There was ONE person working and I was very sympathetic to that, except she was a total nightmare. Not friendly. Not helpful. Not even polite. Our food came out 20 minutes before our one glass of wine and soda. Our second food item came out an hour later and our second glass of wine never came. The kicker is that they have an electronic ordering system so you don't "need" to talk to the server, except that the food and drinks never come and when she does come to your table, she's making it clear that anything you want is a massive inconvenience. The worst service I've ever had, even by airport standards. The single server was sitting at the bar scrolling on her phone while I waited at the host stand to be seated. I thought she was a patron until, several minutes later, she finally looked up from her phone told me to sit anywhere and order with the QR code. The food was fine--overpriced, but you expect that at an airport--but the server never once came back to my table. She just sat at the bar, taking calls on speakerphone at full volume. We originally stopped and were eventually seated in Cocina, but we gave them an hour to bring us menus and water, and after an hour, that had not ever happened. Like other customers at Cocina, we got up and left. We walked next door and found Brix & Vine and were able to get seated at a table within 2-3 minutes of arriving. Our server and hostess was Hakeem, and he was friendly, fast, and helpful. We each ordered a Hangar One Bloody Mary, and they were delicious, well made, and spicy, just like we enjoy. It turned out that Hakeem was doing all roles during our visit on Thursday, with the exception of cooking. There was a lady in a work uniform standing by the door, but she never made any eye contact with anyone other than her phone. Maybe she was getting ready to clock out in twenty minutes and taking a clock outbreak, but Bravo to Hakeem for stepping up and caring for the full dining room and crowd with grace and hospitality while doing it all alone. We also ordered the Sand Crab Cake Sandwich, which was served hot and fresh quickly. The sandwich came with a side order of fries that were seasoned and very good. We definitely got more food than we needed, and everything was excellent. Airport Food is EXPENSIVE, so our bill settled at $79.32 and broke down this way: Hangar Bloody Mary, 2 @ $29.98 ea. Sand Crab Sandwich 2 @ $22.00 ea. Add on five different taxes; it is almost like buying the governor a Dinner, too. The only one not making BANK was our server and Bartender, Hakeem, so we gave him a $100 bill for the meal, and he kept the $20.68 in exchange for a well-earned tip. Thank You, Hakeem, for your great service! Brix & Vine offers very nice dining in a wine cellar-look dining room; it is a very comfortable and relaxing place to stop and grab some good food before returning to the hustle and bustle of airline travel. My husband and I went there today and we were having an amazing time until it was time to get our bill. Our waiter, Pierre Ray, decided not to charge us for the drinks we had, and we said Thank You. Once he saw his gratuity, he was not content about it, and he confronted us and said So, y'all got 40.00 dollars of free liquor, and this is my tip. My response was I didnt ask you to discount anything you made that choice so because he was upset, he went back and re rang our bill making us paid for the drinks he didnt charge at first. It was never about the money because we could afford the drinks, he took it upon himself to not charge us for the drinks and when he realized he didnt have a 50 00 dollar tip he got upset and show his true colors. Airport food is a hit or miss sometimes but it was a nice change of pace to find real food at the airport. Just an unbelievably bad experience as a potential customer. I stood next to the hostess stand waiting for a table to be seated for nearly 5 minutes During those five minutes I made eye contact with three different employees, all of whom essentially ignored me, even though there were seats at the bar and empty tables. occupancy at the time was less than 50 percent. And while I waited, two of the waitresses spent the time chatting and picking up debris from a table. even after clearing the table, neither approached me or made an attempt to seat a customer. I arrived early for my flight to get food and the airport was not actually very busy. I walked in, noticed plenty of open seats including some 2-person bar height tables but went to sit at a regular table with four chairs due to the fact that I travel with a lot of video equipment and wanted to sit at a regular low table and not worry about my gear being all over the place. The bar tender who seemed to be the only one serving the seating area started yelling at me telling me that I had to sit at the two-seat bar table. What an absolute nightmare this place is. It's hard not to use expletives while writing the review. Our flight was delayed 4 hours so we looked for a bar to hunker down at. Brix & Vine looked great from the outside and didn't have that usual *dirty airport pub* vibe. We stood at the door for a few minutes, being ignored by every waiter, the hostess, and the bartender before being seated at the last seats next to the kitchen. We could hear literally everything in the kitchen as the employees bickered and fought with the chef. The chef was a piece of work and picked fights with everyone who entered her kitchen. We ordered the hummus (pictured) which would have my Syrian ancestors rolling in their graves. The bread was soaked in grease and the hummus had a layer of water over the top from sitting out before it was served. We ordered the half chicken, which I would compare to a Baltimore rat....juicy and delicious, til you had you eat it. I do have to say our waitress, Marie, was an absolute pleasure. But she was the only pleasant thing of this experience. Do yourself a favor and spend the $40 to go to the BWI Club and avoid this steaming hot pile of garbage. Arrived to the airport super early for my flight to Detroit. I've wanted to try this place since seeing it a couple of years ago. I ordered the roasted beets salad and a glass of the California Chardonnay, which the server suggested. The salad was delicious, although on the smaller side. The Chardonnay was excellent with a medium body and no bite on the back end. Fruity and tasty. I spent about an hour enjoying my food and drink and writing my pretend eulogy for Anthony Bourdain.
