This is definitely a little hole in the wall. You feel at home here. The place is small and there isn't much seating . The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I started with the chicken and beef empanadas. So delicious, they have a spicy sauce that's not really spicy but it's so good, also the have the pink sauce. I ordered the lunch special today and got breaded fish, white rice, arepa, macaroni salad, soup. Everything was so good, and it felt like home . The food came out so good but I did find the place very hard to eat. It was small and the layout was a bit odd. It is a square space but very tight. If they are busy be prepared to wait for a seat. They are usually busy during there lunch hours. If you are craving cheap Colombian food this is the spot. Their specials are affordable and huge portions. Stumbled upon this place on yelp. Wanted a quick cheap Spanish lunch. When I went in around 1pm this place was packed but me and my bf took a seat at the counter. The place is very small. I asked for a menu but it was all in spanish. Luckily i can read spanish. I saw the 8$ special and asked about it. A lady was so friendly and automatically knew what we would want, i guess because we were black in a Hispanic restaurant. We order the special which included 1/4 roasted chicken, white rice, slaw, plantains, and a drink. It was soooo good and took 2min to plate. The food was plenty and worth the 8$. I've been coming to this place for the longest time, even when the old owner was there. There was always a reason to come back, the portions were always generous, the food very taste and fresh, but most importantly the service was always great. I noticed changes to the food and service as time when on after the owner told it to the now owners, still I continue going to them because I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I always order the specials and their prices went up from 8.00 to 12 but they charge $2.00 for using your card even if you're using cash, they charge for the containers the food goes into, so your total is now $14. I ordered a Bandeja for my coworkers knowing this a very generous dish as you're paying $23 for it. I was disappointed to see 1 very thin sliced meat (the call it steak) cut in two pieces, the tray was full of yesterday's rice because it was hard, one egg, one very thin piece of chicharron, 1 sausage and 1 sweet plantain. We couldn't even share the thin meat or their steak because it literally disintegrated into shreds due how thin it was. Needless to say no one ate the rice as it was hard, left it. The bandeja paisa and 1 special came to $37, and I was charged "Over the phone payment" when I paid the delivery person with my debit card. I gave it a good college try, but this is it. I understand every place is cutting down on extras, this isn't the way to cut corners, because your clients will feel played and will find a better venue where they are not being sold a fraction of what they pay. I feel like the food is fresh, they have good specials, they have a punch card where after certain purchases your next meal is free, they serve a lot of food for very cheap price. The empanadas are absolutely divine. The staff was extremely helpful and warm. Helped us navigate the menu and gave excellent suggestions.
