This place is quite a gem and life saver. I accidentally stepped on my husband's Burberry semi rimless glasses and I heard a snap! Not the glass itself, thank goodness, just the string that attaches the lenses but it was a snapped string nonetheless. Raymond is life changing and let me explain why... Two weeks ago I took a trip to LA when my favorite and sadly only pair of glasses broke (one of the hinges died on me). I went to 6 best rated eye glass stores and 2 jewelry stores in Santa Monica (one of my stops during the trip) and nobody could fix it and there wasn't any constructive temporary solution for me, either. However, one of the eye glass store owners referred me to a jewelry fix guy in the Westfield mall in Culver City who would "definitely" fix my hinge. It took me about 40 minutes to get to the mall from Santa Monica (thanks to LA traffic) and another 2 hours' wait until the guy fixed it and guaranteed me in writing that the hinge would not break at least within a year. I left the mall feeling relieved and got back to enjoy my remaining time in Santa Monica, until I took the glasses out of the case on the same night only to find that the same hinge broke...again. I concluded it was time to say goodbye to my favorite (and very old) frame. I ended up purchasing a new frame from one of the local stores the next day thinking I would have to endure all the inconveniences during the rest of the trip until I got back home to get a new pair of glasses after at least 1-2 weeks' wait. But when I traveled to Pasadena which was my last stop before flying home, I decided to give it one more try and Brighter Optical came up to my Google search. The second I walked into the store, Raymond acknowledged me right away. I explained my situation without expecting much, but Raymond immediately demonstrated his understanding and made expert recommendations. To my surprise, it didn't take him and his partner (or assistant) long before they found a very similar (and more durable) frame to my old one and popped my existing lens in so that I could at least have a workable pair right away. Meanwhile, when I showed Raymond my glass lens prescription, he said it would only take him 2-3 days to make it and he'd UPS the new pair to me afterwards. Although I had never "mail ordered" glasses, I took a chance on Raymond. The whole experience took about 20 minutes and I left the store feeling hopeful again. It was June 8th when I placed the order with Raymond and on June 10th, Raymond texted me letting me know the glasses were ready and asking me to confirm my mailing address. On this past Monday (June 14th), I received a brand new pair of glasses from Raymond which soon became my new favorite and a free gift (steam eye mask). Thank you, Raymond! Raymond provided great advice without high pressure. I got my eye exam results from Linden Optometry, but I wasn't going to buy their over-priced eye glass frames. Linden feels like a factory experience, and their staff don't provide the kind of attention and expertise that I get from Raymond. Brighter Optical has better prices on the frames. But the real value was Raymond's advice on the proper kinds of lenses to purchase. Most of my time is in front of a computer so I paid extra for the Blue Light filtering lenses after he explained the reasons for its benefits. In addition, he gave me a demonstration of the effects of the long-distance lense prescription by using a device in the store to illustrate the improvement in resolution of images. Great experience.
