I had the remote modules go bad on two of my ceiling fans and decided to give Brilliant Electric a call. Alfredo came out and confirmed that it was indeed the remote control modules that went bad as both fans had power going to them. He gave me two options: reinstall new modules but knowing that they too may go bad in the future or hard wire them to use manual pulls. I decided on the latter as I didn't want to deal with the modules going bad again. Alfredo did a great job to get them going again and charged me a very fair price. The electrician who came out was either an incompetent boob or a sadist. First of all, he didn't listen to my suggestion that I simply needed a new breaker. Therefore, he wound up taking hours to "diagnose" the problem only to find that I needed a new breaker. Second, the guy rearranged my wiring (I believe this is where his time went)!! I had my electrical circuits neatly mapped out so I knew exactly which breaker controlled the various sections of my house. I discovered over time that nearly 80% of my breakers now controlled different areas of my house. This electrician was the ONLY guy who could have done that! Unfortunately, I don't know the guy's name - maybe he intentionally withheld it, but then again, I didn't think to ask for it since I knew I'd never use this company nor recommend it to anyone! At the beginning of December, I contacted Brilliant Electric to request the installation of two sets of outdoor outlets, to permit access to power for Christmas decorations without having to run extension cords under the garage door. It would also be more convenient when using electric gardening tools, in the front lawn. I was pleasantly surprised that Alfredo fit me into his busy schedule for the following week. Alfredo began by asking where the outlets were to be located. After I showed him where they went, he asked additional questions, to make sure that I was aware of all my options. I wound up with a layout that included two duplex outlets and an indoor switch that would control the power to one outlet from each of the duplex outlets. Per my request, one of the weatherproof electrical outlet boxes was mounted on an outside wall, and the other was fixed to the inside of a fascia board. The outlets look great and work beautifully. The work area was left clean, inside and out. Alfredo was friendly and knowledgeable. The cost of installation was very reasonable (I had appraisals from three businesses). Alfredo and his guys were AWESOME! I needed a few things done in my house in regards to some electrical work. I actually tried to get in touch with a past company I had used before but they were delayed in responding so I thought I would give Brilliant Electric a try. I am glad I did! I called Alfredo and set up an estimate for the following day. He came by, right on time, surveyed my job and gave me a quote to do the work. I needed 2 ceiling fans replaced and a few outlets fixed up. We set up an appointment for a few days later. It turned out that they actually could get it done sooner than expected so that was a score in my book. Alfredo sent out Cesar and Jose. I thought I recognized Cesar when he came up to the door but I didn't say anything. A little bit later, he mentioned to me that my house looked familiar. Turns out that he actually installed a vent fan and did some other electrical work for me in the past with a different company. Small world. Anyways...... Wow! Stellar customer service! Situation: It's a Saturday and I'm having trouble with my dishwasher not turning on. I called Brilliant and they said they only have emergency service at $300. BUT! This was definitely a small job compared to some of the jobs described in the other reviews, but I definitely didn't feel like they treated me any differently. Alfredo was great in setting up the appointment, detailing all the work that would be required and providing a cost breakdown for each portion. On the day of the install, Jose and Alex showed up promptly, went over some last minute details (switch and fixture placement, etc.) and then got to work. Where to start? Well first and foremost Alfredo and Jose did a stellar job of removing my existing panel, mast and sub-panel and installing a new 200 Amp service. My project started when a large delivery truck from a national "home improvement" store hit my wires and pulled them down as well as bending the service mast. I called Brilliant Electric after checking the reviews and their State License. Alfredo was quick to assess the situation and provided a written cost competitive quote. We would remove the 100 Amp panel, sub-panel and service mast and install a new standard 200 Amp panel and service mast. This required a lot of coordination with SDG&E and we were low priority to SDG&E as there were many Solar Companies vying for time slots. Patience and persistence paid off and we managed a slot about 4 weeks after the damage had occurred vice the quoted 6 or 7 week wait. Alfredo handled all of the coordination and paperwork and arrived early on the first scheduled day. Because power was to be shut off, they made sure to provide temporary service to the refrigerator. Nice! The skills, knowledge and workmanship that Alfredo and Jose provided made the long wait well worth it. It is abundantly clear that they take pride in their work and do not do a rush job. They took time to carefully assess at each stage of dismantlement and new installation, and even patched the holes in the stucco better than any carpenter could do. Several neighbors watched this evolution over the next few days and were so impressed with the work they came over to ask Alfredo and Jose for business cards. As with any high quality and in demand business, time seems to be the only thing they are short on. So Alfredo worked from 7:00am to 9:00pm on the first day, and was here until 8:00pm on the second day. All to ensure everything was installed perfectly and the new panel circuits were fully documented to each and every switch and outlet in the house.That level of dedication and pride is hard to find these days, I will be calling Brilliant Electric for all of my future electrical needs. First off my disclaimer - I despise yelp. Seriously, I go by word of mouth since Yelp went to s#i! years ago. I am writing this review because I truly feel that this company deserves recognition no matter what medium you use. If you are like me, I cannot stand bigger companies that dominate the field and overcharge. Brilliant Electric is one of those smaller businesses that really goes the extra mile to ensure you are happy and properly taken care of. Alfredo has progressed through the ranks as an electrician and can do the "real electrical work" that a lot of others cannot or will change you ridiculous rates. Alfredo is fairly priced and excellent service. My story: had flickering lights and I was able to troubleshoot it down to being one circuit. I determined it was not a circuit breaker and could not find any loose connections. I finally had to break down and get an electrician out since the flickering was getting worse. Called Alfredo and he was pretty busy, but he asked about the problem and asked if he could swing by late afternoon/early evening - of course I asked if it cost more and he said "my rates are the same since you are accommodating me due to my schedule" - really? That is service! Him and another guy showed up and worked 3 hours on this problem and I can tell you it was not an easy find. It was a very simple fix but had to be troubleshot properly to ensure it was the problem. He even fixed another connection close by so that does not become a problem later. He stayed longer and did more than he needed to but he still charged me the quoted rate because he is a professional and cares!! My Mom called and said she needed a light switch replaced. Sure that I could do it i stopped at Home Depot, grabbed a switch and headed over. Well the switch was in a box with Two other switches and a ceiling fan connection. At exactly 9am (not 9:01) Jose was at the door. (when was the last time you had any service company arrive on time?)
