I absolutely love Brine. The chicken is exquisite and the sides (especially the carrots) are so delicious. The past couple of Saturdays I've gone to Brine, Miranda and Alexa have been working and they always bring a smile to my face as well as introduce me to delicious new sides and creations. My only complaint is I heard you might be getting rid of a couple sides (specifically referring to the carrots) and that would make me quite sad. MUST VISIT!! A friend made such a fuss about this place and decided to go today. It is worth the visit! I had the half chicken, coconut rice with peas and the beet salad with goat cheese. The chicken was tender, moist and tasteful as the rest of the meal. Brine is very generous with the portions and you leave feeling satisfied but most importantly you know you had a HEALTHY DELICIOUS MEAL!!!! I will return to enjoy the rest of the menu. Update: I was contacted by the owner of Brine and invited to try their food again. This time I ordered the pulled chicken (I asked for no bun). I must say, this time was much better than my first. I believe the pulled chicken is a tastier and more substantial choice than the chicken half. I enjoyed the meal-- the side I ordered, the farro, was pretty good. This can be an awesome place. The chicken was delicious, the fries were great, and the charred broccoli with aioli was terrific. And it's clean and bright. I have two minor complaints: What attracted me to the chicken in the photo on the website and the kiosk was its crisp, fire-grilled skin. Also, the chicken is shown with no sauce. When my order came out, the chicken was coated with sauce (good flavor) and the skin was pale and soft, no char, no crispness. Consisently very good fast casual option. Good amount of variety even though they only serve chicken and the flavor is always there - I've been back around 6 times. First off, I found the chicken to be tasty...a little too salty but that's one of the results of brining meat. The issue I have is that the price is steep when you take into account that the chicken comes only with a toasted half slice of bread. Again...everything was tasty. I ended up getting 2 sides with each order of a half chicken. Sides ordered were coconut rice with peas, beets with goat cheese, charred broccoli, and tomatoes w/ hearts of palm. The only side that was mediocre was the rice (bland with no trace of coconut). Each side was $4 additional and the portions were on the skimpy side. End result, total bill was 46 bucks for 2 half chickens with 2 sides each. I don't expect operations like this, who put more TLC into their ingredients than the competition to be competitively priced, but I still find it pricey for what you get. Worth a try regardless. read more

Sadly he had trouble processing the refund, was on the phone for 8 minutes before finally giving me the refund at 10:06. For the inconvenience he bagged a side for me, don't know what side it was.... The neighborhood really needed this! Everyone was super nice and helpful and the food was great! My two wishes would be to add a chicken breast as an option. Right now you can order a thigh or 1/2 a chicken so if you like white meat only you are stuck paying for the 1/2 chicken. Also I found the sauce a tad on the hot (spicy) side so would be great just to get a piece of plain chicken and add the sauces. All in all not deal killers but food for thought:) read more

I ordered from Brine a few weeks back and hours later was violently ill with food poisoning. I tried to reach out to the restaurant and their phone line is disconnected. I finally had the food delivery service get me in touch with the restaurant who seemed apologetic at first and sent a questionnaire to be filled out about the incident and then nothing. I understand that things like food poisoning unfortunately happen, but I was extremely disappointed with how this was handled. read more

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I happened upon a new casual restaurant in Chelsea called Brine. I was immediately taken with the cleanliness of the restaurant as well as the friendliness and helpfulness of the entire staff! Then we looked at the menu and were wowed by the selection of sides available. All of them looked so intriguing that we found it hard to narrow down our selection. We were so impressed with our first meal that we have gone back several times and at this point have sampled everything on the menu. We can say unequivocably that every dish is delicious! My personal favorite is the Gigi salad and The Sandwich but I can never limit myself to only those two choices. What we really like about Brine is that you can eat there, or bring it home, or take it on a picnic. Our personal favorite is to enjoy it as we watch the sunset on the river. The price point is excellent. This is a fabulous addition in Chelsea and would love to see them open up more places throughout the city! read more

I ate here once when it first opened and was Being overseen by the owner. It was great that time and I was excited to try it again today. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. I had a chicken sandwich. The bread was supposed to come out warm. Instead it was soggy, cold and covered in butter, it had a spongy consistency and tasted stale. When I took a bite into the sandwich I bit right into a long chicken bone. The pulled chicken inside the sandwich was full of bones and cartilage. It's a good thing it was large enough that I didn't swallow it accidentally which would have been extremely dangerous. I had to throw out the whole sandwich . I brought it to the attention of the staff and they didn't seem to care. Overall I think that the place has gone downhill. It's run by people that don't seem to care about the customer or about the quality of the food that they put out. Maybe I had an isolated bad experience but unfortunately I cannot recommend this place and will not be coming back. I left hungry and disappointed.
