I've found Ian Scott, who is the owner and principal point of contact, to be courteous, prompt and professional. Jobs with him always start with a site visit, where he looks over the work that needs to be done, makes suggestions, offers advice, and ultimately provides an estimate for the work that needs to be done. His estimates are always accurate (I've never had one go over), and his team is thorough in the work they do. They do all manner of tree work, including removal (including large trees), thinning, even sculpting and trimming. His team is also trained to scale large trees with climbing equipment, so they can thin and trim even in very tallest of trees. I will continue to use Urban Arborist into the future, and highly recommend this local business.

Jake the arborist and his two crew members did a fantastic job removing our tree! They had to remove it carefully while not disturbing the neighbors' maple trees and other plants that were very close to it. They were prompt, friendly, and efficient. They thought it might take three hours but it took them only about 1.5 hours. They also asked if we wanted any of the tree for firewood or projects. We said no, so they took away all the branches, trunk pieces, and debris. We were pleased with how the whole removal process went. A few days later, the office contacted Marcus to see if it went well and if we had any feedback or requests for them before they sent us an invoice. Great customer service! "...well you could cut the dead off, and I guess some light pruning" -- ok, do you want to give me a bid on that? Communication with Roger proved to be difficult and I didn't want to get into the work stage of this job knowing there were problems at the bidding with comms. Roger was rude, unprofessional and didn't have any suggestions I'll have to rely on someone else to help me determine how we can keep our tree happy and healthy. Andy came out to take a look and give an estimate, and while he was here we discussed other major work on another locust that would keep our roof safe in the future. I was impressed by Andy's knowledge and experience, and his estimate turned out to be slightly lower than another estimate we'd gotten, so we went with Dominant. A few days later Matthew arrived right on time with his crew. In addition to the branch removals, tree shaping and trimming, Matthew took the time to replace an old cable on our biggest locust that he saw was cutting into the bark with a superior cabling system. He and his crew were all so helpful, pleasant, and respectful of the yard and garden. Despite all the heavy branches that needed trimming, there was no damage to anything and cleanup was above and beyond.
