I go to another place now, but I think she's a great person. The waxes I towards the end were a little sloppy and she definitely doesn't go "all up in there" like most do, which is a little bit of a bummer. I pre-bought a package and was basically paying $40 for just a Brazilian. I asked her twice (last time right before Rona) and she couldn't tell me how many I had left, nor was she available due to weight loss surgery. Just a heads up: I don't think she's in business anymore (at least not at this location on Austin). I had scheduled two services online, received a confirmation, and showed up early for my appointment. But the door to the building was locked -- you have to go up the stairs in the back, there isn't another way in to the spa suites. I was standing out in the rain for a minute waiting for someone to let me in. Thankfully, one of the girls in one of the suites had just arrived and unlocked the door. What was interesting is that she was the first one there. Like she had to disarm the alarm and turn on all the lights in the waiting area. For a 10am wax appointment, I found this odd. Doesn't your wax have to heat up? I was trying to give Tonayia the benefit of the doubt....Lord knows emergencies happen. I waited nearly 20 minutes and tried calling Tonayia's 972 # that's on her confirmation email. It's the same # that's listed in her Yelp posting, too. What was weird was that the phone didn't ring. I just got a message stating that this number wasn't accepting phone calls. No way to leave a message. So I emailed her by responding to her confirmation to tell her I was leaving. At this point, I had been waiting over 20 minutes with zero communication. Again, I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. I have a small business and I know things happen. But 2 1/2 days later, still no response to my email. There's nothing worse than when someone wastes your time. If she does go into business again, I'd highly suggest calling before you head to your appointment to make sure that she's really in the office. Fortunately, Peace Love Wax in Plano (who has a no tipping policy) was able to get me in the same day. I'd suggest going there instead. read more

Unbelievable find! A woman will look everywhere for a great provider when she moves. Thanks to Yelpers, I found a professional provider who is just plain great at what she does. The services I've received here are of the highest caliber: no-nonsense fast service, a sanitary and intimate environment, great prices and specials, and both providers are friendly and capable of good rapport. I appreciate the text reminder the night before your appointment which confirms to both of you that you'll each be there at the right time. I have a lot of experience with waxing and these two ladies are excellent providers. Once you've experienced waxing using hard wax , you will not go back to strip-methods unless forced. Their hard wax method is as painless as it gets (no tugging and they talk you through breathing). I also truly appreciate how quick they are. I'm not sure why it is so hard to find providers in the area that use hard wax--I think it's a far superior experience, especially for your first time. The space is inside Town Creeks Salons by Target. There is plenty of free parking, which is somehow always important to me. The space is one room with a locked door. There is no separate changing area, but the ladies give you privacy and typically waxing is not for the timid, anyway. Highly recommended. read more

When you're going in to get waxed "down there", it's awkward no matter what, but, as awkward/weird as it was she puts you at ease and assures you that she's done this many MANY times. She does lock the door, which, as weird as it is to be locked in a room with a stranger; it turns out to be a wonderful comfort in this situation. You drop your bottoms and hop on the table. No robe/blanket/sheet... but, totally makes sense once she gets to work. And, once she gets to work, you are no longer thinking about covering up. As for the actual waxing part - This was my first time. So, no matter what, it was going to hurt. All I can say is, I am glad she was my first! She was great, I was comfortable, she did an amazing job and I will definitely be seeing her again! read more

I have been going to Autumn at Tonayia's Wax Pot for a while now. She is very knowledgeable and friendly and puts you at ease. She does a great job and talks to you about any concerns you may have. I've already referred two friends to the Wax Pot and bragged about it to countless others! The service is quick, efficient, timely, friendly and worth every penny. The pricing is extremely competitive, you can't beat it! The only reason I didn't go with 5 stars is that I have had "my girl" pushed on rather aggressively at my first visit (but not at all since) and on my third visit had wax dropped on "my girl" (she got it off no pain, and all fine). Also, the facilities are a little messy, but I know everything is clean and sanitary (I've seen the table being cleaned and the use of gloves, sanitizer etc.) Can't wait for my next appointment! read more

Friendly, quick and affordable. Made an appointment online for later in the day and she was able to fit me in with no problem. The salon is in a suite of salons, but with the door shut you do not notice. It is not the most luxurious of spaces and is small, but if you are looking for affordable waxing then you will overlook the accommodations. I bought a Groupon to try this place out since I'm looking for a good wax esthetician. It's located in a salon where everyone rents their own spaces. Easy to get to and to find and most importantly it's located close to me! Tonayia was nice and made the experience very comfortable. Her prices are very reasonable and the wax she uses doesn't stick or leave any residue. I also like that they use Schedulicity which makes making and canceling appointments very easy. I came here because the amazing reviews all from other yelp users however I don't believe I got the same results as they all did, I am very disappointed in how my eyebrows turned out. My eyebrows are too thin, I'll have to do extra work filling them in. Tonayia was nice like everyone had said but I was disappointed in the appearance of the room, it was kinda messy and Tonayia looked like she rolled out of bed, the wax looked like it could have been from Sally's or Walmart as well as all the other items. T definitely stands out as one of the friendliest, most prepared and organized wax specialists I've ever met! Her prices are very affordable, and she does amazing work. She uses the strip-free waxing method which 1) pulls off ALL hairs, stubborn or easy and 2) doesn't stick to the skin once the hair is gone, so it doesn't irritate your skin like strip waxing does. I got my first Brazilian wax at this place 4 years ago and refuse to go anywhere else. Both Autumn and her mom Toniya have waxed me, but I typically go to autumn and she is amazing. She makes you feel extremely comfortable, is easy to talk to you, and always gets it right the first time. They use stripless wax (I'm not sure if everyone does or what it's called) so the process is seamless. Autumn is also very flexible and willing to work with my schedule. I've never had a bad experience here and would definitely suggest this place if you're a beginner or first timer. They'll change your outlook on Brazilians completely! read more
