Gabe and Martin walked through before the start of the project to ensure they understood how to translate the plans into reality. Sage and Stone also worked with us on options to reduce the overall scope and budget, for instance suggesting we could lower costs a bit by doing some of the demolition and prep work ourselves (which we did). The project started on schedule and the team reliably showed up every single day for the next ten weeks. We had them remove and create a new retaining wall with Techo-Blocs, relocate a freestanding structure onto new footings, install pavers under the structure, and install a new composite deck. The team also leveled out and rebuilt a small path in the yard, evening out a slope and creating a more graceful grade by installing large 4' black granite steps. Everything was edged using Colmet to keep the lines clean and they even installed a freestanding outlet in the yard to bring power to the seating area. There were minor adjustments along the way and the team showed great attention to detail. For instance, the freestanding structure posts required a skirt to conceal the post brackets. These were hand scribed onsite and featured backcut cedar with an elegant slope, cleanly mitrered and sealed joints, and most importantly, sealed undersides to protect them from water damage. Small details like aligning paver joints with the natural lines in the steps or landing, finding materials to patch up areas of the house that were newly exposed by the updated deck profile, and concealing electrical lines were most appreciated. When the inevitable issues arose, Martin walked us through the situation and we quickly reached a suitable outcome that he effectively managed. I can't stress enough how hard everyone worked and that effort consistently carried to the end of the day until they cleaned up the jobsite. Tools were neatly arranged and materials were moved into inconspicuous places before the crew left everyday. The yard looks fantastic and we love spending time out there. We're extremely happy with their work and would love to work with them again! Highly recommended.

It very much looks like the company plans to hog that parking space until spring. New home, had been rented for a few years and previous owner left the yard a little crazy…read more Brambles, ivy, pest problems, yard was either mostly weeds or moss. Called them and had them give a walkthrough and quote, they discovered a lot of usable and nice plants in the middle of all the blackberries and ivy, and what I love is the guy who quoted also worked the job so there was no miscommunication. They showed up both for the quote and the job at the specified time. They showed up with a massive crew, way more than I expected for the cost, and absolutely ravaged the invasive plants, ivy and blackberry while leaving all the struggling plants I liked safe. They also aerated, primed, seeded and raked sphagnum over the lawn in the fall so I'd have a good start on a real lawn (writing this now as spring comes, and it looks great). They did miss one little patch of stuff I wanted out, but that was mostly miscommunication, and they hit it a few days later when they were in the neighborhood. Super nice service.

There was the anti weed fabric and old mulch that wasn't doing the work which needed to go. The slope was uneven and despite all efforts weeds always took over. I met with a lot of companies, one being rainbow of magnolia which is a company in our neighborhood. Ernesto came over a couple of times to talk through the project with me and was available to communicate and answer all of my questions before I decided to go with them. the crew came everyday at 7 am and worked non stop until 4. They removed all the weeds, the fabric, evened the slope, got rid of the borders and rims around the roses and plants on the sides, installed an irrigation system and laid out sprinkler heads at various points to ensure newly laid sod ensuring coverage. They took out old stones that we had and replaced that with a proper walkway to go out to the sides. They did all this while checking in with us regularly and clarifying details. I was happy with the effort and the quality for the price I paid. The heat wave struck four days after and the sod took a beating and Ernesto came over took a look and committed to replacing the browned out patches for new ones after the heat settles down. We are also considering getting a bid from them for planting trees and shrubs which is a sperate effort from the work I described above. They have a dedicated person who does this sort of work.
