A ginormous portion of fish 'n chips.
Elizabeth S.

First time at Carter's, and definitely plan to return. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is I've just been once and I rarely give 5 star ratings based on a single visit. As others have written, the front is more of a bar feel, the back more of a restaurant. Having said that, during happy hour, the bar was pretty loud. If that's the vibe you're going for, request to sit out front; it's a bit more muted in the back. Once happy hour was over, it went to "Hey, how's it going" hour and the music was a bit lower and a great compliment to the meal. Tip: Portions are HUGE (check out my photos). I had the chicken pesto sandwich; my partner had the fish n chips. So you may wish to share what you order (or be psyched to have leftovers for lunch the next day!). The theme of our dinner was FRESH -- everything was delicious and flavorful; even if you're a french fries kinda person, I'd recommend getting salad as a side instead. The greens were high quality and the vinaigrette a great compliment to the main course. I also want to give 97 stars to the team that works there. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly; there were three different people working in the back, and our order was taken, glasses refilled and food delivered seamlessly. Everyone was kind and lovely; a real positive vibe. Recommend you check them out!

Fourth time here? Every time it just gets better and better. The drinks are out of this world. The food blows my b*lls off every single time I take a bite. Everything is fresh and in season. Every single one of the staff members makes you feel like family. The seasonal menu constantly changing and consistently crushing it. I can't tell you guys enough how everyone needs to try this place. I literally came back the other night and brought my mother and grandmother that's how good it is.

Carter's is a fun spot in Beacon. Nicely decorated in a recent remodeling. Cozy bar area. Additional seating and an outside area out back. Friendly, engaging staff. Really good service. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Carter's menu is a hidden gem. Imaginative dishes mixed along with old favorites with a spin. Everything we tried was nice prepared, well presented, and delicious. Definitely worth a visit!

The Korean BBQ was very tasty. The cheesesteak special was just ok. It needed more flavor especially after having the BBQ. Sat in the front in the sports bar area. The back of the place has more of a restaurant feel.

Great Restaurant excellent menu with a wide array of dishes. Seafood to cauliflower pizza crust, sandwiches to pesto pasta. The owner was very friendly and approachable. Staff was alert and helpful. A+

Food quality / price (value) rating 9. The atmosphere is contemporary / neo-industrial. Located in the charming and walkable town of Beacon, this place offers a well chosen menu of pub & tavern food. I had the Grilled Chicken Pesto sandwich which included a very generous portion of chicken breast on a high quality sesame baguette and included French fries and some cole slaw and pickle chips. The wife had the Paesano salad that included a good sized chicken cutlet and high quality mixed greens and a homemade dressing. We each had enough food to take home a second meal. They have a decent choice of canned and bottled beer, and a full bar. The bar seats about 10, and the front dining room has a mix of high-tops and tables. They have a nice back dining room, and a large outdoor seating area. The food was very good, and was prepared properly and presented very nicely by our dedicated wait staff, Ashlin and Janelle. The prices were fair. They have live music every Tuesday, and also on other nights occasionally. They have a good Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 pm. We'll certainly come again!

It exemplifies the degradation in society at all levels, companies, businesses, corporations, media, culture. What used to be dignified civil society has become a sewer mass of immorality and degradation where the debased and degraded is lauded as the accepted cultural norm. Yes the facilities of this enterprise are just fine - new, "modern" in all its expected respects, but I was speaking of something far greater than all of that. Do not simply accept and go along with what this present culture has become; because it's now the world around you does not mean you cannot stand up and speak out against it. Invariably you'll get the immature and unprofessional response below - in my day businesses would have apologized, perhaps tried to explain in a more conciliatory matter to the prospective patron that sometimes communiques can become more casual when people are feeling more comfortable (although the regular outgoing company newsletter should not and never be) and to apologize for the laxity. In this case, not only was there no such apology, the result is for the person speaking to be ostensibly "removed" from the sphere of discussion, "cancelled" if you will out of the recipient's domain; obviously it was just your particular sensibility that was offended, no real violation of cultural norms had occurred so we don't need to even take you seriously or offer you the civilized respect of a discussion about it. My point is, the more you don't speak out and allow garbage, the more garbage you'll find around you, and it is all around us now, no matter how new and shiny the surface. ---------------------------------------------- Me: Hello could you please refrain from including curse words or ostensibly covered up curse words in your newsletters, e.g., "Perfect for folks who have a short-term project and just need a private space to get $h!t done." Maybe just one generation ago, that would be unheard of in a professional communication sent out by a seemingly professional organization, but the worst forms of degradation are happening in every from of media, corporations and advertising; this is just another symptom and evidence. I really don't want to be bombarded with curse words first thing in the morning when I open up a company information newsletter. Thank you. Owner: Apologies to have offended you, Anita. We will remove you from our email list. Best, Scott

Generally speaking, the ambience is really nice. All of the staff was very nice and attentive. We did have a newer server who seemed a little bit nervous and less familiar with the menu than you might want, but she was very nice and we have no complaints about the actual service. We split a half bottle of wine, which was a nice option since we didn't want a full bottle. We started with the French baguette, the brussels sprouts, and the whipped ricotta. The brussels sprouts were delicious. They were perfectly cooked and I couldn't stop going back to them. The whipped ricotta was also really interesting and the flavors were amazing. What was really disappointing was the baguette. When I think baguette, I think crusty, hot, out of the oven. The texture of the baguette was weird because it almost had more of a pretzel like exterior that was chewy and not crispy. For mains, we had the crispy chicken sandwich and the cassoulet. The sandwich was kind of a letdown. The flavors were all nice, but there was no textural difference. The bun was a little too big for the sandwich, the avocado, and the other toppings, just all kind of mushed into each other. It was perfectly enjoyable, but just nothing to write home about. The cassoulet was very good. There was a nice depth of flavor and smokiness to the meat. Overall, no complaints. It did seem as though our mains probably sat under a heat lamp. My guess is that because we were still working on the appetizers they did not want us to feel rushed, but with this kind of meal and the price point, they should do a better job pacing, or they should just bring the food out when it comes out. I would rather have the fresh hot food out of the kitchen, than have it sitting under a heat lamp. Overall, the meal was lovely. There were a lot of really high points. There were also some disappointing parts of the meal. Given the price point and the feel of the round house, the few missteps hit a little bit harder. But we would absolutely come back again. It was an overall very nice experience and we enjoyed our ourselves.

I hired these lovely ladies to take care of only a few things: surprise food platters, arranging my party favors and hanging difficult-to-reach items throughout the venue for my wedding. These ladies completed these tasks in NO TIME and then literally ran up and down the stairs for hours completing any task I barked. They finished my floral arrangments AND my bouquet so elegantly, arranged my cocktail hour tables and centerpieces exactly how I imagined them, steamed my dress, prepared and set the gift table, set the ceremony table and easily found items in my mess-of-a-bridal-suite for the venue coordinator, photographer and my family. Most important, they calmed me down when I was having typical bridal meltdowns :) They're worth every penny for their hard work but really their kindness, attitude, professionalism and elegance made it even more worth it. All of my bridal party was raving about how amazing they were. They helped my scattered vision come to completion with little to no direction. I am so very very thankful they were on my team!

I cannot recommend Lambs Hill or my stylist Alessia enough!!…read more Everyone I know has gotten their dress at Lambs Hill, and upon first glance you think you're walking into a high end boutique and going to end up spending a pretty penny. That could not be the opposite! Their gowns are so moderately priced with majority of them being under $2300. I went in thinking I wanted a ballgown and went the entire opposite direction. Alessia pulled every single dress I asked to see, she helped me try on and take off the same dresses multiple times. In the end she ended up custom making me a gown from items all around the shop. I found my dress at my first apt but left without it because I was too nervous to say yes at my very first apt. I went back about a month later tried on even more dresses & Alessia convinced me to try on my dress one more time and I knew it was mine when I looked at it on the hanger. We learned that the owner's name is Charlotte and she painted all of the artwork in the shop. But what they didn't know is that my late grandma's name was Charlotte & I have been having a very difficult time without her being here, walking into my changing area and seeing her name on the art work on the wall I knew was a sign that not only was she there with us but that I'd be leaving Lambs Hill with my perfect dream dress. The entire staff is amazing, made me feel like a princess and I absolutely cannot wait to see my dress come to life!
