One of my parents is a resident now, and they have been in both the Assisted Living and (currently) the Cottage units (the latter being for memory care). First of all, I have to share my praise about the entire staff. I haven't met anyone there yet who didn't say hi or wasn't helpful. Everyone so far has been so wonderful to work with. They are understanding, helpful, engaging, and they seem to really care about their work. It makes a huge difference. The care provided appears to be top notch. I can't be around 24/7 of course, but the resident is doing very well physically, much more so than before arriving here. They even said the food is much better than they expected! The facility was very helpful in answering all of the questions I had, plus... many more that I didn't know I was going to ask! This whole process was all very new to me, and they understood this. They were patient with me and went out of their way to make us feel at home and at ease. So far, it's been a relief and a tremendously positive impact on our entire family.

My husband was a 6 week client and he received outstanding care from the whole staff. The Chesapeake has a caring climate for everyone and the staff shows Kindness and Competence. My father stayed here in 2025 after a fall and collapsed lung. We chose it because it was close to…read morehis home and years prior he had heard good things. TERRIBLE. Staff made it obvious they do not care. Never even faked a smile when I came in. My father would call for a depend change and still no one would come for over an hour. That was after I called to see where someone was. Even then sometimes it took more than one call. They barely got him up for rehab and not one time did he ever go into the bathroom that was at the facility. He didn't trust if he tried and something happened that he would not be stuck in there for hours. We took him out earlier that they recommended(what Medicare would cover)just to get him home. We needed 24/7 help at first because he actually needed help to care for himself (luckily he could afford this), get out of bed, go to the bathroom, all of it! My father passed away this year and it's taken this long to write a review because it's been a roller coaster. Unfortunately, there aren't alot of great places out there for rehab which is despicable and sad. But this place will always remind me where I do not want to go. The PT people at the place were very nice to my father and I just wish he got more time with them for what he needed. Other than the little bit of time with them I doubt he had many friendly faces(I did go there every day). One day there was one nice, respectful girl and I almost cried. I never ran into her again. The whole situation sucks but this place sucks more.

This is a fantastic new building adding to the expansive AAMC hospital complex. There is a big…read moreparking garage attached which seems terrible at first, but if you just keep driving up you will find plenty of parking. There are enclosed walkways to the Sajak Pavilion and the main hospital complex. There are multitudes of doctors and services in this building. I go here for the Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Center on the 4th floor. It is amazing!!!! The lobby is beautiful with a huge hanging light and steps to the second floor mezzanine. On the mezzanine there is a large store wifi gifts and clothing among other things. There is also an cafe with hot food, salads and coffee. This place is almost next to Trader Joes so that is a must visit after your appointment at the Belcher Pavilion! By the way, see the photo I uploaded of the directory of the offices as well.

We just celebrated our tenth BayWoods of Annapolis anniversary. Our only regret is that we did not…read moremove sooner. (We were still in our late sixties when we made the move.) Since then we have enjoyed not being owned by a house and not having to cook meals (which, by the way, are quite good and, at times, outstanding) while living a resort-lifestyle on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay and making many new, close friends (both residents and staff). Many wait until a health-related item requires a move to a place where additional assistance is available. The problem with that is that they miss out on many of the benefits of a resort-lifestyle. While not planned for or anticipated when we moved, when the early stages of Alzheimer's started four years ago, we were so glad that we were living at BayWoods. I am now my wife's primary caregiver and living at BayWoods has eliminated many of the problems we would have had in a single-family home. Even with the advantages that are part of a community such as BayWoods, it is not possible for one person to fully meet the needs of a late-stage Alzheimer's patient and having the services of the BayWoods caregivers available gives me the time to take care of myself. VERY ANGRY about the way this place treated my Mom. Awful food. Indifferent (borderline dangerous)…read moremedical care. She was there for a week of post-surgical care after a knee replacement. She had been there two years before when she had the other knee replaced, and had a great experience. But the management there has changed. Here's the list of awfulness: 1. Food: (Mashed potatoes AND scalloped potatoes in one meal? A "reuben" sandwich made from 1 slice of meat on stale, hard bread? C'mon.) 2. Noise: They put her right next to the laundry room. They did laundry at 4 a.m., and the washing machines banged against the wall, keeping her awake. She requested they do laundry at a different time, and they did that for one day, then went back to doing it at 4 a.m. 3. They refused to stick to the plan of medications her orthopedic surgeon had prescribed. They changed medications and dosages, sometimes without even discussing it with her. When asked about it, they became defensive and said "we know better than the surgeons." 4. Apathy: it would often take hours to get anyone to respond to her simple requests. She was there six days, and asked multiple times for hangers so she could hang her clothes in the closet instead of having to bend over each time she needed an article of clothing from her suitcase. They never gave her the hangers. 5. Worst of all, after 6 days of this misery, she had had enough and wanted to be discharged. They told her she couldn't be discharged because she was anemic and needed a blood transfusion, and then sent her to the emergency room in an ambulance. Once at the ER, the doctors there told her she was NO WHERE NEAR anemic enough to need a blood transfusion, and told her she was fine. The ER docs said she should probably go back to Baywoods to finish out her week stay. They called Baywoods and Baywoods REFUSED to take her back, claiming she had left without being discharged. But THEY were the ones who told her she had to go to the hospital, because she was in grave danger from the anemia!!!! The ER docs said they see this at poorly-run facilities: if a patient questions the care they are being given, the staff tries to dump them on the emergency room just to get rid of them. There are other terrible things that happened to her during her stay there, but for the sake of my mother's dignity and privacy I am not going to describe them. DO NOT put your loved ones in the power of these awful people.

They take the time to get to know each resident. They know their likes, dislikes, preferences, and routines, and it shows in the quality of care they provide. I am close by and always feel comfortable popping in to take my mom to lunch, or to stay and visit with her and the other residents and staff. This is a smaller assisted living, so it feels more like a family than some of the larger facilities. The environment is clean, calm, and welcoming, and has a homey feel. My mom is always dressed nicely, with her hair brushed and nails done. Her bedroom and bathroom are always clean. This facility is tucked back in the woods at the center of a small waterfront community in Pasadena. They have a walking path that goes around the building that backs up to a wooded lot. The deer frequently come up and can be seen from a screened-in porch. We are so grateful to have found a place where my mom is genuinely cared for, respected, and truly at home.

So when i asked her what was going on she told me "i just sat down 15 min ago but i helped your grandmother take a shower today" I took her for her word but asked my grandmother upstairs after the aide left if she had a shower today and my grandmother told me she never took any kind of shower when the aide was home with her. After hearing that I was LIVID, not only did the aide LIE to me about giving a shower to my grandmother ( checked the shower and it was bone dry), but she also was lying about the 15 min part as well because the TV screen was very hot which means it had been on for a long time and confirmed my suspicions that the aide NEGLECTED my grandmother. NEVER consult with this place and never judge a SLOGAN by its cover !!!
