Yay they're open again! But more so, I should have updated this long ago. Service improved by leaps and bounds since my initial review. It's a great neighborhood spot and you can't go wrong with Prosecco on tap!

Awesome vegetarian food. The music fills the entire place with fun energy. The bartenders were extremely nice and made sure we are in a safe space.

On a scale of romance novels to documentaries, Brillobox is a legend. I've never been to the Brillobox in the "before times," but I loved experiencing it for the first time a week or so ago. It's clear that this is a beloved establishment because it was absolutely packed out. The bartenders were whirling dervishes of drink creators, and the kitchen staff rolled out the food rapidly. What I adored most was the whimsical decor of the space with a giant shark suspended on one wall while cherry blossoms sprouted above the bar top. If you love to dine or drink in the midst of gorgeousness, Brillobox should be your haunt. Parking can be a headache, but the side roads offer random, available spaces. Just come prepared to loop around the side streets a bit.

Super hipster vibe, pretty good vegetarian food! We stopped in on a Sunday evening, and I was surprised at how busy it is. We were lucky to snag two seats at the bar. The space is very limited so I would find it hard to picture a band, or live music here. The beer was a little overpriced, but I felt as though the menu selection was priced very fairly. We ended up getting the bahn mi (tofu) and it was surprisingly good. The french fries that came with it were also cooked perfectly - I would really look to come back here if I were in the neighborhood. Great for vegetarians!

So many vegan options. The drinks are good but come for a mound of fries and really nice booth seats.

I've heard of a Pittsburgh salad and found a cool looking place to finally try it! I was not disappointed!

I visited this place this weekend for the first time. The vibe is excellent, classical American-style dive bar. I loved the overhanging cherry tree and all the little Andy Warhol details in the decor. The fact it is open till 2 am is a plus, especially in Pittsburgh. I'd give the bar a higher score, but the cocktails were so and so---my daiquiri was passable, and the frozen lime margarita was more fun than tasty. There are shows in the upstairs area, but I did not attend the one that was playing when I went there. I'll have to come back to check it out again. Overall, definitely try it out when out late and see how you like the atmosphere!

My friends and I ate at Noodlehead in Shadyside and started walking westbound down Penn towards Lawrenceville. One friend was sore from running a half marathon earlier that day and would not stop complaining. We saw several people enjoying themselves in this bar and decided to stop in for a couple drinks. I liked the tree behind the bar and the red, circular vinyl booths. There were some intriguing women inside which only added to my appreciation of the place. The bartender was a really friendly guy and the beer selection was good. Those booths captured my attention more than the beautiful women sitting in them. Tom Waits lyrics have been stuck in my head since. "Warm Beer And Cold Women" One of those nights. It's warm beer, cold women, no I just don't fit in. 'Cause every joint I stumbled into tonight is just how it's been. All these double knit strangers with gin and vermouth. And recycled stories in the Naugahyde booths. And the platinum blonds, tobacco brunettes. I'll be drinkin' to forget you, I'll light another cigarette. And the band's playin' something by Tammy Wynette And the drinks are on me tonight. All my conversations now I'll just be talkin' about you babe. Borin' some sailor as I try to get through. I just want him to listen now, I said that's all you have to do. He said, "I'm better off without you" until I showed him my tattoo. And now the moon's rising ain't no time to lose. Time to get down to drinking tell the band to play the blues. And the drinks are on me, I'll back up a round. At the last ditch attempt saloon. Warm beer, cold women, no I just don't fit in. Every joint I stumbled into tonight that's just how it's been. All these double knit strangers with gin and Vermouth. Receeding hairlines in the Naugahyde booths. With the platinum blonds, tobacco brunettes. I'll just be drinking to forget you baby, I'll light a menthol cigarette. And the band's playing somethin' by Johnnie Barnett And the last ditch attempt saloon.

So, actually a guy at the information booth was eating something from here and I asked him where he got it from because it looked very good and he recommended them to me. So we headed their way. Tbh: Every place that we wanted to eat at had a line 25-50 deep and we were super hungry and their line was only like 5-7 people deep which was a blessing. First off, the service in general was kind of crappy, but I understand as it was a hot and very busy day and from what they told my gf at the time they were getting low on food as well and only had a couple items that were left from the menu. After deciding what we wanted which was one of three things my gf at the time ordered us the Mac and Cheese and a container of ranch to take home while I looked for a place for us to eat. So after they handed her our food we headed over to an area with tables and chairs to eat the Mac and Cheese. I must say we both thoroughly enjoyed every single bit of it and my gf at the time isn't even vegan. So that says a lot! I highly recommended it :) FYI: The person who took her order also forgot to give her the container of ranch she paid for. I wasn't made aware that she purchased it until afterwards because my gf at the time wanted to surprise me but they didn't give her a receipt so she had no proof. Oh well, you live and learn, sadly! The vibe on this day was on point so we let the little things go in regards to the crappy service and the shorting us of an overpriced container of ranch fall to the wayside and continued on with our wonderful day, smiling and enjoying the amazing festival and area. If I decide to stop by your food trailer again this year at the festival or whenever I am somewhere you are posted up in front of, I hope you make up for your mistakes from last year because that's the right thing to do.

Fantastic vibe in there as well, cool lighting (although something from up above kept falling). It's a highly acclaimed place for a reason. I got to try their beet soup (borscht), tea, potato pancake, and rice pudding dessert. The menu changes decently consistently I believe, and I did visit a little while ago, for notice. The food was very tasty. Huge potato pancake that was cooked perfectly with a nice topping of what I can only describe as vegan sour cream and some sort of very flavorful vegetables. I quite liked it, surprisingly tasty and creamy topping. Now the borscht, which I tend to be picky with, was just okay. The number one detractor for the borscht was the salt level. The food is just far, far too salty (the pancake was pretty salty too). Other than that, quite good. Love the side of rye. The dessert was very good. Surprisingly light. Came with a little caramelized baked fruit on top (apple/pear, something like that). Rice was reasonably creamy and very flavorful. So good! All in all, a nice spot for a nice dinner. Especially great for vegans. However, the food did taste too salty for my liking.

My date ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower, and it was definitely hot, but good. For dinner, I ordered the Black Bean Bowl, which was a rice bowl packed with black beans, grilled veggies, and corn with a cream sauce, but that is not quite what I got. It was rice and beans, mixed, corn with no cream sauce, broccoli, and two plantains. The rice was not too savory, the broccoli was a bit bland and there was no cream sauce on the corn....sad face. The salad buffet was great, offering a bunch of options, all of which were pretty tasty. I didn't try the dessert section, but it was also pretty large. But let's talk about the food, because it's some of the best vegetarian and vegan comfort food you will ever eat, hands down. I always crave their Seitan Reuben (and I'm not even vegan), which is so perfectly savory and messy, and if you go for their famous Sunday brunch, you have to load up on the sesame peanut noodle salad and grab a slice of whatever vegan cake they have out that day. It's affordable, incredibly quirky, and I'll keep coming back forever.
