The sides are really good too. Portion size is good and the quality is consistent. If I had any critique, it would be that one time I had a thigh that was a tad too salty. Brine chicken is some of the best chicken in NYC! We are lucky to live super close to this place and come here quite often. The store looks clean and tidy. They use a kiosk so I think it would be a decent spot if you ever wanted a grab and go lunch during weekdays. However, I cannot recommend this place. Just because a restaurant uses kiosk to order doesn't mean that it doesn't need to provide service to its customers. Unfortunately, I not only have witnessed the lack of service but also the lack of basic decency and respect from the staff of this establishment. I had asked the staff if I could use the restroom, they replied that I have to purchase something, which I did on the kiosk. When I asked the staff if she could share the password with me. She took a look at the receipt and rolled her eyes, turned to the kitchen and showed the receipt to the other male staff in the kitchen, pointing at me, "she wanted to use the restroom". The male staff refused to share the password and mocked me for "not a real customer". I then proceed to ask them what do they consider as a "real" customer. He told me that to be considered as a customer, I have to purchase the full meal, and then proceed to mock me with the female employee, shrugging their shoulders with smirks on their faces. Never would I ever imagine that I'd be belittled and humiliated at a restaurant. A simple rejection would suffice, and I understand completely if the restaurant want to keep the restrooms for "full meal" customers only. However, there was no need for the belittlement. The amount of contempt and ridicule was uncalled for, as I was trying my hardest to be nice and keep a smile on my face. Again, this negative review only pertains to the two employee who were clearly being jerks, but the restaurant should at least train their staff to be polite and considerate. read more

Possibly the best chicken I've actually had in NYC. Friggin delicious. The caesar salad is also super nomz. And all 5 sauces are banging. Easy to order and quick service. The owner is super attentive and walks around making sure everyone's OK and enjoying their food. Only downside is it's a teeny bit pricey(stupid chelsea landlords spiking prices), so might have to be my every so often lunch instead of my all the time lunch, but for sure, it's so good I may change my mind on that. It should not be a surprise that the chicken at "Brine" is salty. But, wow! It's really really salty. I've been twice, and I only came back because I thought it couldn't be as salty as I remember. But, it really is just about the saltiest food I've ever tasted. That includes all your fast food restaurants, and carnival food. It wouldn't be too bad if there was some balance. The sides were good too ( the fries were just meh though) They really need to add a chicken breast option to their menu. It's either 1/2 chicken or dark meat right now. Considering this space used to be a pretty big sized sit down restaurant i am assuming they want to be more of a take out delivery place as the Seating area Is pretty small and the booths - all two of them are pretty tiny. Great spot, good choices for people trying to eat healthy and have to eat out. The chicken is the key here, its the dish to get, had it with beets and with tomatoes and hearts of palm. Also had fries. All excellent. Really liked the Honey Mustard sauce most of all the side sauces, and I normally not a fan of honey mustard. The sandwich is actually a heavier dish than the chicken plate, its on thick brioche with butter and a large serving of cole slaw, its tasty, and really big. I really love this place - the chicken is very tender and their sauce is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. My only suggestions would be to offer a chicken breast (no bones) and a sweet potato side variation. I would eat here multiple times a week if they did.
