We came here today for Easter brunch and couldn't be happier with the food, service and ambiance! I was getting nervous about making a reservation here after reading some of the reviews online but I'm glad we decided to try it for ourselves. All of the food was fresh and delicious and all of the staff were working so hard and very attentive. The complimentary picture with the Easter Bunny was an added bonus. We went there to celebrate Mother's Day, again. Very disappointed!!! This time it was a disaster. Period! Don't piss me off when I'm trying to do a good deed; for someone who deserves it! The table they sat us at made me feel like we were uninvited guests at a wedding. We should've asked for Ashley to be our server. Unfortunately Our waitress, I didn't get her name. She has a ponytail and black framed eyeglasses and is a "dog" mother couldn't care less about her patrons. I had to bus our table, more than twice. She didn't bus her tables but once she did do it; she removed all the silverware! I had to look for other staff to take care of us. What am I supposed to use? My fingers to eat a piece of prime rib;? Not only us, but the few tables that she was supposed to cover - would leave their dirty dishes on our table when we were way at the buffet! There was something there on the food tables to satisfy almost every culinary taste. The food was kept within temperature safety limits. My companion enjoyed herself. Went here for Easter and how disappointing it was. Have been to Villa Borghese many times for weddings and holidays so we are not new to this establishment. We arrived early, checked in and within five minutes we were brought to what was supposed to be our table only to find out it was not ready . This happened twice and then they were going to shove all five of us into a small table. I politely declined and waited for a table. That was their first mistake. Seeing that we made these reservations weeks ago. Very unorganized from start to finish. We sat there for over 20 minutes before the waitress came over to take our drink order. We go to the buffet and there's no plates anywhere . It was only 2:00 . I had to ask a server walking by where we could get some plates. Nothing was refilled , the Charcuterie table bare literally a couple of pieces of cheese and a couple of grapes nothing was refilled. The waffles were ice cold and very crunchy , I don't know if they layer them in sugar or what and the syrup to go on them was also cold. The omelette was not cooked , raw eggs in the middle and when I brought it back and asked if they could cook it a little more. The rude worker stated I should've said I wanted it well done. The rib/steak tips were quite chewy , the pasta was not hot and bland. I had to ask my waitress three times for a cup of coffee when she finally brought me a cup it was cold. I asked the bus boy for another cup. It was also cold. I'm assuming they left them in urns. When I asked for some cream instead of milk, I was told They didn't have any even though she didn't bother to go look. My daughters and granddaughter could not get a refill on their drinks as the waitress was nowhere to be found. She made sure to drop the bill off to the table though and then disappeared for a very long time with our credit card. She came back to the table and was like oh I'm sorry I lost my book ? He was accommodating to my families needs, extremely helpful with suggestions and plans we had to make along the way, and overall friendly. The staff met all of our needs and more. I attended a wedding here recently. I'm pretty sure we were served a salad and then didn't get to have the dinner buffet until an hour+ later. Salad was ok. Their sprite was watered down -- just flat! When I asked the bartender about this, she said that's all she had. That's problematic -- everything should be fresh. There was ample parking. I attended an event here last night.. Undoubtedly the worst food I've ever had at a wedding of all places. My steak came out perfectly cooked on the inside but gray on the outside with a large strip of fat along the edge. Potatoes tasted like they had lemon in them. (This is when I should have put the fork down) the greenbeans had to be trimmed before eaten, the ends were unedible. The cocktail hour consisted of dry Luke warm quesidillas. Soft tacos that were soggy with a flavor I couldn't pinpoint. The sliced pork was dry. Never in life have I seen eggplant rollatiini with beans in it, I didn't even bother tasting that creation. I won't even begin to discuss the alcohol at the bar thats a whole different disappointing experience. Stay away is all I can say. Don't ruin your special day in this place. We booked our wedding here in 2020 right before the pandemic hit and we had to postpone our wedding until May 2021. The venue was very helpful in doing so and it was a smooth switch of dates! For that I am grateful. The rest of the prices felt haphazard. I felt like my husband and I had to do everything ourselves. Not much was included and we had to pay extra for a runner, to have someone live-record ( using my own iPad) our wedding and the person we paid $175 to, didn't even let our guests in from the waiting room . We asked to have our ceremony live-recorded due to covid restrictions just being lifted from the state, and some guests who were not comfortable attending but wanted to watch us get married. The girl ( niece of owner, P) said she would handle it after I logged in for her. I asked her if she wanted me to do it and she said no, it's ok. Big mistake because no one ( who was not physically present) was able to watch. I literally gave her money for nothing. That aside, they don't have a viable option for an indoor ceremony. We booked ours outside but it was drizzling and chilly and one of the people helping me on my wedding day asked if we still wanted to have our ceremony outside or bring it indoors. I chose inside bc we had a lot of older guests and I wanted everyone comfortable. I assumed ( incorrectly) they would bring us some place that resembled a ceremonial site. They used a room next to a wedding already in progress with music blaring so it intercepted our vows. We were not happy with that at all. Moving on, our coordinator we worked with, P was tough to work with at times. He was on vacation a lot and often forgot things we discussed and didn't write it down to remember. It felt awkward having to remind him without proof. Luckily, he knew we were right and made things right but we should not have to do that. There were times we would email him and he would not respond for a week. The few days prior to our wedding, my husband went into drop off our final payment and asked a few questions just to solidify everything as we know P often forgot stuff and he straight up said to my husband, " do you not trust me with your wedding?" Basically, no. Thank the lord it worked out. We were concerned the food would suck after hearing rave reviews from people who have been to weddings there. We did our food tasting a month before our wedding ( I feel this should be done before you select the venue bc, let's face it, you don't want to commit to a place where the food sucks) and the food was mediocre. Nothing noteworthy and we had a chipped glass. Just not super professional. We requested the bartender from the food tasting evening and no one ever confirmed she would be there so we got someone else for our wedding night. She did good so no Complaints there. The food in our wedding day was amazing! I give them kudos for pulling through! All in all, I was happy in the end but would hesitate to use them again bc it just felt more chaotic and not super professional on Owner P's end. If you have someone else your experience might be better but we loved the venue and how it looked. Something else they should consider as they have two simultaneous weddings occurring at the same time is better organization with that. If your wedding is the last one , you get the bridal suite 1.5 hours prior to your ceremony which is not nearly enough time. To be able to go in earlier, you have to pay a hefty fee. Bc it rained on our wedding day we were told we can arrive at 4pm to do some photos. We arrived at 5:15 as the wedding before us was waiting to walk down the aisle. It was clear from the evil stares we got from the wedding party and the "omg" look on the brides face that they were not happy we walked in . I think you guys need to focus on keeping wedding separate and have a plan in place for weather related issues so that both weddings are able to do their photos at the venue without charging a lot more. We had an excellent experience. The place is beautiful as you you drive in and even more beautiful inside. I would give this place more stars if I could. Let me start with the food. Cocktail hour was great! Great selection of passed items from oriental spring rolls, to stuffed mushrooms yum!! The main course was just as good. I had the fish it was cooked perfectly. They seemed to be low on food the whole time. Their fried seafood was too dry. The waffles were also so hard. The ladies running the dessert fountains were constantly touching the food without any gloves on - taking cookies to put on the tray without any care of germs. We waited at least 15 minutes to order drinks and we were all on our 2nd round of food before we got our drinks. Trying to get the check and trying to pay was also an issue. I went to a Bar Mitzvah reception here. The food at the cocktail hour was very good, especially the General Tso's Chicken and the Hors d'oeuvres. However, once we were seated, an hour and twenty minutes went by before a caprese salad (no Basil or balsamic drizzle; romaine isn't an adequate substitute) was served. Fifteen minutes later, we were feeling rushed as servers began grabbing the salads (many of them untouched because people hadn't returned to their seats yet) Dinner for us, when it was eventually served, was Salmon and green beans - salmon was...okay...but it did not blow me away by any stretch. There was also chicken, prime rib or pasta (which we did have so I can't review it) We did not stay for dessert and coffee because it took too long getting out. The Villa Borghese went above and beyond our expectations! We got married outside in the garden and had our reception in the Crystal room. To start, having the ceremony and reception in the same place was the best decision we could have made, it made for a relaxed and easy transition. We worked directly with Sarah for all the planning from food to color scheme to timing she was a HUGE help! The food was absolutely phenomenal (no one ever likes catered food BUT this was unforgettably delicious) and the service was excellent. The rooms are all so beautiful and well kept. It made for a truly outstanding evening. The bathrooms were so clean and stocked with all the essentials for any mishaps. Paint all over guests dresses, suits, etc and now the paint will not come out so we've paid for dry cleaning and now need a new suit and dress Also, service was terrible. 1-2 bartenders at most for 150 people and the 1 was about as friendly as a rabid animal. Very disappointing. My wife and I attended a Sweet 16 party here and it was just awful. The cocktail hour was passable but as for dinner: Our table was last to be served the first 2 courses so it only seemed fitting that we would be served our main course while all the other tables were finished. To boot, I ordered the chicken and it arrived as cold as ice. I was just about to motion to the waitress when I looked down and pulled out an 18 inch blonde hair from my plate. Being that my wife is a brunette, I felt I had cause for concern. I showed this to the manager and he offered to replace my dinner with a different entrée. I requested the prime rib and the same chicken dinner was brought back to me, only reheated. I sent it back again stating that I ordered the prime rib and it never arrived. Well, the Villa Borghese usually is very good. Nice venue and clean. This Christmas brunch was disappointing. First off most of the food was cold. The fish was dry. The food mostly bland. The cheesecake - still frozen, a good indicator it was wholesale bought. Just really "buffet" quality food and for $35 per person you could eat a whole lot better, and should. Cocktail hour was poor, pasta and cheese on a table in a walk way, no place to put soiled plates or empty glasses. Silent auction area was overcrowded and not inviting. Ceremony ran late, cocktail hour was disorganized, the reception started an hour late, but ended on time. No additional time was given even though everything ran late because of the venue's staff, food was okay, nothing special. Oh and the big dessert,,bananas foster, was served to only half the room! Wedding cake wasn't served to all the tables and we had to wait on line for lukewarm coffee from a coffee bar with one server.. There's no valet parking, no bathroom attendant, and not enough servers. No was was out front directing guests so everyone just wandered around looking in all the rooms before finding the right wedding! The bathrooms were a mess with overflowing toilets and signs not to throw toilet paper in the toilet!!! I could go on for another 20 mins, but my advice,, go somewhere else. My parents held a party for their 25th wedding anniversary at Villa Borghese. The venue and facilities are beautiful with great ambience. The staff members that we worked with were very helpful and receptive, specifically Erica and Jen. Had everything run smoothly on the day of the event, we would give the venue a 5/5 but unfortunately some key errors were made during the event that were quite upsetting for us. First, during the cocktail hour we had paid to have top-shelf liquor served, but that was not what they were serving. As you can imagine, it's pretty shocking to pay for an open bar with top-shelf alcohol and then find out your guests are getting something sub-par and you are not getting your money's worth. Second, part of our package was coffee and tea to be served with dessert. The tea and coffee were not served at the appropriate time--we had to keep reminding the staff that this was part of our package, and so by the time they brought it out most of our guests had left. There were also no cups and saucers as part of the place settings, which were supposed to be there in concordance with the tea and coffee. These two issues on the day of our event, when we wanted to enjoy after all the hard work we had put in, really tarnished our impression of Villa Borghese. read more

I couldn't imagine having my wedding anywhere else but the upstairs terrace from the moment I stepped in the door..Paul made our wedding come alive with class, elegance, and utter perfection. From beginning to end, I didn't have to worry or stress about anything. I knew I was in good hands, I trusted the outcome, and sure enough, it was a perfect day come true. The food was excellent, I didn't expect anything less from them and they exceeded my expectations from the food to the decor to the staff. This place is a gem, you won't be disappointed. As a handicapped individual set's start with the broken pavement in the parking lot and linsufficient handicapped parking. A bride an d groom, being dropped off at the front entrance wouldn't have to deal with this, but guests are on their own. I understand that there were two events going on at the same time 6/08/17. My advice to management is to hold one event at a time and maybe the beef I and others at our table would not have been the worst piece of meat I can ever remember.The wait staff was very good and competent. All in all a very poor experience. At one time this may have been a go-to venue but I don't think this is the case at this time. read more

We had our parents 50th anniversary party here and it was fantastic. The staff took care of everything for us. The owner Joe and master of ceremonies Miguel made sure we had everything we needed. As the bride I can say I was very disappointed. My wedding coordinator Erica Vazquez was rude throughout every point of the process. Not only was she unhelpful she battled me when it came to having a soy free menu which I requested since I am highly allergic to soy. We were promised a champagne march which we did not receive, food items we requested were not offered, and I as the bride had to send back my dinner order 3 times due to the fatty, undercooked, and dry meats in which I was served. I was also made to feel guilty because of my soy allergy. Both the bridal and grooms suite were being shown as both parties were getting dressed. Every detail was being fought over, and the Villa failed on multiple accounts. The only good thing about the Villa Borghese was its appearance, yet there were wine glasses cigarette buts and debris around the entire facility. Don't use the VIlla Borghese unless you spend the deluxe amount because they will ignore you otherwise. The Villa Borghese needs to clean up its act. read more
