I didn't have to give my cat and calming meds at all and he's so much better. In addition, James was very good about communicating when he would be able to arrive and how he views his job. He's also reasonably priced! In fact, I think James may be a cat whisperer since my cat has been so affectionate and calm since he was groomed! The emergency vet said it would be a 5-6 hour wait just to get Chewy back to see a vet. I called Dr. Hedges, and at 10 pm that night he met me at his clinic, at treated Chewy with fluids, pain medication, and antibiotics. He had so much compassion, I was and am so grateful. I'm happy to report Chewy is fine now. I'm pretty sure Dr Hedges saved my dog's life that night. All the support staff at Brighton are just as exceptional as Dr Hedges. I'll never stop going to them, they absolutely are the best!!

I went to the checkout desk and the gal said she could call someone over. Within seconds a gal from inside the room in the wall stepped out and acknowledged that we needed help. She proceeded to the fish tank we were looking at, got the water container and bag ready, and quickly scooped out two goldfish. My son and I stated that those weren't the ones we wanted to buy. Employee then hastily and with a strong condescending tone stated, "Now, I got you two fish. I'm not going to guarantee I get you the right ones if I go after them. I have other customers waiting!" The employee was not wearing a name tag, and informed me that her name, I believe was Naomi. She was wearing a bull nose ring. I am 54 years old. In my whole lifetime of going to a pet store to pick out and purchase fish, I have never had anyone scoop up fish and tell me they have the right number and had no care in which fish I selected and want to purchase! This employee has no respect for customers and should not be involved in the direct care with any pet lovers or patients in the health care setting. Unfortunately, my young son was given the wrong impression of wonderful Petsmart service that I have known for many years. Please take the correct actions so that this employee is not able to treat other customers the same way. Thank you for listening to my concern.

The store itself was smaller but clean and had lots of product! First thing I noticed was it was a little chaotic, understandable for a nail trim special event, although no staff ever called out where to check in and where to check out or where to get in line for the trims. There was one groomer who was very very sweet, even stepping out of the grooming room to trim nails for a shy dog while their owner held them, they must be a regular because I overheard the owner say "see you next month again". Our little Bruce went in first and I anticipated screaming but he was really screaming. Thank goodness for the windows into the grooming room because I saw him thrashing around and immediately went over asked to step in after hearing the groomer (different one than mentioned prior) raising her voice pretty loud at my dog a few times and saying things like "stop it", "that's enough", etc. I also saw her put some powder on his toenail but she never mentioned during or after the trim if she trimmed to short or what. Once I was holding him, it went much smoother but I didn't her tone of voice with him or the limited info on the powder. My other big, shy dog was hesitant to go in but I was able to encourage him in and he did fine. He actually seemed to be doing pretty good at first, I had asked for the filing on his if he tolerated it. Although when I had stepped in to hold our small dog, Bart (our big dog) FELL OFF THE TABLE, hanging briefly by the neck holder thing! The girl doing Bruce ran over to help lift him up and he was just fine but startled. Both of their nails are pretty good, 8.5/10. I do understand the chaos of this event and a full room or barking, whining dogs. I can imagine it's not the groomers favorite day or event. I understand some level of annoyance but also expect good service at the same time. It was not bad at all, it was alright and we were able to grab a couple bones on the way out which the boys will enjoy. Not 100% sure we will come back for the nail trim as we can do it at home but need to hold them like babies and it's not ideal but we will see. This might be better for those doggies who don't really mind nail trims and you're not confident in doing them yourself.
