First visit and had a good experience. Nancy was bartending, and she couldn't have taken better care of us. It's a neighborhood dive bar, but I say that in a good way. The place is smallish, has one pool table, a couple TVs, but no draught beer, food, or Happy Hour. They do offer karaoke on Wednesdays and either Fridays or Sundays (can't recall) and the crowd was thrilled to be belting out their favorite tunes. Parking is available in front, in back, and on street. NOTE: They do allow smoking inside. There's a good selection of bottle beers, but nothing on tap. Of course, you can get shots and simple cocktails, but they didn't have the ingredients to make an Old Fashioned or Manhattan. Drink prices were very reasonable ($13 for a Malibu & Coke and a Mudslide). We asked about food and were told that on occasion one of the women working there will bring something in or fire up a grill, but it's not a regular thing. Overall, it's a fun neighborhood bar with friendly service, and an intimate place to gather, hang out, and meet/make new friends. We'll be back. read more

Great dive bar! Everyone is friendly. Bartenders are great. Engaging. Friendly. Happy you're there. Not like you're a bother. They have live entertainment on certain nights as well as karaoke. Pool table. Parking is a little difficult but as long as it's not really busy it's not bad. **** CASH ONLY **** so make sure you got bills on you. Drink prices are not any higher than anywhere else, cocktails may even be a little cheaper here, depending on what you order. It's conveniently located right on Grand Ave. I drove up & down Grand Ave for a long time never realizing this was a bar just because it kind of inconspicuous. It's in the middle of industrial buildings on one side & a liquor store & gas station on the other. I personally have never seen any kind of disrespect or "bad" behavior from customers. Everyone & everything is always just chill, having some adult beverages ( or not) , having conversations, socializing. This used to be a decent little dive bar in Covina. Now, after their remodel the place totally sucks and I don't expect to ever come back. 1) Drinks are expensive for a Covina dive bar: You realize I can pay the same amount of money to drink at a classier place like The Press, right? Why are drinks so expensive now? This place used to be cheap. 2) This place has been taken over by literal biker gangs: Yes, you read that right. If you want to risk getting your a$$ beat or worse by a bunch of patch-sporting bikers, be my guest. There's one dude who literally walks around with a giant crocodile dundee knife on his hip there, and they actually allow this. I thought even legal weapons weren't legal inside of a bar? 3) People are usually friendly, but kinda ratchet: Lots of toothless wonders here, but most people are generally pretty friendly. There was no room for us at the bar, so we ordered at the bar before settling into a booth, but nope..everyone said, HI! and offered to move down to make space for us. Pretty soon everyone was introducing themselves, and we had friends. Soon shots were being bought at the end of the bar and the super friendly, thigh-high stocking'd, mini skirt wearing 'tender (who apparently is the daughter of the owner) said we were included! I came in for a quick, private girlie bitch session and one drink, then left with newly made friends and shots and extra drinks in my tummy. I was even offered beef jerky at some point. They have BBQ here. Chef Steve of FuriousQ BBQ (http://www.furiousq.com/) smokes it up tasty and juicy. And I really love his coleslaw. Really one of the best coleslaws I have had. He makes it himself. Fresh and not too sweet. He has a chicken snack and rib snack that has two peices of meaty goodness and one choice of side for $6. A great dinner. His sweet potato pie is delish! This is my favorite local dive bar. The atmosphere is great, the people there are very friendly, the bartender is also welcoming. I usually come here when I am in the mood to enjoy some atypical drink. Most drinks here are 5$ which is great! As a student, I find this to be very convenient for me to be able to enjoy a drink once in a while! Every time I have come, there is something new, I have come to karaoke night with a very wide selection of music. Also, the crowd is always full of energy! The only downside is that indoor smoking is allowed, but I usually noticed it's about 1 or 2 people and it's just one cigarette and they sort of sit in one area of the place and don't wander around. Not like some places where they have the chain smokers. The place is small and the room isn't full of smoke so it's nothing too bad. Overall, great place! I highly recommend. After 10pm the crowd has a more youthful turnover "mumford and sons" replaces the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" tunes, but the drinks stay affordable and the smoking continues. It's a little on The small side but I went on a Saturday night and I didn't have a problem with getting a drink or finding a place to sit. Music was a juke box but they were playing some great stuff with a nice variation and it wasn't too loud that you couldn't hear yourself talk. After a little while I did notice this is a hangout for a particular motorcycle ahem "club" so if you're a guy keep in mind that you should drink responsibly so as to not start anything you can't finish. The regulars won me over, I took a date here for the last hour and a half bars were open and I absolutely loved it, my date got a kick out of how friendly the guys there were and how much I enjoyed the people there. Bar None (Pardon the pun) the BEST dive around... I went there once for karaoke...true story... I sang a Scorpions song called "Still Loving You"...apparently the bartendress said she absolutely LOVED it...and would I sing a song for her...I asked he what she had in mind and she looked me up and down and said "Rod Stewart...Let's spend the night together!" I told her that I don't really sing Rod Stewart...she looked me up and down again and said "But you do have a ROD don't you?" Wanted to take a moment to give a review on this place, because let me just say it is well deserved. My husband and I love to venture out and get quality time together even if it's just for a few hours on a weekend. We were in search of a dive bar, with good drinks and a Jukebox. With this warm weather lately we had been craving a good Mojito, so I yelped and stumbled across the Grand Inn, I'm a big looker of pictures and then I read the reviews, and the picture of the bloody mary caught my eye. We pulled in and at first weren't sure if it was even a bar, but parked and walked in, and we're glad we did. The bar had a few locals, and it was nice to have a seat at the bar and the bartenders make you feel welcomed. We ordered our Mojitos and they were amazing. We also met a gentleman there who told us we definitely had to come back and try the breakfast. So the very next morning after running a few errands, we ended up right back there and had some Bloody Mary's that were a meal in themselves because they were full of yummy toppings... we ordered our breakfast from the lady who cooks it, and let me just say that was the best breakfast that we've ever had in a bar. My husband had the breakfast burrito with ham, bacon and sausage, and I had the breakfast with 2 eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and biscuits and gravy. It was AMAAAAAZINGG!!! I finished my whole plate. Those biscuits and gravy have got to be the best I've ever had, and I've tried quite a few. We will definetly be back for drinks and breakfast. Breakfast is served from 10am to 1pm Sat & Sun... so if you're ever in the Covina area, definetly stop by and meet the great people over at the Grand Inn and have some breakfast and drinks.
