I was fortunate to attend a Yelp Elite Squad event here at Bright Spark Brewing several weeks ago. Dear Hubby and Sweet Granddaughter had originally dropped me off, then came back to wait for my brunch to finish. How lovely to find them at a communal table, with SG playing with a new kind of building toy. We decided to stay put and order food for the three of us. I was anxious to try their pizza with vegan cheese, as that hadn't been an option at the hosted event. DH and I shared the one with lots of savory mushrooms and spices. Thumbs way up! We also ordered mac & cheese for the youngest family member, plus fries. At four, she loves carbs on top of carbs. The southern wall of their large space has plentiful windows. On a late-autumn afternoon, having the sun come in from behind and warm my back felt fabulous. There are various seating areas. The main room where the bar / ordering station is located offers many tables. The adjacent area where we were is a transitional space, with long tables. There's a bookcase with books and games for kids, which is a brilliant idea. The room is narrow and wide, leading back to several other rooms which can be rented by groups of various sizes. A large baby shower was being prepped when we arrived. Later, we got to watch the guests enter with their brightly wrapped gifts and party clothes. Great for people-watching. The staff members are friendly and helpful. They know their offerings very well and can make suggestions based on your input for preferences or dietary restrictions. The facilities are kept clean and neat, including the ladies restroom. Everything about this operation seems to be well-planned, well-run, and a treasure for the community with the option of those meeting spaces in the back. We'll definitely be back. read more

You should stop at this place if in Ventura or driving through! We had the Snack Plate and the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich, both were amazing. The sauces were so tasty, the pita was cooked perfectly and the chicken was moist and deliciously spiced. The food is very upscale (and healthier) in comparison to other breweries we have visited. They have a very good selection of beer and wine. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun. And the service is top notch. Will definitely be back when we drive through Ventura. read more

I've wanted to try this place for awhile now... it is located right next to Wheelhouse dispensary, and that was the inspiration to give it a go. I had a brown ale, which is one of the best I've tasted anywhere. My wife ordered a strawberry lemonade (a tasty non-alcoholic beverage). We ordered the wild mushroom pizza. Bright Spark's pizzas are unique. I've eaten pizza all over the world, and this compares well with all I've had. The service was great from bartender Matt... The business has a huge open space (perfect for larger groups), and it's dog-friendly (a definite bonus). We will definitely return! read more

After checking out Yelp friends' rave reviews, I had to try it out and was NOT disappointed. A light, bright space off Market with its own parking, there were plenty of tables on a Tuesday, but began filling up the later it got. I knew I had to try the fried chickpeas, and loved their fun crunch. They paired well with Sriracha and the garlic dipping sauce. Everything tasted great with the garlic, from the carrots to the cauliflower and beets. All was flavorful and fresh. My husband had the 4 beer sampler and proclaimed them all tasty. Not a beer drinker, I was happy to wine, cider, sangria and mimosas were offered. Their rose' mimosa was light and pleasant. Definitely don't go here 60 mins before closing. They won't greet you. Just grab the menus and say the kitchen is closed. Never greeted. Definitely not pleasant. Probably not there type of people to enjoy the menu. Bearded bartender was not someone I'd want to get food or a drink from. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

My husband found Bright Spark here on Yelp and being that the location is tucked away in this industrial area on Market I'm not sure we would know it's there. These days there's several brewery restaurants opening up in a variety of similar areas...it's very cool! We absolutely loved our first time here! Really cool atmosphere, open air, lots of tables, a sitting area with a couch and there's even a good size place in back for private parties. And they have music playing fun 80's (not too loud.) They offer quite the menu with a variety of foods, something for everyone! Their beer selection is amazing! A handful are their own creations...we loved the Twilight which is a malty, creamy beer w/notes of coffee. My husband and I both tried the double smash burger and so glad we did! Awesome flavor! Their unique touches like the pickled onions and special sauce, truly set them apart! We also tried their cookies, one a chocolate chip cookie and the other browned butter dark chocolate chunk tahini cookie both INCREDIBLE! Wish I took more pictures! Our mighty YELP leader gave a rave review to Bright Spark Brewery, and I knew I had to check it out, too. Sitting on Market Street in the heart of Ventura's industrial/warehouse district, it's easy to find. The brewery has lots of room and an impressive array of stainless steel tanks equipment in view. I ordered a sample pack (4 brews for $16). I enjoyed each one, but especially liked the Buenaventura and Requiem. We ordered a snack plate (pickled beets, cauliflower and cucumbers over hummus with fried pita chips-$14) served with the Zhug ang garlic sauces on the side. Delicious! Great spot for beers and bites! Ordered a hazy IPA, a burger, and kids chicken tenders. The tenders were JUICY and soooo crispy and I loved the shoestring fries. The burger was simple and tasty (I love it when burgers aren't overloaded and you can actually fit it in your mouth). They also serve wine, mimosas, etc which is great for when you're not feeling a beer. The staff is amazing and I can tell they are dog people because they all stopped by to say hi and gave us so many treats! Very chill, very vegan-friendly and very delicous. We were famished after a day of hiking and unexpected whale-watching; with a die-hard vegan in the group, I immediately pulled up my Yelp app and searched "vegan". Up came Bright Spark and we headed over. SERVICE: Five Stars! Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and explained the menu procedures perfectly. MENU: Delicious! We ordered three vegan pizzas (get the dukkah!) and a snack plate, which was enough for 4 hungry people. Everything was great. DRINKS: This is a brewery, after all. Some of us ordered beer (reportedly delicious) and I had the kambucha, which was also definitely delicious. PARKING: Free in the lot. Just hosted a retirement party at bright spark. The planning phase- to the end of the event was smooth sailing. This was largely due to Bright Spark's staff and offerings. Linzy was the contact person and all of her emails were so clear and informative. The party guests repeatedly complimented the food and drinks. The choices for gluten sensitive guests were so much better than other places. We brought in hand held desserts ( brownies, cookies etc). We brought a combo of tiered serving plates and trays for the desserts. We also brought in our own tablecloths. Appreciated all the ways the staff worked together to provide a fun and easy event. They even boxed up all the leftovers for us. I highly recommend bright spark for your event. We did not have any children at our party. read more

I definitely recommend the hot honey and potato dukkah pizzas. Very unique in taste and preparation with their Sunapee crispy cheese crust! We popped in for a quick drink around noon on a Saturday and this place was hopping! As this brewery sells food, you get a lot of kids and families! A cue developed just to order...as only two people working the line and getting drinks, it took awhile to get a refreshment! Visited for trivia on a random Wednesday and had a lovely evening. Large, clean, well lit space with a few games, I'd say good for all ages and dogs are allowed on leash. Great selection of easy drinking beers of course, but also a fun sparkling Chardonnay, a few local cider options, and fresh house special cocktails. They also serve a wide variety of food, including sandwiches, pizza, and colorful salads. There are two seating areas with large tables and laminated menus at the bar, where drinks and food are ordered. Water is free at the back (napkins too). Either sit at a numbered table by the bar, or receive a number and pick your table. Update: the chicken shawarma sandwich is a must, so flavorful! Potato pizza is also amazing. This place is really cute. It doesn't look like a brewery. The color scheme they picked is so warm and inviting. My husband doesn't drink but does like cider. I love it when breweries have cider options. They only have 1 but it's still amazing that they do. My husband tried it and enjoyed it. I like IPA's. Had to try their hazy IPA. Flavor was really good. Was light in my opinion for an IPA. That's always a plus. Did have that after IPA taste which was not as bad. Really enjoyed it. I had their pepperoni pizza. It was a perfect size for 1 person or split it if you want a snack. I don't know what they do but the crust is so good. It was the right amount of crispy. A bit oily for me but still was good. My husband had their special for the day which was a burger. He really enjoyed it. Right amount of sauce, juiciness. He said it was Everyone who we interacted with that worked there were really nice. Even the chef/kitchen worker was helpful. I love how this brewery is really kid friendly. They have multiple kid stools to use. They even sell apparel for kids. They have a private room towards the back. It has its own ordering area and by the kitchen. It's a nice size room too. It's adjacent to another private area. Overall glad we found this area. Went for an early dinner on a Saturday night before a live music event held across the street. The place was almost empty, football games on the TV's, prompt service at the counter. We ordered a spinach and artichoke pizza and a beet salad to share. The pizza was very good. Perfect size to share-fresh ingredients, thin crust, cooked properly. The beet salad was large and composed of wonderful fresh ingredients (spinach, several types of beets, cheese) but it need something else to up the flavor profile (? Balsamic vinegar, ?spices like 10 tigers restaurant puts on their beet/watermelon salad?, I'm not sure). We each enjoyed a stout beer. Solid place, glad they have food unlike previous owners. This place is 8 weeks old! So it's barely a newborn! They have 4 in house beers along with micheladas, mimosas, wines, and guest taps (beers). My personal favorite was the pale ale and the robust porter. I'm sure you'll find something you like, though. You also can't go wrong with getting a pizza. I ordered the pepperoni with bacon added. Hannah and Curtis you have amazing customer service. Went in thinking it was Thursday and Id get to try the new Hazy that is released Thursday! It's Wednesday. LoL !! Hannah graciously informed me it was Wednesday. Boy, I can't wait until the weekend! Hannah was so sweet and patient! This time I tried their IPA. I really enjoyed it! What I appreciated is that, Hannah let me try it first. 'Cause this girl has commitment issues .. with beer! Also depending on the day of the week my taste buds like or don't like something! Bright Spark in our Ventura Community! This Brewery is located in the OG Ventura Craft Brewery- Surf Brewery- location. Ambiance is open, industrial with large windows that provide bright natural light. I feel that the space has a warm and welcoming vibe with spaces for community events and meetings. Service is friendly and Mel graciously gave us the tour because I knew the original business owners of SB. Food & Drink: I had a luscious Pinot Noir wine from the neighboring Wildflower Winery and friend had the lovely lavender Paloma Spritzer. For Food we enjoyed the Kale and Quinoa Salad - what makes it special is the lemon tahini dressing. We also recommend the house pizzas with the carmelized cheese surround- so delish! Next time we want to try the snack plate and Fried chicken sandwich. The Lebanese influence in the flavor profiles is evident with the garlic sauce and is a welcome addition to the Ventura food scene. We look forward to coming back! read more

There's a foosball table, a shuffleboard table, board games and books. Service was impeccable! A staff member would visit our table of 15 quite often to check in on us. Super friendly and they offered tons of suggestions on the food and beers. I love that they offer kombuchas and beers on tap. This place is amazing! One of the most welcoming family and dog friendly establishments we have been to in a while. They had the most delicious vegan options. I loved the mushroom pizza. My kids had the cheese pizza and my husband had a sandwich. Everyone was thrilled with their food. Although this place is a brewery they also had delicious wine and non-alcoholic options. Bright Spark has been a favorite of mine. When I'm feeling down, I buy a crowler of Shine. Somewhere to take the whole family? Bright Spark. On date nights we'll take Skip-Bo cards to pass the time. We went out the other night, knowing the kitchen closed in an hour (8pm) and the brewery closed at 9pm. We put all the food in as soon as we arrived. I'm obsessed with their kale and quinoa salad. The tahini dressing and pickled onions are so good. I also indulge in the fries and whipped garlic. Pairs perfectly with the beer. We got a last call for the kitchen at 7:45pm, but we were done ordering. Our table was being cleared quickly and they started to stack chairs around us. No problem. They have a strict policy about leaving open tabs and adding an automatic gratuity, absolutely not our intentions and never done that in my life. At 8:32pm, we were approached by a guy who said we needed to close our tab, as if we left it open. Don't they close at 9pm? I understand it was the X-Games weekend, but honor your hours. Closing at 9pm usually means closing staff leaves around 9:30-10pm, not at 9 on the dot. Probably wouldn't come back at night in order to not inconvenience the staff. I won't knock a star, hoping for a fluke. Still love the beer, food, loyalty points and family friendly vibe. Just don't expect to catch a pint after 8:30pm. read more

We had a fun time here with our kids! The place was clean. The food and drinks were delicious. We loved that they had Gluten Free options. They had lots of activities to keep the kids entertained. It was great! My one upset was that the 1 small pizza, 1 burger, 1 small french fries, 1 large french fries, 2 cocktails, and 1 Shirley Temple ended up costing over $100. Going out to eat is expensive, I get it. My issue is that after finishing the soda, I learned they don't give refills. I had to spend another +$5 for that. It would've been nice to know ahead of time there were no refills but also, after spending over $100, you think they could afford to refill your soda. read more

They had games and other activities to keep the little ones occupied which was nice. Tried 8 different beers (2 flights) and enjoyed them all. The hazy ipa and brown ale really stood out. Alright, so, let me first say, the food and beer was not terrible. They have individual pizzas with sumac, Za'atar, Labne, and other spices. Their food has Middle eastern profiles in them. It's almost like a fusion of Middle eastern with American food. It's very interesting. I tried the pizza, beer battered wings, chick peas and a Fried chicken sandwich and I would give them a 4 out of 5 also. It was not bad, but, just not my kind of flavor profile I like. Now, if you are adventurous and willing to try anything at least once, come try this. The beer was a 4 out of 5 for me, but that's because I usually like my IPA beers to be hoppier and I also like Hazy IPA's. The staff was really friendly. The building is very spacious and a relaxing environment, you can bring your kids here and they have some play toys, a goose all table and some other things to keep them entertained. And they also welcome pets inside. Prices are a little high for the amount of food you get. I believe my bill was around $90 with food and 3 beers. But again, I'm not saying the food or beers are bad or anything. Just not my cup of tea if you get what I mean. read more
