    Threatened with legal action for leaving an honest review

    Not sure how this business has 4.8 stars. As previous reviewers have stated, this business significantly overcharges for their services. The plumber that came out was extremely nice and helpful, but [[HIGHLIGHT]]if you have questions regarding the excessive estimates the business owner Tim won't talk to customers and instead hides behind a women at home answering the phone who says she doesn't know why the charges are so high and the owner isn't available to answer questions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Have used many businesses over the years but would not recommend this one. Greedy overcharging, and poor customer service to say the least. Update: after posting this honest review now the business is threatening me with litigation: see photo

While the leak itself wasn't a big issue, once the ceiling was opened we discovered that all of our copper pipes were badly corroded. They recommended a full repipe of our home. We have a 4,000 square foot house, so this was a huge project. I got multiple quotes, and Burtech landed right in the middle price-wise. What really stood out to me was how willing they were to work with my specific requests. I had major stipulations, especially that they complete the repipe without visually accessing our kitchen, and they made it happen. They worked with our timeline, and Jose was incredibly communicative throughout the entire process. I'll admit I was a bit needy with questions, but he was always patient, understanding, and responsive. The estimate they gave us was exactly what we paid in the end--no surprise costs at all. The repipe itself was major (60+ holes throughout the house), but they worked so efficiently that it never felt overly intrusive. They were very clean, vacuumed and cleaned up every day, and truly respected our home. We have two young kids who nap, and they even worked around nap schedules so they weren't in certain rooms during that time. Overall, I'm extremely impressed with Burtech Plumbing. I've already recommended them and will continue to do so without hesitation.

That pricing was a major selling point and one of the reasons I chose them over other companies at the time. When I recently called to schedule my annual service, I was told the program had been discontinued and I would need to enroll in a new VIP plan at a significantly higher cost ($200+). The new pricing represents a substantial increase from what was originally promised. They stated they attempted to notify customers of the change, but I never agreed to any modification of the original terms. When I asked for documentation showing that the agreement allowed for this change, none was provided. After multiple exchanges, they did not budge and continued to repeat the same generic explanation rather than addressing the core issue of honoring the original agreement. I mean if they are going to promise the LIFE of the unit and then change the policy they should at a minimum give people under the previous plan at least 3-5 years before transitioning just out of fairness, not just cut them off the next year after. It's obviously fine to charge the new price to new customers. Anyway, at no point was there any effort to resolve the situation or offer a reasonable accommodation. I've been around a long time and dealt with many businesses, I've never seen anything like this. Given their otherwise strong reputation and BBB rating, this was particularly disappointing. As a long-term retired military customer who values reliability and transparency when choosing companies to service my home, this experience fell very short. Customers should be aware that long-term pricing commitments will not be honored or grandfathered and replaced with significantly higher-cost programs based on daily business decisions.

My family faced this situation and I contacted Quick Water Heater for help via Yelp. Within seconds (yes, seconds) Camille reached out to me (on a Sunday) and heard my dilemma. She walked me through their (very intuitive) website and explained the process for me. After agreeing to have a technician visit my home to assess the situation and provide a more accurate estimate, I waited for the next day. My appt was set for 1400 hrs but Erick contacted me asking if I could accommodate his visit earlier, which I welcomed with gusto. By 10AM he was taking a look at my dead appliance. Erick took a look and the mystery of the broken 1-yr-old water heater was resolved. My pressure modulator was dead, so the 150PSI streaming through my house killed the water heater. Erick replaced my water heater, the water pressure modulator and also replaced my main line shut-off valve, which was done as well. Through the process, Erick patiently explained not only WHAT he was doing, but WHY he was doing it. His technical knowledge was impressive and it was only matched by his affable demeanor. Camille and Erick represented Quick Water Heater extremely well. The Dream Team for any service provider. I will add myself to the long list of impressed customers. Well done!

This time around, our Rheem water heater failed before reaching even 7 years, despite having a 12‑year warranty. Even though Quick is closed on weekends, Brandon texted me and set us up first thing Monday morning. Ben (sales) was extremely helpful, walked me through all the options, and made a genuine effort to get Rheem to honor the warranty. Unfortunately, Rheem couldn't provide a replacement and instead offered fair market compensation (still TBD). Not thrilled with Rheem, but Ben handled the situation professionally and kept me informed throughout. We ultimately went with a Bradford White, and Sammy installed it the same day. His work was excellent--professional, efficient, and spotless cleanup. The Bradford White + installation was very reasonable and very surprisingly comparable to my prior installation. Very impressed with Quick's responsiveness, professionalism, and ability to turn everything around in a single day. Highly recommend them.

In the past Jacob, Erik, and others on the team were always professional, prompt, down to earth-- and all experts. They installed our 3 water heaters from them and a whole house filtration system. We have recommended them to our neighbors as well. Had the most uncomfortable conversation with owner Brandon who we've never interacted with in the past. Shockingly rude. I even said, "sounds like I caught you at a bad time" - yikes. A top contender for most negative and weird vibes from a sales/client interaction. This call happened after a slightly frustrating visit with Ben who admitted he only has 1 year of experience and was trying to keep up as best as he could. He was actively trying to learn on the spot. He was honest which I commend. Ben left saying he needs an actual technician present along with the owner's help to develop a more solid option and plan to move forward. Not a problem at all. It must be frustrating being an expert in your field having to speak about the same products and concepts with home owners who are relearning different/new systems on the fly. But if customer service is not your forte, stick to delegating and take hospitality courses so your loyal customers don't feel like they have to be apologetic for having questions on a $11k quote. Sadly, a "could have been better" 2/5 star experience, wish we could stick with them. Pro tip, maybe ask to exclusively interface with the seasoned members of their crew with 5+ years of experience so you avoid any negativity and can actually get the work you need done.

There was no actual flange at all, just a repair flange and it was set below the level of the flooring and filled in around with a mess of some kind of caulk or filler to try and raise the level up. Making this right was way out of our league, so we called MasterCraft to help us out. They confirmed our suspicions that this was messed up six ways from Sunday and talked through the process of cleaning out the filler, chipping away the concrete, and refilling it with a clean setting of concrete so they could set a proper flange 1/4" above the flooring and for a reasonable price considering how terrible the setup was. They immediately set up an appointment to return the next day. While they were there for the estimate, they offered a free inspection of the plumbing in the rest of the house, which I took to be a fishing expedition for more "problems" they could "fix" for more money, but such was not the case. They found one minor issue, said it could probably wait a few years, and even fixed another minor issue they found for free, then said everything else looked good. Startling honesty and helpfulness! From my call for help, they had folks out to check things out in about two hours, and the work was completed less than 24 hours after that. For the level of work done, an incredible turn time, IMO. All told, we had 5 different techs in our house between inspection and repair, and every single one was friendly, competent, and respectful of our home. While I'm not eager to *need* their services, if I do, MasterCraft Plumbing has definitely earned repeat customers here!

While the company performed the initial task of removing a corroded screw, their technician's negligence resulted in significant, irreparable damage to the bathtub. Despite a written warranty guaranteeing workmanship, the company refused to restore the tub to its original condition, instead proposing an inadequate "refinishing" remedy that did not meet professional standards. After months of attempting to reach a professional resolution, I was forced to pursue this matter in Small Claims Court. On June 8, 2026, the Superior Court of California ruled in my favor, confirming that the company failed to meet its obligations and awarding a judgment for the full cost of the necessary replacement. I am sharing this factual account to assist other consumers in their due diligence. I have attached the Court's Minute Order and photographs of the damage for transparency. I am posting this as an addendum to address the owner's response. I wish to clarify that the facts of this matter were adjudicated in the Superior Court of California (Case #25SC04822C). On June 8, 2026, the Court ruled in my favor and awarded a judgment for the costs of repair, rejecting the defendant's claims. My review is based on these documented findings, and I stand by the facts presented. They installed a brand-new water heater, ensured everything was fully up to code, and completed the job with the same care and attention to detail I remembered from years ago.
