This place was a total random date find for me, but glad I stopped in. Everything from the rowed Xmas lights on the ceiling, to the custom avant-garde wooden bar top speaks late 60s/early 70s cozy-chic to me. On top of this, the music and clientele rocks and, as a bonus, the interior is decked out in Rat Pack movie memorabilia -- apropos as the spot is, I imagine, named for the 1955 Sinatra film! Because there was no…read morebeer on tap, it was a Corona from a refrigerator & my thoughts were that I could go across the street to Target to get beer from a refrigerator for cheaper. However, when this guy invited me inside on Wed. 9-6-23,, it was a different story. It was very welcoming & friendly. The cold beers (Corona, Dos Equis, Modelo) in bottles were delicious, especially on a hot day, & at a discounted price during happy hour. The bartender (the owner's wife) kindly made me some free popcorn. There was a jukebox playing Mexican music & it was entertaining to see someone singing along to some songs. I enjoyed my time there & was thankful that my friend had invited me. I really like him & liked it even more watching him play pool & hit the ball really hard at times. And I learned some more Spanish too. So my mind changed from 1 to 5 stars. Thanks for your generosity & thanks for treating him well!

The place was the sh*t. I've come here several times over the past couple years and it's more and more dead at the restaurant every time. The waitresses are absolutely dreadful. Every request is forgotten or takes 20 mins to arrive at the table. When we arrived we waited 20 mins for a waitress. We asked for some sauce, they forgot. We ordered a pizza, which was delivered to the wrong table. When we wanted to leave, the check took 20 mins as well. Now I have a crying baby and I'm waiting for them to try and split the check two ways and I eventually give up knowing that the task is too much for them to handle and just pay it all on one card. We had to track down the waitresses multiple times. It's like they have NO ability to anticipate the needs of their customers. "They ordered, pizza, maybe I should bring some plates". Nope! "They'll probably want their sauce before the food item is ICE COLD". Nope! Anytime we went into the restaurant the girls were on their phones. There were five tables in the restaurant tonight so there really was no excuse. I think this will be the last time I ever go to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the reputation of the old Congregation Ale House kept me coming back even when time after time, the service was abysmal, however, now that Congregation's former glory is thoroughly tarnished I can honestly say that I will not be coming back and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Quality like this cannot be tolerated. Travis, the former owner, would be ashamed of this fall from grace. R.I.P. Congregation Ale House

There is nothing special or significant about this bar. The reason I gave 1 star was the bathroom. I kid you not, there was a fucking hole in the woman's bathroom window! The screen was destroyed, literally anyone can stick their face in and watch you pee. This is really unsafe and so fucked up.

During my first visit, the service was great and I tipped generously -- around 40% -- especially since it's the holiday season. Unfortunately, tonight was very different. The service was poor from the start. The waitress handled my drink by placing her fingers directly on the rim of the glass, which made me uncomfortable and raised hygiene concerns. When it came time to pay, I covered the entire table's bill and, despite the service, still left a 40% tip. What truly bothered me was what happened next. After processing the payment, the waitress thanked only the white woman at our table and never acknowledged me or my mother -- despite the fact that I paid the entire bill. That moment felt dismissive and, honestly, discriminatory. It's disappointing, because everyone else seemed pleasant and the atmosphere is otherwise enjoyable. Unfortunately, this experience has made it unlikely that I'll return.

Drink prices were very reasonable ($13 for a Malibu & Coke and a Mudslide). We asked about food and were told that on occasion one of the women working there will bring something in or fire up a grill, but it's not a regular thing. Overall, it's a fun neighborhood bar with friendly service, and an intimate place to gather, hang out, and meet/make new friends. We'll be back.
