They said that that's fine and they understood and they'll see my appointment. My appointment today was for the most part fine the person did everything good as far as the wash blow dry and flat iron. During the flat iron they did miss one section which is about the end of the world cause I could just fix that at home and they are students at the end of the day. Multiple people including instructors had suggested I get a trim which I said I'm not comfortable at the time because I have past experience where a different campus trimmed 3 to 4 inches instead of like the one or 2 inches that it was OK with. So there was miscommunication on that part where they were telling me $9 I was like okay no I'm good at the moment so the instructor that was supervising the student that was doing my hair today said do you really need to get that trim would you be more comfortable? I did it I said yes reluctantly so she went ahead and did it and I was told she wasn't gonna charge me for that because it was ongoing misunderstandings for today's appointment like a lot of miscommunication happened. I get up there and they're trying to charge me $44, but it's supposed to be 25. There was the initial issue of the price at the beginning of the appointment before I even let them touch my hair. And I thought we had it sorted out before they started working on my hair. I had initially wanted a basic wash blow dry and flat iron which they told me would be 30 but they want me to do the specialty promo thing whenever I was on the phone with them and they said it would be 25 and I asked that I included flat iron Nurse that was just a wash and blow dry. They said no that includes the flat iron because I was trying to initially ask him multiple times what the price was like the price difference was because the basic was $30. I was trying to see what the new price would be if I hydro decided to do that and nobody had given me a straight answer over the phone so I thought I'll ask like hey so does that 25? Include all three or does that just include the shampoo and wash and if it just the shampoo and wash how much extra is it for also the flat iron. They said no, just a 25. I get there there's confusion about the price and everything else and then fast forward to a haircut thing but they kept saying hey we really suggest that you do like the trim and when ms t offered to do it herself and said she wouldn't charge me I went ahead and agreed they tried to charge me 44 instead of the 25. And Miss Rogers was saying oh well you have the right to refuse. I'm like multiple people kept asking me even though I said no thank you and if Miss T hasn't walked up, I've been paying the full price before she said something I had just said you know what go ahead and just charge me whatever and I'm just not gonna come back to this campus and I'm just a very frustrating situation. After I paid my card was charged they tried to tell me you need to pay again because apparently on their side it was having some sort of error. I'm like I already paid and I opened up my bank statement even a show the person at the desk and the instructor. She said you know what you're good to go after I showed her everything and I'm like hey I don't want you. I think I'm trying to skim out some money or anything. She's like you're good. You're good to go but that was just a very frustrating experience. It wasn't the end of the world. It was just frustrating. This is the better out of the two locations I've been to. They just need to really work on communication. Because out of fix like 90% of the issues that we faced today. Like the person on the phone with me when I was booking my appointment today, should've known there promotion better. And everybody needs to be on the same page whenever things are being communicated to a client. I wouldn't mind paying the $44 or whatever if they were communicating better and everybody is on the same page but you're telling me one thing you're telling somebody else something different. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing…read more I understand that students are there to learn, and I fully expect a learning environment. However, learning also requires humility and a willingness to listen--especially when working on someone's natural hair. The student who worked on my hair, Tatum, seemed more interested in projecting confidence than listening to the person whose hair she was servicing. I have 4C natural hair and have specific goals for retaining length and minimizing breakage. I politely explained what works for my hair throughout the process, but my input was met with resistance rather than curiosity. At one point, she even asked if I had gone to cosmetology school because I was giving guidance about my own hair. After applying a demi-color, my hair was not thoroughly conditioned, which is an important step for my hair texture. During the blow-drying process, my hair was repeatedly brushed while dry, causing unnecessary breakage that could have been minimized by properly detangling and conditioning it at the shampoo bowl first. Instead of focusing on technique, there seemed to be more attention given to casual conversation. What disappointed me most was the lack of instruction from the supervising staff. A cosmetology school should be a place where students are actively taught how to work with all hair textures, including tightly coiled 4C hair. Supervisors should be demonstrating, correcting techniques, and encouraging students to listen to clients who know their own hair. My recommendation to Ogle School is to strengthen the training of both students and supervisors when it comes to textured hair. Every client deserves to feel heard, and every future cosmetologist should graduate with the skills and humility to care for all hair types--not just the ones they are most familiar with. I truly hope this feedback is taken constructively because there is an opportunity to improve the learning experience for both students and clients.

They've been in the industry for years and are always present, offering guidance, stepping in when needed, and making adjustments to ensure the client is happy with the final result. I've always felt listened to and well taken care of. One thing to keep in mind--this comes with any hair school--is timing. If you're booking color or more involved services, plan accordingly. Appointments can take a while, so I recommend clearing your schedule and expecting to be there at least half a day (sometimes longer). It's well worth it if you plan ahead.
