I recommend that you do NOT use The Brinks Group or San Diego Pipe Lining Co. (by The Brinks Group) for any reason! If you care to know why, here are the facts: * We moved into our building in Jan 2017 and began to experience sewage back up in the bathrooms. * We called multiple plumbing services to manage the back ups, thinking that snaking the pipes would work. * On April 6, 2017 - The Brinks Group was called to service our sewer problems. They snaked the pipes and cleared debris. They recommended that if we were to line our pipes to smooth out the interior of the old rutted pipes, the sewage and debris would pass through without any resistance and all of our problems would be solved. * We obtained bids from 3 plumbing contractors and chose Brinks. * July 17, 2017 - We signed a contract with The Brinks Group to line our pipes as they had suggested and recommended to resolve our back up (sewage) & plumbing problems. * On July 31st 2017 - The Brinks Group began lining our pipes. While lining our sewer pipes The Brinks Group discovered a "tangled mess of pipes" and The Brinks Group suggested that they could "straighten them out to make the flow of the system better" at an additional cost to us of $10,000.00 more than the original proposal. * We agreed to this additional repair. * On August 31st 2017 - The Brinks Group declared that they had successfully completed the pipe lining repair project and stated that now all of our plumbing problems (back up of sewage) was satisfactorily resolved. * We paid The Brinks Group in full, a total of $40,000. ($10,000 more dollars than their original quote of $30,000). * Less than 48 hours after The Brinks Group had been paid in full and had vacated the building declaring that our plumbing problems were satisfactorily resolved, we began to experience raw sewage backing up into our bathrooms again! * We have NEVER been able to use our bathrooms before, during or since The Brinks Group has "completed" the repairs. Our bathrooms are still not serviceable and they are inoperable. * Commencing in early September 2017 we made numerous attempts to request that The Brinks Group repair our inoperable bathrooms as they had been contracted and paid for. * NOTHING was accomplished by The Brinks Group and the repairs that were made by them were 100% UNSUCCESSFUL. * On November 17, 2017 we made contact with the owner of the company, Bill Brinks. He was asked to come to our site and inspect the "repairs." * Bill Brinks declared that we did not have enough "fall" in the line for the solids to move downstream in the sewer pipes correctly. * Bill Brinks recommended that a satisfactory "fix" would be to install a "sump pump" as an alternative. * Bill's recommendation was to pump raw sewage over the top of our biotech company, across the roof of our biotech company, down through the warehouse of our biotech company and then tie the line into the sewer pipes that he determined had the correct "fall." * On November 29, 2017 we received a "new" proposal from Bill Brinks to conduct these alternative repairs in the amount of $30,000.00! * Understand, we paid, in good faith, $40,000.00 to The Brinks Group to repair our plumbing problems upon their professional advice. * Once it was more than apparent that their repair was 100% unsuccessful, instead of offering to reimburse us for the unsuccessful repairs, the company owner Bill Brinks proposed that, "If you really want to get the job done right, you will need to pay me an ADDITIONAL $30,000.00!" * The suggested repairs are so preposterous and clearly NOT in accordance with running a pharmaceutical grade biotech operation, not to mention that we have absolutely NO faith in working with a contractor who basically hosed us in the first place and is now trying to squeeze us for an additional $30,000.00, that we have declined his offer and we have asked for a reimbursement for the FAILED attempted and unsuccessful plumbing repairs. * I imagine you can guess what the outcome of our legitimate request has been...Bill Brinks has essentially given us the middle finger! * We have since contacted additional plumbing contractors for bids to resolve our plumbing issues. * We asked The Brinks Group to refund us our $40,000.00 such that we can pay a professional contractor to successfully fix our original issues. * The Brinks Group refused to refund us the $40,000 that we paid them in good faith and in FULL. *It is now February 2018 and our plumbing issues still remain unresolved. *Our toilets/bathrooms are completely unusable and inoperable. *Bill Brinks refuses to return any phone calls, refund us our money or fix the issue in a reasonable manner and gratis since he's already taken $40,000 from our family owned business. * STAYAWAY! read more

I had to have the stems and valves replaced in my condo shower due to a worn out valve that was leaking continuously. I previously had two plumbers come in to try to do the job. The first plumber came in and cut out a hole in my shower to do the work. But after he did the cutout, he told me that in order to put in the single Moen valve and do the necessary work he would have to make a much larger hole cut because he could not reach the pipework otherwise. He said it would be impossible to do without getting new shower surround put in by him, costing $4,000. The second guy that came, worked for the condo complex on a regular basis and "knew the complex like the back of his hand." He gave me an estimate and said he could do it but told me he would still have to recut the hole to make it lower in order to reach the pipes to cut them out for the single valve Moen but then I would still have to find a large metal plate to cover the hole, which would be "out of code" or, I should just get a completely new shower surround which he was going to give me a "discount on" and would cost about $3,700. His quote to just replace the valve stems and put in the single valve Moen was about $700. I thought it was too high so I did some research and found I could get someone to come in and do a fiberglass repair after the hole was cut out for the job and Moen was put in, thus avoiding the large metal plate to cover the cutout. Then I found Brinks on the Internet and told them the situation. The owner really seemed knowledgeable and very professional. He knew exactly what the problem was and gave me a quote far less than any of the other companies gave me. I agreed to have the work done by his company since it had good reviews. He sent out John Hartman to do the work. I have to say John did an amazing job. He did it without even having to cut any more of the exiting hole, so I didn't even have to get a fiberglass repair company to do any further work afterwards, saving me at least a hundred and fifty dollars. Also, Brinks charged me much less for doing the work than either of the other two plumbing companies were going to charge me, I saved a hundred and twenty dollars on that end. Overall, I saved minimum of a few hundred dollars, if not thousands of dollars if I ended up replacing the shower surround. I highly recommend this company and if you get the opportunity to have John do your work, he is highly skilled and very professional and you will not be disappointed. read more

Brandon and his team at the Brinks Group plumbing and restoration are amazing! Brandon, Brendon and the entire Brinks team were professional and personable throughout the process. The copper pipes in my condo complex were failing, so we had to undergo a pipe restoration project (through the CuraFlo relining).  Brinks and the Property Management held meetings to set expectations and answer questions which was very helpful, however having bad past experiences with my HOA and other contractors, still left me quite nervous.  Though they set expectations in a calm manner, all I heard is I would have strangers in my house while at work and have cool to cold showers for two weeks.  Given past experiences I was freaking out just a little inside, but all I could do was pray for the best.  Oh my gosh, the best was what I got!  Sarah was great at working with me to fit the walkthroughs into my schedule both pre and post, she even went the extra mile to give me her cell should I need to contact her on a Saturday. Debbie was quite helpful and patient when it came to the contracts. Brendon and Tino were prompt and super personable when they came in to do the filming for the initial walkthrough.  When it came time for the actual work, that went smooth too; the gentlemen took good care of my home, protected it, locked up every night as promised, and not only that but they finished early!!! Brandon did the final walkthrough, not only was he prompt and professional, but he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful answering all my questions!!! It is so rare these days to work with businesses that are honest, fair, professional and not only meet but exceed expectations; for that I am just BLOWN AWAY with the experience I had with Brinks!  Oh and did I mention, in addition to cleaning up the protective equipment they provided, they even cleaned my floors and faucets!!!  This experience by far exceeded expectations!  Brinks will be the first ones I think of to refer others to, and use for all of my future plumbing needs.  Brinks did a good job at promoting such a great culture, but it takes having the right people on the team to execute it flawlessly, making the client experience AMAZING! read more

In conclusion after paying The Brinks Group Inc. $40,000.00 to fix our plumbing issues we still can't use our bathrooms. We had a major pipe leak underneath our house earlier this year. We actually had water come up through our floor heating vents...total disaster. We had done two remodels in the house in the past ten years, done by two different contractors. It didn't help that our house is 30 years old. We have had three different "water events" in the past five years, and were on the verge of being cancelled by our insurance company. One of the things I learned is that plumbers, like insurance companies use cute or funny ads on TV to gain market share, but the are all pretty much the same. We had two different plumbing companies come in to fix the problem. The leaks continued. We have pretty nice house, so the bids were all over the map. The 3rd plumber was from the remediation company, and in my view the only honest one, told us about epoxy coating. He said it was a far better alternative than repiping our entire house. Enter Bill Brink and Brinks services. Bill Brinks came out personally to inspect our home. His bid was prompt and a bit eye opening, but it was thorough and easy to understand, and definitely not scribbled on a pink form. I check a couple of references, and they were impeccable. We had to leave our home for a week, as the amount of pipes and equipment and trucks. They did a through job of protecting our home, and in the end, we were very happy with the result. His epoxy coating has a lifetime warranty,, and his fixtures have a ten year manufactures warranty. ll Brinks is a man of great integrity, with a great staff of plumbers, with really large trucks. The complex I live in has faulty plumbing - always has and likely always will. I have had plumbing issues since 1999 - every 2 years or so the lines outside my unit become blocked and must be rooted out or water jet blasted. In July 2011, again in March 2013 (6AM) and today - Sunday Oct 12, 2014 (6PM) (the line NEVER plugs up during daytime working hours), my line became blocked solid and the Brinks dispatcher was contacted. In March 2013 the Brinks dispatcher was notified at 7AM, the plumber arrived at about 8:30AM and completed his work by 11AM. Today the Brinks dispatcher was notified at 5:50PM, the plumber arrived between 6:30PM and 7PM, was finished by 8PM. I always want the plumber to be on his way to my residence before I call him and complete the task even quicker. Usually the stoppage becomes evident after working hours, when there are fewer plumbers available and I want the problem fixed immediately. But realistically I cannot complain given this speed of service given the off-hours time of need. They respond quick and do the job correctly. And they always explain the cause of the problem, the condition of the pipes so I can complain to the HOA. I am happy with their level of service - period. read more

I had sprung a leak in my front yard on a Thursday and started calling around for a plumber to come and help isolate the issue. I made a few calls and reached Brinks about 5 or 6 calls in, they didn't have anyone available until the following Monday but were really helpful with explaining their services and gave me a tip to save me some money. I ended up going with one of the big name companies because they were available to come out the following morning. Their guy was good and isolated the issue, a leak in the Jones valve that provides water to my main pipe to my house. He gave me their estimate and it was much higher than I expected, more than 3 times! I paid him for his visit and immediately called Brinks and spoke to the gentleman from the day before. I asked him for a quote for the same part and service and it was less than a 1/3 of what the big name guys wanted. Today the Jones valve was replaced, Dan was professional and very efficient and got the job done faster than I expected. Highly recommend Brinks, quality and warranty as good as the big names, without the added in advertising costs. I'm happy to advertise for them and possibly save others hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Seriously! read more

Our kitchen sink was backed up, so we gave Brinks a call. Kenneth came out the next morning, snaked the line outside and told us we needed a new garbage disposal since ours was leaking. The landlord opted to install it himself. Once the disposal was installed, the sink was still an issue. I will admit I wasn't happy that the line had not been cleaned from the house, so I called back and spoke with Teresa who was super helpful and cheerful despite the fact I expressed my frustration to her. Kenneth was back at our place within the hour to make things right. He immediately got to work. Based on my answers to his prior questions, he thought the inside of the house was clear, but once we cleared that up, he got his equipment and snaked the whole line. Kenneth checked the install and corrected an error the landlord made, which unchecked, could have resulted in catastrophic flooding. Despite my frustration, both Kenneth and Teresa were professional and committed to insuring the service provided was completed and that we were satisfied. Three weeks ago, I had the unfortunate situation of finding a gas leak outside of our home in our garden area. I called Brinks and they sent Thomas Scott out that same day to assess the situation. He was extremely knowledgable and very helpful in walking me through what needed to be done. Through each part of the process, Tom communicated with me exactly what was going on and gave me accurate timelines so I could plan accordingly. Not only was he knowledgable and helpful, he was sincerely empathetic to my family and me in a very difficult situation. Being without hot water, heat and a stove top is difficult, especially when you have guests in town as I did since it was over Mother's Day weekend. 5 stars is not enough for this company. I've used Brinks as both a board member for a 99 unit condo building and as an individual owner. I am impressed by their professionalism, integrity and customer service. They always presented a clear and decisive plan for how to effectively maximize the complex's funds while making the necessary repairs. As an individual owner I love how they are able to work with me and my at times, weird, schedule. I always have Brinks in my phone and recommend them to anyone needing plumbing services... even used them for a work function when we had to deal with flooding from a rain storm and needed a large number of commercial dryers or else our vendor showcase would have been ruined. I used them recently and have had many friends use them and have never had such a great experience with a plumber. The technician Jim that they sent to the house was extremely friendly and explained everything well. They were all about the details and even put on shoe covers to protect my floors while they worked. To top it off we had a issue with the same faucet a few months later and they came back and took care if it for no charge no questions asked. These guys used to be good now they came to my house everything is bad from moment I called till they left home in ruins the owner William Brink aka Bill brink is a liar and a thief and makes a few good employees look even worse, they came looked at the problem which was and is still a leak and I signed the invoice to start they asked me for 10% percent(totally legal) but then when they left I gotta call asking for another 50% so I paid it I was under the impression that they were starting that day but no they put off for 2 weeks now! Had a slab leak. After receiving a quote for complete re-pipe from one local company, I contacted Brinks for information on pipe re-lining. The service technician took the time on the phone to explain why that couldn't be an option. And because he did, I made an appointment to have them come out and also quote a re-pipe. After examining the situation their recommendation was to fix in place, which I went with. Dan and Mike knew what they were doing. The repair was made in one day. We had an old bullet piercing valve connection for the water to the fridge. Needed a change out. Came out on Friday and assessed nd told us not to worry over the weekend for there was no sign of leaking and that he would be back on Monday to replace it. We questioned an angle stop as opposed to the bullet piercing valve. He came back on Monday with both, and when inside the tight space saw he could get the angle stop in and did so. Brinks was a very responsive company. They showed up on time, called when he said he would, very cordial, friendly company, nice follow up, etc. Go for it! read more

My friend Jim referred us to Bill at Brinks plumbing for us to get our sewer line camera done. Our regular plumber said we needed to spend 20k on replacing our entire sewer line! Bill came out put a camera on our line and found the problem that was two feet outside our house! The previous owner drove a stake through our sewer line and stuff was getting caught on the stake. They cut out a two piece section and replaced it and everything is working perfect. Thank you bill for being honest and saving us so much money. I'm going to recommend you guys to everyone. read more
