I can't say enough about our experience with this company and especially Jeff Brinson. I found their info on Craigslist and called them for help. A person (Sharon) actually answered and took down all the specifics and scheduled an estimate for the next morning! Jeff Brinson really worked hard to fix the mess we gave him, when I know anyone else would've given up or tacked on an additional charge. This is the first and last time we will use this plumber. We've had many plumbers over the years and many good ones in our list but this company (Jeff) only warranties his work for 30 days, we found out after the fact. They charged us over $100 to replace a toilet flushing mechanism. Three months later it started leaking over our hardwood floors and into basement. I called them and they came by two days later to fix. He charged my wife $135 to tighten the loose bolts in the bottom of the tank claiming someone had rocked them lose. Total rip off and not ethical in my opinion. read more

We currently live in Florida have a tenant renting my condo in N. VA, who called about a leaky toilet. I called Brinson and Son based on the rave reviews. Jeff (the technician) called me from the condo and said my toilet was in horrible condition. ALL tank parts needed to be replaced at a cost of $275.00. I called my husband explaining the costs. He then called Jeff to justify the costs. My husband stated that he could replace the entire toilet for that amount of money. Jeff said that my husband should fly back from Florida and do just that. Then Jeff hung up on my husband. Sharon called and apologized, but we decided to go in a different direction by then. A licensed plumber from craigslist, Greg, fixed a clogged the sink and the toilet for $80.00. All that needed to be replaced was the Flush Valve Drain Seat ($10 from Ace Hardware). I appreciate Sharon calling me to apologize. I just hope this was a bad case of a technician trying to take advantage of an out of town customer. read more

This is my second experience with Jeff Brinson, and I'm really pleased. In fact, Jeff's wife Sharon, who answers the phone, is probably the best customer service person I've encountered in years. Based on my description of a leak in our home (which dripped through the ceiling into our guest room below), Sharon suggested that our problem might merely be an aging toilet. Turns out she was totally right -- saving us a fortune in drywall and painting work. As if that weren't helpful enough, Sharon helped me locate a plumbing supply company that carries Toto toilets, so I didn't have to go through a pricey "bathroom design" firm in Tyson's. And THEN, she called them and had them get everything ready for when I picked it up. This evening I had to call a plumber to come out ASAP because had a leak in my fireplace and Washington Gas had turned off my gas (leaving me with no heat). After calling countless different companies to try and get someone to come out and fix it so I could turn my heat back on, I finally stumbled upon Jeff Brinson. To say that this guy was fantastic would be the understatement of the year (even though it's only a week old...). Jeff had already put in a full day and told me he was completely booked for the next week. He said that he would come by and take a look and try to fix it. He got to my place around 8pm and worked until about 10pm. He was really concerned about the mess he was making and was constantly apologizing for it. He cleaned up everything at the end and left with a smile. He never seemed like he was being put out for being there. I can't recommend him enough. And, he offers a warranty for all of his work. Very disappointed. I read the reviews here and was enthused to call them about installing a toilet. Was told that "this is not something we could do right now," to which I replied, "...or anytime in the future...?" The answer was no, with no explanation as to why. OK, fine. I strongly recommend you not even consider using Brinson and Son Plumbing. This is my recommendation even though he never even made it to my home. I had an appointment for him to work on my water heater at 2 pm on Oct 2, 2013. When no showed up by 3:30 I called the office and didn't get anyone but did left a voicemail. At a little after 5 pm Jeff called me and said he was on his way, but that he had to pick his daughter and that he was bringing her with him. I asked how old was she, he replied nine. Then rudely asked if this was a problem, I replied yes, he said if I wanted my heater fixed she had to come. I declined his offer of service. He didn't provide any reason why he was calling three hours after the appointment and was very rude. I was on the fence about using him because the estimate to replace an anode in my water heater was $450, as I found out an outrageous amount. Run don't walk away from this company. read more
