If you are interested in seeing incompetence at its best, go to this location for a real treat. The staff is slower than molasses. Terrible

No seating, so you have to eat and drink at the terminal chairs. Made a quick stop here to try them out before heading on my flight from Chicago to Omaha. Guada was very nice while ringing up my order. Ricardo made a great hot Pistachio mocha latte! My Spinach & Feta pastry was so good warmed up! Come check them out if you're flying through here!!!

Date of visit: May 22, 2025…read more I am wary of pretty much every single coffee shop in an airport that is not a Starbucks (and even those can get a side eye once in a while), but was pleasantly surprised by the output from Metropolis Coffee in Terminal 5 at O'Hare. Once a desolate outpost, this concourse is finally coming alive with food and beverage options, Metropolis being one of them. Tip: Go for the larger size; I didn't notice until after I had completed my order, but at this time the large size was less than $1 more than the regular size. I hadn't wanted the calories as I was going to be boarding a transatlantic flight, but had I known, I would have taken the additional caffeine for the small cost! Staff were pleasant and reasonably efficient and the coffee--while not Starbucks--was better than expected, both the White Chocolate Mocha Latte I had and what I finished of my husband's Caramel Frappe. And don't sleep on the rice krispy treats, they are quite good!

Yesterday, I was at O'Hare Terminal 5 waiting for my flight to board when a delay happened…read more No biggie as this is what happens in today's world. So, I'm walking around, and being a bit hungry I saw The Hampton Social satellite restaurant and decided to give this famous restaurant a try; and it was packed, which was a good sign. I ordered their fried chicken sandwich with Cole slaw. I got a stool at the bar and waited for my number to be called. Within 10 minutes "5120" was hollered "your order is ready for pick up". I grabbed my bag, walked over to my stool and lo and behold I got a very salty smash burger with fries? What the hell? I didn't have the time to replace this mishap, so I ate as much my palette could handle. I was disappointed and salted out. I'm sure their regular stand alone restaurant is good and something like this would never happen.......but there I was very dejected!

After my flight was delayed 2 hours, I decided I needed something to eat…read more The Hampton Social was close to my gate and they had seats open and available. I decided on the breakfast sandwich and an espresso martini. The breakfast sandwich was delicious! It came with scrambled eggs, cheddar and bacon on a toasted buttery croissant. It was absolutely delicious! It also came with a side of fruit (pineapple, honeydew and grapes), which was very fresh and also delicious. To drink I had an espresso martini. It was very good. My server and bartender was Sean. He was attentive and checked in on me often. I also found out they offer their cocktails to go. This is good to know if you're trying to catch your flight. For the breakfast sandwich and espresso martini it cost about $40 including tax. I found that to be very reasonable considering it's at the airport.
