I went to Bristle after reading about it on Yelp and the reviews were right. Sheri was great! I came in with a few pictures of what I was looking for in terms of color/partial highlights and she was able to do exactly what I had wanted. My hair color turned out perfectly and she was very attentive while listening to me describe what I was looking for. She made honest suggestions about the cut and didn't try to push me to do anything I didn't want. I am very happy with the results and will go back again when it comes time for a touch-up and cut. read more

This review is for Marilyn, who was brought to me by the grace of god through a Groupon. The Groupon deal is an unbelievably good value on its own but after experiencing Marilyn's waxing skills, I thought it was a goddamn steal. $44 for 3 sugaring Brazilians ($14.67 each). I've tried 10~ other waxing places and Marilyn is definitely the most THOROUGH I've ever been to, along with being quite personable and accommodating. The salon itself is super cute and her room in the back is well-decorated. The original price of her Brazilian sugaring is $40 (cheap already compared to other sugaring services which are not as thorough) and she gives a student discount price of $30. SO WORTH THE PRICE. First she does a quick, efficient wax, then takes tweezers and takes care of any stragglers/ingrowns, and afterwards puts on some after-care solution. I'm prone to ingrowns and Marilyn is a freakin pro at making them come out. I've seriously never seen anyone as good as her when it comes to this aspect. She gives me great info on after-care, battling ingrowns, and even directed me to an awesome thrift shop for Halloween costumes. So awesome! I've made appointments with her by both phone and text, and while she doesn't always pick up, she does always responds to my voicemails by giving me a text/call back. I was referred to Lonnaye by an ex coworker and have loved her from the start! She does a great job with my cut and color- I'm never disappointed. She knows how much I love a nice volume blow out and always goes the extra mile for me. I see her every 4 weeks religiously and don't plan on ever leaving! I came in asking for an ombre color. When I left, my hair really didn't look like I had ombre color, just mainly one overall color. Love, love, love this salon! Sheri, my fave hairstylist ever, has been cutting and coloring my hair for nearly 5 years now. She has always taken the time to truly listen to what I'm hoping for and always delivers spot on. My hair is a unique blend of curly/frizzy but fine, and it's beginning to gray. I always leave feeling fresh and sassy! :) The salon itself is neat, clean and has a very comfortable, relaxed, easy & welcoming vibe to it. Their prices are reasonable and IMHO - it's the best salon in town. Olivia was fun to talk to, very sweet, and spent a good amount of time before starting to find out what I wanted. I went in for partial highlights and and cut today and explained to the very nice stylist that I wanted some natural highlight and about an inch taken off my hair. I had highlights in the past and really loved them. I guess we must have had different ideas of what natural is, because I ended up with bleached zebra stripes throughout my brown hair. The outcome wasn't even close to natural for my hair color or skin type. The owner was very nice about it and sent me home with dye that was supposed to calm down the highlights and bring them down to my natural color, which didn't work as I still have bleached streaks thoughout my hair. Everyone was very nice about and the owner offered to fix my hair next week, but I just can't go a week with hair looking like this. I don't think I would be this upset if I didn't have engagement photos coming up in the next few weeks. Although everyone is very nice at the salon, I don't recommend this salon. read more

Relaxing but fun salon, and Sheri is GREAT. I have tried different stylists over the years and have often been frustrated when it felt like they didn't really listen to me when I told them what I wanted. Sheri was recommended to me last year and I have loved her from the very first haircut! She really hears what I want and then makes it happen, and I love my haircut every single time. I don't usually write reviews for places -- I like to think that I'm easy going -- but I was so disappointed with my hair appointment that I feel it deserves a review. I used a groupon for my visit which was to included a haircut with a deep conditioning. Seemed like a good deal. Only, I'm not sure I received any kind of deep conditioning; it seemed like a normal wash and condition to me, nothing special at all. I expected a deep conditioning to require at least a few minutes to sink in. Then the haircut. I asked for a trim and that's what I got. The trim looks fine but my problem with it was that I think she spent a total of 5 minutes trimming my thick hair. Honestly, I thought that maybe it was just an initial trim and she'd go back and section it off to trim it. Nope. She was done. I think I could have handed my husband scissors and he'd do the same thing. I was in and out in 30 minutes which is less time than it takes me to wash and dry my own hair at home. Just a waste of my money, honestly. read more
