Dr Chen, Julia and Scarlett has helped and saved me from a whole lot of pain and suffering. They never fail to amaze me with their expertise in the dental field. I found this gem close to my home and was initially drawn by how genuine the yelp reviews sound. When I spoke to Julia to make an appointment, she immediately started dropping knowledge to me about teeth. I had to get a root canal done due to a really bad infection that was caused by a bad crown my previous dentist had placed in. After a couple of visits, the infections disappeared and I can finally eat normally again. Unlike the previous dentists I've had, Dr Chen and his team has shown great care of each of their patient's teeth. I've seen smiles whenever I walk into their office and see the smile from the person before me. I must say that I am very impressed with this dental office. Whether if it's for kids, adults, or seniors, this place is the perfect place for everyone. This place is also SPOTLESS and the staff members are very professional. I called to schedule an appointment to ask about the price and procedures that are available. They were very straight up and clear about the possible options and pricing. The staff was also very patient and explained everything step by step. A couple days later, the office followed up with a text confirmation, which is awesome. Makes everything easy and clear. The day of the appointment, the assistant greeted us and got us to the dentist right away without long waits. My boyfriend was able to walk out of the office with his filling fixed in just 30 minutes. He felt great afterwards and was able to eat right away. Bonus: their dental chairs are super comfortable and the place is literally squeaky clean. While waiting, a team member handed me the remote to their TV and was free to watch all the Netflix shows (YES!!). They also spoiled us with snacks and water since I mentioned that I was thirsty. I show up kinda frizzled because I forgot my insurance card (blue shield) but Julia reinsured next I can text it to her when I get home but told me even the insurance I had may not be covered so that wasn't the biggest deal but still annoying why did I have insurance than??So I was seated and I was very impressed the chair was a heating massage chair, the view was peaceful, and the dentist came in. It seem to be the best place he didn't talk to much and I met with his dental assistant who didn't talk too much either (mostly awkward silience between us lol) But the doctor talk to me a tad bit and put sum relaxing music on, Julia came in and was a cheery butterfly which was uplifting breaking up the awkwardness haha. So onto the cleaning I had to wear a hair net haha ok sure wore some stunner shades sunglasses, and onto the cleaning! Oh my the drilling of cleaning was the most uncomfortable scariest situation! I closed my eyes and told myself just a few minutes it will be over I couldn't even start about this very scary situation.... my poor teeth are so sensitive the front and it hurt from sensitivity. The dentist told me just tap his arm if I needed a break but I was so stunned I couldn't but just lift my hands up if I felt the sensitivity!!! He would give me a 5 sec break when I put up my hands and say give her a break I though omg thank you and he would go back drilling away around the crevasses of my teeth. Then the Fluoride paste you know that crap that taste thick bubble gum or maybe it's mint or some kind of flavored that the dentist have a tiny cap and a brush to dip it in and polish your teeth that's what I thought was going to happen not at all what happened!!! The flouride paste was smeared all over my teeth with a gloved finger and nothing pleasant almost like if the dentist didn't care too much like smearing it on heavy with out a care at all it was gross.I felt kinda grossed seriously.Brushing wasn't too bad at least I was away from the drill and picture xrays where ok a bit gross tasting like soap. He didn't even floss my teeth to scared to say anything lol I then couldn't wait to go and the receptionist Julia gave me a gift bag. When I went home it had a bunch of junk food nothing good for your teeth but a Korean odd tooth brush I thought do they want to give me cavities haha but I accepted it and politely went home. It was two terrible and I understood why my husband was scared of dentist. I never had this kind of experience where the dentist was scary enough to be a horror movie. Haha Update to Julia, I didn't say how bad my past experiences at my dentist where. I put on a smile for you guys to not hurt your feelings and yeah my husbands teeth is no joke and need cleaning but one hear of that drill thing or scraping your gums or pushing hard on your face he would run. I have been coming here for a while; amazing experince. Before I came here, my previous dentist asked me to do a root canal and will not provide x-rays showing me the decay. He kept forcing me to pay $500 just for a consultation, literally blocked me from the entrance. That was defininly a dental hell-hole. I left and went on a month long search for a new dentist; carrying the pain from my teeth. I noticed my son has been driving 50 miles just to see a dentist multiple times without any complaints. I asked him why make that long trip and he simply told me, 'let me make an appointment and you'll see why.' I was stunned, my son has been going here mainly due to the service and specialty by Dr. Chen and his assistant Julia. Dr. Chen made last minute changes and decided to examine me while they were closing up. I told Mr. Chen that my previous dentist asked me to do a root canal and I just caved in with that idea. Dr. Chen was shocked and told me that I didn't need a root canal and that I have a huge cavity. He told me that root canals are to be used in a last resort-worst case senario. He agreed to work on my case and we scheduled a appointment as soon as possible. During my visit (especially since is my first), Dr. Chen not only filled in the cavity but he also fixed my teeth and polished them. Making my teeth look fresh again with no evidence of any composite fillings; even they are! He worked tirely for 3 hours not just filling my cavities but making my teeth look like... teeths! My entire family now comes here to do their cleanings and teeth problems. Glad I didn't get a root canal! He saved my teeth. Also a bonus, Julia gave me a facial treatment; an amazing lady. So, I can't even begin to say how grateful I am that I found Dr. Chen and his Superstar sidekick Julia. As luck would have it, I ended up with severe tooth pain the week of Christmas. Went to my regular dentist, and he said " shame on you, you're not using your night guard...go use it and all will be fine!" 2 days go by, along with many anti-biotics and pain killers, things were worse than ever and I started looking like a chipmunk. 4 midnight calls to local endodontists later, requesting an emergency visit, and Dr. Chen graciously came to my rescue...without even knowing me! Saw me that morning (on a holiday!) and performed an emergency root canal. I literally was out of pain and feeling like myself within a couple of hours. And so kind and gracious, understanding, great bedside manner, and all that without having had any previous visits. I had such a positive experience here - that's not something you normally say about the dentist. These guys have a ton of 5 star reviews for a reason. A root canal is not a fun time, but Dr. Chen and his assistant Julia make it as good as possible. You are the only patient there, they give you bags of water and snacks and the best Korean toothbrushes, and the chair has an optional massage function that I found incredibly helpful and relaxing. Julia is not kidding when she says you can text her any time and she will help. What a lovely experience! No one likes going to the dentist, especially not my fiancé, and especially not on an emergency visit with a broken tooth when we're leaving for vacation tomorrow! An exam, assessment and course of treatment were quickly and painlessly established - some temporary fix work for right now, so we can enjoy our vacation pain-free, a couple of prescriptions and another visit planned for when we get home in a couple of weeks to actually fix the problem. Julia and Dr. Chen are amazing. Just from my first consultation, they were able to find that my existing crown has a gap that's causing sensitivity and that I don't need a root canal (which was what my existing dentist suggested and she even referred a specialist for me who suggested the same thing). Dr. Chen said my case is very tough to diagnose but that he found the issue and I just need my crown replaced and a deep cleaning done to help the inflammation (caused by my crown). They are both very professional while also very friendly and really helped me to understand what the issue was - Dr. Chen used a special light (made for surgeons) to help me figure it out and showed me the issue. They were really great at even helping me with my X-rays (that's always hard to bite down to get it done properly but Dr. Chen helped me position it properly and minimized the pain of doing that), and even tiny details like making sure to help me with excess saliva (I know, not a fun image of slobbering all over the place with my mouth open) and wiping my mouth. They really care about taking care of their patients. I'm actually looking forward to my next dental visit with them! read more

I'm so impressed with this office, they offer such a great experience from start to finish. I recently had an old crown fall out and with no hassle at all they made special arrangements for me and my work hours. Dr Chen and Julia are a team to be reckoned with. I have never been treated with such respect, care and concern. They are professional, personable and use cutting edge equipment (message dental chairs) and are up on all the advances in Dental Care. An example to their attention to details. My jaw started to cramp during my dental procedure. Dr Chen recognized my disconfort and immediately stopped to give me a break while Julia got a sponge soaked in warm water and message my face with it. They both make sure you know what to expect, they formulate a plan and discuss it with you and make sure you understand and are comfortable with it. They dont rush through any procedure and give you total attention from when you arrive to when you leave. They make themselves available to you anytime and actually mean it. Julia called to check on me the next day after an uncomfortable procedure. This made me feel that I was not just important to them when I was there but they had concern for how I was feeling after and until I returned. You also get a goodie bag custom fit to your likes which is a token of their appreciation for your patronage. When my dentist retired I was unsure if I would find a dental office that would be a good fit for me. I am so pleased that I was referred by a friend to Dr Chen and Julia. I contacted Brilliant Dental Group the Saturday after Thanksgiving after suffering for one week with a very bad toothache. I knew it would be difficult to find a Endodontist but I was lucky they were open and Julia scheduled an appointment for me the same day! I was amazed at the level of skill Dr Chen had in performing a root canal, throughout the process he made sure to explain everything as he was working. The heated massage chair was relaxing and Julia used a laser light on my face during the treatment. Afterwards I was given a goodie bag filled with snacks, a new toothbrush and several beverages. I felt great afterwards and even made it to dinner with family the same night! I will continue to come to this office for dental treatments! Thank you Dr Chen and Julia!!! read more

I searched yelp for nearby dental this is almost the only one five star dental in Danville san Ramon area ,so I tried it 3 months ago , the first time impressed me , the doctor are very friendly he is about 45 years and he is a specialist (he told me there is no more than 1700 specialist total in USA) , this dental is very easy and convenient to make the appointment not need waiting days , that is my favorite. I do my first time root canal here in my life , I feel a little nerves , the doctor give me much confidence and he finished it. Now waiting for crown when next visit. I told my wife. I've had my fair share of dentist and this place is the most AMAZING dentist I have been too. They make you feel like you are family and treat you with the most respect you forget you were ever in pain. I went in for an emergency root canal, all the way from Vallejo! Drive was well worth it. Words do not do them justice. I have found my new and only place to have my teeth checked out. Clean office, informative, beautiful area and beautiful staff. I cannot thank them enough! Here are just a few of the many reasons I love Brilliant Dental and why I wholeheartedly recommend them: · Dr. Chen and Julia always take great care to understand my dental needs; they really listen to me and help me to identify any issues I'm having · Dr. Chen and Julia explain every aspect of any treatment they recommend - they are meticulous, transparent, wholistic in their care for me and they never rush me · Their whole focus is on prevention and on saving your teeth. In my case, I had a couple of newer cavities but also some older filings. Dr. Chen was careful to investigate these older filings and found that they were rotting underneath. Even before I started having a problem (and I saw the decay - I definitely would've had to have a root canal) he proactively identified the problem and was able to clear out the decay and save/fix my teeth · Julia is the most responsive person ever · Their three-step dental cleaning is unlike anything I had ever experienced. My teeth feel cleaner and my gums never bled after their cleaning, and my gums ALWAYS bled after cleanings by other hygienists. Honestly, I don't have the words to explain - you have to try their cleaning method · The office is always immaculate and is beautiful and comfortable. Maybe some people think that's unimportant but not me - environment is so important and it reflects how Brilliant Dental values their customers and their own work; I just feel so comfortable here. I have to say this place has everything you will ever need to look great and feel your best! They take such great care of me like no other office! I was always afraid of going to the dentist but not with Dr.Chen and The beautiful Julia! Not only they watch out if I have any cavities but they prevent it from ever happening! They teach me how to take better care of myself. This is the only office that gives me under eye treatment & facial while getting my teeth clean! I also can text my appointments or questions at anytime! Amazing !!They truly care about me and my whole health! Very easy to talk with and I am now not afraid to get my teeth done!
