a root canal. She complained of pain because they burned and seared off some flesh from her gums where they were falling off. Then she got caps for her cavities and it FELL off. We had to go to another dentist to fix their mistake and pay out of pocket. Lastly, for me, the dentist didn't correctly give me a numbing shot which resulted in me not being able to fully open my mouth for an entire WEEK. The staff members were very helpful with the many questions I had; especially questions regarding insurance coverage and the many different options for non-insurance. This is for my spouse's treatment on 7/21/21. We visited the Bright smile for tooth pain. Doctor examined and prescribed medicine. After the treatment, we started to leave. Reached the car. Someone in the office came and asked to proceed with dental cleaning. She was resisting and finally agreed to perform cleaning. Invoiced two times for evaluation (Limited Evaluation & Complete Evaluation), one time for emergency visit,twice for Xrays and cleaning. Total amount of $598. When I called the Doctor's office about the $598 Invoice, they mentioned that $343 was written off and patient responsibility is $255 because Insurance didn't pay anything for the treatment. They also sent a physical letter about $255 pending Payment. In that letter they mentioned the write-off of $343. I called insurance (MetLife) and they mentioned $343 was paid and $255 was not paid because complete evaluation should cover both limited and emergency evaluation. I called Bright Smile in the first week of August and shared the details provided by my insurance company for a $343 payment. They promised that they would look into it and call me back. However they didn't call for 10 days. I called Bright smile again on 17th August. This time they acknowledged the payment from my insurance of $343. However they mentioned that only $118 was written off and Patient has to pay $134 for an Emergency Visit. I have mentioned about the letter what I have received earlier. This is disappointing. They were able to see me right away when I arrived and even removed my wisdom teeth all in the same appointment. The two things that matter most about a dentist's office are that they're gentle and that they're on time. Dr. Cheung's office is great at both. I have been a patient for 4-5 years and I haven't had an appointment that I left dissatisfied. I am always called back within a minute or two after I arrive. They moved into a very nice, new office in 2013. It is a very calming place to have a procedure done and it is equipped with new technology so they can show you all of your records on the TV screen. Even though his office is further away from my house, I didn't consider switching dentists for a second. I probably pass by several dentists on my way to his office but I will continue to be a patient. Dr Cheung's hours are also very helpful (they don't seem to be correct on this Yelp page right now). He has appointments as early as 7:00am and as late as 7:00pm depending on the day of the week. He also has Saturday openings as well. That makes it very easy to schedule. read more

Great Dentist and superb office. The office was very modern and the waiting area had nice amenities like coffee, water (without asking), just a warm feeling. Equipment wise they have all the modern equipment instant X-rays, video cameras for the mouth etc. The dentist and the hygiene staff were friendly, intelligent, and funny, and and great to work with. I had cleaning then a few fillings done. Dr Cheung was awesome. Teeth feel great after and look great now. Honestly the best part though is the little things. The chairs are much more comfy than normal dentist chairs. Good size TV in the dental cleaning room. When doing the fillings they put on specialty glasses so the light doesn't blind you for the next 30 minutes. And even the toothpaste/toothbrush bag they give you after is in a nice pre sealed bag with other items in there as well. Scheduled cleanings for both my son and daughter, was told by the office workers themselves that it would be $150 for my daughter and $250 for my son as he is a first time patient and needed a full mouth x ray but my daughter already had one. All they did for my daughter was a bite x-ray which is only $45. Both my son and daughter got cleanings and the dentists said their teeth looked great. My sons wisdom teeth had come in perfectly and were causing him no problems, however they keep insisting he needed them taken out because they are "hard to clean." So we finished up the appointments and the next day when I checked how much they billed the insurance, they billed $250 dollars for my daughters appointment and $424 for my sons appointment. This obviously was ridiculous given what they had told me it would cost originally. When I called them on the phone to ask why they had practically double charged me they told me to not worry because the insurance would pay...and kept avoiding the actual question of WHY they charged me double without saying anything. They also tried to tell me they double charged for my sons cleaning + x ray all because they "talked" to him about his wisdom teeth?? They literally tried to say that the charge was justified because they "talked" about wisdom teeth. Absolutely ridiculous. I cancelled any future appointments and will be switching dentists and never coming back to this place. Do not come here they are there to fool you and take your money. read more

By far and away the best dental office I have ever been too, and that is coming from someone who is extremely critical of doctor's offices. You can tell this place is top notch by just walking into the lobby and seeing the design of the office. It is clearly obvious that Dr. Cheung and his staff want their patients to feel comfortable and at ease but more importantly they want it assure theirs patients they are getting top of the line service. Not only is the design of the office above and beyond but the technology they use during your appointment is the most advanced I have seen out of all my previous dental offices. The hygienists and the office manager are exceptionally nice and they are exceedingly qualified. They are always concerned about your well-being and always want to make sure you are having the best experience possible. My hygienist was very thorough and took her time to make sure everything was in order, all while being very in tentative to your comfort. Dr. Cheung himself is hands down the best dentist I have ever had, and I have had 4 previous dentists in my lifetime. He is very thorough, and when he talks to you about your teeth he does it in a way you can easily understand. I think the two things that stood out most to me about him and his office are this.. 1.) You never got the sense they were just trying to "Churn and Burn" you as a patient. Meaning you never got a feeling they were just trying to get through your appointment and get to the next one and just get as many patients in as possible. They really do truly care about quality and their reputation as an office. 2.) They don't try to "over sell" you on anything. Sometimes at doctor's offices especially ones involving your teeth I get the feeling they highly recommend extra procedures just to pocket extra cash not because I actually need it. Dr. Cheung talked about my potential problems and things we could do but gave and insisted on ways to prevent the need for these extra procedures instead of just doing it to make more money. And that is something I respect about a person especially a doctor. Also it makes me feel a lot better about when he actually does recommend a procedure that it is really something needed and I trust it is the best thing for me. In conclusion, Dr. Cheung and his staff are by far the best office I have been too compared to any previous dentist offices. Simply put you can tell Dr. Cheung re-invests a lot of money into his practice rather it is the office design, the technology they use during your appointment, and especially his staff. And someone who thinks it is more important to re-invest money into his practice rather than take an extra profit is someone I trust with my medical health especially something as important as my teeth. read more
