In addition, they have assisted living plus a number of levels of care up to end of life. They can provide medication to residents, ostomy care, catheter care, bathing, dressing, toileting, housekeeping, escorts by wheel chair to dining and throughout the facility. If you need a medical bed or wheelchair they can help coordinate. If you need to move they have a liaison that would work with your to help bring furniture to their place for design. And also helping thin out belongings . Optional. You can eat in your room. Staff has 24 hour care and shifts with RNs, CNs, LPNs, mgmt director social worker, sales, care coordinator. The facility has indoor parking, handicap too, there is security with locked doors so people cannot get in after a certain hour . There are cameras. There is restaurant quality restaurants, a number of places to eat, depending on if you are assisted living or independent living. And there is a gorgeous rooftop spacious area with loungers and chairs and outdoor furniture with a gorgeous view of downtown Chicago if you want a cocktail. The rooftop is open but w a ceiling. And then there is a facility up top where you can also rent if you have a party. Wall to wall windows. And there's a bar area. There is a large movie theater. There is a beauty salon and they do massages. There is a physical therapy room and physical therapists can work with you depending on your needs. Medicare coordinated. There is a church nearby and walking distance. There are a ton of activities listed on the wall that are going on every single day. They are posted also in the elevator. And you can receive a copy. Every assisted living resident wears alert necklaces around their neck and when you press it, it sends a message to the staff or the nurse in short order to come to your room if there's something urgent or an escort needed. This is not skilled nursing, but it has a lot of features in the plus care category that would meet the needs of most people in their golden years. If you are flat on your back and convalescing, you probably should be in skilled nursing. But that is not the energy or aura of American House. It's a breath of fresh air with senior living to end of life. There's absolutely nothing American House couldn't provide to probably 99% of people. I was very impressed. There is also a grocery store being built across the street. There's parking in front of the building that it's very spacious. If you have to unload a wheelchair. The front door is automatic. It's a building that takes up a full block. It is clean, and the residents are very friendly, and the staff is very friendly. The price point is appropriate and will not break the bank. There are tailored approaches. And it's in Oak Park, which is a lovely community, very diverse w restaurants and parks, and very close to the city. They provide transportation within 8 miles for free. Or rather as part of your monthly rent. This is a month-to-month rental. With a minor down payment. There is also outdoor space in the courtyard and umbrella tables and a bar and a cooking grill. And there's also small gardening with people who may plant vegetables or flowers. The rooms are very modern and comfortable, and there is no stove, but there is a microwave and a sink and stainless steel refrigerator appliances. The rooms are hardwood floors and tall windows. Lots of light. Good views. The windows do not open for safety. The rooms are carpeted. No bath tubs. Walk in showers. And the closet space is huge. The doorways are wide for wheelchairs. You can decorate it the way you like. Utilities are included. You can get a landline separate. But most people have cells. Parking is extra. You are a couple blocks from Rush Hospital. Again great facility. Mary P. is a tremendous asset to American House and is very thorough in her explanations of the offerings of the facility. Subject matter expert, she is great listener. In the assisted living area, some people do put up their names outside their door, but it's like an apartment. And very private. So your doors are not open like a nursing home. And there's a number of areas with televisions and there is a piano, and coffee bar on the first floor. Books to read, games, social schedules. Wonderful, spacious, clean, I give it five stars.

During that time, the staff was generally supportive of my family member when understandable time constraints did not limit their availability. But multiple staff members were relentlessly abusive to me, using dehumanizing and insulting language at a time of extreme duress for for my family. They used profane language to describe me, were openly hostile to my attempts to care for an ailing loved one who had specifically requested my presence, repeatedly implied that I was unwelcome, and defended their unprofessional attitudes by demeaning my value as a human being.

From the start, Erik took the time to really listen and gave me something I hadn't felt in a long time--hope. He created a personalized plan that addressed both my recovery and lingering issues from past injuries. After recently having knee surgery, there was no other place I would go for rehab but here. What makes Athletico so special is the strength of the entire team. I was initially hesitant to work with multiple therapists, but it quickly became one of the biggest advantages. Brandon is like a detective, always asking thoughtful questions to find the true source of pain and then creating a solution. Eduardo, as an athlete himself, understands the complexity of the knee and brings both insight and empathy. Lynn wrote out a full set of stretches for me--completely unprompted--that I still use to this day. This time around, Jackie has been my lead--she's engaging, thoughtful, and makes every session fly by, while also having the knowledge that my condition may be more complex than just osteoarthritis. Abby, Natalie and Lana keep everything running seamlessly, and Max has been incredibly patient and helpful with scheduling. Every visit feels like a personalized training session, with a program that's always evolving to keep me challenged. I'm so grateful for the care and dedication of this team. My case hasn't been simple, but they've helped me regain a quality of life I wasn't sure I'd get back. Without a doubt, the best physical therapy experience I've ever had.

I want to be very honest with this review of Loyola University Medical Center…read more We arrived on Easter Sunday night after being transferred from another hospital, and I was truly grateful we made it. The ICU staff on the 2nd floor were exceptional--kind, professional, and attentive. They consistently checked on us and treated both patients and family with care and respect during a very difficult time. However, after a few days, we were moved to the 3rd floor, and the experience changed significantly. During overnight hours--around 2 AM--the environment has been surprisingly loud. I heard staff using profanity, watching videos or news on their phones at high volume, and openly complaining about long shifts. I understand healthcare is demanding, but this is a hospital setting, and patients (and their families) can hear everything. My relative is here receiving end-of-life care, so I stay overnight. At one point, a nurse questioned my presence rather abruptly before knowing the situation. To her credit, she apologized once she understood, but in moments like these, a little more compassion upfront goes a long way. One of the nurse was rude and jist keep using profanity and stated this is who she is. Wow, Loyola use to have professional nursing staff, what happened? I also noticed interactions where staff spoke to patients in a very casual, sometimes inappropriate tone. Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned, but professionalism matters--especially in a place where people are vulnerable, grieving, and trying to find peace. My takeaway: There is clearly a strong, compassionate team here--as seen in the ICU--but consistency matters. Professionalism, awareness, and respect should be maintained across all floors, especially during overnight hours. Hospitals should feel calm and supportive, not loud or chaotic. Patients and families deserve that--especially during life's most difficult moments. I will give a 4 star due to our first encounter here and the kindness nurses such as Nicole and Quand and Jordan. Very kind d and attentive. And I just heard 2 nurses use profanity to another nurse. I am sincerely flabbergasted that they speak like this so openly and there are patients present in their rooms. The level of unprofessionalism is amazing, and i am really saddened by this as this hospital was once top hospital. Being part of the joint commission will definitely reflect not only my review, but how I move forward. This is really upsetting me.
