I absolutely LOVE this Keith Hedges! He's the ONLY vet I take my dog Chewy to! My dog was very sick with pancreatitis. He was in terrible pain and he had a high fever. The emergency vet said it would be a 5-6 hour wait just to get Chewy back to see a vet. I called Dr. Hedges, and at 10 pm that night he met me at his clinic, at treated Chewy with fluids, pain medication, and antibiotics. He had so much compassion, I was and am so grateful. I'm happy to report Chewy is fine now. I'm pretty sure Dr Hedges saved my dog's life that night. All the support staff at Brighton are just as exceptional as Dr Hedges. We had to switch vet clinics because our first one was not patient with grumpy cats. They helped me with options for getting meds into her ahead of time, and they were prepared for whatever she was going to dish out. In the end, the wonderful doctor was able to get a full exam in, with vaccines, with only one spicy hiss from my grumpy cat. From what I can tell, this clinic is more about pets and people than anything else, and you can feel it when you walk in. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. It was the best switch I have made for my pet. I recommend this clinic 100%! read more

There are many reasons why I would recommend this establishment. First of all, their care is excellent. The vet discussed my pet's ongoing care plan with us, outlining options, and made sure that we understood risks and benefits. They also sent reminders to us for routine care so we wouldn't miss anything. Sadly, we needed to put our pet down. Dr. Hedges discussed with us our options and plans, and helped us determine when the decision point would occur. On the day of, the staff handled the whole event with professionalism and empathy. We were advised of the process and the steps that would happen. They arranged payment before the event so we could conclude our business and go home without worrying about paying one last bill. All in all, I did not feel like this was just another day at the office for them - although it probably is a routine procedure. Unfortunately, a care reminder was sent out before the pet was put down, so the day after we received a reminder for routine care. I called them and was treated with sympathy by the staff, who offered a very sincere apology for the mailing and ensured that we wouldn't receive any more reminders. read more

Boarded our dog here for a week. It was affordable. When I picked him up, he was soaked in pee. I figured that was normal. Then i found out they lost the leash he came in with which was a nice sturdy 6' leash that we used for training (he's a rescue). Finally when we got him home after i gave him a bath to get the urine smell off him, i found a fresh wound on his chest. They said they would take a look for free so I brought him back, and the owner himself came in and took a quick peek and brushed it off as nothing. They wouldn't even treat the wound that he got while in their care. I had to shave the area around it and one of the assistants told me i could use antibiotic ointment, so that's what i did. My dog has now been coughing when I've never heard him cough before. I'm taking him to another vet to make sure he's breathing okay and his lung isn't punctured. I would recommend this place to anyone. I looked around for a clinic that had the best care for the lowest cost. This place was it. Their prices were the lowest I could find, and the care was exceptional. Every person I saw cared a lot about my cat and was very helpful in answering all of my questions and making sure my cat was feeling comfortable. I was given free cat food for him just because they cared. I was not pressured into buying expensive tests for my sick cat. It was mentioned as an option, but they supported me in the decision for the option to give my cat some medication to see if that helps first. I was showed how to dispense his meds, and I was talked to for almost too long about what to look for and about any concerns I had. I was beyond impressed when I left. My cat was also very comfortable and happy there too (and he is normally very skiddish in new situations). I will definitely go back, and I am so happy I found them! read more

The staff at Brighton Veterinary Hospital are second to none. My dog recently was very sick and they were able to see him same day and ended up staying hours after closing to run tests. Dr. Hendges is extremely knowledgeable and reassured me that everything would be ok. I spent multiple visits there and every time the staff remembered us and were always concerned how my dog and I were doing. I was referred to them by a friend and even though its a bit of a drive for me to get there from Downtown Minneapolis it is well worth it! I cannot imagine trusting anyone else with my little buddy. read more

After 20 years of service, I can say only good things about this clinic. We've had puppies and kittens, beginning to end. Always friendly and compassionate. We love Brighton Vet Hospital! After a bad experience at another vet, Brighton was recommended to us. We bring both of our dogs here for annual exams and any acute illness/injury. They've been extremely helpful and accommodating for us with our border collie who is reactive to dogs. We have to bring her here to have her nails done. The staff behind the desk is friendly, responsive and helpful. The vets (we've seen all three) are all great with our dogs. We've also used their boarding services and have been pleased. A bonus? For high quality care, we've also noticed they are more reasonably priced that the competition. read more

I called to find out if my local cat was turned in there and the woman referred me to another 'holding facility' because they no longer are a 'holding facility.' How awful is this! This other 'holding facility is 30 miles away and is closed, besides! You just lost your local, personalized touch in the community as far as I'm concerned. My old cat was confused, got out, and lost. And now maybe 30 miles away and you could care less couldn't you? read more

I think Brighton vet is wonderful. I could make an appointment within a timely manner. They fully checked out my dog and answered all my questions and concerns. I absolutely love the late hours, wonderful for working pet owners. I had a situation where I needed to bring my dog in asap and I was offered more then one appointment slot for that same day. When I call, the doctors themselves call me back in a reasonable amount of time to answer all my question. They called the next day to check in on how my dog was doing. The prices are great as well.
