RESPONSE TO TIM: Disappointing that Tim has replied with lies. Very dishonest. I have a text message thread where they actually ask me if I want them to install it. "Good morning Josh, would you like me to have Cameron come by this morning to replace that pert for you?" I also have an email from them saying to let them know after the part arrives and they will install it. "We'd be happy to install it for you when it comes in.". Happy to upload screenshots if they want to dispute it again. They set the expectation and cancelled last minute. All I wanted was to discuss what had happened. I've now changed my opinion because this business's replies are being extremely dishonest. He could have resolved it with a one minute phone call. And it's complete lies that they have responded to me. Haven't heard anything from them except for the reply to my review. My advice is find another plumber that will speak to you if there is a problem. Because this one hasn't for me. Tim could have just called me and regardless of the outcome of the call it would have been resolved. I would have even removed/updated my review. REVIEW: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Disappointing end to what was a 5 star experience. I have spent a significant amount of money with this company and had them do several projects around my house. The scheduler was extremely helpful and the plumber who performed all the work, Cameron, was super knowledgeable and great to work with. My experience ended with the company ignoring me when something went wrong.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of the jobs they performed was to fix a small issue with my Kohler Veil toilet. They wanted money upfront to look at it, which I thought was odd since my experience has been the plumber comes to look at the issue and estimates the cost to perform the work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So I called to discuss this concern and the lady on the phone assured me that the cost included a fix if it could be made, or replacement of a part, not including the cost of the part of course.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They diagnosed the issue on the phone with Kohler and were told to replace a part. They sent me the part I needed to order and confirmed in writing that they would be installing the part. The key part is that I have it confirmed in text and email that they would be installing the part. Also the plumber confirmed with me in person multiple times he would be replacing it. I ordered the part and they scheduled me. On the day the plumber was suppose to arrive they cancelled. The excuse I was given was that they don't work on these kinds of toilets. Surprising since they said they did when they took my money. Either way I wasn't mad. I requested a refund for this specific piece of work since I would need to spend that money on another plumber. And this is a small amount of money considering what I have spent with them overall. I did find another plumber who came and installed the part in 30 minutes. Very simple and fixed the issue. Surprising that they felt this was beyond their expertise. And if you are still reading here is where they lost me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I made the call to request a refund and heard nothing back for a week. I called them again and was told they won't do that but I can write an email with my grievance. I asked if Tim could call me back since it feels like a simple issue to resolve. I waited another week and nothing. So now I followed up with a text. Once again a couple weeks pass by and nothing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am being ignored. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I think I am a pretty reasonable person and I can't think of any situation where a family owned business decides that someone who has spent a lot of money with them is not worth a minute of their time. Not sure how this business has 4.8 stars. As previous reviewers have stated, this business significantly overcharges for their services. The plumber that came out was extremely nice and helpful, but [[HIGHLIGHT]]if you have questions regarding the excessive estimates the business owner Tim won't talk to customers and instead hides behind a women at home answering the phone who says she doesn't know why the charges are so high and the owner isn't available to answer questions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Have used many businesses over the years but would not recommend this one. Don't call Encinitas Plumbing for trouble-shooting any difficult problem. We called them to investigate a sewer/gas type smell. They refused to go under the house (it's on a crawl space), I suggested simply snaking a camera down a cleanout drain line to see if it was broken and they refused to do that as well...simply saying I needed to call a "bigger outfit" for a smoke test. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I could tell they didn't want anything to do with my issue.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only good thing I can say it they didn't charge me the call out fee. The first thing the "bigger outfit" I called did was to go under the house and check for a leak, then they scoped the kitchen clean out line and immediately found a break in the line...no "smoke test" needed. So, if you want a plumber who's willing to do the dirty work and solve your problem, try the "bigger outfits" and call Encinitas Plumbing for simple things like draining your water heater or installing a new disposal. read more

100 stars if we could. These guys are amazing. We gave them a call at 6pm (because plumbing issues always occur after hours..) and Tim emailed and texted me back that evening to find out more info. It seemed like we had an issue that couldn't wait so they moved their schedule around to come the next morning at 8am. They arrived promptly and were super professional about their work. After we explained the issue, they investigated and then explained what they found. We weren't sure where the leak was coming from and they did a great job finding it without breaking into any walls that didn't need to be broken into. They were super clear at explaining the issue they found, made the repairs in a quick and timely manner, and answered all the questions we had for them. They even gave us advice for a few other things and will be coming back to help with a few other issues. They were super respectful around masks and shoes and I'd recommend them 1000%! Our kitchen sink with garbage disposal clogged up. Encinitas Plumbing came out the next day and cleared it through the cleanout plug. Although not on the schedule they also snaked a bathroom double sink, and showed me how to use a snake - both at my request. We just got a brand new, beautiful kitchen faucet. Our old one had a leak that was getting worse. I finally broke down and called a plumber. I'm glad I did! I got a hold of Tim at Encinitas Plumbing and he was able to come out right away. He was very professional and wore a mask and gloves for our safety. When he saw that our faucet could not be repaired properly, he offered to go to Home Depot and pick up a new one for us. He came back with a beautiful new faucet and installed it.
