Bright Spark has been a favorite of mine. When I'm feeling down, I buy a crowler of Shine. Somewhere to take the whole family? Bright Spark. On date nights we'll take Skip-Bo cards to pass the time. We went out the other night, knowing the kitchen closed in an hour (8pm) and the brewery closed at 9pm. We put all the food in as soon as we arrived. I'm obsessed with their kale and quinoa salad. The tahini dressing and pickled onions are so good. I also indulge in the fries and whipped garlic. Pairs perfectly with the beer. We got a last call for the kitchen at 7:45pm, but we were done ordering. Our table was being cleared quickly and they started to stack chairs around us. No problem. They have a strict policy about leaving open tabs and adding an automatic gratuity, absolutely not our intentions and never done that in my life. At 8:32pm, we were approached by a guy who said we needed to close our tab, as if we left it open. Don't they close at 9pm? I understand it was the X-Games weekend, but honor your hours. Closing at 9pm usually means closing staff leaves around 9:30-10pm, not at 9 on the dot. Probably wouldn't come back at night in order to not inconvenience the staff. I won't knock a star, hoping for a fluke. Still love the beer, food, loyalty points and family friendly vibe. Just don't expect to catch a pint after 8:30pm. read more

Alright, so, let me first say, the food and beer was not terrible. They have individual pizzas with sumac, Za'atar, Labne, and other spices. Their food has Middle eastern profiles in them. It's almost like a fusion of Middle eastern with American food. It's very interesting. I tried the pizza, beer battered wings, chick peas and a Fried chicken sandwich and I would give them a 4 out of 5 also. It was not bad, but, just not my kind of flavor profile I like. Now, if you are adventurous and willing to try anything at least once, come try this. The beer was a 4 out of 5 for me, but that's because I usually like my IPA beers to be hoppier and I also like Hazy IPA's. The staff was really friendly. The building is very spacious and a relaxing environment, you can bring your kids here and they have some play toys, a goose all table and some other things to keep them entertained. And they also welcome pets inside. Prices are a little high for the amount of food you get. I believe my bill was around $90 with food and 3 beers. But again, I'm not saying the food or beers are bad or anything. Just not my cup of tea if you get what I mean. read more

We had a fun time here with our kids! The place was clean. The food and drinks were delicious. We loved that they had Gluten Free options. They had lots of activities to keep the kids entertained. It was great! My one upset was that the 1 small pizza, 1 burger, 1 small french fries, 1 large french fries, 2 cocktails, and 1 Shirley Temple ended up costing over $100. Going out to eat is expensive, I get it. My issue is that after finishing the soda, I learned they don't give refills. I had to spend another +$5 for that. It would've been nice to know ahead of time there were no refills but also, after spending over $100, you think they could afford to refill your soda. read more

Friendly spot w good food and beers. Open and well lit it's very welcome for everyone. I didn't have the kiddo w me but saw multiple families there. They had games and other activities to keep the little ones occupied which was nice. Tried 8 different beers (2 flights) and enjoyed them all. The hazy ipa and brown ale really stood out. My Guys (& Ladies)....... Get in HERE! I live down the street and since 2022 the previous brewery changed and is now affectionately "Bright Spark Brewery". Everything is bright and spark-y about this brewery! They have both a fantastic 'bar food' menu which includes a variety and fusion of American and Middle-Eastern. I love their pickled snack plate with crispy chickpeas - and their spicy crispy chicken sandwich is moist and delectable on a brioche bun. They have dukkah-egg and truffle-infused type pizza's that come perfectly prepared as a 10" pie. Beyond the superb food selection the atmosphere is accommodating for larger parties and they have a VERY WELL DONE drink selection. DO NOT skimp on their House Verde Michelada which pairs wonderfully with their Mexican Lager. Their tajin-house blend seasoning they use to rim the miche's is *chefs kiss*!!! Ladies can enjoy a plethora of Mimosa-based options, Mimosa-and-Rose, Beermosa's, Cider's & Kombucha - and come in for their limited release Rosemary infused house Sangria. With the amount of great breweries in the area, this one should not be passed on! They are in the industrial area behind Winco/The Habit burger off of Market St. Support this local fave by coming to grab a brew or wine and play Trivia on Wednesday evenings. Their special event room made for The perfect communal atmosphere and private enough for the handful of speechy things one does at such an occasion. First time going to bright spark a few weeks ago and was super stoked about this new addition to Ventura! They layout is very traditional brewery to me in the best of ways! They have a great selection of drinks & their food item menu options were limited,but all delicious. The pizzas are uniquely good in their own way. I also love a good brewery that has board game you can use while you have a good beer. Would highly recommend this place! Oh! and also their merch is the BEST! Decided to check out yet another Ventura option for fresh craft brew and pub fare. Being long time locals we like to try and keep our discretionary spending in town. Rolled in on a Friday around 4:30 and the place was already hoping with nearly no place left to sit which is a "good sign". Crowd was a bit stand offish and not your typical welcoming beach folk. High industrial ceilings make ambiance a little loud but that's to be expected in a warehouse location. Heard the food was top notch, and we had already researched our options so as not to hold up the line. Ordered the "Loaded Fries" which were very good and the "Smash Burger" which was only "sub so-so". The beers were just ok, not bad but we might have been tainted already before tasting. Kicker was we ordered 1/2 pints figuring we would try at least a few we had our eyes on. So the guy on the tap draws two full pints and brings them over. Then as soon as he realizes it, he picks them back up off the bar and pours them into 1/2 glasses then pours the rest out! W T Fg W, wasting good beer! much less the water that made it! So instead of saying; "hey my bad, enjoy my mistake" and making two affluent good tippers for life we might be just one and done like we were this night. No loss to them, they have a good crowd that seems to all know each other so they won't miss us. I typically don't post non stellar reviews but they immediately emailed asking for feedback and their portal had limited room for comments. Wow! So glad we tried this place on a whim. Lebanese influenced menu...shawarma on a baguette was a surprise hit! Lots of niche areas to sit with friends, open and airy space, and games for everyone to enjoy. Loved the hostess' unexpected beer pairing recommendations for our desert cookie. Stopped in after a rousing 36 holes at Golf 'n Stuff. We ordered a cheese pizza, falafel, and chicken schwarma fries, as well a kiwi flip dipa and lavender Paloma spritzer with sparkling rosé. The falafel was the best we've had in 20 years of living on the west coast. Fluffy, flavorful, and authentic. Same with the schwarma! We hope they keep these on the permanent menu, so good! So WONDERFUL! I emailed about making a reservation for 30 people on a Sunday night. Linzy responded almost immediately...after just having a baby THAT DAY! She got me in touch with Curtis and they had everything ready for us. We sat in the alley which was perfect since we had around 8 kids. We went to front to order and the food came out quickly. As we waited, the kids played foosball and other games that were on the bookshelf. They had paper and crayons and games for all ages. The kids enjoyed food from the kids menu and the smash burger was delicious. We also got the special which was a meat lovers pizza. Totally recommend!! I visited Bright Spark after a day kayaking/hiking the Channel Islands (9 min drive from the harbor!). The interiors are gorgeous, the owners were totally awesome and gave me small tasters when I was being indecisive about my beer (lol).
