We had just purchased a home and were having electrical problems. What started as weekly turned into daily electrical breaker trips, even when no one was home or any appliances were on. We had contacted the previous owner/tenant and they had never had a breaker trip. I found Javier because he wrote "ELECTRICIAN (858) 880-6080" in permanent sharpie on our electrical panel. It turns out Javier was hired by the sellers realtor to replace breakers to put the house up to code before the house could be listed. So naturally, we called and he showed up and offered to help but shortly later didn't respond to calls or texts. At this point we are just trying to diagnose the problem and get an understanding of what was done prior to listing the house. We had several electricians come through our homeowners insurance and ended up getting the panel fixed. Javier was polite but simply not helpful. Fast forward a year we are installing turf...we have an EV but are currently charging on 110V. Seems like a perfect time to run wire from the panel to the garage and install a 220 outlet and sub panel. Where to start? I open the main panel and Javiers number pops up, so we give him a call and he promptly shows up. I explain what we are trying to do and he gives us a quote. $800 for the labor + whatever the parts are. He says he can be there the following Tuesday at 10AM. So we coordinated with the landscapers to arrive at that time. Tuesday comes and he doesn't show, call, text or respond at all. We can't hold up the landscape crew so we trench and lay the pipes. Eventually several days later Javier responds and says he can come the following week and the pipe being laid is not a problem as he can feed the wire through the pipe. Again, no show, call or text until 2 weeks pass and a late evening text he says he can complete the work the following morning but not for $800+ parts he originally quoted, but this time $2,000 + parts. In 3 weeks the price more than doubled. I had asked why the price changed so much and he said after further review this was the new price. OK, so at this point I don't care anymore, I just want the work done and I agree to his new price and he doesn't show up. By now, it's been several weeks without any responds to calls or texts. I gave up on him, but I then see him a few houses away in person doing work, say hello and kindly ask him if he is still able to complete the project and if not, it's okay but to just let me know. He says yes, and agrees to come by the following week. I follow up with several more calls and texts, not a response. In summary, I liked Javier, he was always polite face to face but did no work for us and ended up being a total waste of time. The only work he did was done prior to us purchasing the house. The combination of numerous calls and texts without responding, several no shows and the continuing to be led on for months prompted this review. Buddy, I respect the "hustle" by trying to get your name out there but if you deface someone's property for your benefit, you better help when they call you, especially with issues that your work likely created. read more
