Although I made arrangements for my relative by phone (as I was in another part of the country) instead of in person, Elizabeth and Ned were very capable and were ready to answer every question I had. Grieving the loss of a loved one is overwhelming in itself, and planning a funeral can be as welcomed a distraction as it can be a huge burden. Initially, we felt that Brinsfield would ease that burden. They told us "we will do whatever you need" and "we have that covered". So when we submitted all the Obituary information to Brinsfield on Wednesday at noon (following the death of our grandmother on Monday) to give to the local papers, we believed they did have it covered. They specifically told us we had to go through them even though we stated multiple times we would be happy to do it ourselves to make sure it was done. Well, even though we submitted both the death notice AND the obituary to Michele Brinsfield at noon on Wednesday, nor the obituary nor the death notice ran in Friday's papers. My grandmothers services are this Sunday and Monday. Therefore, nothing will run before then. Instead of being understanding, kind, and apologetic, Michele Brinsfield was extremely rude and short with my grieving mother who only wants to make sure that her own mother is honored properly by all that knew her. Michele actually told my mother "we will pay the $15 for it to go in the local papers but we WILL NOT pay anymore for the post." As if this was our fault or they were doing us some sort of favor. Again, we are grieving and Brinsfield FORGOT to submit our grandmothers obituary. We were told "sometimes these things happen." A word of advice; do not count on Brinsfield to "do whatever you need". I know it will be hard, given that you have just lost a loved one, but you will need to micromanage every step of the way. Hopefully this review will ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else! read more

Michelle, Trey, and their staff were most accommodating as we had the most difficult task in arranging services for our dearly departed sister. The mortuary was very clean and the services provided were done professionally and with care. They were able to meet all of our family's needs. Thank you. read more

For openers, I wish I could leave less than one star. My father died several days ago. His services were handled by Brinsfield, but the viewing was at a church. I wanted to send flowers but was uncertain if they went to the funeral home or church. I emailed, but there appeared to be issues so I called. It was the first time I actually said the words my father died out loud and I was in tears. I don't know who answered the phone at Brinsfield but before I could finish saying I have a question about flowers for his service I was cut off with the response we don't do flowers. I said I know but...she interrupted again to say I can make recommendations. I said still not my question - where do I have them delivered to Brinsfield or...she interrupted a third time we don't deliver flowers. At that point, I heard a lot of loud laughter and chatter in the background so I merely hung up. Later that afternoon, a woman called back and said she was responding to my email. I was quiet for a short second because it sounded exactly like the woman I had spoken to in the morning. Before I could respond, she said hello hello. I said I'm still here but aren't you the person I talked to this morning? She said no and I said you sound exactly like her but if you aren't, I had a question about flowers. Once again before I could finish my thought I got interrupted with we don't do flowers. I said are you sure you aren't the person I spoke to this morning. She responded I am MICHELLE BRINSFIELD and I AM the OWNER. I had no idea that I was in a conversation with her royal highness but word of warning one must always display the proper reverence in the presence of royalty. Just ask her. I will always be in pain over my father and this is therapeutic. The first reviewer was right Michelle Brinsfield is rude. She is also a condescending shrew without an ounce of compassion in her nasty body. read more
